• How do I get basic ProxyPass to work on Apache 2.2.17?

  I'm trying to get around the ERR_UNSAFE_PORT restriction in Chrome by making Apache reverse proxy other HTTP servers on the machine. I load mod_proxy with sudo e2enmod proxy I add ProxyPass /znc/ http://localhost:6667/ to my httpd.conf I restart Apache with sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart When I open up /znc/, I get 500 Internal Server Error.   I'm trying to add the RRAS VPN roles into my server 2012 box. The error I am getting is: install-windowsfeature : The request to add or remove features on the specified server failed. Installation of one or more roles, role services, or features failed. One or several parent features are disabled so current feature can not be enabled. • SCVMM 2012 R2 - Installing Virtual Switch Fails with Error 2916

  So I've been attempting to teach myself SCVMM 2012 and Hyper-V Server 2012 R2, and I seem to have hit a snag. I've connected my Hyper-V Host to SCVMM 2012 successfully, and created a logical network, logical switch, and uplink port profile (which I essentially blew through with the default settings). However when I attempt to create a virtual switch on my Hyper-V host, I run into an issue. The job will use my logical network settings I created to configure the virtual switch, but when it tries to apply it to the host, it stalls and eventually fails with the following error: Error (2916) VMM is unable to complete the request. The connection to the agent vmhost1.test.loc was lost. WinRM: URL: [h**p://vmhost1.test.loc:5985], Verb: [GET], Resource: [h**p://schemas.microsoft.com/wbem/wsman/1/wmi/root/virtualization/v2/Msvm_ConcreteJob?InstanceID=2F401A71-14A2-4636-9B3E-10C0EE942D33] Unknown error (0x80338126) Recommended Action Ensure that the Windows Remote Management (WinRM) service and the VMM agent are installed and running and that a firewall is not blocking HTTP/HTTPS traffic. Ensure that VMM server is able to communicate with econ-hyperv2.econ.loc over WinRM by successfully running the following command: winrm id –r:vmhost1.test.loc This problem can also be caused by a Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service crash. If the server is running Windows Server 2008 R2, ensure that KB 982293 (h**p://support.microsoft.com/kb/982293) is installed on it. If the error persists, restart vmhost1.test.loc and then try the operation again. Refer to h**p://support.microsoft.com/kb/2742275 for more details.   What exactly is the CPU Average field in VMM 2012 showing me? I'm running Server 2008 R2 with VMM 2012. My server has 2x16 core CPUs installed. An example virtual machine has 4 virtual processors, and shows 20% CPU usage. Is that: 20% of the entire system's available CPU power? 20% of 4 of the 32 core's CPU power? 20% of one core's CPU? (in which case it could go as high as 400%) Something else entirely? How can I tell how much of the entire system's CPU power is being used (all 32 cores)? Edit: Well, I can tell for sure it's not 20% of the entire system's CPU power - since the entire server's CPU averages add up to well over 100% right now.

• SCCM 2012 R2 - OSD Task Sequence failure on physical computers

  I'm trying to deploy windows 7 with SCCM 2012 R2 to physical desktops and laptops. But the task sequence keeps failing, no matter what I try. When I try it on a VM it works fine. However, when I try it on a physical computer it fails. So I think it has something to do with drivers, but I already tried both the "auto apply drivers" + wmi query for model method, and also the "apply driver package" + wmi query for model method. In the link below I added a zip file, containing two other zip files. One is a captured log from a failed osd on a desktop, the other is the export of my task sequence. Download zip-file with log and TS If anyone could resolve the issue, or share their own task sequence for such a task (pure sccm 2012 (R2), no MDT), that would be great.

• Migrating Windows 2008 R2 to Windows 2012 (migrate all FSMO too)

  I own 2 server with Windows 2008 R2, both DC. The first one is of course the Primary DC (with all FSMO). What I would like to do is ro dcdemote the 2nd DC, remove it from domain and replace the Windows 2008 r2 with 2012. I will then rejoin this 2nd DC (with the new 2012 server) to domain and dcpromo it (Server Management). After this is a new DC I would like to temporary transfer all the FSMO to this server, while I'm doing the same operation on what is actually the Primary DC. Is this a stupid solution? What I would like to do is a clean installation, I don't want to upgrade directly those systems. Suggestions? Ideas? Thanks, Mauro

• Hyper-V 2012 and P2000 SAS SAN

  Hi I am having major problems setting up a Hyper-V 2012 cluster on a P2000 SAS SAN. Running System Center VMM 2012 SP1 I am unable to see any storage to create my cluster. Has anyone had experienced anything similar? Under fabric and storage I can't add the P2000, all I can do is use storage spaces in server manager to create a storage pool and virtual disk. This allows me to create a file share which I can add to VMM but I still can't see any disk to create a cluster. I am just about at the point where I want to tear my hair out wipe the servers and stick VMware on them because I know it works as I have set several systems up like this in the past. The Hyper-V servers can see the storage and in server manager on my management machine it seems to know both servers can see the same disk. VMM is running on the same machine and it can't see any disk. Help..... Thanks Mike

The prerequisites clearly show that Sharepoint 2010 SP1 is needed, which we have installed. However after when trying to install the SQL Server portion we consistently fail the rule SharePoint version requirement for PowerPivot for SharePoint' validation in theSQL Server` install process.   I am trying to setup Anywhere Access on a Windows Server 2012 Essential Release Candidate, but keep getting this error: "The domain name was not setup for your server. Wait a few minutes and run the wizard again. An unknown error occurred. Please wait a few minutes and then try again". These are the options that I selected in the Wizard: I want to set up a new domain name Get a personalized domain name from Microsoft Entered my Windows live id and password xxxx.remotewebaccess.com And on the next page the error is displayed. I have setup my router (Linksys WRT160N) to forward all TCP traffic to the Server. UPnP is also enabled. If I hit my public (dynamic) IP (http://188.182.194.182/) I get the Windows Server 2012 homepage. Any ideas?

  We want to migrate our current TFS 2010 solution that's hosted today in one of our own servers to TFS 2012 hosted somewhere else. We don't want to handle the servers any more, and therefor are looking at alternatives. TFS preview / Azure is one alternative, hosted in the cloud, but I'm not that happy with forcing users to use live id, and we don't have an AD. My second thought was to create a Azure virtual mashine, and there install and host TFS 2012. Is there any downsides with this? Compared to the price of bying a VPS this is cheap and feels reliable in Azure? Do you have any other ideas?

  I'm trying to set up MSSQL 2012 for a school project and I need to be able to connect to it remotely as my teammates will also be working on it. I did a clean install of SQL Server 2012 Express. Knowing I can't connect remotely straight off, I tweaked the settings that needed tweaking according to the internet. What I did 1.Made sure remote connections were allowed 2.Enabled TCP/IP 3.Removed 0s from Dynamic ports and set 1433 in TCP Port 4.Enabled Named Pipes 5.Created Outbound and Inbound traffic rules in the firewall for TCP port 1433 and UDP port 1434 6.Port forwarded 1433 to my "server" and 1434 too 7.made sure I was pingable 8.SQL Server authentication is enabled 9.I have restarted my computer so that changes to the config are saved So whenever I try to connect using management studio on another computer than the server using myusername.dyndns.org\SQLEXPRESS I get error 26 I have been searching for different solutions for 3 hours with no luck.

• The Message Queuing service failed to join the computer's domain 'DOMAIN' Error 0xc00e0025

  Struggling to get MSMQ installed in Domain Integration mode on Windows 2012 (Azure). So far, I've provisioned a brand new Windows Server 2012 (R2) machine on the Azure platform and installed the Active Directory role and promoted the machine to a domain controller. Once the AD was in place, I then added the MSMQ feature, along with the Directory Integration add on. However, it will not install in AD integration mode. It will only work in Workgroup mode. I can verify this by running the following powershell command: New-MSMQQueue -name Queue1 -queuetype Public When I run this command, I get the following error: New-MsmqQueue : A workgroup installation computer does not support the operation. The event viewer reveals to errors in the Application log: 1. The Message Queuing service failed to join the computer's domain 'DOMAIN'. Error 0xc00e0025: 2. Message Queuing was unable to create the msmq (MSMQ Configuration) object in Active Directory Domain Services. Error c00e0025h: I'm struggling here. Any advice?

  We have recently started testing Remote Desktop Services. We have deployed the environment using the latest server, Windows Server 2012 R2. We have deployed the Web Access Roles, RD Gateway, Connection Broker Virtualization Host and Session Host. We are running both, Virtual machine-based and Session-based deployments. All of these are working as expected internally and externally when using a Windows workstation as the RDS client, however, the Android client is unable to launch applications. Once you install the app from Google Play you are given a screen to add Remote Resources. After entering the appropriate URL, username and password we see the applications that have been published. Unfortunately, when we attempt to launch an app we get the following error: Connection Error Host not found. Please provide the fully-qualified name or the IP address of the host. We have already entered this information otherwise I don't believe we would be able to see the published applications. I think the error is related to the certificate and how it is being used to connect to the applications. Since this is in our lab environment we have not configured a valid external certificate on the servers and the trusted certificate that is installed on the android tablet points to our internal server / domain name. What I would like to know: Has anyone configured RDS Web Access on Server 2012 R2 and attempted to externally connect an Android or iOS device using the Microsoft supported Remote Desktop client. Are others experiencing the same problem we are? Were you able to resolve the issue? Was it related to the external cert / host name?

• Using SSIS Web Service Task with WCF

  Hello, I am using SQL Server 2008 SSIS for importing data to the DB and .Net 3.5 SP1 for Creating the WCF service. In the import task I am trying to use the Web Service Task to report to a WCF service. At first I encountered a problem with the WCF WSDL, the Web Service task couldn't get their code generated from the metadata exposed by the WCF service. So I found a blog post at Christian Weyer's Blog talking just about that. Now after I can successfully load a WCF service to the Web Service Task and get the functions generated just fine from the WSDL I encountered another problem. I get an error from the SSIS package at runtime saying that "Method 'ProxyNamespace.MyService.GetData' not found." The full Error is: Error: 0xC002F304 at Web Service Task False, Web Service Task: An error occurred with the following error message: "Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebserviceTaskException: Could not execute the Web method. The error is: Method 'ProxyNamespace.MyService.GetData' not found.. at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebMethodInvokerProxy.InvokeMethod(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection) at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTaskUtil.Invoke(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection, VariableDispenser taskVariableDispenser) at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTask.executeThread()". • Filemaker to SQL Server via SSIS

  I'm using SSIS and trying to import data from Filelmaker into SQL Server. In the Solution Explorer, I right click on "SSIS Packages" and select SQL Server Import and Export Wizard". During the process, I use my DSN as the source, SQL Server as the destination, use a valid query to pull data from Filemaker, and set the mappings. Each time I try to run the package, I receive the following message: The "output column "LastNameFirst" (12)" has a length that is not valide. The length must be between 0 and 4000. I do not understand this error exactly, but in the documentation for ODBC: http://www.filemaker.com/downloads/pdf/fm9%5Fodbc%5Fjdbc%5Fguide%5Fen.pdf (page 47) it states: "The maximum column length of text is 1 million characters, unless you specify a smaller Maximum number of characters for the text field in FileMaker. FileMaker returns empty strings as NULL." I'm thinking that the data type is too large when trying to convert it to varchar. But even after using a query of SUBSTR(LastNameFirst, 1, 2000), I get the same error. Any suggestions?

I found formula's (both array as non-array) that handle this for a fixed range, but I want to have the results in another column per week number.   Hi all, I'm trying to paramaterize some queries in SSIS. After some reading, it sounds like my best option is to create one variable that contains my base sql, another that contains my criteria and a final variable that is evaluated as an expression that includes both of these. I want to end up with an SQL query that is effectively UPDATE mytable set something='bar' where something_else='foo' So my first two variables have the scope of my package and are as follows: Name: BaseSQL Data Type: String Value: UPDATE mytable set something = 'bar' where something_else = Name: MyVariable Data Type: String Value: foo My third variable has a scope of the data flow task where I want to use this SQL and is as follows: Name: SQLQuery Data Type: String Value: @[User::BaseSQL] + "'" + @[User::MyVariable] + "'" EvaluateAsExpression: True In the OLE DB Source, I then choose my connection and 'SQL command from variable' and select User::SQLQuery from the dropdown box. The Variable Value window then displays the following: @[User::BaseSQL] + "'" + @[User::MyVariable] + "'" This is as desired, and would provide the output I want from my DB. The variable name dropdown also contains User::BaseSQL and User::MyVariable so I believe that my namespaces are correct. However, when I then click preview, I get the following error when configuring an OLE DB Source (using SQL command from variable): TITLE: Microsoft Visual Studio Error at Set runtime in DB [Set runtime in myDb DB [1]]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E14. An OLE DB record is available. • What does error 0xC02020C4 mean in SSIS?

  I get this error with this description. Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_PRIMEOUTPUTFAILED. The PrimeOutput method on component "OLE DB Source" (1) returned error code 0xC02020C4. The component returned a failure code when the pipeline engine called PrimeOutput(). The meaning of the failure code is defined by the component, but the error is fatal and the pipeline stopped executing. There may be error messages posted before this with more information about the failure.

  Hi Guys, I am having an ongoing and painful problem with an SSIS package. The package runs every 5 minutes as an SQL Agent Job and every 2-10 days the package will start running and never stop (thus preventing further executions). If I stop the hung job manually it will begin working perfectly again in the next 5 minute interval. The SSIS package is for moving data from an Oracle database to a MSSQL 2005 database. It has 7 steps: Step 1 calls an Oracle Stored Procedure to prepare the temporary tables inside ORACLE Steps 2-6 process the data from the ORACLE tables to the MSSQL tables ORACLE - MSSQL Step 7 calls an Oracle Stored Procedure to clear the ORACLE temporary tables I suspect that the issue is caused by a communications error between the MSSQL server and the ORACLE server. Both the MSSQL database and Agent/package run on one machine with the ORACLE database running over the network. These messages show the entire log generated for the failed run, for a successful run the output is typically ~2500 lines. I can see that the package is hanging during the initialize operation on the Callista connection (ORACLE database). I have not been able to work out a way to either fix this issue or have the package die gracefully (an error to the log would be A-OK with me). Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
