  • how to add a sharethis button to my flash file?

    - by Matthew
Hello guys, I have been searching for this solution for some time have not found any good solid solutions. Everything I have seen is either 2 years old and does not work. What I would like to do is use a MC in my flash file to act like a button and when clicked open the sharethis pop up to share this particular video's url. The site API docs really don't touch on Flash working with sharethis. Any help would do. Thanks, Matt

  • Drag and Drop from Flash/Flex to HTML and Vice-Versa...

    - by jsight
Is there a library simplifying the process of dragging and dropping between the Flash/Flex environment and the surrounding browser? I've done some research on the process, and so far the closest thing that I have found is from HTML to Flash in a Floorplanning application. I have yet to find a demo going in the other direction however. Is there a simpler way to do this now?

  • How easy is it to write a Flash app and what tools are needed?

    - by J Lynch
I have been wanting to learn to write a Flash app so that it can be embedded inside a webpage. But is it hard to write one, say, just to show a circle bouncing around the walls of the 4 sides of the Flash window (no gravity, but just like the dot in the game "Pong"), and what tools are needed (and are they free?). Thanks very much.

  • How to insert Flash without JavaScript in the most compatible but valid way?

    - by Andreas Gohr
I'm looking for a way to embed Flash into a XHTML Transitional page that does not rely on enabled JavaScript, which validates and that works across all major Browsers including IE6. So far I'm using this solution which seems to work just fine: http://latrine.dgx.cz/how-to-correctly-insert-a-flash-into-xhtml#toc-final-solution However, when this method is used in an RSS Feed it seems that Feedburner and Google Reader at least (maybe other feed readers, too) strip the whole object tags and only leave the alternative content. Any suggestions how to improve this?

  • Is it possible to turn a string with base64 encoded image data into a displayable image in flash lit

    - by ezicus
I have tried using a data URI to load the image data into a movie clip, but flash lite does not appear to support the data URI scheme. I also thought it might be possible to base64 decode the image data and write it out to a file and load the file back into the movie clip using the file URI scheme. However, I do not see a way to write to the filesystem in the documentation. Am I missing something in the flash lite docs that would allow me to write to the filesystem?

  • Resizing of AS-based Flash app from FireFox vs. IE...

    - by bferster
I have put in some controls to allow users to resize my Flash app via Javascript: document.getElementById("flashApp").height*=1.25; document.getElementById("flashApp").width*=1.25; This works great in IE/Safari, but is ignored in Firefox. I know it's talking the the flash app and gets and sets the height/width vars ok, but the same code run in FireFox ignores the scaling. (It's not the DOC spec issue) Any thoughts? Bill

  • In what situations does Flash SWF misbehaves in different browsers.

    - by coderex
Hi, Recently I had some issues with Flash in IE, involving a SWF which is something like a gallery. In Firefox its loads perfectly, but in IE it doesn't work properly sometimes. The first time it is loaded its works fine but when I refresh all the images are blank. The image data came from XML. I wish to get some tips regarding the browsers and Flash / SWF behavior in each. Thanks in advance.

  • External API function calls AS3 control timeline

    - by giles
    I have function problem using this code (below), the embedded flash movieclip disappears or completely prevents the scrollto.js query to function in DW cs3. Communication between Flash and JavaScript is without problems, it is the call back I can't find to work and more frustratingly, should be simple, as no values are not required. So far, this has been hours of scouring the net without a workable end in sight...ahrr. What is a function for this to work? JavaScript – to call Flash event from HTML button link, placed between head tags function callExternalInterface() var flashMovie = window.document.menu; flashMovie.menu_up(value); menu_up is the string. Does anyone know of workable function for callback?? HTML <div id="btn_up"><a href="#top" name="charDev" id="charDev" onclick="">top</a></div> Pane navigation div that uses Scrollto.js query, and it's this link I need calling back to the embedded "menubtns.swf" (nested in "AS3Menu_javascript.swf") to play 5 frames of this movieclip, via a JS function. Embedded .swf code, using swfobject.js with allowScriptAccess=always <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" name="menu"<br/> width="251" height="251" id="menu"> <param name="movie" value="../~Assets/Flash/AS3Menu_javascript.swf" /> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /> <param name="movie" value="ExternalInterfaceScript.swf" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="../~Assets/Flash/AS3Menu_javascript.swf" width="250" height="250"> <p>Alternative content</p> </object> </object> AS3 / Flash import flash.external.ExternalInterface;flash.system.Security.allowDomain(/sourceDomain/); ExternalInterface.addCallBack("menu_up", this, resetmenu); function resetmenu(){ gotoAndPlay:("frame label" / "number") }

  • Django caching seems to be causing problems

    - by Issy
Hey guys, i have just implemented the Django Cache Local Memory back end in some my code, however it seems to be causing a problem. I get the following error when trying to view the site (With Debug On): Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/django/core/servers/basehttp.py", line 279, in run self.result = application(self.environ, self.start_response) File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/django/core/servers/basehttp.py", line 651, in __call__ return self.application(environ, start_response) File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/django/core/handlers/wsgi.py", line 245, in __call__ response = middleware_method(request, response) File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/django/middleware/cache.py", line 91, in process_response patch_response_headers(response, timeout) File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/django/utils/cache.py", line 112, in patch_response_headers response['Expires'] = http_date(time.time() + cache_timeout) TypeError: unsupported operand type(s) for +: 'float' and 'str' I have checked my code, for caching everything seems to be ok. For example, i have the following in my middleware. MIDDLEWARE_CLASSES = ( 'django.contrib.sessions.middleware.SessionMiddleware', 'django.contrib.auth.middleware.AuthenticationMiddleware', 'django.middleware.cache.UpdateCacheMiddleware', 'django.middleware.common.CommonMiddleware', 'django.middleware.cache.FetchFromCacheMiddleware', 'django.contrib.flatpages.middleware.FlatpageFallbackMiddleware', ) My settings for Cache: CACHE_BACKEND = 'locmem://' CACHE_MIDDLEWARE_SECONDS = '3600' CACHE_MIDDLEWARE_KEY_PREFIX = 'za' CACHE_MIDDLEWARE_ANONYMOUS_ONLY = True And some of my code (template tag): def get_featured_images(): """ provides featured images """ cache_key = 'featured_images' images = cache.get(cache_key) if images is None: images = FeaturedImage.objects.all().filter(enabled=True)[:5] cache.set(cache_key, images) return {'images': images} Any idea what could be the problem, from the error message below it looks like there's an issue in django's cache.py?

  • .NET MVC What is the best way to disable browser caching?

    - by Chameera Dedduwage
As far as my research goes, there are several steps in order to make sure that browser caching is disabled. These HTTP headers must be set: Cache-Control: no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate, proxy-revalidate Pragma: no-cache, no-store Expires: -1 Last-Modified: -1 I have found out that this can be done in two ways: Way One: use the web.config file <add name="Cache-Control" value="no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate, proxy-revalidate"/> <add name="Pragma" value="no-cache, no-store" /> <add name="Expires" value="-1" /> <add name="Last-Modified" value="-1" /> Way Two: use the meta tags in _Layout.cshtml <meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate, proxy-revalidate" /> <meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache, no-store" /> <meta http-equiv="Expires" content="-1" /> <meta http-equiv="Expires" content="-1" /> My Question: which is the better approach? Or, alternatively, are they equally acceptable? How do these all relate to different platforms? Which browsers would honor what headers? In addition, please feel free to add anything I've missed, if any.

  • The clock hands of the buffer cache

Over a leisurely beer at our local pub, the Waggon and Horses, Phil Factor was holding forth on the esoteric, but strangely poetic, language of SQL Server internals, riddled as it is with 'sleeping threads', 'stolen pages', and 'memory sweeps'. Suddenly, however, my attention was grabbed by his mention of the 'clock hands of the buffer cache'....Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? We already have over 80 articles in several categories including Silverlight. Take a look: here.

  • Using the fsc mount option with nfsroot kernel parameter to allow FS-cache

    - by meanderix
I'm PXE-booting a Ubuntu 10.10 system, where I specify the kernel parameters as follows: append root=/dev/nfs initrd=ubuntu-boot/initrd.img-2.6.35-24-generic nfsroot=11.22.33.44:/data/nfsroot,fsc ip=dhcp rw I need to use the mount option 'fsc' in order to use FS-cache functionality (the cachefilesd package.) However, when I try this I get the following error upon boot: nfsmount: bad option 'fsc' Why doesn't nfsmount permit this option? (It works fine when you mount manually with "mount -o fsc" after booting up.)

  • GlynnTucker.Cache

    - by csharp-source.net
The GlynnTucker.Cache assembly provides a data structure for caching slow data retrievals, for example data retrieved from a database server over the network. Think of it as a Hashtable that can automatically expire its data after a set amount of time or a specified period of inactivity, on a per-object basis. It is written in C# and dual licensed under the GPL/MPL, it should work with any .NET language.

  • SQL Monitor Performance Metric: Buffer Cache Used Per Database in MB

Data pages read from disk are placed in the buffer pool with the intention that they will be reused, and accessing them from RAM is faster than from disk. Knowing how much of your RAM is committed to each database can help you provision the right amount of RAM to SQL Server, and also to identify rogue queries that draw too much data into RAM and force data from other databases out of the cache. Deployment Manager 2 is now free! The new version includes tons of new features and we've launched a completely free Starter Edition! Get Deployment Manager here
