  I have the following problem : I am given a tree with N apples, for each apple I am given it's weight and height,I can pick apples up to a given height H,each time I pick an apple the height of every apple is increased with U(also given).I have to find out the maximum weight of apples I can pick. e.g: N=4 H=100 U=10 (height-eight) apple1: 91 10 apple2: 82 30 apple3: 93 5 apple4: 94 15 The answer is 45 : I first pick the apple with the weight of 15 then the one with the weight of 30. I would like to know if someone here could help me with giving me an hint on how I should approach this problem. Thank you.

• Fluent NHibernate - Cascade delete a child object when no explicit parent->child relationship exists

  I've got an application that keeps track of (for the sake of an example) what drinks are available at a given restaurant. My domain model looks like: class Restaurant { public IEnumerable<RestaurantDrink> GetRestaurantDrinks() { ... } //other various properties } class RestaurantDrink { public Restaurant Restaurant { get; set; } public Drink { get; set; } public string DrinkVariety { get; set; } //"fountain drink", "bottled", etc. //other various properties } class Drink { public string Name { get; set; } public string Manufacturer { get; set; } //other various properties } My db schema is (I hope) about what you'd expect; "RestaurantDrinks" is essentially a mapping table between Restaurants and Drinks with some extra properties (like "DrinkVariety" tacked on). Using Fluent NHibernate to set up mappings, I've set up a "HasMany" relationship from Restaurants to RestaurantDrinks that causes the latter to be deleted when its parent Restaurant is deleted. My question is, given that "Drink" does not have any property on it that explicitly references RestaurantDrinks (the relationship only exists in the underlying database), can I set up a mapping that will cause RestaurantDrinks to be deleted if their associated Drink is deleted? Update: I've been trying to set up the mapping from the "RestaurantDrink" end of things using References(x => x.Drink) .Column("DrinkId") .Cascade.All(); But this doesn't seem to work (I still get an FK violation when deleting a Drink).

• How can I set a local branch to pull / merge from a particular remote branch?

  I have a local branch foo that started life as a branch off of master. Then I pushed it to my remote, and it's now happily living life with its siblings in remotes/origin I want pull to automatically pull from remotes/origin/foo, and I want status -sb to show me how many changes I am ahead of remotes/origin/foo. I thought the way to do this was git config branch.foo.merge 'refs/heads/foo' However, after doing that, I get this message: ? git status -sb ## foo ? git pull Your configuration specifies to merge with the ref 'foo' from the remote, but no such ref was fetched. What am I doing wrong?

• Flex: Create custom stroke on LineSeries?

  You can easily set a stroke on a line series like this: <mx:LineSeries yField="apple"> <mx:lineStroke> <mx:Stroke color="0x6699FF" weight="4" alpha=".8" /> </mx:lineStroke> </mx:LineSeries> This will set alpha for the entire stroke to .8 But I want to be able to set a different alpha on the stoke for each plot based on something in the dataProvider. For example the yField in the lineSeries is "Apple" which is how it knows where to plot for the lineSeries. I want to be able to add something like alphaField which tells it what to set the stroke alpha for each plot. so if my dataProvider was: <result month="Jan-04"> <apple>81768</apple> <alpha>1</alpha> </result> <result month="Feb-04"> <apple>51156</apple> <alpha>1</alpha> </result> <result month="Mar-04"> <apple>51156</apple> <alpha>.5</alpha> </result> And I set alphaField="alpha" then I would have a solid stroke from plot 0 to plot 1 and then a 50% alpha stroke from plot 1 to plot 2. How can I do this??? I am looking in the commitProperties() and updateDisplayList() methods of LineSeries and have no idea what would need to be added/changed to make this? I am pretty sure, this class has to use Graphics.lineTo() to draw each plot, so basically it would need to "get" the current alphaField value somehow, and apply a Graphics.lineStyle() with the correct alpha before drawing each line. Thanks!! UPDATE I have gotten much closer to my answer. When I extend LineRenderer I override updateDisplayList() which calls GraphicsUtilities.drawPolyLine() I extend GraphicsUtilities and override the method drawPolyLine() as this is where the line is actually drawn. I can call lineStyle() in here and change the alpha of the line... I still have 1 thing I cannot figure out, from within the drawPolyLine() method how can I access that data that dictates what the alpha should be? Thanks!!!!

  I am trying to implement a one-to-many relationship using NHibernate 2.1.2 but keep getting "Association references unmapped class" exceptions. I have verified that my hbm.xml files are embedded resource. Here are my classes and mappings. • PHP SimpleXML - Remove xpath node

  Hi, I'm a little confused as to how i can delete a parent node of something which i can find via an xpath search: $xml = simplexml_load_file($filename); $data = $xml->xpath('//items/info[item_id="' . $item_id . '"]'); $parent = $data[0]->xpath("parent::*"); unset($parent); So, it finds the item id, no problems there - but the unset isnt getting rid of this <items> node. All i want to do is remove the <items>...</items> for this product. Obviously, there are loads of <items> nodes in the xml file so it cant do unset($xml->data->items) as that would delete everything. Any ideas much appreciated :-)

• change font-size of nested elements in list

  Hi, I have a nested list of ul elements. I would like to decrease the font size by a couple of pixels for each level down. So for example the first li elements would have font size 18px, then nested elements of that would have font size 16px and any nested elements of that would have font size 14px etc. However once the font size gets to a certain size e.g. 8px I would like to stop making them any smaller. These lists are generated on the fly so I have no way of knowing how deep they are going to be so can't just hard code the css to a certain level. Is there a way in css or JQuery where I could apply this type of formatting?

• Correct use of WSDL-generated sources

  How can I easily convert between manually written classes and WSDL-generated equivalents? I have a Java SE 6 thick client that calls a web service to get and store data. The client has a DAO that works with my entity classes, calls <Entity.toDto() to convert them to DTOs, and sends/receives that data with the web service. My issue stems from the fact that the entity classes live on both sides of the service interface: client and server. Each entity has a constructor from the DTO and a toDto function: public class EntityClass { public EntityClass(EntityClassDto dto); public EntityClassDto toDto(); ... } This means I have a handwritten DTO class that the client and server both use. However, the service interface expects the WSDL-generated classes. I have tried writing conversion code between the hand-written DTO and the WSDL-generated DTO and it is tedious and error-prone. What is a reasonable alternative to this? Some back-story: The thick client should be able to have a configurable backend: either direct to the DB or through this web service. The aforementioned DAO is the web service based implementation and another imlpementation that is JPA-based exists.

  I'm thinking if there is a way to use javascript to pick up ANY ONE sentence from a textarea simply by clicking any position within that sentence. I'm thinking along the line of - first, get current cursor position (which I know how) - second, somehow locate the position of the previous fullstop and the next fullstop (how?) - take whatever content within the two fullstops. • JLabel which hides text after reaching certain length or number of values

  The purpose of the JLabel is to show who a message is to, like in a mail client e.g. To: John, Mary, Peter, Frank, Tom, Harry I will have the names in a vector so can build up a string from that and then set the label's text to this string. However it has the potential to get quite long. I was think it might be nice to have something like this: To: John, Mary, Peter, Frank, Tom, Harry, ... Then when you click on the '...', it will expand more or just show a tool tip if you mouse over the ... Yes this idea is stolen from Thunderbird! I am open to other ideas, don't have to use a JLabel. For example, if the user presses the "New Paragraph" button I would like to insert a double newline instead of just the standard single newline. How can I go about such? • NSMutableString leaks on append or replaceOccurrencesOfString

  Hello Folks, I know similar questions have been asked time and time again but I ask that you please bear with me as I cannot seem to find an answer that helps. My application has leaks that are driving me out of my mind. Actually, they are not reported as leaks using Leaks, but my net bytes in ObjectAlloc goes up and up and up and never stops, eventually leading to a crash if it goes on long enough (not very long). The problem occurs with NSMutableStrings. I think there is either something fundamental I don't understand about them, or I am facing another problem that I am having difficulty tracking down but keeps hiding behind the NSMutableStrings. Specifically, I am noticing that whenever I append to or perform a replace on a NSMutableString, ObjectAlloc reports what appear to be mismatches in malloc/frees behind the scene when resizing the NSMutableString. I'm sorry to say this is the second time I'm facing this problem - the first time I messed around for hours and hours and finally the problem went away (magic!) but I don't really know why. When I look at the code below (and believe me, I've stared at it for hours) I cannot see the problem. I look at the code and think to myself that I should be fine because I'm releasing the only object for which I am responsible (aString) and that NSMutableString should be taking care of cleaning up after any resizing it does. In the second example, just so you know in case it helps, the string being passed in comes from an ASIHTTPRequest object (it's the responseString) and I don't do anything at all with it. It's being called simply like so ([self DoStuff2:[request responseString]]) and I don't free the request myself either (I'm using a ASINetworkQueue and I assume that the requests are destroyed for me (I tried and caused errors because the request was already being release somewhere else). Also, I know it shouldn't do anything, but I even tried wrapping the code in autorelease pools, which of course did nothing. I should mention that this code is being run inside of an NSOperation. I thought that perhaps I am experiencing problems because NSOperations should create an autorelease pool for themselves, but I've tried that to no avail. Not related to NSMutableString, but I find I also have similar problems using the NSString componentsSeparatedByString method. Sometimes the memory used by the array that gets the separated components is never released. Hmmm...strings in general seem to be somewhat problematic for me it seems. I would appreciate ANY help anyone can provide. If you require more info, I'll be glad to add it. I do promise you that I've struggled with this (and other problems) for weeks and every problem I encounter I research hard and long until I find a solution - this is not an idle request, but a true cry for help! I've written so much code and now I'm trying to seal some small leaks etc and I notice this problem. Honestly, I cannot believe how memory management in Objective C can stump me so at times...I've read Apple's memory mgmt docs many times and I thought I thoroughly understood it and I try to be diligent about releasing objects I own, but sometimes I find myself wondering if I truly understand...I would like to put this to bed once and make sure I understand all this fully - to have this sort of question/problem after writing thousands of lines of code is more than a little scary/embarrassing/annoying. So again, if anybody has any insight, I'd be grateful. • Make JAXWS-based webservice implement interface and unmarshall to known POJOs

  Given a Java SE 6 client, I would like to provide a configurable back-end: either directly to a database or through a web service which connects to a centralized DB. To that end, I've created some JPA- and JAXB-annotated entity classes and a DAO interface in a POJO library like the following: public interface MyDaoInterface { public MyEntity doSomething(); } @javax.persistence.Entity @javax.xml.bind.annotation.XmlRootElement public class MyEntity { private int a; .... } Now, I would like to have my auto-generated web service stubs implement that interface and interact with my defined entity classes, rather than the generated classes provided via the JAX-B unmarshaller. So, the client-side pseudo code would be something like MyDaoInterface dao; if (usingWebservice) dao = new WebserviceDao(); else dao = new JpaDao(); MyEntity e = dao.doSomething(); Is this possible with JPA, JAXB, JAXWS? Is this even advisable? Currently we achieve this through a slow manual process of massaging code, copying generating classes, and doing other things that seem just plain wrong to me.

• Associating Worksheets with their Names using OpenXML SDK 1.0

  I'm using version 1.0 of Microsoft's OpenXML SDK to do some basic parsing of .xlsx files. I can get and parse the worksheets, and I can get a list of worksheet names, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to link up what name goes with what worksheet. I understand that an element like <sheet name="My Sheet" sheetId="1" r:id="rId1"/> in the workbook is linked up to a specific worksheet via the relationships defined in xl/_rels.xml, but I can't see where any of the relationship info is exposed in the API. I'm using C#, but any VB.NET examples would be just as helpful. I feel like this should be dead simple, but I can't figure it out. It also looks like it may be more straightforward in v2.0 of the SDK, but upgrading isn't an option at the moment.

I know a pivot table or series of forumlas could work but i'm doing this for a coworker and it has to be a 'one click here' kinda deal. The data is as follows. • Having trouble with Regular Expression and Ampersand

  Hi All, I'm having a bit of trouble with regex's (C#, ASP.NET), and I'm pretty sure I'm doing something fundamentally wrong. My task is to bind a dynamically created gridview to a datasource, and then iterate through a column in the grid, looking for the string "A&I". An example of what the data in the cell (in template column) looks like is: Name: John Doe Phone: 555-123-1234 Email: john[email protected] Dept: DHS-A&I-MRB Here's the code I'm using to find the string value: foreach(GridViewRow gvrow in gv.Rows) { Match m = Regex.Match(gvrow.Cells[6].Text,"A&I"); if(m.Success) { gvrow.ForeColor = System.Drawing.Color.Red; } } I'm not having any luck with any of these variations: "A&I" "[A][&][I]" But when I strictly user "&", the row does turn red. • rails: "unknown action" message when action is clearly specified

  hi, I had hard time to figure out why I've been getting "unknown action" error message when I was do some editing: Unknown action No action responded to 11. Actions: bin, create, destroy, edit, index, new, observe_new, show, tag, update, and vote you can see that Rails did mention each action in the above list - update. And in my form, I did specify action = "update".   I'm trying to add images to table cells in a grouped UITableView but the corners of the images are not clipped. What's the best way to go about clipping these (besides clipping them in Photoshop? The table contents are dynamic.)
