• C# Assembly Xna.Framework.dll does not load

  When trying to load Microsoft.Xna.Framework.dll from any project, it throws a FileNotFoundException. The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E), with no innerException. Even the simple code like the following throws that exception: static void Main(string[] args) { Assembly.LoadFile(@"C:\Microsoft.Xna.Framework.dll"); } I run XP x64, but I've set the platform in the configuration manager to x86, because I know it shouldn't(doesn't) work on x64 or Any CPU. I've manually added the dll file to GAC, but that didn't solve the problem. I have also tried the M$ Assembly Binding Log Viewer to see if those logs had any useful information, but they didn't. Everything, the loading etc, was a success according to them. Any suggestions? please?

• sqL table is sorted by default

  I have simple SSIS package where I import data from flat file into sql table(MS sql 2005). File contains 70k rows and table has no primary key. Importing is sucessful but when I open sql table the order of rwos is different from the that of file. After observing closely I see that data in table is sorted by default by first column. Why this is happening? and how I can avoid default sort? Thanks.

• Are large include files like iostream efficient? (C++)

  Iostream, when all of the files it includes, the files that those include, and so on and so forth, adds up to about 3000 lines. Consider the hello world program, which needs no more functionality than to print something to the screen: #include <iostream> //+3000 lines right there. int main() { std::cout << "Hello, World!"; return 0; } this should be a very simple piece of code, but iostream adds 3000+ lines to a marginal piece of code. So, are these 3000+ lines of code really needed to simply display a single line to the screen, and if not, do they create a less efficient program than if I simply copied the relevant lines into the code?

• How to determine which class has called a function

  Hi, I am working on a Flex Front End at the moment, and have been using the Parsley framework for passing messages/events around. I was wondering if there is a simple way for a function (in this case, an event's constructor) to obtain a reference to the object which called it? This is to ensure that a certain event that I am defining can only be dispatched by one specified class. My thinking is to check the caller of the constructor somehow, and throw an error if it is not of the correct type. I am open to suggestions of alternative approaches here, but I would ideally like to stick to using the Parsley 'MessageHandler' approach if at all possible. Thanks for reading guys..

  hi guys. I'm looking to create a simple app which will send keystrokes from an iphone to a PC. I understand that I will need to have a program on my PC "listening"... I've been looking in to AsyncSocket and NSStream, but there are no tutorials which really make it clear to understand. Does anyone know if this is right? I basically want to interact with a program on my PC which listens for keystrokes to control it. Does anyone know of a tutorial or place where I could start to learn this? (I've written iphone apps before, but I am new to networking)

• What HTTP headers do I need to stream an ASF file?

  I have a simple PHP script that will either serve up a streaming ASF file or not, depending on whether you're logged in and have access to the file. It basically does this: <?php header('Content-Type: video/x-ms-asf'); header('Content-Disposition: inline; filename="file.asf"'); readfile('file.asf'); ?> This already works fine in Firefox; when you navigate to this file it starts the video streaming right away. But Internet Explorer is a different story. When I go to this link in IE, it consistently tries to download the file as if it were an attachment rather than streaming it in the browser. What I am missing that IE's getting hung up on?

  Hay, I'm working on a simple voting system, where users can vote on a poll. My model looks like this class Poll(models.Model): question = models.CharField() votes = models.IntegerField() usersVoted = models.ManyToManyField(User) Now, i want to scan through the usersVoted field to see if a User object is in there. This User object will then be matched against a logged in User (User obj saved in a session). If the User has voted i want to be able to set a 'has_voted' field. I then want to use this field in my view. I will be using the Property() thingy inside the model to work this 'has_voted' value out. Like so def _can_vote(self): return False can_vote = property(_can_vote) Obviously it'll return a Bool. Any ideas how to search through a related field to find a specific Object?

• Migrating C# code from Cassandra .5 to .6

  I have some some simple code derived from an example that is meant to form a quick write to the Cassandra db, then loop back and read all current entries, everything worked fine. When .6 came out, i upgraded Cassandra and thrift, which threw errors in my code (www[dot]copypastecode[dot]com/26760/) - i was able to iron out the errors by converting the necessary types, however in the version that compiles now only seems to read one item back, im not sure if its not saving db changes or if its only reading back 1 entry. the "fixed" code is here: http://www.copypastecode.com/26752/. • Redundancy algorithm for reading noisy bitstream

  I'm reading a lossy bit stream and I need a way to recover as much usable data as possible. There can be 1's in place of 0's and 0's in palce of 1's, but accuracy is probably over 80%. A bonus would be if the algorithm could compensate for missing/too many bits as well. The source I'm reading from is analogue with noise (microphone via FFT), and the read timing could vary depending on computer speed. I remember reading about algorithms used in CD-ROM's doing this in 3? layers, so I'm guessing using several layers is a good option. • How do I maintain scroll position in MVC?

  Im working on a project in MVC and have enjoyed learning about it. There are a few growing pains but once you figure them out it's not bad. One thing that is really simple in the WebForms world is maintaining the scroll position on a page. All you do is set the MaintainScrollPositionOnPostback property to true. However, in MVC, Im not using postbacks so this will not work for me. What is the standard way of handling this? Edit: Ajax is acceptable, but I was also wondering how you would do it without AJAX.

• How to create a backup from SqlAlchemy?

  I'm writing a Pylons app, and am trying to create a simple backup system where every table is serialized and tarred up into a single file for an administrator to download, and use to restore the app should something bad happen. I can serialize my table data just fine using the SqlAlchemy serializer, and I can deserialize it fine as well, but I can't figure out how to commit those changes back to the database. In order to serialize my data I am doing this: from myproject.model.meta import Session from sqlalchemy.ext.serializer import loads, dumps q = Session.query(MyTable) serialized_data = dumps(q.all()) In order to test things out, I go ahead and truncation MyTable, and then attempt to restore using serialized_data: from myproject.model import meta restore_q = loads(serialized_data, meta.metadata, Session) This doesn't seem to do anything... I've tried calling a Session.commit after the fact, individually walking through all the objects in restore_q and adding them, but nothing seems to work. What am I missing? Or is there a better way to do what I'm aiming for? I don't want to shell out and directly touch the database, since SqlAlchemy supports different database engines.

• Loading all files in a directory in a Java applet

  How would one go about programatically loading all the resource files in a given directory in a JAR file for an applet? The resources will probably change several times over the lifetime of the program so I don't want to hardcode names in. Normally I would just traverse the directory structure using File.list(), but I get permission issues when trying to do that within an applet. I also looked at using an enumeration with something line ClassLoader.getResources() but it only finds files of the same name within the JAR file. Essentially what I want to do is (something like) this: ClassLoader imagesURL = this.getClass().getClassLoader(); MediaTracker tracker = new MediaTracker(this); Enumeration<URL> images = imagesURL.getResources("resources/images/image*.gif"); while (images.hasMoreElements()){ tracker.add(getImage(images.nextElement(), i); i++; } I know I'm probably missing some obvious function, but I've spent hours searching through tutorials and documentation for a simple way to do this within an unsigned applet.

To the second has been set the -fx-background-color, but the value is taken from caspian.css, that is the value it should have before it had been set. .first-style { -fx-padding: 20 5 1 5; } .second-style { -fx-background-color: -fx-shadow-highlight-color, -fx-outer-border, -fx-inner-border, -fx-body-color; } At this point i experience a strange behavior: the focus decoration stops working, and the second button doesn't get its blue border when focused. • Pure Java open-source libraries for portfolio selection (= constrained, non-linear optimization)?

  Does anyone know or has experience with a pure Java library to select portfolios or do some similar kinds of quadratic programming with constraints? There seems to be a lot of tools, as already discussed elsewhere - but what I would like to use is a pure Java implementation. Since I want to call the library from within another open-source software with a BSD-ish license I would prefer LGPL over GPL. Any help is appreciated. If you don't know such libraries, which is the most simple algorithm you would suggest to implement? It has to cope with an inequality constraint (all x_i = 0) and an equality constraint (sum of all x_i = 1).

• Serializing array in PHP, preventing injection

  I'm writing a PHP script which uses serialized arrays to store data. How can I prevent injection in serialization? It would be very easy to name your account: something";s:6:"access";s:5:"admin"; for a simple example. The user could then add the rest of the needed parameters somehow. Would addslashes work for this? Does the php unserialize pick up on that as being an escaped character? If so, is it possible to apply addslashes to an entire array without iterating through? • Adding an ActionScript eventListener that takes the whole sprite

  Hello, I have a very simple constructor in ActionScript as the following: public function ButtonTest() { this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, browseFiles); } My problem is that when I open the SWF file itself, the window is not full size and the whole area responds to the mouse click. If I expand the window to full size, a margin of like 200 pixels on the left is not clickable. I hope I make some sense. The issue is that I had the .SWF file in a in my HTML code, and when I make it small, it seems that only the center of the SWF file is clickable. I hope someone can please help me. Thank you, Rudy

• What's the simplest way to create a Zend_Form tabular display with each row having a radio button?

  I've seen simple examples of rendering a Zend_Form using decorators, but I'm not sure they are able to handle the issue I'm facing very well. I query the database and get an array of user objects. I want to display these users as a form, with a radio button next to each of them and a submit button at the bottom of the page.   I'm given three binary random variables: X, Y, and Z. I'm also given the following: P(Z | X) P(Z | Y) P(X) P(Y) I'm then supposed to determine whether or not it is possible to find P(Z | Y, X). I've tried rewriting the solution in the form of Bayes' Theorem and have gotten nowhere. Given that these are boolean random variables, is it possible to rewrite the system in terms of boolean algebra? I understand that the conditionals can be mapped to boolean implications (x -> y, or !x + y), but I'm unsure how this would translate in terms of the overall problem I'm trying to solve. (yes, this is a homework problem, but here I'm much more interested in how to formally solve this problem than what the solution is...I also figured this question would be entirely too simple for MathOverflow)

• What is lifetime of lambda-derived implicit functors in C++ ?

  The question is simple: what is lifetime of that functor object that is automatically generated for me by the C++ compiler when I write a lambda-expression? I did a quick search, but couldn't find a satisfactory answer. In particular, if I pass the lambda somewhere, and it gets remembered there, and then I go out of scope, what's going to happen once my lambda is called later and tries to access my stack-allocated, but no longer alive, captured variables? Or does the compiler prevent such situation in some way? Or what?

  Hi, i'm using ASP.NET + a MySql Db. I'm trying to configure a ListView so i've written: <asp:SqlDataSource ID="dsDatiUtente" runat="server" ConnectionString="Server=12.28.136.29;Database=mydb;Uid=m111d1;Pwd=fake;Pooling=false;" ProviderName="MySql.Data.MySqlClient" SelectCommand="SELECT * FROM user WHERE idUser=@IdUser" / At the beginning of my aspx page i've added <%@ Import Namespace="MySql.Data.MySqlClient" %> But if i click to the sqldatasource and click "Refresh Schema" i got this error: "Unable to retrive schema.... Unable to find the requested .Net Framework data provider" For instance, i've installed it , but i've also uninstalled old version, then installed new versions. In my project i simple copy Mysql dll into "bin" folder, then add a reference to that dll. I'm not sure is the corrected way... I need to have the "refreshed schema" to permit vs.net to build automatically my listview ... if i can't to "auto build" listview, i have to write all code by hand, and it is a too expensive work me :( What i'm wrong ?   Hi. I wanna make an app that executes remote scripts. I am going to design it like a Windows Service that listen on tcp/ip port. Every new request I will execute a python scripts. So I can handle any number of tcp/ip request at same time, so I will need to execute python script in separate threads. How can I do that? Is that simple? The script will share some objects, like Log files(text files) and other modules. In the log file example every script will write in the same file. So the app (windows service) will be responsible for do that. I need to make this objects thread safe, right?
