I am trying to run an old C++ code in Linux (Redhat). I am using gcc version 4.1.2. I got the following error: error: strstream.h: No such file or directory /trnuser1/rmtrain/DevelopmentEnv/Generic/CoreObjects/GCVTransformationServices.cpp:41: error: âostrstreamâ was not declared in this scope /trnuser1/rmtrain/DevelopmentEnv/Generic/CoreObjects/GCVTransformationServices.cpp:41: error: expected `;' before âstrDestXMLâ /trnuser1/rmtrain/DevelopmentEnv/Generic/CoreObjects/GCVTransformationServices.cpp:62: error: âstrDestXMLâ was not declared in this scope This code was running fine under Solaris with gcc version 2.95. The line pointed to by the error contains the following statement: ostrstream strDestXML; How do I solve this?

  • How to create unique user key

    - by Grayson Mitchell
Scenario: I have a fairly generic table (Data), that has an identity column. The data in this table is grouped (lets say by city). The users need an identifier in order for printing on paper forms, etc. The users can only access their cites data, so if they use the identity column for this purpose they will see odd numbers (e.g. a 'New York' user might see 1,37,2028... as the listed keys. Idealy they would see 1,2,3... (or something similar) The problem of course is concurrency, this being a web application you can't just have something like: UserId = Select Count(*)+1 from Data Where City='New York' Has anyone come up with any cunning ways around this problem?

  • C++: Switching from MSVC to G++: Global Variables

    - by feed the fire
I recently switched to Linux and wanted to compile my Visual Studio 2010 C++ source code, which uses only the STL, on G++. My Linux machine currently isn't available but I can try to tell you what is going on, first: As I try to compile my project, all global variables I use in main and which perfectly work on MSVC result in myGlobalVar is not defined in this scope errors. My project is built nearly the same as the example below: // myclass.h class myClass { // .... }; extern myClass globalInstance; // myclass.cpp #include "myclass.h" // myClass functions located here myClass globalInstance; // main.cpp #include "myclass.h" int main( ) { // Accessing globalInstance results in an error: Not defined in this scope } What am I doing wrong? Where are the differences between G++ and MSVC in terms of global variables?

  • Can you call FB.login inside a callback from other FB methods (like FB.getLoginStatus) without triggering popup blockers?

    - by Erik Kallevig
I'm trying to set up a pretty basic authentication logic flow with the FB JavaScript SDK to check a user's logged-in status and permissions before performing an action (and prompting the user to login with permissions if they are not)... User types a message into a textarea on my site to post to their Facebook feed and click's a 'post to facebook' button on my site. In response to the click, I check user's logged in status with FB.getLoginStatus In the callback to FB.getLoginStatus, if user is not logged in, prompt them to login (FB.login). In the callback to FB.login I then need to make sure they have the right permissions so I make a call to FB.api('/me/permissions') -- if they don't , I again prompt them to login (FB.login) The problem I'm running into is that anytime I try to call FB.login inside a callback to other FB methods, the browser seems to lose track of the origin of execution (the click) and thus will block the popup. I'm wondering if I'm missing some way to prompt the user to login after checking their status without the browser mistakenly thinking that it's not a user-initiated popup? I've currently fallen back to just calling FB.login() first regardless. The undesired side effect of this approach, however, is that if the user is already logged-in with permissions and I'm still calling FB.login, the auth popup will open and close immediately before continuing, which looks rather buggy despite being functional. It seems like checking a user's login status and permissions before doing something would be a common flow so I feel like I'm missing something. Here's some example code. <div onclick="onClickPostBtn()">Post to Facebook</div> <script> // Callback to click on Post button. function onClickPostBtn() { // Check if logged in, prompt to do so if not. FB.getLoginStatus(function(response) { if (response.status === 'connected') { checkPermissions(response.authResponse.accessToken); } else { FB.login(function(){}, {scope: 'publish_stream'}) } }); } // Logged in, check permissions. function checkPermissions(accessToken) { FB.api('/me/permissions', {'access_token': accessToken}, function(response){ // Logged in and authorized for this site. if (response.data && response.data.length) { // Parse response object to check for permission here... if (hasPermission) { // Logged in with permission, perform some action. } else { // Logged in without proper permission, request login with permissions. FB.login(function(){}, {scope: 'publish_stream'}) } // Logged in to FB but not authorized for this site. } else { FB.login(function(){}, {scope: 'publish_stream'}) } } ); } </script>

  • thread destructors in C++0x vs boost

    - by Abruzzo Forte e Gentile
Hi All These days I am reading the pdf Designing MT programs . It explains that the user MUST explicitly call detach() on an object of class std::thread in C++0x before that object gets out of scope. If you don't call it std::terminate() will be called and the application will die. I usually use boost::thread for threading in C++. Correct me if I am wrong but a boost::thread object detaches automatically when it get out of scope. Is seems to me that the boost approach follow a RAII principle and the std doesn't. Do you know if there is some particular reason for this? Kind Regards AFG

  • Python - a clean approach to this problem?

    - by Seafoid
Hi, I am having trouble picking the best data structure for solving a problem. The problem is as below: I have a nested list of identity codes where the sublists are of varying length. li = [['abc', 'ghi', 'lmn'], ['kop'], ['hgi', 'ghy']] I have a file with two entries on each line; an identity code and a number. abc 2.93 ghi 3.87 lmn 5.96 Each sublist represents a cluster. I wish to select the i.d. from each sublist with the highest number associated with it, append that i.d. to a new list and ultimately write it to a new file. What data structure should the file with numbers be read in as? Also, how would you iterate over said data structure to return the i.d. with the highest number that matches the i.d. within a sublist? Thanks, S :-)

  • Parent key of type encoded string?

    - by user246114
Hi, How do we create a parent key which is an encoded string? Example: class Parent { @PrimaryKey @Persistent(valueStrategy = IdGeneratorStrategy.IDENTITY) @Extension(vendorName="datanucleus", key="gae.encoded-pk", value="true") private String mEncKey; } class Child { @PrimaryKey @Persistent(valueStrategy = IdGeneratorStrategy.IDENTITY) @Extension(vendorName="datanucleus", key="gae.encoded-pk", value="true") private String mEncKey; // In the doc examples, they have Key as the type here. @Persistent @Extension(vendorName="datanucleus", key="gae.parent-pk", value="true") private String mParentEncKey; } yeah I'm not sure how to make mParentEncKey an encoded string type, because the 'key' label is already being used? I would need something like?: key="gae.parent-pk.encoded-pk" not sure - is that possible? Thanks

  • ASP.NET - How can I cache user details for the duration of their visit?

    - by rockinthesixstring
I've built a Repository that gets user details Public Function GetUserByOpenID(ByVal openid As String) As User Implements IUserRepository.GetUserByOpenID Dim user = (From u In dc.Users Where u.OpenID = openid Select u).FirstOrDefault Return user End Function And I'd like to be able to pull those details down IF the user is logged in AND IF the cached data is null. What is the best way to create a User object that contains all of the users details, and persist it across the entire site for the duration of their visit? I Was trying this in my Global.asax, but I'm not really happy using Session variables. I'd rather have a single object with all the details inside. Private Sub BaseGlobal_AcquireRequestState(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.AcquireRequestState If Session("UserName") Is Nothing AndAlso User.Identity.IsAuthenticated Then Dim repo As UrbanNow.Core.IUserRepository = New UrbanNow.Core.UserRepository Dim _user As New UrbanNow.Core.User _user = repo.GetUserByOpenID(User.Identity.Name) Session("UserName") = _user.UserName() Session("UserID") = _user.ID End If End Sub

  • pass parameter from controller to models condition

    - by Alex
    I'm trying to bind a param to a join via a named scope., but I'm getting an error. What is the correct way to do that? has_one :has_voted, :class_name => 'Vote', :conditions => ['ip = :userIp'] # named scopes scope :with_vote, lambda {|ip| { :include => [:has_voted], # like this ?? :conditions => [:has_voted => {:conditions => {:userIp => ip}} ] }} Idea.with_vote(request.ip).all I believe I need the condition definition in the model for it to appear in the ON clause of a JOIN, rather then in the WHERE one. Edit I'm trying to get the following query select Ideas.*, Votes.* from Ideas left outer join Votes on Votes.Idea_id = Idea.id AND Votes.ip = {request.ip}

  • Boost Shared Pointer: Simultaneous Read Access Across Multiple Threads

    - by Nikhil
I have a thread A which allocates memory and assigns it to a shared pointer. Then this thread spawns 3 other threads X, Y and Z and passes a copy of the shared pointer to each. When X, Y and Z go out of scope, the memory is freed. But is there a possibility that 2 threads X, Y go out of scope at the exact same point in time and there is a race condition on reference count so instead of decrementing it by 2, it only gets decremented once. So, now the reference count newer drops to 0, so there is a memory leak. Note that, X, Y and Z are only reading the memory. Not writing or resetting the shared pointer. To cut a long story short, can there be a race condition on the reference count and can that lead to memory leaks?

  • Unable to make WMI connection from XP Pro machine to another (not in domain, same workgroup) in C#

I have two XP Pro SP3 machines. I disabled the firewall in both. The workgroup name is WORKGROUP. I have an administrator account with identical username/password in both. My code to connect is the following: ConnectionOptions options = new ConnectionOptions(); options.Username = myUsername; options.Password = myPassword; options.Authority = "ntdlmdomain:WORKGROUP"; // Commenting this or not makes no difference ManagementScope scope = new ManagementScope(String.Format("\\\\{0}\\{1}", hostname, Namespace), options); scope.Connect(); I always get a System.UnauthorizedAccessException with the text: "Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))" The above code works between two machines that are part of the same AD domain. What am I doing wrong?

  • can I change my open ID URL change?

    - by dhruvbird
I wanted to know if I can change my open ID url from say: www.abc.com/username to www.pqr.com/username while the relying party still thinks I am the same user? or even say: www.abc.com/something/username to www.abc.com/somethingelse/username I intuitively think that this is not possible since if it were, then it is possible for anyone to spoof anyone else's identity. Also, does Open ID specify which fields the relying party should use to ensure secure determination of the user's identity? For example, I would expect it to club the URL provided with the username/email address sent back by the Open ID server.

  • javascript var declaration within loop

    hello, /*Test scope problem*/ for(var i=1; i<3; i++){ //declare variables var no = i; //verify no alert('setting '+no); //timeout to recheck setTimeout(function(){ alert('test '+no); }, 500); } it alerts "setting 1" and "setting 2" as expected, but after the timeout it outputs "test 2" twice - for some reason the variable "no" is not reset after the first loop... i've found only an "ugly" workaround... /*Test scope problem*/ var func=function(no){ //verify no alert('setting '+no); //timeout to recheck setTimeout(function(){ alert('test '+no); }, 500); } for(var i=1; i<3; i++){ func(i); } Any ideas on how to workaround this problem in a more direct way? or is this the only way?

  • Manager property is not available for Full Text Search (SharePoint 2010)

    - by Vijay
Hi, I had created a web part on MOSS 2007 which displays a organizational chart by searching (Full Text) the user profiles. To identify the subordinates of a user, I used to search for users with the particular user in Manager property. The query looked like this: SELECT AccountName, PreferredName, Manager, WorkEmail FROM scope() WHERE ("SCOPE" = 'People') AND Manager = 'domain\parent_user' But, the same query does not run in SharePoint 2010 as Manager crawled property does not exists. So, I created a new crawled property and mapped it to People:Manager(Text) now, the Manager property is always empty. Even a full crawl after clearing the indexes also not helping. Can anyone please help me in getting manager information in Full Text Search? Thanks in advance!

  • Team activity/game for illustrating design in a SCRUM environment

    - by njreed.myopenid.com
I'm looking for a team building / training activity for some of my scrum teams. I want something that really illustrates the flexibility that the team has when implementing stories to define the scope and complexity of the feature themselves. Most of the teams have long-term waterfall experience and are used to having a well-defined specification. I'm looking for something that illustrates the need for the team to vary the scope of what they are building themselves, dependent on the time and resources available. I couldn't find anything at tastycupcakes.com and Google wasn't much help. Maybe someone has prepared something themselves they would care to share?

  • Query to select from two different tables

I need to include a C header file in my C++ project but g++ throws "not declared in this scope" errors. I read that i need to use extern "C" keyword to fix it but it didn't seem to work for me. Here is a dummy example triggering this error. main.cpp: #include <iostream> extern "C" { #include "includedFile.h" } int main() { int a = 2; int b = 1212; std::cout<< "Hello World!\n"; return 0; } includedFile.h #include <stdint.h> enum TypeOfEnum { ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR = INT32_MAX, }; The error thrown is : $> g++ main.cpp In file included from main.cpp:4:0: includedFile.h:7:9: error: ‘INT32_MAX’ was not declared in this scope FOUR = INT32_MAX, I saw on this post that I may need #define __STDC_LIMIT_MACROS without any success. • DHCPDISCOVER requests from an off-by-one MAC address

    - by Aleksandr Levchuk
In a Linux DHCP server I'm getting a bunch of these log lines: dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:30:48:fe:5c:9c via eth1: network 192.168.2.0/24: no free leases I don't have any machines with 00:30:48:fe:5c:9c and I don't intend to give out an IP to 00:30:48:fe:5c:9c (whatever that could be). I tracked down the server that this is coming from and killed all the DHCP clients that were running but the DHCPDISCOVER requests do not stop. I can prove that this is the sending server by pulling the Ethernet cable - the requests stop. The strange thing is that the sending server only has 2 interfaces which are: 00:30:48:fe:5c:9a 00:30:48:fe:5c:9b What can be the cause of the off-by-one address? Who could be sending the requests? • Cannot ping host stale ARP cache?

    - by gkchicago
I am having a strange issue with a Debian (Lenny/Linux 2.6.26-2-amd64) that has been driving me nuts. On some machines within my network I can ping the host in question just fine, other times I have to manually hard-code the ARP ethernet address for the IP in order to establish connectivity. I've finally worked it down to somehow involving ARP. I just found how to fix it in a way that made it work but I'm looking for help explaining this issue and also I don't trust my fix to be permanent.. My thought process has been the following but I just can't make any sense out of it: Could it be the card? (Intel 82555 rev 4) Could it be because there are two network cards? (Default route is eth0) Could it be because of the network aliases? Lenny? AMD x86_64? Argh.. Thank you for any insight you might have // Ping doesn't go thru [gordon@ubuntu ~]$ ping 192.168.135.101 PING 192.168.135.101 (192.168.135.101) 56(84) bytes of data. --- 192.168.135.101 ping statistics --- 4 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 3014ms // Here's the ARP Table, sometimes the .151 address is good, sometimes it // also matches the Gateways MAC like .101 is doing right here. • Diagnosing packet loss / high latency in Ubuntu

    - by Sam Gammon
We have a Linux box (Ubuntu 12.04) running Nginx (1.5.2), which acts as a reverse proxy/load balancer to some Tornado and Apache hosts. The upstream servers are physically and logically close (same DC, sometimes same-rack) and show sub-millisecond latency between them: PING appserver (10.xx.xx.112) 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from appserver (10.xx.xx.112): icmp_req=1 ttl=64 time=0.180 ms 64 bytes from appserver (10.xx.xx.112): icmp_req=2 ttl=64 time=0.165 ms 64 bytes from appserver (10.xx.xx.112): icmp_req=3 ttl=64 time=0.153 ms We receive a sustained load of about 500 requests per second, and are currently seeing regular packet loss / latency spikes from the Internet, even from basic pings: sam@AM-KEEN ~> ping -c 1000 loadbalancer PING 50.xx.xx.16 (50.xx.xx.16): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from loadbalancer: icmp_seq=0 ttl=56 time=11.624 ms 64 bytes from loadbalancer: icmp_seq=1 ttl=56 time=10.494 ms ... many packets later ... Request timeout for icmp_seq 2 64 bytes from loadbalancer: icmp_seq=2 ttl=56 time=1536.516 ms 64 bytes from loadbalancer: icmp_seq=3 ttl=56 time=536.907 ms 64 bytes from loadbalancer: icmp_seq=4 ttl=56 time=9.389 ms ... many packets later ... Request timeout for icmp_seq 919 64 bytes from loadbalancer: icmp_seq=918 ttl=56 time=2932.571 ms 64 bytes from loadbalancer: icmp_seq=919 ttl=56 time=1932.174 ms 64 bytes from loadbalancer: icmp_seq=920 ttl=56 time=932.018 ms 64 bytes from loadbalancer: icmp_seq=921 ttl=56 time=6.157 ms --- 50.xx.xx.16 ping statistics --- 1000 packets transmitted, 997 packets received, 0.3% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 5.119/52.712/2932.571/224.629 ms The pattern is always the same: things operate fine for a while (<20ms), then a ping drops completely, then three or four high-latency pings (1000ms), then it settles down again. Traffic comes in through a bonded public interface (we will call it bond0) configured as such: bond0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:xx:xx:xx:xx:5d inet addr:50.xx.xx.16 Bcast:50.xx.xx.31 Mask:255.255.255.224 inet6 addr: <ipv6 address> Scope:Global inet6 addr: <ipv6 address> Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MASTER MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:527181270 errors:1 dropped:4 overruns:0 frame:1 TX packets:413335045 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:240016223540 (240.0 GB) TX bytes:104301759647 (104.3 GB) Requests are then submitted via HTTP to upstream servers on the private network (we can call it bond1), which is configured like so: bond1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:xx:xx:xx:xx:5c inet addr:10.xx.xx.70 Bcast:10.xx.xx.127 Mask:255.255.255.192 inet6 addr: <ipv6 address> Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MASTER MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:430293342 errors:1 dropped:2 overruns:0 frame:1 TX packets:466983986 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:77714410892 (77.7 GB) TX bytes:227349392334 (227.3 GB) Output of uname -a: Linux <hostname> 3.5.0-42-generic #65~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Oct 2 20:57:18 UTC 2013 x86_64 GNU/Linux We have customized sysctl.conf in an attempt to fix the problem, with no success.
