  • Canon MF3200 Printer Problems [closed]

    I bought a Canon MF3200 and used it on an old Windows laptop. The laptop broke, and now I'm trying to setup the printer on a laptop with Windows 7. I downloaded the new driver, and Windows was able to install it and mark it "Ready to Go." But whenever I try to print, an error comes up and it doesn't print. I tried to troubleshoot, to no avail. What else can I do? Any ideas on what the error might be?

    i am using below code to print my content of webpage in asp.net using javascript window.print(document.getElementById('dvPrint')); when i do print, it automatically adds date time on page.. (i think because of page setup) in firefox. please tell me how can i remove this setting. i mean i dont want datetime to be printed automatically on my print page (even if its set in pagesetup).

    Hi I have an iOS app that has the ability to print a UITableView. However, only th part of the tableview that is shown is printed. Is there a way to print the whole tableview, even if it has not been drawn yet?     I'm using WPF and need to let users set some print related options like printer and printer properties (e.g. papertray, landscape/portrait, duplex, etc). I'm aware of the PrintDialog class to get a PrintQueue and PrintTicket object. However I need to create I custom solution and can not show the PrintDialog. I manage to get the available PrintQueue objects and let users select a printer. I'm struggling with the printer properties. My question is: how can I show the dialog in which a user can set the printer properties for the selected PrintQueue (the dialog that is shown when a user clicks on the Properties button in the WPF PrintDialog).

  • design function: underlying structure to store list of results for print to file

    is this a good approach to print a list of items to csv file with a sublist attached to each item. The gist of the function is when an item is found that does not exactly macth then a list of close matches is generated - this works now writing out one list at a time to a command window. For export to a csv file I think all the lists must be generated, stored and then written at once. Right now I use a struct to store the attributes printed, each struct is an item on the list - these structs are then added to a sorted stack and when printed they pop off into write out. Is a stack of stacks of structs a good design?

I have already built the class and it works, it is something like this: class Logger { std::string _filename; public: void print(std::string tobeprinted); } Well, it is intuitive that, in order to print a line in the log file, for an object of Logger, it is simply necessary to do the following: Logger mylogger("myfile.log"); mylogger.print(std::string("This is a log line")); Well. Using a method approach is not the same as using a much better pattern like << is. I would like to do the following: Logger mylogger("myfile.log"); mylogger << "This is a log line"; That's all. I suppose I must overload the << operator... But overloading using this signature (the classic one): ostream& operator<<(ostream& output, const MyObj& o); But I do not have a ostream... So, should I do as follows? Logger& operator<<(Logger& output, const std::string& o); Is this the right way? Thanks

  • Hiding "Print to file" in a Java print dialog

    I'm maintaining this Swing app that has a "print" option. Users need to be kept from interacting in any way with the underlying file system, but the print dialog offers "print to file" as one printer, and that of course allows selecting a directory and file from the file system. Is there a painless way to override/modify the print dialog to hide the "to file" printer from this dialog? I understand the API will let me do this piecemeal but I'd rather not have to re-create most of the dialog GUI and functionality to do this.

  • Does PrinterSettings.GetHdevmode() have a bug?

    I would like to be able to change the printer properties without bringing up the printer properties window... Using the DocumentProperties (imported from winspool.drv) function has so far failed, because while it is easy to suppress the dialog from showing up, it seems that the value returned by PrinterSettings.GetHdevmode() is not reflecting the PrinterSettings that is calling it, but instead the value from the previous printer properties returning OK. For example, this gives me the previous (wrong) values from the last call to the properties, instead of the values it should have from the PrinterSettings object: IntPtr hdevmode = PrinterSettings.GetHdevmode(PrinterSettings.DefaultPageSettings); PrinterSettings.SetHdevmode(hdevmode); PrinterSettings.DefaultPageSettings.SetHdevmode(hdevmode); So does GetHdevmode have a bug or is this what its supposed to do? Is there a C# work around for this or does anyone even have any information about it? I have been hard pressed even to find info on the topic. Thanks in advance for any insight.

  • Ideas on limiting content to single printed page?

    I have 5-6 text areas that users fill out in a template (a couple of columns, basically a newsletter format). I'm needing to limit their content to one printed page, but I'm having a hard time coming up with practical solutions. The printed format (margin, font size, etc.) will be the same for all users, as it's printed from a central source. I've had a couple of ideas, but all of them seem rather unreliable and difficult to implement: Determine height of content using JavaScript and estimate the number of printed pages from that. The problem with this is that browser font sizes can vary, it's only a rough estimate (pixels to inches), etc. Limit the number of characters. This is problematic because there are various text fields, certain characters (like M) take up more space than others (like I), and line breaks obviously count for much more. What ideas do you all have? I appreciate your help!

    So, I'm familiar how to enumerate the printers using the Windows API, there are a ton of examples out there. What I gathered from here is that I can find the printers in the /Library/Printers/ directory. When I searched there, I found more folders which didn't really mean anything to me. To keep it simple, how do I query the mac to get a list of printers (local and networked) "attached" to the system? Or can anyone point me in the right direction?

    I can't figure out how to properly show the printer preference dialog of a given printer so that the user can change the printer settings. Most of the examples that I can find online manage to show the dialog but any changes the user might make are lost which makes it useless.     We want to have a form which contains lots of fields one over another. All of them are passed as parameters to the form. There are many condition formulas which determine whether one element is shown or not. Depending on how many fields are shown the result will get a different number of pages. The problem is, that the designer will only allow us to design on on single page with a fixed height. But we need more space to place fields there, because they are too many of them. Is there a way to enlarge the designer working area? Sure, a possible workaround is to choose a large paper format when in dessiger which will enlarge the working area and then reset it to A4 (Standard paper format), but even this will not be enough for us in some cases. Does nobody know an answer?

    I try two use sidewaysfigure from the rotating package in the twosided memoir class. The resulting figures look correct in the pdf that is generated, with the page rotated by 90 degrees. However, when I print the document (on linux, using CUPS), some of the pages with a sidewaysfigure are upside down (rotated by 180 degreeS).

I know the ip of the printer connected to the network and the IP of the print server, but I do not want to send the stream directly to the printer and prefers to spend by the print server.
