  • android unlock screen intent?

    Is there an intent that is fired when a user unlocks their screen? I want my app to adjust the brightness when the screen turns on, but the problem im running into is that the screen on intent is fired on the lock screen and it does not adjust the display on that screen.

  • Developing Windows (Vista/7) Gadgets

    Apart from seeming a few, I don't know much about how gadgets work. Are they special applications, or regular apps with special styled windows? I can't think of any app I use which has asked me if I want to install a gadget... I'd have thought any application which is typically left running all the time would be suitable... Skype/MSN for example. Am I misunderstanding the point of gadgets, or are they not popular?

  • GridView not DataBinding Automatically after ObjectDataSource Select Method

    I've created a objectadasource that returns a datatable, the gridview is binded to this datasource. the ODS have parameters assigned on the Page_Load event, and the ODS returns the data ok and the gridview shows it fine. the problem is i have a textbox with a filter. first I created a filterexpression in gridview, using the contents of the textbox, worked fine for me. but now I've enabled the paging in gridview. then the filterexpression is not useful now, since the ODS returns only the rows of the pagesize of gridview. I did a new ODS method that select data from parameters page and pagesize according to GridView, and it's OK. now my filter textbox passes his text property to a parameter of the ods select method, then the ods gets the data based on my filter and shows it in the grid. on the Page_Load: ObjectDataSource_Lista.SelectParameters["search"].DefaultValue = filter; ObjectDataSource_Lista.SelectParameters["id"].DefaultValue = ID.ToString(); but when I change the value of the filter, the grid doesn't refresh. on debugging. I see that the ODS Select Method is refreshed ok, but the GridView don't. So I need to call mannually the Databind() method of the grid, to refresh data. the problem is, I have a commandbutton on the grid, and if I manually databind(), the command button stops functioning, generating Page ValidateRequest errors. My question is: how to databind() the grid automatically after the datasource refreshed? ps: on the ODS Selected event, causes a infinite loop and the debug webserver crashes. Temporary solution: Created a Variable private bool wasdatabound; on the event GridView_Databound, set wasdatabound = true; on the Page_PreRenderComplete, if ((GridView1.Visible) && (!databounded)) GridView1.DataBind();

  • Ivy deletion of unwanted (older) artifacts from Ivy cache

    I have a local Artifactory repository in which I have two jars for commons-logging: one for version 1.0.4 and one for version 1.1.1. I'm experimenting with using Ivy to download the older one with an ant task (with the proper dependency tag in ivy.xml), and then I change the "rev" attribute of this dependency tag to 1.1.1. When using ivy:resolve in ant, this newer jar gets successfully downloaded to my cache, but the older one is not deleted automatically, and I'd like to make this happen. I can't figure out how to do so after looking at the Ivy documentation; does anyone know how to get Ivy to delete old versions of artifacts when newer ones are downloaded, either with the resolve task or something else?

    I have a table with something like the following: ID Name Color 1 Bob Blue 2 John Yellow 1 Bob Green 3 Sara Red 3 Sara Green What I would like to do is return a filtered list of results whereby the following data is returned: ID Name Color 1 Bob Blue 2 John Yellow 3 Sara Red i.e. I would like to return 1 row per user. (I do not mind which row is returned for the particular user - I just need that the [ID] is unique.) I have something already that works but is really slow where I create a temp table adding all the ID's and then using a "OUTER APPLY" selecting the top 1 from the same table, i.e. CREATE TABLE #tb ( [ID] [int] ) INSERT INTO #tb select distinct [ID] from MyTable select T1.[ID], T2.[Name], T2.Color from #tb T1 OUTER APPLY ( SELECT TOP 1 * FROM MyTable T2 WHERE T2.[ID] = T1.[ID] ) AS V2 DROP TABLE #tb Can somebody suggest how I may improve it?   • Jquery Flexigrid reload only if flexigrid initially ran

    Im trying to use flexigrid to show results using the values from a form. So when a person clicks a form I want it to load the flexigrid function if its the first time the person clicked the button to initialize the table. Then if someone adjusts the values in the form then clicks the button again it then reloads the flexigrid table with the new form values. How can I do this in one function?     Does anyone know if the International Assist feature on the iPhone works when dialing a number using the tel:// URL scheme from an application? For those unfamiliar, IA automatically prefixes the "+1" to US numbers when using the iPhone internationally. I know that this works when dialing from either the built-in Contacts or Phone apps, but can't find anything stating that it works when dialing numbers from an application. Also, is there any documentation as to whether this feature is included on Canadian (Rogers) or European iPhones (or is it only used by AT&T)? If IA does not work when dialing with a custom app, can someone point to the API that would allow me to detect that the use is roaming on a foreign network so I can essentially duplicate IA's functionality? Any help greatly appreciated!

    For all you compiler gurus, I wanna write a recursive descent parser and I wanna do it with just code. No generating lexers and parsers from some other grammar and don't tell me to read the dragon book, i'll come around to that eventually. I wanna get into the gritty details about implementing a lexer and parser for a reasonable simple langauge, say CSS. And I wanna do this right. This will probably end up being a series of questions but right now I'm starting with a lexer. Tokenization rules for CSS can be found here. I'm trying to balence something which is fair in terms of efficiency and easy to work with, using a stack to implement some kind of state machine is working quite well, but I'm unsure how to continue like this. What I have is an input stream, from which I can read 1 character at a time. I don't do any look a head right now, I just read the character then depending on the current state try to do something with that. I'd really like to get into the mind set of writing reusable snippets of code. This Transition method is currently means to do that, it will pop the current state of the stack and then push the arguments in reverse order. That way, when I write Transition(ParserState.SubIdent, ParserState.Init) it will "call" a sub routine SubIdent which will, when complete, return to the Init state. The parser will be implemented in much the same way, currently, having everyhing in a single big method like this allows me to easily return a token when I found one, but it also forces me to keep everything in one single big method. Is there a nice way to split these tokenization rules into seperate methods? Any input/advice on the matter would be greatly appriciated!

    I have a list box that scrolls images horizontally. I have the following XAML I used blend to create it. It originally had a x:Key on the Style TaregetType line, MSDN said to remove it, as I was getting errors on that. Now I'm getting this error: Error 3 Operation is not valid while ItemsSource is in use. Access and modify elements with ItemsControl.ItemsSource instead. I don't understand how to apply all of this junk that way, I've tried several thing, nothing is working. My goal is to have the selected item's background be white, not blue. Seems like a lot of work for something so small!   • How can I easily maintain a cross-file JavaScript Library Development Environment

    I have been developing a new JavaScript application which is rapidly growing in size. This technique has worked marvelously for me - as it has created only one global footprint in the DOM and has given me a very flexible framework to grow each additional feature of the application. However - I am reaching the point where I'd really rather not keep this entire application inside one JavaScript file. I'd like to move from having one large uniqueApplication.js file during development to having a separate file for each feature in the application, featureOne.js - featureTwo.js - featureThree.js Once I have completed offline development testing, I would then like to use something, perhaps Google Closure Compiler, to combine all of these files together - however I want these files to all be compiled inside of that scope, as they are when I have them inside one file - and I would like for them to remain in the same scope during offline testing too. I see that Google Closure Compiler supports an argument for passing in modules but I haven't really been able to find a whole lot of information on doing something like this. Anybody have any idea how this could be accomplished - or any suggestions on a development practice for writing a single JavaScript Library across multiple files that still only leaves one footprint on the DOM?

  • Location of New Window after old window closed

    I have an app that allows multiple windows. I have a strange bug where, if I repeatedly open and close windows, new windows are positioned lower and lower on the screen. I would expect this if I were keeping the windows open, but it seems that the OS X window tiling mechanism is unaware of when my windows are closing. Potentially relevant notes: I am using garbage collection. This is not a document-based app. When I close a window, the corresponding menu item is removed from the "Window" menu. Any hints as to what I might be doing wrong would be appreciated. Thanks!
