• Suspended Laptop Cannot Wake Up - Ubuntu

  I've got an ASUS G73JH, and whenever I suspend it or hibernate it, it will not wake up. The screen stays backlight but is black. The fan remains running, however the HDD does not, not disk activity is noticeable (audibly (It's not a SSD)). I can't: Awaken it with the keyboard Awaken it with the mouse Soft power-off by pressing the power button Change virtual screens by pressing Ctrl-Alt-# Restart X by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Backspace I have to hold down the power button and shut it down that way, and this seems a little unreasonable. Is there a place I could look for more detail as to what's causing this? Is there a known quick-fix to this issue? Nothing is logged as happening when the system is in "suspend" mode.   I have a Sony Vaio laptop with Windows 7 home premium 64 bit. The "New Folder" button in Windows Explorer does not work nor does the shortcut for creating a new folder (ctrl+alt+n) However, I can create a new folder in Explorer by right clicking, selecting NEW, and selecting FOLDER. Any suggestions on how I can fix this?

  In Windows XP, installing the software 'Explorer Breadcrumbs' allows me to have an address bar similar to Windows 7 (directories are displayed as buttons that you can click to go to). With Explorer Breadcrumbs in Windows XP, I can open a directory in the address bar in a new window by ctrl-clicking or middle clicking the directory button. Is there a way to have this same functionality in Windows 7?

• Is there a keyboard shortcut in Outlook to revert back to the default font?

  In Outlook when writing an email, sometimes the font changes (eg due to copy/pasting from somewhere else). In Word you can revert back to the default font by pressing Ctrl+SPACE. However, in Outlook this changes the font to Times Roman which is not the default Outlook font. (I know you can use Format Painter but I'd prefer a keyboard shortcut.)

• Pressing tab to indent a list moves to the next table cell

  I have a list (e.g., a bulleted list) in Microsoft Word. This list is inside a table cell. When I press Tab to increase the indent, rather than increasing the indent, it moves the cursor to the next cell. When I try Ctrl+Tab, it just inserts a tab character without changing the indentation of the bullet (paragraph). How can I turn this off, so it does not go to the next cell but rather just indents the list?

  In XP, to ensure a folder opened in a new window, I held down CTRL when I opened (by mouse or keyboard) the folder. This action is so ingrained to me, I pretty much don't even realise I'm doing it at a conscious level. Unfortunately, this action apparently hasn't made it to Vista. • How to prevent the "other user" from appearing on the logon screen of a server?

  When I want to log into a server console (Server 2008 R2), I click Ctrl+Alt+Del and get "Other User" that I need to click before I get the log in box to add my credentials. This wouldnt be so bad, but I want to use this server as a Citrix server and so far every user that tries to connect has to click other user before they can add thier own credentials.. Has anyone got any ideas on ewhat I can do to get this to go straight to the username and password without the extra click?

• Mac Finder - Alternate default application?

  Hi, Double click on an image opens the default application associated with it. E.g. "jpg" opens with "Preview", but some times I need to open with an alternate application, e.g. photo editing software. I don't want to change the "default" handling from "Preview" but may be with "Cmd-Enter" or "Ctrl-Enter" I want to open with another application instead of "Open With"-Select Application... Is it possible? Thanks.

• BB Code Parser (in formatting phase) with jQuery jammed due to messed up loops most likely

  Greetings everyone, I'm making a BB Code Parser but I'm stuck on the JavaScript front. I'm using jQuery and the caret library for noting selections in a text field. When someone selects a piece of text a div with formatting options will appear. I have two issues. Issue 1. How can I make this work for multiple textfields? I'm drawing a blank as it currently will detect the textfield correctly until it enters the $("#BBtoolBox a").mousedown(function() { } loop. After entering it will start listing one field after another in a random pattern in my eyes. !!! MAIN Issue 2. I'm guessing this is the main reason for issue 1 as well. When I press a formatting option it will work on the first action but not the ones afterwards. It keeps duplicating the variable parsed. (if I only keep to one field it will never print in the second) Issue 3 If you find anything especially ugly in the code, please tell me how to improve myself. I appriciate all help I can get.
