• How to select a MAX value from column in Query Builder in Kohana framework?

• Works using Django development server, but throws import error with Apache using mod_wsgi

  I have a Django project that works fine with the development server that comes with it. No errors are produced at all when I use "django manage.py runserver" and the app works fine, but when I try to use it with mod_wsgi and Apache the browser displays "Internal Server Error" with a 500 error code and it generates an import error in the Apache error log. Here's the error in the log: ImportError: No module named registration I'm using the Django registration module which is located in a path like this: /opt/raj/photos/registration I know that the registration app is in the path because I can fire up a Python shell, import sys, and get a list of paths using sys.path. Here are some of the paths output from Python shell: sys.path ['', '/opt/raj/pyamf', '/opt/raj', '/opt/raj/pictures', '/opt/raj/pictures /registration', '/usr/lib/python2.6',....] Any thoughts would be appreciated.

• Silverlight -> WCF -> Database -> problem

  Hi there, I have some silverlight code that calls a WCF service which then uses the Entity Framework to access the database and return records. Everything runs fine but ... when I replace the Entity Framework code with classic ADO.NET code I get an error: The remote server returned an error: NotFound When I call the ADO.NET code directly with a unit test it returns records fine so it's not a problem with the ADO.NEt code I used fiddler and it seems to say that the service cannot be found with a "500" error. i don't think it's anything to do with the service as the only thing I change is the technology to access the database. Anyone know what i'm missing here?

• How do I wait for "animated scroll to id" to complete before focusing on first form field?

  So, I have a link at the bottom of website. When it is clicked, it scrolls to a form at the top of the page with the animated style. And as it arrives at top of page, it focuses on the first field in form. Currently, this is my code: $(document).ready(function() { $('#goto-show-form').click(function() { $('html, body').animate({scrollTop: $("#show-form").offset().top}, '500'); $('#first-field').focus(); return false; }); }); What happens is it begins scrolling, then focuses to form field while still in process of scrolling, then returns to last position in scrolling process and continues scrolling up. Instead of being smooth, you can see it cuts back and forth. How can I tell jquery to wait until scrolling is complete before focusing to the form field? • POSIX-compatible regex library for Visual Studio C

  I'm working on a C program which will be run in Linux and from inside Visual Studio 2010, and I'm looking for a regex library. GNU comes with a POSIX-compatible regex library, but Visual Studio, despite having C++ std::regex, doesn't have a C-compatible library. GNU has a Windows version of their library (http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/regex.htm), but the DLLs are 32-bit only and the source code can't compile in Visual Studio (~500 errors!). My only requirement is that the end-user should not have to install anything extra, and should get the same behaviour on both platforms. I'm not picky about whether it's POSIX-style, Perl-style or something else. What should I do? Thanks in advance.

• Unable to display data in a WPF datagrid that has a DataView instance as the items source

  I am using a DataGrid object from the WPF toolkit. I am binding the DataGrid object to the default view of a DataTable instance as declared in the following code: WeatherGrid.ItemsSource = weatherDataTable.DefaultView; weatherDataTable has three columns. The first column is defined to contain a string data type. The other two columns are defined to contain double data types. When the application exits the function that calls the binding as expressed in the declaration, The DataGrid object displays data for the first column, but not the other columns. When I type the following in the immediate window in the debugger: ((DataRowView)WeatherGrid.Items[0]).Row[1] I get a number, but this doesn't correspond with what is being displayed. Why is only the first column visible, and how can I get all of the data to be visible? • jQuery prevent.default stops rest of code working

  Hey all I have this code where I am using jQuery to navigate to the next page, because I want some effects to take place before that happens. The problem is, that everything after the prevent.Default(); doesn't seem to work! $("a").click(function(event){ event.preventDefault(); $(".content-center").animate({height: "0px"}, 500); navigate($(this).attr('href')); }); I need things to happen in that order, so that the animation happens and once it's complete - load the next page... • Why are error pages ignored in RESTEasy web service running on Tomcat?

  I'm developing a REST-ful web service using RESTEasy deployed on Tomcat. I've configured an error page which takes the exception's message and generates an XML based on it when any exception occurs during the request. This works fine for any application generated exceptions. However, if client sends an invalid XML which cannot be unmarshalled correctly, an javax.xml.bind.UnmarshalException is thrown and Tomcat's default error page is used instead of mine. I have configured my error page to the error-code 500 in web.xml. Is using error pages the correct way to handle errors when using RESTEasy or is there an alternative way?

I know that MPI can work on very fast networks (10 Gbit/s and more), but many MPI programs are used with cheap network like 0,1G or 1Gbit/s Ethernet and with cheap (slow, low bisection) network switch. There is a very fast Snappy (wikipedia) compression algorithm, which has Compression speed is 250 MB/s and decompression speed is 500 MB/s so on compressible data and slow network it will give some speedup. Is there any MPI library which can compress MPI messages (at layer of MPI; not the compression of ip packets like in PPP). MPI messages are also structured, so there can be some special method, like compression of exponent part in array of double.

  OK, I'm probably just having a bad Monday, but I have the following need and I'm seeing lots of partial solutions but I'm sure I'm not the first person to need this, so I'm wondering if I'm missing the obvious. $client has 50 to 500 bytes worth of binary data that must be inserted into the middle of a URL and roundtrip to their customer's browser. Since it's part of the URL, we're up against the 1K "theoretical" limit of a GET URL. Also, $client doesn't want their customer decoding the data, or tampering with it without detection. $client would also prefer not to store anything server-side, so this must be completely standalone. Must be Perl code, and fast, in both encoding and decoding. I think the last step can be base64. But what are the steps for encryption and hashing that make the most sense?

  I have a client application that creates a temp table, the performs a bulk insert into the temp table, then executes some SQL using the table before deleting it. I can't imagine how this failure could occur without something else going on first, but I don't see any other failures occurring before this. Is there anything that I'm missing that could be causing this to happen?

  I would like the user to select the time in javascript and to avoid selecting the wrong time. How should i do it? Is there some kind of javascript or jquery widget? or should i show the format and allow users to write it in (and i guess check it with regex)? i think these should be valid 1 (1s) 1:5 (1m 5s) 1.5 (1s, 500 milliseconds. not to be confused by the above) 1:2:02 (1h, 2m, 2 seconds) 1:2:2 (1h, 2m, 2 seconds) 1:2:20 (1h, 2m, 20 seconds) I dont want the user to be confused. • ASP.NET State Error

  I am have an asp.net page, where a list of products is shown in a drop down. When a user selects an item, corresponding price, available quantity etc. are shown in the corresponding text boxes. I have used ajax update panel to retrieve these information. This approach seems to work nicely. But sometimes when a product is selected, it takes too long for the price, quantities to change, and sometimes they don't even change. Then I used firebug to see what happened to the ajax request, and I found out that the response that is coming from the server is something like this - 70|error|500|The state information is invalid for this page and might be corrupted.| I have absolutely no idea what is wrong here.............

Therefore, we did a sync and then this to flush the cache and buffers: echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches and directly afterwards the I/O wait and service times virtually went through the roof, and everything on the machine felt like slow motion. During the next few hours the latency recovered and everything was as before - small to medium lags in short, unpredictable intervals. Now my question is: does anybody have any idea what might cause this annoying behaviour? Is it the first indication of the disk array or the raid controller dying, or something that can be easily mended by rebooting? (At the moment we're very reluctant to do this, however, because we're afraid that the disks might not come back up again.) Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Chris. Edited to add: we do see one or two processes go to 'D' state in top, one of which seems to be kjournald rather frequently. If I'm not mistaken, however, this does not indicate the processes causing the latency, but rather those affected by it - correct me if I'm wrong.
