  • What's the difference between a Callback and a Partial Postback?

    Is there a difference, or are the terms synonymous? Sorry if this has been asked before, I could only find the difference between a full postback and a callback. I'm already aware of how a full postback is different. In using ASP.Net 2.0, if that matters. (By the way, does it matter? Or are these terms defined the same for any web based application?)     I have an array, i don't know the length but i do know it will be =48bytes. The first 48bytes are the header and i need to split the header into two. Whats the easiest way? I am hoping something as simple as header.split(32); would work ([0] is 32 bytes [1] being 16 assuming header is an array of 48bytes) using .NET

  • Downloading file with Python results in only 4.1kB

    I'm using simple code: import urllib2 response = urllib2.urlopen("http://www.mysite.com/getfile/4355") output = open('myfile.zip','wb') output.write(response.read()) output.close() The web-server is IIS + ASP.NET MVC 4 It returns FileResult wrapping a zip-file with "application/octet-stream" content-type. The problem is that downloaded zip file is broken - only 4.1kB size, where it must be 24kB. When I type the url adress in web-browser directly - it downloads and opens fine. Could you please, suggest, what's wrong with my Python code?

    How does one control the application recycle settings for an ASP.NET application runnin on mod_mono & Apache ? On IIS6 & 7 there was an option to specify either a time period, a number of requests, etc. when the AppDomain would be recycled and the application would basically do an Application_End() / Application_Start(). I am seeing the same behaviour on mod_mono & Apache ,but I can't find where to change the settings.

Convert.FromBase64String – something like this for base32 would be perfect. Is there such a method in the framework or do I have to roll my own?

    I'm using datagridview in windows application developed in C# VS2005 .net 2.0. Datagridview is provided a list of business objects. It take annoying delay of 2-3 seconds before starting displaying the rows in datagridview in falling-curtain fashion. When I switch back to my application from any other window it start repaint process in the same falling-curtain fashion. This is quite annoying. Plz someone help me sort this out!
