  • CSS selector driving me nuts!!!

    - by YsoL8
    Apoologies in advance for the slightly long winded code in this question @charset "UTF-8"; /* CSS Document */ * { margin:0; padding:0; font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; } #wrapper { width:900px; margin:0 auto 0 auto; } #header { background-color:#800080; width:894px; min-height:60px; padding-top:6px; padding-left:6px; } #header img { margin-left:200px; margin-top:10px; } #headerleft { float:left; } #header h2 { font-family:Arial Black, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color:#ffff00; font-size:36px; /*float:left;*/ } #header h3 { font-family:Arial Black, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color:#ffff00; font-size:14px; } #nav { background-color:#800080; width:100%; min-height:30px; } #nav ul { padding-left:7px; padding-right:7px; } #nav li { list-style:none; display:inline; padding:5px 44px 5px 44px; } #nav li a { color:#FFF; text-decoration:none; } #nav li a:hover { color:#ffff00; } #leftcol { background-color:#800080; width:125px; min-height:30px; float:left; } #leftcol img { margin-left:20px; margin-bottom:20px; } .content { padding:20px 10px 10px 20px; float:left; } <!-- admin classes --> .pageselect p { color:#C90; } #rightcol { /*background-color:#800080;*/ width:160px; min-height:330px; float:right; } .righthead { margin-top:7px; background-image:url(../images/rightcol-head.png); color:#FFF; padding: 5px 20px 5px 20px; font-size:14px; } .rightmid { background-image:url(../images/right-mid.jpg); padding: 5px 10px 5px 10px; font-size:14px; } .rightfoot { background-image:url(../images/right-foot.jpg); background-repeat:no-repeat; } .clear { clear:both; } #footer { background-color:#800080; width:880px; min-height:30px; margin-top:-20px; padding-top:30px; padding-left:20px; padding-bottom:10px; } #footer p { color:#ffff00; } #footer p a { color:#ffff00; text-decoration:none; } #footer p a:hover { font-weight:bold; } .error { color:#C30; } I have the above stylesheet. I am attempting to style the following element (taken from firefox web developer tools): html > body > div#wrapper > div#leftright > div.content > div.pageselect To my mind .pageselect should be the selector to do that, but I seem to be powerless to influence the style, and its just about sending me wacko! Why won't this work?

  • How do I return a message if $_GET is null or does not match any database entries?

    - by CT
    I am working on designing an IT Asset database. Here I am working on a page used to view details on a specific asset determined by an asset id. Here I grab $id from $_GET["id"]; When $id is null, the page does not load. When $id does not match any entry within the database, the page loads but no asset table is printed. In both these cases, I would like to display a message like "There is no database entry for that Asset ID" How would this be handled? Thank you. <?php /* * View Asset * */ # include functions script include "functions.php"; $id = $_GET["id"]; ConnectDB(); $type = GetAssetType($id); ?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css" /> <title>Wagman IT Asset</title> </head> <body> <div id="page"> <div id="header"> <img src="images/logo.png" /> </div> </div> <div id="content"> <div id="container"> <div id="main"> <div id="menu"> <ul> <table width="100%" border="0"> <tr> <td width="15%"></td> <td width="30%%"><li><a href="index.php">Search Assets</a></li></td> <td width="30%"><li><a href="addAsset.php">Add Asset</a></li></td> <td width="25%"></td> </tr> </table> </ul> </div> <div id="text"> <ul> <li> <h1>View Asset</h1> </li> </ul> <br /> <?php switch ($type){ case "Server": $result = QueryServer($id); $ServerArray = GetServerData($result); PrintServerTable($ServerArray); break; case "Desktop"; break; case "Laptop"; break; } ?> </div> </div> </div> <div class="clear"></div> <div id="footer" align="center"> <p>&nbsp;</p> </div> </div> <div id="tagline"> Wagman Construction - Bridging Generations since 1902 </div> </body> </html>

  • Craziest JavaScript behavior I've ever seen

    - by Dan Ray
    And that's saying something. This is based on the Google Maps sample for Directions in the Maps API v3. <html> <head> <meta name="viewport" content="initial-scale=1.0, user-scalable=no"/> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"/> <title>Google Directions</title> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=false"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> var directionDisplay; var directionsService = new google.maps.DirectionsService(); var map; function initialize() { directionsDisplay = new google.maps.DirectionsRenderer(); var myOptions = { zoom:7, mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP } map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"), myOptions); directionsDisplay.setMap(map); directionsDisplay.setPanel(document.getElementById("directionsPanel")); } function render() { var start; if(navigator.geolocation) { navigator.geolocation.getCurrentPosition(function(position) { start = new google.maps.LatLng(position.coords.latitude,position.coords.longitude); }, function() { handleNoGeolocation(browserSupportFlag); }); } else { // Browser doesn't support Geolocation handleNoGeolocation(); } alert("booga booga"); var end = '<?= $_REQUEST['destination'] ?>'; var request = { origin:start, destination:end, travelMode: google.maps.DirectionsTravelMode.DRIVING }; directionsService.route(request, function(response, status) { if (status == google.maps.DirectionsStatus.OK) { directionsDisplay.setDirections(response); } }); } </script> </head> <body style="margin:0px; padding:0px;" onload="initialize()"> <div><div id="map_canvas" style="float:left;width:70%; height:100%"></div> <div id="directionsPanel" style="float:right;width:30%;height 100%"></div> <script type="text/javascript">render();</script> </body> </html> See that "alert('booga booga')" in there? With that in place, this all works fantastic. Comment that out, and var start is undefined when we hit the line to define var request. I discovered this when I removed the alert I put in there to show me the value of var start, and it quit working. If I DO ask it to alert me the value of var start, it tells me it's undefined, BUT it has a valid (and accurate!) value when we define var request a few lines later. I'm suspecting it's a timing issue--like an asynchronous something is having time to complete in the background in the moment it takes me to dismiss the alert. Any thoughts on work-arounds?

  • jQuery: Div elements are not showing up

    - by Legend
    I am adapting the Coverflow technique to work with a div. Following is the html: <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <style type="text/css" media="screen"> body,html { margin: 0; padding: 0; background: #000; height: 100%; color: #eee; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10px; } div.magnifyme { height: 80px; padding: 80px; position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; width: 8000px; } div.wrapper { margin: 0px; height: 470px; /*border: 2px solid #999;*/ overflow: hidden; padding-left: 40px; right: 1px; width: 824px; position: relative; } div.container {position: relative; width: 854px; height: 480px; background: #000; margin: auto;} div.nav {position: absolute; top: 10px; width: 20%; height: 10%; right: 1px; } div.magnifyme div { position: absolute; width: 300px; height: 280px; float: left; margin: 5px; position: relative; border: 2px solid #999; background: #500; } </style> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-1.3.2.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="ui.coverflow.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $("div.magnifyme").coverflow(); $("#add").click(function() { location.reload(); $(".magnifyme").append("<div id=\"div5\">hello world</div>"); $("div.magnifyme").coverflow(); }); }); </script> </head> <body> <div class="container"> <div class="wrapper"> <div class="magnifyme"> <div id="div0">This is div 0</div> <div id="div1">This is div 1</div> <div id="div2">This is div 2</div> <div id="div3">This is div 3</div> <div id="div4">This is div 4</div> </div> </div> <div class="nav"> <button type="button" id="add">Add to Deck</button> </div> </div> </body> </html> The coverflow function (included as a js file in the head section) is here. When I click the button, I was expecting it to add a DIV to the already present deck. For some reason, it doesn't show the newly added DIV. I tried calling the coverflow() function after I added the new element but that didn't work either. Is there any way I can make this work?

    I'm trying to use requests to login to a website but as you can guess I'm having a problem here's the the code that I'm using import requests EMAIL = '***' PASSWORD = '***' URL = 'https://portal.bitcasa.com/login' client = requests.session(config={'verbose': sys.stderr}) login_data = {'username': EMAIL, 'password': PASSWORD,} r = client.post(URL, data=login_data, headers={"Referer": "foo"}) print r and if I print out r.text I get <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html lang="en"> <head><script type="text/javascript">var NREUMQ=NREUMQ||[];NREUMQ.push(["mark","firstbyte",new Date().getTime()])</script> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> <meta name="robots" content="NONE,NOARCHIVE"> <title>403 Forbidden</title> <style type="text/css"> html * { padding:0; margin:0; } body * { padding:10px 20px; } body * * { padding:0; } body { font:small sans-serif; background:#eee; } body>div { border-bottom:1px solid #ddd; } h1 { font-weight:normal; margin-bottom:.4em; } h1 span { font-size:60%; color:#666; font-weight:normal; } #info { background:#f6f6f6; } #info ul { margin: 0.5em 4em; } #info p, #summary p { padding-top:10px; } #summary { background: #ffc; } #explanation { background:#eee; border-bottom: 0px none; } </style> </head> <body> <div id="summary"> <h1>Forbidden <span>(403)</span></h1> <p>CSRF verification failed.   • Search Form in Responsive Design - Remove Search button on Mobile

    - by Kevin
    I'm working with a search box in the header of a responsive website. On desktop/tablet widths, there's a search input field and a styled 'search' button to the right. You can type in a search term and either click 'SEARCH' button or just hit enter on the keyboard with the same result. When you scale down to mobile widths, the search input field fills the width of the screen. The submit button falls below it. On a desktop, clicking the button or hitting enter activate the search. On an actual iphone phone, you can hit the 'SEARCH' button, but the native mobile keyboard that rises from the bottom of the screen has a search button where the enter/return key would normally be. It seems to know I'm in a form and the keyboard automatically gives me the option to kick off the search by basically hitting the ENTER key location....but it says SEARCH. So far so good. I figure I don't need the button in the header on mobile since it's already in the keyboard. Therefore, I'll hide the button on mobile widths and everything will be tighter and look better. So I added this to my CSS to hide it in mobile: #search-button {display: none;} But now the search doesn't work at all. On mobile, I don't get the option in the keyboard that showed up before and if I just hit enter, it doesn't work at all. On desktop at mobile width, hitting enter also not longer works. So clearly by hiding the submit/search button, the phone no longer gave me the native option to run the search. In addition, on the desktop at mobile width, even hitting enter inside the search input box also fails to launch the the search. Here's my search box: <form id="search-form" method="get" accept-charset="UTF-8, utf-8" action="search.php"> <fieldset> <div id="search-wrapper"> <label id="search-label" for="search">Item:</label> <input id="search" class="placeholder-color" name="item" type="text" placeholder="Item Number or Description" /> <button id="search-button" title="Go" type="submit"><span class="search-icon"></span></button> </div> </fieldset> </form> Here's what my CSS looks like: #search-wrapper { float: left; display: inline-block; position: relative; white-space: nowrap; } #search-button { display: inline-block; cursor: pointer; vertical-align: top; height: 30px; width: 40px; } @media only screen and (max-width: 639px) { #search-wrapper { display: block; margin-bottom: 7px; } #search-button { /* this didn't work....it hid the button but the search failed to load */ display: none;*/ } } So.....how can I hide this submit button when I'm on a mobile screen, but still let the search run from the mobile keyboard or just run by hitting enter when in the search input box. I was sure that putting display:none on the search button at mobile width would do the trick, but apparently not. Thanks...

  • Unable to show Desktop Notifications using Google Chrome

    - by Praveen Kumar
    I followed the instructions as given in Using The Notifications API. Also I faced many problems like the below, because I added the document.querySelector() inside the <head> part: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'addEventListener' of null Now I have the below source, where I am able to Check Notification Support, and Check Notification Permissions links. Guide me how to bring in notifications in a simpler way. Also, I tried this: $("#html").click(function() { if (window.webkitNotifications.checkPermission() == 0) { createNotificationInstance({ notificationType: 'html' }); } else { window.webkitNotifications.requestPermission(); } }); Now I am stuck with this source. I need to generate HTML & Simple Notifications. Am I missing something? Please guide me. My HTML looks like this: <html> <head><title>Publications Database | Which spotlight for Publications</title> <script type="text/javascript" src="./jquery.js"></script> <script src="./addSpotlight.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> </head> <body> <div class="wrapper"> <div class="header"> <div class="headerText">Which spotlight for Publications</div> </div> <div class="mainContent"> <p>Please select the publication that you would like to make the spotlight of this month:</p> <form action="addSpotlight" method="POST" id="form" name="form"> <div class="div29" id="div29"><input type="radio" value="29" name="publicationIDs" >A System For Dynamic Server Allocation in Application Server Clusters, IEEE International Symposium on Parallel and Distributed Processsing with Applications, 2008 </div> <div class="div30" id="div30"><input type="radio" value="30" name="publicationIDs" >Analysing BitTorrent's Seeding Strategies, 7th IEEE/IFIP International Conference on Embedded and Ubiquitous Computing (EUC-09), 2009 </div> <div class="div31" id="div31"><input type="radio" value="31" name="publicationIDs" >The Effect of Server Reallocation Time in Dynamic Resource Allocation, UK Performance Engineering Workshop 2009, 2009 </div> <div class="div32" id="div32"><input type="radio" value="32" name="publicationIDs" >idk, hello, 1992 </div> <div class="div33" id="div33"><input type="radio" value="33" name="publicationIDs" >sad, safg, 1992 </div> <div class="abstractWriteup" id="abstractWriteup"><textarea name="abstract"></textarea> <input type="submit" value="Add Spotlight"></div> </form> </div> </div> </body> </html> My javascript looks like this: $(document).ready( function() { $('.abstractWriteup').hide(); addAbstract(); }); function addAbstract() { var abstractWU = document.getElementById('.abstractWriteup'); $("input[name='publicationIDs']").change(function() { var abstractWU = document.getElementById('.abstractWriteup'); var classNameOfSelected = $("input[name='publicationIDs']").val(); var radioSelected = document.getElementById("div"+classNameOfSelected); var parentDiv = radioSelected.parentNode; parentDiv.insertBefore(radioSelected, abstractWU.nextSibling); $('.abstractWriteup').show(); });}; I have developed this by using Node#insertBefore. When I have had it working it has been rearranging the radio buttons. Thanks in Advance Dean

  • [BEGINNER] Javascript Pop Ups

    - by user566312
    Hey All, My boss has asked for a page that will not change to have two timed pop ups load. I have found code and edited it to what I had thought it should do, but it is only loading the last onLoad event. I am a designer and I have helped with making webpages, but Javascript is so far outside of what I can understand. I have already learned how to use the single pop up and spent a whiiile learning the timeouts, but I cannot seem to get it to work with multiple popup functions. If you have a moment, would you take a look? Thank you :) h <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>H's Page 1</title> <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> <!-- Original: Ronnie T. • Ensuring a divs content has changed over time in Selenium

    - by Stewart Robinson
    I have a div that contains a slideshow. ( http://film.robinhoodtax.org/issues/education ) I am using Selenium to test it. So far I have been using the HTML/Selenium script below to validate that the slideshow is actually working. But my assertEval is failing. How can I correctly detect the slideshow and make sure it is moving?. You can see I've approached this by storing the HTML and waiting then trying again but it isn't working. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head profile="http://selenium-ide.openqa.org/profiles/test-case"> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> <link rel="selenium.base" href="" /> <title>New Test</title> </head> <body> <table cellpadding="1" cellspacing="1" border="1"> <thead> <tr><td rowspan="1" colspan="3">New Test</td></tr> </thead><tbody> <tr> <td>open</td> <td>/issues/education</td> <td></td> </tr> <tr> <td>waitForPageToLoad</td> <td></td> <td></td> </tr> <tr> <td>assertElementPresent</td> <td>css=div[id='views-nivo-slider-ImagesGallery-block_1']</td> <td></td> </tr> <tr> <td>storeHtmlSource</td> <td>css=div[id='views-nivo-slider-ImagesGallery-block_1']</td> <td>first</td> </tr> <tr> <td>pause</td> <td>3000</td> <td></td> </tr> <tr> <td>storeHtmlSource</td> <td>css=div[id='views-nivo-slider-ImagesGallery-block_1']</td> <td>second</td> </tr> <tr> <td>assertEval</td> <td>${first} == ${second}</td> <td>second</td> </tr> </tbody></table> </body> </html>

  • How do I get jqGrid to work using ASP.NET + JSON on the backend?

    - by briandus
    Hi friends, ok, I'm back. I totally simplified my problem to just three simple fields and I'm still stuck on the same line using the addJSONData method. I've been stuck on this for days and no matter how I rework the ajax call, the json string, blah blah blah...I can NOT get this to work! I can't even get it to work as a function when adding one row of data manually. Can anyone PLEASE post a working sample of jqGrid that works with ASP.NET and JSON? Would you please include 2-3 fields (string, integer and date preferably?) I would be happy to see a working sample of jqGrid and just the manual addition of a JSON object using the addJSONData method. Thanks SO MUCH!! If I ever get this working, I will post a full code sample for all the other posting for help from ASP.NET, JSON users stuck on this as well. Again. THANKS!! tbl.addJSONData(objGridData); //err: tbl.addJSONData is not a function!! Here is what Firebug is showing when I receive this message: • objGridData Object total=1 page=1 records=5 rows=[5] ? • jQuery tabs error when used with jTemplates

    - by tessa
    I am using jTemplates to format data returned from a json query. I am trying to transform the div with the id "fundingDialogTabs" into jQuery tabs after the template is processed. It renders the tab buttons, but both fragment1 and fragment2 divs are showing at the same time. I get the error "jQuery UI Tabs: Mismatching fragment identifier" when clicking on the fragment2 tab. I tested the jQuery tabs code outside of the template and it works fine. Here is the template (saved in .tpl file). {#template MAIN} <div style="width:500px"> <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" id="fundingDialogTitle"> <tr> <td class="fundingDialogTitle">Funding Breakout</td> <td style="text-align:right"><img src="../../images/fscaClose.gif" onclick="CloseFundingDialog()" style="cursor:hand; width:25px; height:25px;"></td> </tr> </table> </div> <div style="padding:10px 10px 10px 10px; width:500px"> <div id="fundingDialogTabs"> <ul> <li><a href="#fragment1"><span>Source</span></a></li> <li><a href="#fragment2"><span>Line Item</span></a></li> </ul> <div id="fragment1"> <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" id="fundingDialog"> <tr> <th>Funding Source</th> <th>Amount</th> </tr> {#foreach $T.d as fundingList} {#include ROW root=$T.fundingList} {#/for} </table> </div> <div id="fragment2"> Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nibh euismod tincidunt ut laoreet dolore magna aliquam erat volutpat. • PHP - DOM class - numbered entities and encodings problem

    - by user343607
    Hi guys, I'm having some difficult with PHP DOM class. I am making a sitemap script, and I need the output of $doc-saveXML() to be like <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <root> <url> <loc>http://www.somesite.com/servi&#xE7;os/redesign</loc> </url> </root> or <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <root> <url> <loc>http://www.somesite.com/servi&#231;os/redesign</loc> </url> </root> but I am getting: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <root> <url> <loc>http://www.somesite.com/servi&amp;#xE7;os/redesign</loc> </url> </root> This is the closet I could get, using a replace named to numbered entities function. I was also able to reproduce <?xml version="1.0" ?> <root> <url> <loc>http://www.somesite.com/servi&amp;#xE7;os/redesign</loc> </url> </root> But without the encoding specified. The best solution (the way I think the code should be written) would be: <?php $myArray = array(); // do some stuff to populate the with URL strings $doc = new DOMDocument('1.0', 'UTF-8'); // here we modify some property. Maybe is the answer I am looking for... $urlset = doc->createElement("urlset"); $urlset = $doc->appendChild($urlset); foreach($myArray as $address) { $url = $doc->createElement("url"); $url = $urlset->appendChild($url); $loc = $doc->createElement("loc"); $loc = $url->appendChild($loc); $valueContent = $doc->createTextNode($value); $valueContent = $loc->appendChild($address); } echo $doc->saveXML(); ?> Notes: Server response header contains charset as UTF-8; PHP script is saved in UTF-8; URLs read are UTF-8 strings; Above script contains encoding declaration on DOMDocument constructor, and does not use any convert functions, like htmlentities, urlencode, utf8_encode... I've tried changing the DOMDocument properties DOMDocument::$resolveExternals and DOMDocument::$substituteEntities values. None combinations worked. And yes, I know I can made all process without specifying the character set on DOMDocument constructor, dump string content into a variable and make a very simple string substitution with string replace functions. This works. But I would like to know where I am slipping, how can this be made using native API's and settings, or even if this is possible. Thanks in advance.

  • IE 6 and 7 background inheritance problem, how do I solve this?

    - by Evilalan
    When I'm trying to create a rounded shaded box it works fine on FF and IE8 but on IE6 and IE7, any div inside the box gets the last background but if you set that all divs on the level where there should not be a background have background:none it doesn't show any background on the level that comes before *The code is pointing to live images on Image Shack so you can save and run that it will work normally on Firefox but you can see what happen on IE6/7. • How to select all options from a drop list in php / mysql

    - by Mirage81
    Thanks to stackoverflow.com's frienly experts I've managed to create my first php + mysql application. The code searches a mysql database for last names and cities. The choices are made through two drop lists like these: Choose city: All cities Liverpool Manchester Choose last name: All last names Lennon Gallagher The code would return eg. all the Lennons living in Liverpool. However, I haven't been able to make the options "All cities" and "All last names" to work so that the code would return eg. all the Lennons living in any city or all the people living in Liverpool. So, how can that be done? The code so far: index.php <?php $conn = mysql_connect('localhost', 'user', 'password') or die("Connection failed"); mysql_select_db("database", $conn) or die("Switch database failed"); //this gets the cities from the database to the drop list $query = "SELECT DISTINCT city FROM user".mysql_real_escape_string($city); $result = mysql_query($query, $conn); $options=""; while ($row=mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $city=$row["city"]; $options.="<OPTION VALUE=\"$city\">".$city; } //this gets the last names from the database to the drop list $query2 = "SELECT DISTINCT lastname FROM user".mysql_real_escape_string($lastname); $result2 = mysql_query($query2, $conn); $options2=""; while ($row2=mysql_fetch_array($result2)) { $lastname=$row2["lastname"]; $options2.="<OPTION VALUE=\"$lastname\">".$lastname; } ?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <meta content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" http-equiv="content-type"> <title>test</title> </head> <body> <form action="get.php" method="post"> <p> <select name="city"> <option value=0>Choose <option value=1>All cities <?=$options?> </select> </p> <p> <select name="lastname"> <option value=0>Choose <option value=1>All last names <?=$options2?> </select> </p> <p> <input value="Search" type="submit"> </p> </form> <br> </body> </html> get.php <?php $conn = mysql_connect('localhost', 'user', 'password') or die("Connection failed"); mysql_select_db("database", $conn) or die("Switch database failed"); $query = "SELECT * FROM user WHERE city = '".mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['city'])."' AND lastname = '".mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['lastname'])."'"; $result = mysql_query($query, $conn); echo $rowcount; $zerorows=true; while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { $zerorows=false; echo '<b>City: </b>'.htmlspecialchars($row[city]).'<br />'; echo '<b>Last name: </b>'.htmlspecialchars($row[lastname]).'<br />'; echo '<b>Information: </b>'.htmlspecialchars($row[information]).'<br />'.'<br />'; } if($zerorows) echo "No results"; mysql_close($conn); ?>

  • Value gets changed upon comiting. | CallableStatements

    - by Triztian
    Hello, I having a weird problem with a DAO class and a StoredProcedure, what is happening is that I use a CallableStatement object which takes 15 IN parameters, the value of the field id_color is retrieved correctly from the HTML forms it even is set up how it should in the CallableStatement setter methods, but the moment it is sent to the database the id_color is overwriten by the value 3 here's the "context": I have the following class DAO.CoverDAO which handles the CRUD operations of this table CREATE TABLE `cover_details` ( `refno` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `shape` tinyint(3) unsigned NOT NULL , `id_color` tinyint(3) unsigned NOT NULL ', `reversefold` bit(1) NOT NULL DEFAULT b'0' , `x` decimal(6,3) unsigned NOT NULL , `y` decimal(6,3) unsigned NOT NULL DEFAULT '0.000', `typecut` varchar(10) NOT NULL, `cornershape` varchar(20) NOT NULL, `z` decimal(6,3) unsigned DEFAULT '0.000' , `othercornerradius` decimal(6,3) unsigned DEFAULT '0.000'', `skirt` decimal(5,3) unsigned NOT NULL DEFAULT '7.000', `foamTaper` varchar(3) NOT NULL, `foamDensity` decimal(2,1) unsigned NOT NULL , `straplocation` char(1) NOT NULL ', `straplength` decimal(6,3) unsigned NOT NULL, `strapinset` decimal(6,3) unsigned NOT NULL, `spayear` varchar(20) DEFAULT 'Not Specified', `spamake` varchar(20) DEFAULT 'Not Specified', `spabrand` varchar(20) DEFAULT 'Not Specified', PRIMARY KEY (`refno`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM AUTO_INCREMENT=143 DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 $$ The the way covers are being inserted is by a stored procedure, which is the following: CREATE DEFINER=`root`@`%` PROCEDURE `putCover`( IN shape TINYINT, IN color TINYINT(3), IN reverse_fold BIT, IN x DECIMAL(6,3), IN y DECIMAL(6,3), IN type_cut VARCHAR(10), IN corner_shape VARCHAR(10), IN cutsize DECIMAL(6,3), IN corner_radius DECIMAL(6,3), IN skirt DECIMAL(5,3), IN foam_taper VARCHAR(7), IN foam_density DECIMAL(2,1), IN strap_location CHAR(1), IN strap_length DECIMAL(6,3), IN strap_inset DECIMAL(6,3) ) BEGIN INSERT INTO `dbre`.`cover_details` (`dbre`.`cover_details`.`shape`, `dbre`.`cover_details`.`id_color`, `dbre`.`cover_details`.`reversefold`, `dbre`.`cover_details`.`x`, `dbre`.`cover_details`.`y`, `dbre`.`cover_details`.`typecut`, `dbre`.`cover_details`.`cornershape`, `dbre`.`cover_details`.`z`, `dbre`.`cover_details`.`othercornerradius`, `dbre`.`cover_details`.`skirt`, `dbre`.`cover_details`.`foamTaper`, `dbre`.`cover_details`.`foamDensity`, `dbre`.`cover_details`.`strapLocation`, `dbre`.`cover_details`.`strapInset`, `dbre`.`cover_details`.`strapLength` ) VALUES (shape,color,reverse_fold, x,y,type_cut,corner_shape, cutsize,corner_radius,skirt,foam_taper,foam_density, strap_location,strap_inset,strap_length); END As you can see basically it just fills each field, now, the CoverDAO.create(CoverDTO cover) method which creates the cover is like so: public void create(CoverDTO cover) throws DAOException { Connection link = null; CallableStatement query = null; try { link = MySQL.getConnection(); link.setAutoCommit(false); query = link.prepareCall("{CALL putCover(?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?)}"); query.setLong(1,cover.getShape()); query.setInt(2,cover.getColor()); query.setBoolean(3, cover.getReverseFold()); query.setBigDecimal(4,cover.getX()); query.setBigDecimal(5,cover.getY()); query.setString(6,cover.getTypeCut()); query.setString(7,cover.getCornerShape()); query.setBigDecimal(8, cover.getZ()); query.setBigDecimal(9, cover.getCornerRadius()); query.setBigDecimal(10, cover.getSkirt()); query.setString(11, cover.getFoamTaper()); query.setBigDecimal(12, cover.getFoamDensity()); query.setString(13, cover.getStrapLocation()); query.setBigDecimal(14, cover.getStrapLength()); query.setBigDecimal(15, cover.getStrapInset()); query.executeUpdate(); link.commit(); } catch (SQLException e) { throw new DAOException(e); } finally { close(link, query); } } The CoverDTO is made of accessesor methods, the MySQL object basically returns the connection from a pool. Here is the pset Query with dummy but appropriate data: putCover(1,10,0,80.000,80.000,'F','Cut',0.000,0,15.000,'4x2',1.5,'A',10.000,5.000) As you can see everything is fine just when I write to the DB instead of 10 in the second parameter a 3 is written. I have done the following: Traced the id_color value to the create method, still got replaced by a 3 Hardcoded the value in the DAO create method, still got replaced by a 3 Called the procedure from the MySQL Workbench, it worked fined so I assume something is happening in the create method, any help is really appreciated.

  • Using jQuery to call a web service

    I have created a web service which takes a username and password as parameters and returns a list of children in JSON (the user is a Social Worker). The web service is hosted locally with IIS7. I am attempting to access the web service using javascript/jquery because it will eventually need to run as a mobile app. I'm not really experienced with web services, or javascript for that matter, but the following two links seemed to point me in the right direction: http://williamsportwebdeveloper.com/cgi/wp/?p=494 http://encosia.com/using-jquery-to-consume-aspnet-json-web-services/ This is my html page: <%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/MasterPage.Master" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="TestWebService.aspx.cs" Inherits="Sponsor_A_Child.TestWebService" %> <asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="stylesPlaceHolder" runat="server"> <script type="text/javascript" src="Scripts/jquery-1.7.1.js"> $(document).ready(function () { }); function LoginClientClick() { $("#query_results").empty(); $("#query_results").append('<table id="ResultsTable" class="ChildrenTable"><tr><th>Child_ID</th><th>Child_Name</th><th>Child_Surname</th></tr>'); $.ajax({ type: "POST", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", url: "http://localhost/PhoneWebServices/GetChildren.asmx/GetMyChildren", data: '{ "email" : "' + $("#EmailBox").val() + '", "password": "' + $("#PasswordBox").val() + '" }', dataType: "json", success: function (msg) { var c = eval(msg.d); alert("" + c); for (var i in c) { $("#ResultsTable tr:last").after("<tr><td>" + c[i][0] + "</td><td>" + c[i][1] + "</td><td>" + c[i][2] + "</td></tr>"); } } }); } </script> </asp:Content> <asp:Content ID="Content2" ContentPlaceHolderID="contentPlaceHolder" runat="server"> <div id="LoginDiv"> Email: <input id="EmailBox" type="text" /><br /> Password: <input id="PasswordBox" type="password" /><br /> <input id="LoginButton" type="button" value="Submit" onclick="LoginClientClick()" /> </div> <div id="query_results"> </div> </asp:Content> And this is my web service code: [WebMethod (Description="Returns the list of children for whom the social worker is responsible.")] public String GetMyChildren(String email,String password) { DataSet MyChildren=new DataSet(); int ID=SocialWorkerLogin(email, password); if (ID > 0) { MyChildren = FillChildrenTable(ID); } MyChildren.DataSetName = "My Children"; //To prevent 'DataTable name not set' error string[][] JaggedArray = new string[MyChildren.Tables[0].Rows.Count][]; int i = 0; foreach (DataRow rs in MyChildren.Tables[0].Rows) { JaggedArray[i] = new string[] { rs["Child_ID"].ToString(), rs["Child_Name"].ToString(), rs["Child_Surname"].ToString() }; i = i + 1; } // Return JSON data JavaScriptSerializer js = new JavaScriptSerializer(); string strJSON = js.Serialize(JaggedArray); return strJSON; } I followed the examples in the provided links, but when I press submit, only the table headers appear but not the list of children. When I test the web service on it's own though, it does return a JSON string so that part seems to be working. Any help is greatly appreciated :)

  • How can I disable 'output escaping' in minidom

    - by William
    I'm trying to build an xml document from scratch using xml.dom.minidom. Everything was going well until I tried to make a text node with a ® (Registered Trademark) symbol in. My objective is for when I finally hit print mydoc.toxml() this particular node will actually contain a ® symbol. First I tried: import xml.dom.minidom as mdom data = '®' which gives the rather obvious error of: File "C:\src\python\HTMLGen\test2.py", line 3 SyntaxError: Non-ASCII character '\xae' in file C:\src\python\HTMLGen\test2.py on line 3, but no encoding declared; see http://www.python.or g/peps/pep-0263.html for details I have of course also tried changing the encoding of my python script to 'utf-8' using the opening line comment method, but this didn't help. So I thought import xml.dom.minidom as mdom data = '&#174;' #Both accepted xml encodings for registered trademark data = '&reg;' text = mdom.Text() text.data = data print data print text.toxml() But because when I print text.toxml(), the ampersands are being escaped, I get this output: &reg; &amp;reg; My question is, does anybody know of a way that I can force the ampersands not to be escaped in the output, so that I can have my special character reference carry through to the XML document? Basically, for this node, I want print text.toxml() to produce output of &reg; or &#174; in a happy and cooperative way! EDIT 1: By the way, if minidom actually doesn't have this capacity, I am perfectly happy using another module that you can recommend which does. EDIT 2: As Hugh suggested, I tried using data = u'®' (while also using data # -*- coding: utf-8 -*- Python source tags). This almost helped in the sense that it actually caused the ® symbol itself to be outputted to my xml. This is actually not the result I am looking for. As you may have guessed by now (and perhaps I should have specified earlier) this xml document happens to be an HTML page, which needs to work in a browser. So having ® in the document ends up causing rubbish in the browser (® to be precise!). I also tried: data = unichr(174) text.data = data.encode('ascii','xmlcharrefreplace') print text.toxml() But of course this lead to the same origional problem where all that happens is the ampersand gets escaped by .toxml(). My ideal scenario would be some way of escaping the ampersand so that the XML printing function won't "escape" it on my behalf for the document (in other words, achieving my original goal of having &reg; or &#174; appear in the document). Seems like soon I'm going to have to resort to regular expressions! EDIT 2a: Or perhaps not. Seems like getting my html meta information correct <META http-equiv="Content-Type" Content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"> could help, but I'm not sure yet how this fits in with the xml structure...

  • Google Chrome Frame and Facebook Javascript SDK - Cannot login

    - by Giannis Savvakis
    On the example below i have an html page with the javascript code needed to login to facebook. On the i have the Google Chrome Frame meta tag that makes the page run with google chrome frame. If you open this page with any browser the finish() callback runs normally. If you open it with Google Chrome Frame it never fires. So this means that every Facebook App that tries to login to gather user data cannot login. This happens if the page is opened with google frame. But even if i remove the meta tag so that the page can open with IE8 the page opens again with google chrome frame because Facebook opens google chrome frame by default. So because this is a Facebook app that runs inside an inside facebook.com it is forced to open with Google Chrome Frame! SERIOUS BUG! I have seen other people reporting it, someone has made a test facebook app also here: http://apps.facebook.com/gcftest/ appID and channelUrl are dummy in the example below. <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:fb="http://www.facebook.com/2008/fbml"> <head> <meta name="generator" content= "HTML Tidy for Linux/x86 (vers 11 February 2007), see www.w3.org" /> <meta charset="utf-8" /> <meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate" /> <meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache" /> <meta http-equiv="Expires" content="0" /> <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=Edge,chrome=IE8" /> <title>Facebook Login</title> <script type="text/javascript"> //<![CDATA[ // Load the SDK Asynchronously (function(d){ var js, id = 'facebook-jssdk', ref = d.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) { return; } js = d.createElement('script'); js.id = id; js.async = true; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js"; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(js, ref); }(document)); var appID = '0000000000000'; var channelUrl = '//myhost/channel.html'; // Init the SDK upon load window.fbAsyncInit = function() { FB.init({ appId : appID, // App ID channelUrl : channelUrl, status : true, // check login status cookie : true, // enable cookies to allow the server to access the session xfbml : true // parse XFBML }); FB.Event.subscribe('auth.statusChange', function(response) { if(!response.authResponse) FB.login(finish, {scope: 'publish_actions,publish_stream'}); else finish(response); }); FB.getLoginStatus(finish); } function finish(response) { alert("Hello "+response.name); } //]]> </script> </head> <body> <h1>Facebook login</h1> <p>Do NOT close this window.</p> <p>please wait...</p> </body> </html>

  • Div in HTML not floating left with CSS

    - by rusty009
    My div with class name 'header-body-right' doesn't seem to be floating to the left of my div named 'header-body-centre' and I can't understand why, here is my HTML, <!DOCTYPE HTML> <HTML> <HEAD> <TITLE> </TITLE> <meta charset="UTF-8" /> <link href="main.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"> <META NAME="Generator" CONTENT="Notepad"> <META NAME="Author" CONTENT="00"> <META NAME="KEYWORDS" CONTENT="" /> <META NAME="DESCRIPTION" CONTENT="" /> </HEAD> <BODY> <div class="header-top"> </div> <div class="header-body"> <div class="header-body-centre"> <div class="logo"> <img src="logo.png" /> </div> </div> <div class="header-body-right"> test </div> </div> <div class="navbar"> </div> <div class="content-container"> </div> </BODY> </HTML> The CSS I am using for the code is posted below, body { margin:0px; padding:0px; } .header-top { height:11px; width:100%; background-image: url('HeaderTopNav.png'); background-repeat: repeat-x; } .header-body { width:100%; height:100px; } .header-body-centre { margin: 0 auto; height:100%; width:70%; } .header-body-right { width:15%; height:100px; float:left; } .navbar { height:35px; width:auto; border: 1px solid green; } .logo { margin-top:35px; float:left; } .quickNav { float:right; } .container { margin: 0 auto; background-color: #fff; border: 2px solid #c9c8c8; border-bottom: none; height:auto; overflow:hidden; width: 1000px; clear:both; } Can anyone see why? I have tried floating the header-bosy-centre and decreasing the width of the header-body-right but nothing works. Can anyone see what I have done wrong? I am out of ideas. Thanks.

    I have a Problem with Outlook 2010. The Message is in this File. How can I fix that, that the message shows in the E-Mail. Is this a Problem about the settings in Outlook?
