jquery $.ajax load in UI dialog() problem

i have a working bing Image search api with jsonp datatype. It's working with no problems. When i load the image search script in a Jquery UI dialog, it display properly and i'm able to search and see the results in the dialog() box. But if i close the dialog() and open it again, now if i search no results show. Looking at console.log, i do confirm the jason data is recieved, but for some reason it's not appending to the result div, so i see no result on the screen. This onyl happens if i close the dialog and open it again. If i refresh refresh the page and open the dialog again then search results are displayed. This is what i'm using to append the results. $.each(data.SearchResponse.Image.Results, function(i, item) { console.log(item.Thumbnail.Url); $("#Results").append("<li><img style='width:100px; height:75px;' src='" + item.Thumbnail.Url + "'/></li>"); });

JQUERY AJAX works on linux, but not on windows box

I have a strange issue where the code works fine locally and on a linux server but not on a windows server... Works fine on: bijoudancewear.co.uk/mapper/ Doesn't work on: faringdongolfcourse.co.uk/mapper/ After clicking on map... If you click on 'Department Stores, fashion & Accessories' (2nd from bottom) it loads the appropriate data on the linux box but not on Windows. Also works fine locally on my mac, there is no ASP or PHP, this is good old fashioned html and jquery. Any pointers would be great.

I thought I would be able to select a div and replace the contents with load()?

Where Are the Release Versions of ASP.Net AJAX 4.0 Templating Files?

I'm trying to get the production version of ASP.Net AJAX 4.0 Templating working and can't find the JavaScript files. With the beta version I needed to reference MicrosoftAjaxTemplates.js, MicrosoftAjaxAdoNet.js, and MicrosoftAjaxDataContext.js. I can get everything to work with the beta CDN versions (e.g. http://ajax.microsoft.com/ajax/beta/0911/MicrosoftAjaxTemplates.js). But for the life of me I can't find 1. The release CDN versions of these files or 2. Where to download the whole Release ASP.Net AJAX 4.0 JavaScript package. The files certainly are not listed on the ASP.Net AJAX 4.0 CDN at http://www.asp.net/ajaxlibrary/CDNAjax4.ashx. Maybe the files have been renamed? Theoretically this should be a rediculously easy question and I'm a little embarrased to even ask it on StackOverflow, but I've had no luck finding an answer on my own. hello. I am WCF pure newbie. I know this question could look like dumb. I used to write ajax with the Webservice. but on this project. I tried to use WCF for ajax. after I build the project. I try to call wcf ajax. and I can receive return successfully. But 10 or more minute after. I cann't receive return, and the ajax call the error function. and the fiddler return nothing. if I rebuild the project without any source modifying, I can receive ajax return successfully. such a weird situation. is their anybody who experience this? and know why ? Thank You.

Remote Ajax Call in jQuery .click() function doesn't finish before going to next page.

I need to send click information on my website to a third party server using ajax (json). I am using jquery and I added the click event to certain links. In the click event I am making a json request to a remote server with the location of the click (heat map) and some other information. The problem is that the ajax function doesn't fire in time before the default link action happens. Setting async to false doesn't seem to work on remote ajax calls. I have tried preventDefault(), but then I don't know how to run the default action after the successful ajax call. Here is what I want to do: $('a').click(submit_click); function submit_click(e,fireAjax){ e.preventDefault(); cd_$.ajax({ url: jsonUrl, //remote server dataType: 'json', data: jsonData, async: false, success: function(reply){ //Run the default action here if I have to disable the default action }, }); } Any suggestions?

How do most small businesses acquire Office licenses?

A company I sometimes consult for is relatively small (40 employees), and they have a royal mess of Office licenses. OEM, Retail, Upgrades, O2K/XP/2K3/2K7, etc. They basically buy whatever retail license they can find cheapest online, and have someone track it all in a spreadsheet for compliance purposes. They also use a Microsoft Action pack license for getting another 10 copies of Office/Vista for free. While it all seems to follow Microsoft's licensing rules, it also seems horribly inefficient. I've talked to them about Microsoft's Open license, but they don't see any advantage to it. What do other relatively small businesses do? Are Open licenses popular, or do most of them just buy retail like my client?

When clicking on ajax.actionlink in its oncomplete function I can't update the html of a div whith requested data

In one partial view I've got some ajax.ActionLinks which when clicked update the div 'importpartupdate' (they just updates the div whith new ajax.actionLinks with other routevalues). The problem is that when this update is competed I have to update another div - depending on which link is clicked . That's why in my OnComplete function of my ajax.ActionLink I make an ajax request to the action'GridViewLanguage' which returns me the partial view which should uodate this other div which claass .floatLanguage. So the first time when I click a link eeverything works correctly and my two divs are correctly updated. How to make html-files with content to be used in a simple ajax site to behave nicely in google?

I made some ajax sites in the past where I used ajax to get more of a desktop application feeling for my sites and also to keep the site maintainable. My strategy was making one index page and from there pulling in html content from some subpages. (So far I didn't use ajax to send data to the server.) The problem that I ran into is this: I want the subpages to be readable by google since they contain valuable content but once they show up in google's results they lead to the naked html-file (no css nor Javascript). I solved this by putting a javascript redirect (window.location = ...) on the subpages so they lead to the correct page. So as an example let's say I have a site at example.com with some javascript and css and a naked content page that should be loaded via ajax: example.com/content.html. Via ajax I pull in what I need from the content file but since my index.html contains href's to the content.html file (I want the content of my ajax site to be readable without Javascript) it will be indexed by google and gets listed in the search results. But I don't want people to see the naked html file. Hence the redirect that goes to the index page and gets handled by some Javascript to show the content as I want it to be showed. I was wondering if there are nicer solutions to this problem or different approaches.

Learning rails and AJAX. How do I load a div via ajax and then toggle hiding/showing it?

I'm doing my first Ruby on Rails project. I am working on a project where the user can add a new message. Then they can add updates to this message like a thread. I've got it all written and now I'm going back and applying some AJAX. I want to show just the main message when the page first loads. Then when I click a link I want an AJAX event to fire that populates a div with all the updates to the message. Then I want this same link to toggle hiding and showing the div. I've made a submit button to fire the ajax and get back the updates using form_remote_tag. I've also created a separate link to toggle the hiding using $(div_id).toggle();. But now I'm stuck on how to combine these two things into one all purpose link. Thanks.

How to get DCOMperm.exe from Microsoft

So I've been trying to solve the "The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission" problem and everything I've been reading says I need to get "DCOMperm.exe". There are plenty of links to usage and download links that point to non-MS sources. I'd like to get this direct from Microsoft, but I can't find it there. Some people say that it's part of an SDK, but I'm not sure which one. Does anyone have any experience getting this exe?

Microsoft Word - Word count excluding specific Styles?

Hi, I was wondering if there's a way to get a word count that excludes text with a specific Style in a Microsoft Word 2007 document? I've seen this related question, but I've got blocks of source code scattered throughout which would mean I'd have to go through each of my documents a section at a time.. Does anyone know a way to do this with a macro or a splash of VB Script or some such? Thanks you!

I have primary and secondary (public) DNS servers running Microsoft DNS. Windows 2003. Would like any suggestions on software for DNS log analysis. At the moment, I'm curious to see which domains are being requested, in an effort to clean-up old Registrar-based name server settings (which I do not have access to change, myself.)
