  • Why input elements don't render the value passed in ASP.Net MVC?

    This post asks this question but doesn't really give an answer, so I thought I would ask the question differently. I have a page that renders a hidden value from the model: <%=Html.Hidden("myName", model.myValue) %> Since I am passing a value in the value parameter, you would think it would output that value, but it doesn't. The code for rendering input fields has the following: string attemptedValue = (string)htmlHelper.GetModelStateValue(name, typeof(string)); tagBuilder.MergeAttribute("value", attemptedValue ?? ((useViewData) ? htmlHelper.EvalString(name) : valueParameter), isExplicitValue); Basically, if the ModelState (which contains posted values) contains a value for the "name" passed, it will use that value instead of your passed value to the helper method. In my case, I updated the model and my updated value wasn't outputted. If I pass a value to a method, I expect that value to be rendered. Am I missing something in this design or is it just wrong?

    Hi There, I am using Myfaces and Trinidad tld's for page design. In that, I am trying to implement Dialog box which will going to open on button click with tacking some value from parent window and return result to Parent window. Now the problem is I can send value to Dialog box and also get return from dialog box successfully, but there is problem to show return value on Parent window because parent window is not reflecting that value and ask for refresh page. When I refresh page, it again open the pop up, i.e. it resending the previous request. But once I remove partialSubmit="true" attribute from comment button which shows dialog box, Then I can see dialog box. Is this attribute making an above error? I hope I have explain my problem clearly. Please...Please let me know any any kind of solution, suggestion. I have spend almost a week to resolve this issue, but.......didn't succeed.     I have an object which is creating several event handlers using lambda expressions, and I need to remove all handlers created in that object in one time. I'm trying to create some unified static object which will 'know' which handler relates to which object and event if event handler was created through this static object. I mean not "myfunction's value" hmmm, let me explain, myfunction(1,2) returns 1+2=3 if I type alert(myvalue) it returns 3 but I need myfunction(a,b) AS IT'S TYPED when I use alert. Is there a way to correct this so that jquery checks if this is set on the page load?

    It seems the number Datatype handles zeros and nulls the same. I need to display a zero value on the screen, but AS displays nothing. When it's saved, the value is saved as a zero, and therefore shows up zero on the screen. Is there a way to display the zero value using a new object? public class myObject{ private var numVar:Number } My AS file: var temp:MyObject temp.numVar = 0; When I debug, temp.numVar contains a value of 0, but does not show anything on the UI. If this object is then saved to the DB, and then displayed to the UI, it shows a 0. My question is - how do I get temp.numVar to display 0 before persistenting it to the DB?

    I'm convinced this must be a common problem, but I can't seem to find a simple solution... I want to use a combobox control with name value pairs as the items. ComboBox takes TStrings as its items so that should be fine. Unfortunately the drawing method on a combobox draws Items[i] so you get Name=Value in the box. I'd like the value to be hidden, so I can work with the value in code, but the user sees the name. Any Ideas?
