    I'm looking for a solution like an exchange server for email, calendar, contacts, etc. I would prefer to use a open source solution. Any suggestions? The client PCs are using Mac/Unix and Windows, so the server must be accessible from all platforms. I prefer to used a non-Web-based solution, but i'm open to web-based suggestions if they provide all the needed functions (email, calendar, contacts).

  • submitting data via email to websystem

    I'm working on a task system and I'd like to be able to submit a task to the system by emailing it to a particular address. I'm thinking I could set my user by the sender, the task subject by the subject and the task comments by the text of the email. Not sure the version of Exchange we have available if that matters but I'm running .net 3.5 and using C#. Any direction would be appreciated. Thanks, Charlie

  • Move options between multiple dropdown lists

    We currently have a form with the standard multi-select functionality of "here are the available options, here are the selected options, here are some buttons to move stuff back and forth." However, the client now wants the ability to not just select certain items, but to also categorize them. For example, given a list of books, they want to not just select the ones they own, but also the ones they've read, the ones they would like to read, and the ones they've heard about. (All examples fictional.) Thankfully, a selected item can only be in one category at a time. I can find many examples of moving items between listboxes, but not a single one for moving items between multiple listboxes. To add to the complication, the form needs to have two sets of list+categories, e.g. a list of movies that need to be categorized in addition to the aforementioned books. An additional problem is that sorting between lists is all well and good in the javascript-enabled world, but I can't really think of a good fallback interface for, say, mobile browsers. Maybe a pseudo-listbox with radio buttons next to each item? The master list of items will in general be very long - over 100 items, certainly, possibly many more. Any given category will most likely contain one or two selected items, but the possibility exists for a category to have dozens of selected items, or zero selected items. As far as OS and stuff, the site is in classic asp (quit snickering!), the server-side code is VBScript, and so far we've avoided the various Javascript libraries by the simple expedient of almost never using client-side scripting. This one form for this one client is currently the big exception. Give 'em an inch and they want a mile... Oh, and I have to add: I suck at Javascript, or really at any C-descendant language. Curly braces give me hives. I'd really, really like something I can just copy & paste into my page, maybe tweak some variable names, and never look at it again. A girl can dream, can't she? :)

EDIT: Having now actually sat down to try to code the non-javascripty bits, I need to revise my question, because I realized that multiple select lists won't really work from the "how do I inform the server about all this lovely new information" standpoint. So the html code is now a pseudo-listbox, i.e. an unordered list (ul) displayed in a box with a scrollbar, and each list item (<li>) has a set of five radio buttons (unselected/own/read/like/heard). My task is still roughly the same: how to take this one list and make it easy to categorize the items, in such a way that the user can tell at a glance what is in what category. (The pseudo-listbox has some of the same disadvantages as a multi-select listbox, namely it's hard to tell what's selected if the list is long enough to scroll.) The dream solution would be a drag-and-drop type thing, but at this point even buttons would be OK. Another modification (a good one) is that the client has revised the lists, so the longest is now "only" 62 items long (instead of the many hundreds they had before). The categories will still mostly contain zero, one, or two selected items, possibly a couple more if the user was overzealous.   • Editing Neo Slider to move in one direction

    I have a website with brandspace theme from pixelentity. Currently, the slider move from right to left ( auto transition) . But, when the slider reaches the last image, it will go back to the first image by making all previous images sliding back from left to right. I want to make the slider to have a normal transition,i.e. going back to first image but still with the image sliding from right to left. The following are the restrictions: The classes SURFACE and CURVE are from 3rd party libraries and hence unmodifiable. (If it helps they are both derived from IDispatch) There are even more similar classes (e.g. FACE) that could fit into this "template" (not C++ template, just the flow of lines of code) I know the following could (possibly?) be implemented as solutions but am really hoping there is a better solution: I could add a 3rd parameter to the 2 methods - e.g. an enum - that identifies the 1st parameter (e.g. enum::input_type_surface, enum::input_type_curve) I could pass in an IDispatch and try dynamic_cast< and test which cast is NON_NULL and do an if-else to call the right method (e.g. getPlaneParams() vs. get_LineParams()) The following is not a restriction but would be a requirement because of my teammates resistance: Not implement a new class that inherits from SURFACE/CURVE etc. (They would much prefer to solve it using the enum solution I stated above)

  • ISA forms authentication problems after installing moss sp2

    Guys I have a problem that's flared back up after installing WSS and MOSS service pack 2. The problem centers around the users being prompted to enter credentials when interacting with office documents. This problem came up before and I was able to go into ISA server and configure a persistent cookie on the web listener. As we all know when configuring a cookie you have two options use only on private computers or use on all computers. If I select use on all computers I can't even log in to Sharepoint from the forms page however if I select use only on private computer I'm able to log in and also I don't get prompted when opening office documents. So I would like to ask has something changed with Sharepoint service pack 2 because that’s the only change that’s been made to my environment.

  • SBS2003 OWA not displaying images on external side

    I've got an SBS 2003 server with companyweb/remote owa site. After authenticating remotely to the https:/servername/remote site, and then clicking on Use Outlook Web Access, the mail/owa site displays only limited amounts of data with Loading... displayed (see first image). This is different when viewing the site on the server itself (see second image). Different browsers will display different types of data (last screenshot is Chrome - first two are IE). I feel IIS permissions on the virtual directories is the cause, but not certain. Forms-based authentication etc is working ok etc. Any suggestions? Authentication and getting email via ActiveSync is not a problem. I don't want to break anything, and it's not a major problem because the users only get their email via outlook and iphones anyway without problems. I'm more interested in finding out for my own info so please give me some suggestions to try. Thanks for looking!

I need to add a QR Code to the signature but it will need to be different for 50 + people, so I cannot use the standard template. I could create a template for everyone individually, but I would like to know if there is a more efficient way of doing this?

  • IMAP email migration from Apptix to Office 365

    I am having issues setting up a migration from Apptix to Office 365 of 41 users in my company. I've found a couple guides on the Microsoft website about how to do it (Thank you Google) but I keep coming up with problems. I am trying to set up a mailbox migration through IMAP to get all of my users' emails over to Office 365 before we make the transition over from Apptix. One of the forums suggested using IMAP, since a CSV file can be uploaded to Office 365 and it will check for incoming mail for each user every 24 hours. My problem is that when I do this, I just get errors.     I have a brand new out of the box Dell PowerEdge T310 running SBS 2011. Our employees at our remote offices can't send emails to recipients outside of our own domain. The workstations at the same location as the server aren't having any problem. I would at this time like to say "Thanks a lot" to the super-minds at Microsoft for protecting our email server from rogue computers attempting to send fake emails. (Silly me I thought proper login and password conventions would handle that.) I know this is something dealing with relaying but thus far nothing from any posts I've read have changed anything. Honestly, if someone is crafty enough to guess one of our login/password combos, let them send emails through our server I don't care!

  • Active Sync Login Time Restriction

    Is there any other location restricting a user from accessing their emails from their phone using active sync, besides on a domain controller -active directory-user properties - account - logon hours. The user's logon hours are allowed all the time. To add to the mystery the user is an admin on the domain.(He seems not to be able to get emails from 7:00pm to 8:00pm) Its a Windows 2003 Server environment. Thanks for any help ahead of time.

  • Unable to access stackexchange sites from this system

    Earlier, I was not able to access most of the stackexchange sites like stackoverflow, programmers.SE etc. on my home Windows XP system. I was able to access only a few like http://meta.stackexchange.com and not even http://www.meta.stackexchange.com (note the www). I tried many other sites like http://www.stackoverflow.com, http://area51.stackexchange.com/ but was getting page not found errors on all browsers. Even pinging from terminal was saying destination host unreachable. I did not check recently but may be all SE sites are unreachable now. I was clueless about what could be the issue. I thought some firewall issue? So, I stopped AVG antivirus's firewall, then completely uninstalled it and even turned of windows firewall. But still not reachable even after fresh installation of Windows 7. Then I noticed a "Too many requests" notice on google. This page - http://www.google.co.in/sorry/?continue=http://www.google.co.in/# I don't know why this appeared but I guess somehow too many requests might have been sent to these sites and they blocked me. But in that case, SE would be smart enough to show a captcha like google. So, how to confirm the problem and fix it. Similar questions like these don't look solved yet - Unable to access certain websites Unable to Access Certain Websites I have lately started actively participating in lots of SE sites. There are new new questions popping up in my mind every time and I am not able to ask them. Please help! Thanks

    I have a Kyocera MFD. I have it set to scan to email using the ISP's SMTP server. The messages are delivered and received by the hosted email server. The POP connector on the SBS server downloads the messages, but delivers them to the badmail folder. I have given the message a subject and a body.   • How can I add Outlook Office to Add or Programs\Set Program Access and Defaults\Custom options?

    I have recreated a new email user on a Windows SBS 2003 Active Directory via Advanced Management. I need to enable Outlook Office access on the user's PC but Microsoft Outlook Office does not show in the Add Programs\Set Program Access\Custom section. There are tools that allow you to hide the icon for Set program access but I need to add content, specifically Outlook Office. Outlook Express is enabled but I don't need it.

  • View another persons calendar details in Outlook 2010

    I know how to view somebody else's calendar - there are 100 walk-throughs like this one on Google. However, this feature has changed in Outlook 2010, and you no longer get prompted for rights to view another person's calendar, and Outlook just displays their "Free/Busy" information, which doesn't help me. I'd like to request permissions to view the details of their appointments, but I can't find any place to request permissions on their calendar - Outlook 2010 just gives me "Free/Busy" rights and then appears to have no option to request additional rights. Can anybody point me in the right direction?
