  • SQL Server Query Command

    - by Scott Jackson
Hi, I have an SQL database table, I want to find everything in a table where the 'Room' says 'DISPOSED', Insert 'DISPOSED' into the 'Status' field and then delete the entry in 'Room'. Basically moving the entry from one field to another (if the 'Room' field has 'DISPOSED' in it) Hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help.

  • SQLAlchemy autocommiting?

    - by muckabout
I have an issue with SQLAlchemy apparently committing. A rough sketch of my code: trans = self.conn.begin() try: assert not self.conn.execute(my_obj.__table__.select(my_obj.id == id)).first() self.conn.execute(my_obj.__table__.insert().values(id=id)) assert not self.conn.execute(my_obj.__table__.select(my_obj.id == id)).first() except: trans.rollback() raise I don't commit, and the second assert always fails! In other words, it seems the data is getting inserted into the database even though the code is within a transaction! Is this assessment accurate?

  • How to import music into Android library

    - by android_dev
Hello, I would like to know how can I import songs from a web service into Android library without having to download the file into sdcard. I have all the data from the web service but I do not know how to integrate the tracks into Android database. My idea is not to have to download the files, but playing them on streaming using the music player. Do I need to download the tracks to the sd card and then Android does all the stuff? Thanks in advance

  • Multitenant NHibernate application with with separate SQL Server schema for each tenant

    - by Branko
I am writing a new multi-tenant WCF RIA application. I plan to have a shared database with separate SQL Server schema for each tenant. I would like to use NHibernate for object-ralational mapping. Configuration of SQL Server schema in mapping classes doesn't help because it is static and would need one set of mapping classes for each tenant. Is it possible to dynamically configure ISession which SQL Server schema should be used for mapping objects to tables?

  • Inserting Strings Without Trailing Spaces SQL

    - by Soo
I have a database with a field named Field1 that has 100 nchars per entry. Each time I add a value, it is stored as: "value (100-ValueLength Spaces) " So Basically each stored value has a string of spaces after it. This is getting to be an issue when I try doing: if (value == "Example") because of all of the empty spaces after the string. How can I get it so the stored values don't have all of these trailing spaces?

  • Java portal architectural considerations

    - by Woot4Moo
Currently there exists a need to create an application that will serve 5 different customers each requiring their own specific URL and content repository. My question is when designing this application what should my considerations be for protecting the content of the individual customers while meeting the requirements of the unique URL. The system will be sitting on Windows with a postgres database and java as the implementation language.

  • MySQL Math - Is it possible to calculate a correlation in a query?

    - by John M
In a MySQL (5.1) database table there is data that represents: how long a user takes to perform a task and how many items the user handled during the task. Would MySQL support correlating the data or do I need to use PHP/C# to calcuate? Where would I find a good formula to calculate correlation (it's been a long time since I last did this)?

  • Securing Coredata objects

    - by Abraham Durairaj
I am working on an application which has got some sensitive information. I am aware that it would be difficult for a layman to hack into iphone to get the information. If I use SQLite directly I have something called SQLite Cipher to encrypt / encode the database. Is there anyway where I can have the same way of encrypting the coredata so it makes it hard for hackers to get into the data. Can someone shed some light on this? Thanks in Advance

  • Microsoft using PHP instead of ASP.NET ?

    - by Quandary
Question: I was just browsing http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms190447.aspx?PHPSESSID=tn8k5p1s508cop8gr43e1f34d2 for information about how to restore a database to a new location The interesting part is (my question has nothing to do with databases), why is there a PHP-Session-ID (PHPSESSID) parameter in the ULR if the extension is aspx? Unless one would reroute .aspx to .php ?

  • MySQL More Tables or More Rows

    - by Pez Cuckow
I am working on a game that I am going to open to the public to have on their game. The game stores lots of information (about 300 rows) per website and spends a lot of time updating values within this MySQL database. Is it better (faster/efficient) to add a new table for every website or to just have 1000's of rows in one table and add a column "website_id" or similar?
