    I'd like to add a Web View to my app at 60% scale (like seen in Safari in the browse other windows view): Notice how the content looks nice and Aliased! If I try and add the same Web view to my app: NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:@"http://www.google.co.uk?q=hello"]; NSURLRequest *request = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url]; UIWebView *webView = [[UIWebView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 400)]; webView.delegate=self; [webView loadRequest:request]; [self.view addSubview:webView]; Using the following transformation: [webView setTransform:CGAffineTransformMakeScale(0.6, 0.6)]; ..the scale is really bad quality and there appears to be no anti-aliasing.     I'm writing a jQuery application to allow analysis of data with the help of visual cues. My data is retrieved via XMLHttpRequest in the form of JSON. The visual cues include histograms, spark lines, and various other graph types. The idea is that the user is able to narrow their data via these various visual views. My question is thus - aside from the Google Charts API, does there exist a JavaScript way of presenting a Venn Diagram? Requirement: no Flash. Canvas is acceptable.

  • C# UTF8 output keep encoded characters intact

    Hello, i have a very simple question I can't seem to get my head around. I have a properly encoded UTF8-String I parse into a JObject with Json.NET, fiddle around with some values and write it to the commandline, keeping the encoded characters intact. Everything works great except for the keeping the encoded characters intact part. Code: var json = "{roster: [[\"Tulg\u00f4r\", 990, 1055]]}"; var j = JObject.Parse(json); for (int i = 0; i < j["roster"].Count(); i++) { j["roster"][i][1] = ((int)j["roster"][i][1]) * 3; j["roster"][i][2] = ((int)j["roster"][i][2]) * 3; } Console.WriteLine(JsonConvert.SerializeObject(j, Formatting.None)); Actual Output: {"roster":[["Tulgôr",2970,3165]]} Desired Output: {"roster":[["Tulg\u00f4r",2970,3165]]} It seems like my phrasing in Google is inappropriate since nothing useful came up. I'm sure it's something uber-easy and i will feel pretty stupid afterwards. :)

    Note: CSS novice here. Be gentle. ;-) I have the following CSS: ... -webkit-box-shadow: inset 0px 0px 2px #a00; -moz-box-shadow: inset 0px 0px 2px #a00; ... Now I am trying to extract that color to make the page colors "skinnable". Is there any way of doing this? Simply removing the color, and then using the same key again later overwrites the original rule. There doesn't seem to be a -webkit-box-shadow-color, at least Google turns nothing up.

I'm fairly new to urllib, but this doesn't seem like the result I should be getting. I've tried it in other places and I get what I expect (the same as visiting the address with a browser gives me: a JSON object). Using urlopen on other sites (e.g. "http://google.com") works fine, and gives me actual html. I've also tried using urllib and it gives the same result. I'm pretty stuck, not even knowing where to look to solve this problem. Any ideas?

    I'm starting new project. The client interface is based on GWT (and GXT) I have no say it's predetermined. However I can pick and choose as far as server side so I can have some fun and hopefully learn something new in the process. Some requirements are : Exchange with server will be through use of JSON, most if not all of UI will be generated by GWT (JS) on the client, so the client/serve exchange will be limited to data exchange as much as possible No Hibernate (it's not really supported on the proprietary db I will be connecting to). In the past projects people would use JDBC or iBATIS Some sort of IoC (I'm thinking Guice just to stick with Google) Some sort of Security framework based on LDAP. In the past we would use Spring security (Acegi) but it wasn't ideal and we had to customize it a lot So basically should I stick with tried-and-true Spring/Acegi or try something based on Guice? And what that "something" would be and how mature is it?

  • Identity Propagation across Web and Web Service - 11g

    I was on a customer call recently and this topic came up. In fact since this topic seems to come up fairly frequently - I thought I would describe the recommended model for doing SSO for Web Apps and then doing Identity Propagation across the Back end web services. The Image below shows a typical flow: Here is a more detailed drill down of what happens at each step of the flow (the number in red in the diagram maps to the description below of the behind the scenes processing that happens in the stack). [1] The Web App is protected with OAM and so the typical SSO scenario is applicable. The Web App URL is protected in OAM. The Web Gate intercepts the request from the Browser to the Web App - if there is an OAM (SSO) token - then the Web Gate validates the OAM token. If there is no SSO token - then the user is directed to the login page - user enters credentials, user is authenticated and OAM token is created for that browser session. [2] Once the Web Gate validates the OAM token - the token is propagated to the WLS Server where the Web App is running. You need to ensure that you have configured the OAM Identity Asserter in the Weblogic domain. If the OAM Identity Asserter is configured, this will end up creating a JAAS Subject.     I'm using urllib2's urlopen function to try and get a JSON result from the StackOverflow api. I'm fairly new to urllib, but this doesn't seem like the result I should be getting. I've tried it in other places and I get what I expect (the same as visiting the address with a browser gives me: a JSON object). Using urlopen on other sites (e.g. "http://google.com") works fine, and gives me actual html. I've also tried using urllib and it gives the same result. I'm pretty stuck, not even knowing where to look to solve this problem. Any ideas?

    I'm writing a scheduling program with a difficult programming problem. There are several events, each with multiple meeting times. I need to find an arrangement of meeting times such that each schedule contains any given event exactly once, using one of each event's multiple meeting times. Obviously I could use brute force, but that's rarely the best solution. I'm guessing this is a relatively basic computer science problem, which I'll learn about once I am able to start taking computer science classes. In the meantime, I'd prefer any links where I could read up on this, or even just a name I could Google.

I'm using the exif_read_data() that returns a array of all tags + data : GPS.GPSLatitudeRef: N GPS.GPSLatitude:Array ( [0] => 46/1 [1] => 5403/100 [2] => 0/1 ) GPS.GPSLongitudeRef: E GPS.GPSLongitude:Array ( [0] => 7/1 [1] => 880/100 [2] => 0/1 ) GPS.GPSAltitudeRef: GPS.GPSAltitude: 634/1 I don't know how to interpret 46/1 5403/100 and 0/1 ? 46 might be 46° but what about the rest especially 0/1 ? angle/1 5403/100 0/1 What is this structure about ? How to convert them to "standard" ones (like 46°56'48?N 7°26'39?E from wikipedia) ? I would like to pass thoses coordinates to the google maps api to display the pictures positions on a map !

  • Best online course for C#/SQL for a professional engineer

    I know similar questions have been asked, but I've not been able to find information specific to my situation. I'm looking for "continuing education"-type options, specifically a C# and/or SQL course. I'm a software engineering professional with a graduate level computer science degree. So I'm looking for something substantial that will be challenging. I certainly already have me feet wet in both C# and SQL I'm just looking for a more formal training to round out the edges. There is a good chance my company will pay for it if it is reasonably priced so it doesn't have to be free and preferably shouldn't be (a certificate or certification to come out of it would be nice). When I tried Google, all I found were things that sounded like crash courses (like a 3 day course or course for "dummies"), or course that did not seem very credible. Can anyone recommend a course of action for this? Thanks!

    Hi, I'd like to verify a user's email address by sending them a verify-email-message. Do you know of a good Rails plugin that they've used or seen? Since I didn't see anything good via Google, at this point, my thought is: Add a verified boolean field to the user model. Default false. After user is added (unverified), combine email with a salt (a secret), and create the sha1 hash of the email/salt combo. The result is the verification. Send a welcoming / verification email to the user. Email includes a url that has the email address and verification as GET args to a verify action on my server. The verify action recomputes the verification using the supplied email and checks that the new verification matches the one in the url. If it does, then the User rec for the email is marked 'verified' Also will provide action to re-send the verification email. Any comments on the above? Thanks, Larry

    I'm writing a C# program that will enforce password complexity in accordance with the Windows Group Policy setting "Password must meet complexity requirements". Specifically, if that policy is set to Enabled either on the local machine (if it's not part of a domain) or by the Domain Security Policy (for domain members), then my software needs to enforce a complex password for its own internal security. The issue is that I can't figure out how to read that GPO setting. Google searches have indicated that I can read GPO settings with one of these two APIs: the System.DirectoryServices library in .NET Framework, and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), but I haven't had any success so far. Any insights would be helpful.

  • Parse error when trying to install app on Asus eee PC 701 running Android 2.0

    A beta tester of mine has a Asus eee pc 701 running Android 2.0 and he is trying to install an app on it from my web site. He is able to download the app but is getting a "Parse Error: There is a problem parsing the package" error. I don't really know if this problem is with the eee pc or with the apk since he is the first person to try to install it. I built it for 2.0, the manifest has 5 as the minimum API level and I used Eclipse to export and sign it. But this is my first Android app and he is the first to try to install it, so I am not sure what the problem might be? Could just be the Android implementation too. For example, take a look at Google's number of MB of free storage on the Gmail homepage, under the heading that reads "Lots of space". It has a starting number in a <span> tag, and slowly counts upward every second. I'm looking for something similar, but I'd like to be able to specify: The start number The end number The amount of time it should take to get from start to end.   • OpenID Authentication 2.0 in Joomla 1.0.x

    Is there any easy way to bring OpenID authentication into a Joomla 1.0.x website? I am particularly interested in Google authentication (so I'll want OAuth &/or OpenID Attribute Exchange as well later), but for now just authentication will work. I know Joomla 1.5.x supports OpenID natively but I have to stick with 1.0.x for now. Any ideas? There are some traces of com_openid component on the net but I cannot find anything to look at.. EDIT I managed to find a J-OpenID component, gonna give it a try.

  • Ruby on Rails Mysterious Javascript Alert box with cookie information

    I have a problem in a Ruby on Rails app that I am working on. I have been working on the app for months and I have never had this problem before and after a bit of Google searches I think that somehow someone is trying to steal cookies with javascript. When I click on the link I get an alert box titled "the page at www.napkinboard.com says:" and contains the following message: __utmz=217223433.1270652009.59.3.utmcsr=localhost:3000|utmccn=(referral)|utmcmd=referral|utmcct=/; __utma=217223433.2133018314.1265749085.1271097412.1271125626.63; __utmc=217223433; __utmb=217223433.11.10.1271125626 I checked the database and all data associated with this 'food_item' looks completely normal and does not contain any javascript at all. How did this suddenly happen and how can I stop it? I appreciate any help. Thanks.

  • Debugging problems in Visual Studio 2005 - No source code available for the current location

    Hi all I've searched up and down Google for others with a similar problem, and while I can find the error I don't think that other people have the same base problem that I do. Basically, I had to create a project for a unit-testing environment in order to run this test suite. First, I add my original C file, compile, and then a test file (C++) is generated. I then exclude my original source from the project, include this test script (which includes the original source at the top), and then run. I can debug the test file fine, but when it jumps to the original C file I get the dreaded 'no source code available for the current location' error. Both files are located within the same location, and I compiled the original file without any issue. Anybody have any thoughts about this? Its driving me crazy!
