  • How do I add two alternating UITableViews to an existing UINavigationController view?

    - by Ron Flax
I'm new to iPhone development and I am writing an iPhone app that needs two different table views, which are selectable using a button bar or tab bar. These table views are both the same size, but only cover about two thirds of the screen from the bottom up. The top portion of the screen remains the same when either of these tables is displayed. I'd also like to animate (flip) these views when the user selects one or the other. The view that these two tables will be displayed on is the detail view of my app where the user has already selected an item from the primary screen's table. I'm using a UINavigationController to manage the primary and detail views and I have this working. I also have the first of these two detail tables working as part of my detail view, but I think it makes more sense to isolate the code for these two tables and not duplicate all of the code for the part of the detail view that doesn't change. I don't really care how these two table views are created (either in code or via IB). I've tried several things and I can't seem to figure it out. Any help or ideas (with sample code) would be greatly appreciated!

  • How to determine OS Platform with WMI?

    - by cary.wagner
I am trying to figure out if there is a location in WMI that will return the OS Architecture (i.e. 32-bit or 64-bit) that will work across "all" versions of Windows. I thought I had figured it out looking at my Win2k8 system when I found the following: Win32_OperatingSystem / OSArchitecture I was wrong. It doesn't appear that this field exists on Win2k3 systems. Argh! So, is anyone aware of another field in WMI that "is" the same across server versions? If not, what about a registry key that is the same? I am using a tool that only allows me to configure simple field queries, so I cannot use a complex script to perform. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers... Cary

  • Can I get Androis OS?

Now I want to know if I can get a copy of Android 1.6 or higher and put it on this device. I have looked on google, Torrent sites and ebay, but cannot find a copy of Android OS

  • Clear UIWebView content upon dismissal of modal view (iPhone OS 3.0)

    - by Ricky
I currently have a UIWebView that is displayed within a modal view. It is basically a detail view that provides a view of a page when the user clicks a link. When the view is dismissed and then brought up again (when the user clicks another link), the previously-loaded content is still visible and the new content loads "on top" of the last content. This makes sense because the instance of the UIWebView persists between sessions and is only released when the memory is needed. However, I would like to completely clear the UIWebView when the modal view is dismissed so that 1) content is cleared and 2) memory is freed. Thus far my research and attempts have not found an answer. These links haven't worked for me: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2184688/is-it-possible-to-free-memory-of-uiwebview http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2311564/reused-uiwebview-showing-previous-loaded-content-for-a-brief-second-on-iphone I've tried [[NSURLCache sharedURLCache] removeAllCachedResponses]; and setting the webView to nil and manually releasing the webView upon modal-view-dismiss to no avail. Any thoughts from the wizened masses?

  • Synthetic click doesn't switch application's menu bar (Mac OS X)

    - by Rok
    Hi. I'm developing some sort of air mouse application for iPhone platform. This applications connects to one computer service which generates mouse events on Mac OS X. I'm generating this events with CGEventCreateMouseEvent() and CGEventPost(). But I've encountered one problem. Let's say you are using Safari and then you click on free desktop space. If you do this with regular mouse it will hide Safari's top menu bar and show Finder menu bar. But on these synthetic events it doesn't act like that. Do I have to post some other event or set some additional properties? Here is my code for mouse up, mouse down: - (void)mouseUp:(int)button { int type = (button == LEFT_BUTTON) ? kCGEventLeftMouseUp : kCGEventRightMouseUp; int mouseButton = (button == LEFT_BUTTON) ? kCGMouseButtonLeft : kCGMouseButtonRight; leftMouseDown = (button == LEFT_BUTTON) ? NO : leftMouseDown; rightMouseDown = (button == RIGHT_BUTTON) ? NO : rightMouseDown; CGEventSourceRef source = CGEventSourceCreate(kCGEventSourceStateHIDSystemState); CGEventRef event = CGEventCreateMouseEvent (source, type, CGSCurrentInputPointerPosition(), mouseButton); CGEventSetType(event, type); CGEventPost(kCGHIDEventTap, event); CFRelease(event); } - (void)mouseDown:(int)button { int type = (button == LEFT_BUTTON) ? kCGEventLeftMouseDown : kCGEventRightMouseDown; int mouseButton = (button == LEFT_BUTTON) ? kCGMouseButtonLeft : kCGMouseButtonRight; leftMouseDown = (button == LEFT_BUTTON) ? YES : leftMouseDown; rightMouseDown = (button == RIGHT_BUTTON) ? YES : rightMouseDown; CGEventSourceRef source = CGEventSourceCreate(kCGEventSourceStateHIDSystemState); CGEventRef event = CGEventCreateMouseEvent (source, type, CGSCurrentInputPointerPosition(), mouseButton); CGEventSetType(event, type); CGEventPost(kCGHIDEventTap, event); CFRelease(event); }

  • Would there be a market for this idea (cross platform VM for iPhone OS)

    - by Tzury Bar Yochay
For a long time I wondered if the following idea worth a nickel or just a waste of time and energy. I am willing to start a project which will provide a kind of a VM for all iPxxx apps - so developed once for iPxxx can run on a Macbook, iMac, Linux, Android and windows (desktop and mobile). You get the idea, right? I want to do to the current iPhone SDK, the same as what Mono did to Microsoft .Net and perhaps a more complete set of implementation. I tend to believe that if overnight all apps on appstore become available on the android market as well that would be a mini revolution. Think about running iPad apps on every tablet that will come out to the market in the future. Wouldn't it be fantastic to all the developers, which from now on, can write once and sell everywhere? The main questions which I ask myself repeatedly is: "Is This Legal?" - I mean, say I have done this, would apple's lawyers will start sending me all kinds of nasty emails? I am willing to hear your opinion about this idea as well as if some of you willing and able to join forces and start this open source project.

  • How to save the content in UIWebView for faster loading on next launch?

    - by erotsppa
I know that there are some caching classes introduced in the iphone sdk recently, and there is also a TTURLRequest from three20's library that allows you to cache a request to a URL. However, because I am loading the web page in UIWebView by calling UIWebView's loadRequest, those techniques are not really applicable. Any ideas how I can save a web page so that on next app launch, I don't have to fetch from the web again for the full page? The page itself already have some ajax mechanism that updates parts of itself automatically.

Here is the example: http://aronnelson.com/problem/pdfproblem.jpg Note that the PDF on the left is preview, the PDF on the right is the same file but in Google Docs. See how clean the Google Docs version is? Is there any way to fix this problem? Would it help to draw the PDF larger and zoom down using a UIScrollView? Any help appreciated. Available in iPhone OS 1.0 and later. However, on my iPhone, I can't get it to work. Anyone have success with this? You can try it with this document (admittedly not pure html, but that document works in desktop Safari, and Chrome and Firefox 3). I haven't been able to get even the simplest html document to be editable in mobile Safari.
