  One of the most common questions I receive in email is how to group multiple column data in comma separate values in a single row grouping by another column. I have previously blogged about it in following two blog posts. However, both aren’t addressing the following exact problem. • Is there a path from OpenSCAD to WebGL?

  tl;dr version, Does a software path exist to convert from openscad input to render on a website via webgl? What I'm trying to do is display OpenSCAD created designs uploaded via post on a LEMPy driven website; this is currently done by outputting to a static png image. I would like to render one of openscad's export formats(wikibooks) and convert for display in javascript/webgl through some software path available via linux batch. CPU and RAM are relatively unconstrained but no GPU available. I've looked into CopperLeicht, but it requires CopperCube output which would require windows or wine. FOSS is preferred but not required. edit: I found three.js has converters for fbx, dae, obj, and 3ds formats which might be helpful as one of the last steps.

• Deferred rendering with both Clockwise and CounterClockwise culling

  I have a deferred rendering system that works well with objects that appear solid and drawn using CounterClockwise culling. I have a problem with Clockwise culled objects that are supposed to represent hollow that display their inside faces only. The image below shows a CounterClockwise culled object (left) Clockwise culled object (right). The Clockwise culled object faces display what would be displayed on the CounterClockwise face. How can I get the lighting to light the inner faces for Clockwise culled objects and continue lighting the outer CounterClockwise faces as normal? • Why is "googlehosted.com" in the DNS records for our website after signing up for DDOS protection?

  Recently we had to get some DDOS protection for our website because of the large attacks we were seeing after getting a bit of popularity. We handed over our domain and hosting information to our DDOS protection provider. It worked perfectly but I have a question. On our DNS records we have the Host and Answer and Type. The host has our domain name there. The answer is this: SOMETEXTXXXX.dv.googlehosted.com. And when I copy and paste it into my browser it gives me a 404 error. But our website still loads and functions as it should. I don't understand why it would need this? I asked them about this and they said it is a method for DDOS protection and the other IPs are the reverse proxy (the other IPs give a 404 error too). Can anyone expand on this more please. How does all this tie in together and make the internet browser know where to point the person with all these reverse proxies and stuff I don't understand. Here is an image for reference:

• Clonezilla is not able to clone a RAID 1 disk

  I have a HP Server DL320 G5. There are two SATA hard disks configured as RAID 1 through HP embedded RAID controller. Server OS is running GNU/Linux (Fedora) Server booted up with clonezilla live CD. The image will be stored on a NAS connected through NFS. Clonezilla could mount the NFS share and could see the two hard disks /dev/sda and /dev/sdb. I selected /dev/sda for disk cloning. However I could not see the cloning progress and got straight into a prompt for reboot, poweroff, command line I tried to select /dev/sdb but the same issue.

• Synaptics/usb mouse drivers data is invalid on win server 2003

  Have just installed windows server 2003 image onto an HP laptop. Cannot get the mouse drivers to work. Have the correct drivers because I've extracted them out of a working PC (exact same model). I am always getting "Data is invalid". This is the synaptics touchpad drivers. Does anyone know how to fix this/ workaround to get mouse working? I have heard it may have something to do with permissions in the registry?

  I'm new to Chef and I think I'm missing something in reading the docs. I want to create servers using knife server create (options) but can't seem to find fully complete documentation on the options. Specifically, how do I find a mapping of server flavors to whatever knife is looking for? Given the official wiki entry for "Launch Cloud Instances with Knife," the following is an example server creation on Rackspace: knife rackspace server create 'role[webserver]' --server-name server01 --image 49 --flavor 2 Likewise, on the Knife Man Page, there are commands for EC2 server images (using --d --distro DISTRO) and for Slicehost servers (using -f --flavor FLAVOR) However, what none of the documentation I've found describes is how to translate what I want to build on Rackspace ("I want Ubuntu 10.04 LTS") to what the integer entry that knife is seeking. It strikes me that, given the lack of a description in the documentation for how to find the flavor, this should be obvious. Thus, I think I'm missing something.

  I've just purchased a D-Link DWA-643 Xtreme N ExpressCard Notebook Adapter - but it can't connect to my wireless network The card is listed on the FSF website and - refer links below: http://www.fsf.org/resources/hw/index_html/net/wireless/index_html/cards.html http://www.dlink.com.au/products/?pid=550 Ubuntu see the card as using the Atheros AR5008 chipset - refer image below The card lights up and I can see that available wifi networks using this card - so it seems to 'just work' on ubuntu 12.04 but when i try and connect to my networks - it fails I've tried setting the network to all the different options (WEP, WPA2, no encryption, etc.. b/g/n ) but ubuntu sill cant connect to it I've also installed wicd but still couldn't connect Has anyone got a DWA-643 to work in Ubuntu? Or does anyone have any suggestion on how to get it to connect?? Any help would be greatly appreciated Note: the laptop has built in wifi but its broadcom, works but with dialup speed connection - and i've had nothign but trouble using the boardcom drivers so purchased the FSF recommended PCI expresscard as i hoped it would 'just work' on the latest Ubuntu i've have tried to disable the built in wifi - broadcom - but even with the broadcom uninstall and unavailable it didnt help the dlink to connect previously I had MAC address filtering on the router - i've added the dlinks MAC - and also disabled MAC address filtering - still no luck lspci output below: 18:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc.   I want wget to prefer a certain filetype over another, if the files have the same basename. For example: if foo.ogg available, don't download foo.mp3 the way i use wget so far to crawl/automatically download (if anyone is interested): wget -Dfoo.com -I /folder/ -r -l 1 -nc -A.ogg,.mp3 -i http://www.foo.com/folder/ but this, of course, gets me .mp3 AND .ogg files. It often also gets me image files like .png which i didn't want in the first place, and discards them afterwards. Any Ideas? • Apple Automator "New PDF from Images" maintaining same filename

  I will potentially have 26k of old legacy PICT images to transfer first to PDF for migration. I am using Apple Automator and also the "Dispense Items Incrementally" to loop through it. However, I can't seem to let "New PDF from Images" to remember the original filename. Anyone able to offer some advice :) FYI, I am transforming it to PDF because I can't do it using ImageMagick to convert directly to my ultimate JPEG format. Due to the fact that my PICT was created very long ago and thus has some convert: improper image header error. See this ticket for more information. Thus I am doing a intermediate convert PICT to PDF first, then convert that PDF to JPEG :) The only thing left is the naming of the "Output File Name" which do not allow me to identify original filename.   This may be an odd question, I apologize. I just got the Microsoft ergo keyboard 4000 and was curious about how the zoom feature was to work. I'm using Windows 7 and in Word, IE, or when viewing an image the zoom doesn't seem to do anything. Device manager says that the drivers are updated. Is there a special key combination that is used to make it work. Not sure what I'm missing with this. Thanks.

• How can create the smallest possible mirror of the archive?

  I need to create an http url at my laptop to have a Ubuntu installation begin within my laptop on a Xen environment. This is how the final thing will look like. The host and client are both going to be my laptop, I Googled and came across apt-mirror and some other packages. I do not want to archive entire 15 GB Ubuntu repositories on my machine. It is not possible to use a CD,ISO,loop mounted disk (reason mentioned below). I have tried using netboot image on local machine which failed because if you are attempting to create a virtual machine on a hardware which does not support VT virt-manager installer necessarily needs a URL of this sort http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/hardy/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/ Any other option to create guest OS is simply grayed out. The unfortunate part is my Ethernet connections do not work when I boot with Xen-4.0 and a pv-ops Dom0 kernel from Jeremy's tree. Which is where I have to do this work. So I have to create a URL structure which is similar to Ubuntu mirrors. So how can I do this in bare minimum so that at least the console boots and once the console comes I can do some work.

• Alt+Tab doesn't work when Citrix is in full screen

  I am using 12.04 and in my work we connect to a Citrix XenDesktop. I've installed Citrix Receiver, using this link and it all works perfectly. But, I have a problem. Alt+Tab doesn't work in full screen mode. There are several adjustments you can choose when login in, with the Settings "button" up in the right corner. (Sorry, I couldn't post an image because I'm new.) I like to work with 95% full screen, with the windows key combination in "full screen mode only". This allows me to use the windows combinations when a work in full screen, inside the remote computer (inside Citrix). I can Alt+Tab past the "Citrix computer" when I put it down to 95%. It also allows me to use the "Ubuntu menu" on the left side. But I really can't make this work in Ubuntu. I've tried to put the windows key combination to "remote server only" and yes, it works inside the server, but also only there and the Ubuntu menu stops working. (in example print Screen. I am using this for documentation.) When I try to Tab from one place to another, even when Citrix isn't in full mode, if I stop there and the continue "tabbing" it continues inside Citrix. I want to use windows key combination, but only in full screen mode. Does anyone have a solution to fix in another way?

• Strange scaling when duplicating monitors with another screen

  I can't get two monitors to scale application resolutions the same way. My main monitor works normally. My second monitor however, which is set to duplicate its image onto a TV I have in my room, renders the applications in a far lower resolution than the 1080p I've set it to. Also, the mouse pointer on the second monitor is enormous, it looks 2-3 times bigger than the one on the main monitor. I've checked the "Let me choose one scaling level for all my displays", to no avail. Here are some comparison pictures. Metro on the main monitor: Metro on monitor 2 (set to 1080p and to duplicate on a TV): This issue only seem to arise when I duplicate the monitor onto the TV. Does anyone have any idea of how to solve this?

  I'm confused as to if any EXIF data is available when taking photos within 3rd party camera apps on the iPhone. My understanding is that Apple is currently not allowing any apps to save EXIF data to photos, and this is a limitation of saving to the camera roll on the phone. Anyone aware what the status of this 'limitation' is?

• 2-D Codes in Retail

  The UPC you find on packaging is a one-dimensional barcode that's been in use, in one form or another, since the 1970s. While its a good symbology to encode numbers like a product identifier, its not really big enough to hold much more. It also requires a barcode scanner (like those connected to the POS), although iPhone apps like RedLaser have proved a mobile camera can be made to work in many situations. The next generation barcodes are two-dimensional and therefore capable of holding much more information as well as being more conducive to cameras. The most popular format is the QR Code, widely used in Japan because almost every mobile phone has a built-in reader. A typical use for QR Codes is to embed a URL so that that a mobile phone can quickly navigate to the specified web page. QR Codes can be found on posters, billboards, catalogs, and circulars. Speaking of which, Best Buy recently put a QR code in their circular as shown below. If fact, they even updated their iPhone application to include a QR Code reader. I was able to scan the barcode above right from the screen with my iPhone without issues, even though its fairly small in this image. Clearly they are planning to incorporate more QR Codes in their stores and advertising. If you haven't seen QR Codes before, you're not looking hard enough. They are around and will continue to spread.

• Checking if an object is inside bounds of an isometric chunk

  How would I check if an object is inside the bounds of an isometric chunk? for example I have a player and I want to check if its inside the bounds of this isometric chunk. I draw the isometric chunk's tiles using OpenGL Quads. My first try was checking in a square pattern kind of thing: e = object; this = isometric chunk; if (e.getLocation().getX() < this.getLocation().getX()+World.CHUNK_WIDTH*World.TILE_WIDTH && e.getLocation().getX() > this.getLocation().getX()) { if (e.getLocation().getY() > this.getLocation().getY() && e.getLocation().getY() < this.getLocation().getY()+World.CHUNK_HEIGHT*World.TILE_HEIGHT) { return true; } } return false; What happens here is that it checks in a SQUARE around the chunk so not the real isometric bounds. Image example: (THE RED IS WHERE THE PROGRAM CHECKS THE BOUNDS) What I have now: Desired check: Ultimately I want to do the same for each tile in the chunk. EXTRA INFO: Till now what I had in my game is you could only move tile by tile but now I want them to move freely but I still need them to have a tile location so no matter where they are on the tile their tile location will be that certain tile. then when they are inside a different tile's bounding box then their tile location becomes the new tile. Same thing goes with chunks. the player does have an area but the area does not matter in this case. and as long as the X and Y are inside the bounding box then it should return true. they don't have to be completely on the tile.

• Bypass cache for mobile user agents, VARNISH+NGINX+W3CACHE

  Right now I'm running Wordpress w/ W3 Cache on nginx with varnish front end. I'm trying to use the WP Touch Pro plugin for wordpress to display mobile sites, but it is not working. Shows the desktop theme still. I've put the mobile user agents in the rejected user agents box in w3 cache.
