• The specified module (mod_h264_streaming) could not be found (Apache2)?

  I'm trying to get the mod_h264_streaming to work with my Apache2 server. I downloaded a precompiled version of the mod from here. I read here that all I have to do is extract the file to my modules folder, which I did, and add LoadModule h264_streaming_module modules/mod_h264_streaming.so AddHandler h264-streaming.extensions .mp4 to the httpd.conf, which I also did. However, I get this error when I restart Apache: Syntax error on line 173 of C:/Program Files (x86)/Apache Group/Apache2/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load C:/Program Files (x86)/Apache Group/Apache2/modules/mod_h264_streaming.so into server: The specified module could not be found. Note the errors or messages above, and press the <ESC> key to exit. 26... Even though the file exists right here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Group\Apache2\modules\mod_h264_streaming.so Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

• 12.04 LTS boot hangs at "SP5100 TCO timer: mmio address 0xfec000f0 already in use", didn't yesterday

  Dual-booting Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. I went to reboot from Win to Ubu, and found a few interesting things. My POST screen is covered in blocks of epileptic colors until I hit GRUB, which continues when I try to boot into Ubuntu. These color blocks don't appear when I use my on-board VGA, so I'll just attribute to that. Grub dimensions are swapped (card vs onboard, probably), but, when interfacing with onboard VGA, the Grub Timeout Counter works and when using my card, it does not (see "[!!!]" below for more information) Booting into Ubuntu directly causes the error: SP5100 TCO timer: mmio address 0xfec000f0 already in use Booting into recovery mode, meanwhile, and then "resuming normal boot" gets me to the desktop without native 1440x900 resolution and graphic drivers can't tell the monitor it's looking at (I assume this is because it's not a full graphic boot, and as it says, some drivers won't run?) [!!!] When I reboot after going into recovery mode, the countdown timer works ONCE, puts me back into default ubuntu boot, and then does not work again until after another recovery-mode boot. Windows 7 can boot perfectly with no issues whatsoever from epilepsy color blocks or driver detection. This makes me wonder /why/ the POST screen can't handle my video card anymore. Amidst all the diagnostics, I opened my case and re-seated the videocard securely, ensuring it wasn't a loose connection-- But this did nothing to help me. Hardware I am running an NVidia GeForce GTX 8800 video card in a PCI slot. I have 4.8GiB memory, an AMD Athlon II Quad-core 640 Processor, on an MSI K9N6GM Series Mobo. Onboard video is an NVidia GeForce MCP61(V/S/P) card. Note: I did not have any of these problems yesterday, and I have been using Ubuntu intensively for a week, though it's been working flawlessly for months. I've recently been using it to mod my Android phone, perhaps I messed something up in the file system?

• how to log trigger intiated CRUD queries on postgresql 8.4

  in the postgresql config file there is an option log_statement = 'mod' which causes CRUD statements to be logged. However this does not include the CRUD statements that are called from trigger functions, which means that following the log file is not useful to determine what changes are being made to the database data, if the 3rd part application has been making lots of changes using triggers. Is there some other option I can use to include trigger CRUD? alternatively, can I inspect the pg_xlog in real time using some tool? (xlogdump and xlogviewer do not work with version 8.4, i have tried)

• Setting up Shibboleth to secure part of a website

  I've installed the Shibboleth module for apache on Ubuntu 10.04 using aptitude to install libapache2-mod-shib2 as per https://groups.google.com/group/shibboleth-users/browse_thread/thread/9fca3b2af04d5ca8?pli=1 and enabled the module (I have checked in /etc/apache2/mods-enabled) I then proceeded to secure a directory on the server by placing a .htaccess file with the following directives: AuthType shibboleth ShibRequestSetting requireSession 1 Require valid-user Now - I haven't set up an SSL host yet - and I also haven't set up the IdP - but I would expect that the server would block access to this directory - but I'm getting the content without any problems. I have restarted the apache service and I have no errors in the log files.

  I am not completely sure if this is the right place to put this question, but since it's the programming thread I guessed that there's many experienced programmers here. :) Ok, hello! My name is Andreas and I am a 16 years old guy from Norway. For some time now I've wanted to learn a programming language. Six months ago I started learning C++, but quit withing a week due to lack of motivation. The same thing happend only 2 months ago when I tried to learn Lua. I wanted to program mods to the game Garry's mod, and was really motivated. Then I stopped playing the game, and the programming stopped with it. Today though I am ready again. The only difference is that I am not completely sure what I want to do with the language. I only want to create something, and I miss the progress of failing and enduring hard work until I finally solve the problem I've worked on for hours. What I am trying to say is; Is there any program out there that allows me, a complete noob (I didn't learn that much in a week, so I like to call myself a beginner), to create apps, mods or something similar but at the same time being qualified as a first time language? I was thinking of Java, because Android, Minecraft and many other applications and games use it. But I've heard that it is going to be replaced by a program called HTML 5 (whatever that is), is this true? I certainly don't want to spend many hours of my life on something that is useless in a year or two. Hopefully I didn't make this too complicated. I know that it is hard to recommend something when I don't have a goal, but I really don't know what to say. • Include requested hostname in access_log

  I would like my access_log to list the host name that the client is requesting (e.g. when requesting http://www.example.com/test I should see "www.example.com" in the log). The only thing I have found so far is to use %v in the LogFormat directive, but this only gives "the canonical ServerName of the server serving the request" (as described by Apache at http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/mod/mod_log_config.html#formats). This does not help me for requests that use a hostname that is not specified in a ServerName directive. Is there any way to log the requested hostname? Thanks

• Is there an open source clone of a game in the Total War Series?

  I loved Shogun:Total War gameplay and then later on spent weeks re-enacting historical wars and battles with Europa Barbarorum. It's a mod for Rome:TW that focuses on historical accuracy in the peoples, units, sounds, visuals, everything from macro mechanics to actual battles (e.g. a lot more missiles). Since that time I kind of turned my back on Windows cause it sucks and use Linux cause Mac sucks even worse. So as I miss that game (Eur. Barb.) and consider it the most realistic RTS to date, I'd like to know if there are any free and open source alternatives to it because ever since I'm under linux, I became addicted to FOSS so I also turned my back on paying (even kickstarters) for closed source, pay to play games. I have found a clone/alternative for everyone of the best games like Minecraft, CSS, Natural Selection, TA/SupCom etc... It's kind of the last one I need. The Spring engine is amazing for example, is there another open source project of the source in current development? Or would Spring itself be enough (it certainly looks capable) to make it? • Website: Requested filename being rewritten

  I have been unable to find an answer via search. I have a website (I do not administer the servers) where the server will serve a different file than the one requested. I first noticed this when using a filename of the following form: _foo.php (single underscore) If I request foo.php (does not exist), the server returns _foo.php. By "returns" I mean that the server decides I meant _foo.php, processes the php file, and serves the output. If I request afoo.php, zfoo.php, or even __foo.php (two underscores) (these files do not exist) the server returns _foo.php. If I request aafoo.php, the server returns 404. To sum up: the server seems to be doing a partial filename match. My question is: what is happening and is this accepted behavior for a web server (or standard behavior of a common mod/package/etc)?

  I'm working on getting a Wordpress MU install running on my VPS. I enabled the 'simple-vhost' mod and can access the site fine. The problem is I can only get to it from domain.com. If I try www.domain.com I get shown the lighthttpd page? I'd like to get everything pointing to one place. • Importing tab delimited file into array in Visual Basic 2013 [migrated]

  I am needing to import a tab delimited text file that has 11 columns and an unknown number of rows (always minimum 3 rows). I would like to import this text file as an array and be able to call data from it as needed, throughout my project. And then, to make things more difficult, I need to replace items in the array, and even add more rows to it as the project goes on (all at runtime). Hopefully someone can suggest code corrections or useful methods. I'm hoping to use something like the array style sMyStrings(3,2), which I believe would be the easiest way to control my data. Any help is gladly appreciated, and worthy of a slab of beer. • My site not directing links correctly.

  I have a site at http://badassmonkeys.com/ and when i click any of the links it does not direct it to the actual page but still pulls up the link. For some reason it works perfectly on linux cpanel and actually loads the pages, but on windows in apache, or in IIS even with a rewrite mod for it, it just doesnt work. The links dont go correctly. Is it a php.ini setting? This is my htaccess file if curious, but it works perfect in linux, but not on windows.... • Algorithmic problem - quickly finding all #'s where value %x is some given value

  Problem I'm trying to solve, apologies in advance for the length: Given a large number of stored records, each with a unique (String) field S. I'd like to be able to find through an indexed query all records where Hash(S) % N == K for any arbitrary N, K (e.g. given a million strings, find all strings where HashCode(s) % 17 = 5. Is there some way of memoizing this so that we can quickly answer any question of this form without doing the % on every value? The motivation for this is a system of N distributed nodes, where each record has to be assigned to at least one node. The nodes are numbered 0 - (K-1) , and each node has to load up all of the records that match it's number: If we have 3 nodes Node 0 loads all records where Hash % 3 ==0 Node 1 loads all records where Hash % 3 ==1 Node 2 loads all records where Hash % 3 ==2 adding a 4th node, obviously all the assignments have to be recomputed - Node 0 loads all records where Hash % 4 ==0 ... etc I'd like to easily find these records through an indexed query without having to compute the mod individually. The best I've been able to come up with so far: If we take the prime factors of N (p1 * p2 * ... ) if N % M == I then p % M == I % p for all of N's prime factors e.g. 10 nodes : N % 10 == 6 then N % 2 = 0 == 6 %2 N % 5 = 1 == 6 %5 so storing an array of the "%" of N for the first "reasonable" number of primes for my data set should be helpful. For example in the above example we store the hash and the primes HASH PRIMES (array of %2, %3, %5, %7, ... ]) 16 [0 1 1 2 .. ] so looking for N%10 == 6 is equivalent to looking for all values where array[1]==1 and array[2] == 1. However, this breaks at the first prime larger than the highest number I'm storing in the factor table. Is there a better way?

• USB Ports In Wrong Mode, How To Use usbmodeswitch?

  I haven't had access to my USB ports as media devices for a couple days now. I've been reading and researching everything I can find but I can't find a good guide for usbmodeswtich or usbms that I can decipher. The USB's are fine for power, but won't support my android phone as a media device, which is killing me because I use adb everyday, and won't support my plug and play mouse any longer. Not sure what caused the switch, though I think it may be related to the suspend issue I've read about, but the solutions in those threads I read also didn't work. Below is my system information and details. • Ubuntu 10.04 hung on unattended apt-get upgrade?

  I'm looking into why our ubuntu web server hung this morning and see that there was some package upgrades a few hours prior to the problem. I was able to ssh into the system and get a snapshot from top: top - 08:13:54 up 210 days, 8:25, 2 users, load average: 433.30, 422.40, 375.70 Tasks: 1192 total, 381 running, 810 sleeping, 0 stopped, 1 zombie Cpu(s): 0.5%us, 6.1%sy, 0.0%ni, 93.4%id, 0.0%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.0%si, 0.0%st Mem: 49549772k total, 48518392k used, 1031380k free, 960152k buffers Swap: 11595768k total, 279368k used, 11316400k free, 39355664k cached This is a 16 processor system, so I would typically expect a load in the low teens. I tried to restart apache, which didn't work, and subsequently had to do a hard reboot to get it working again (which it is). One thing I found was that the server did an unattended package update. Is it possible that upgrading php or curl (which our web sites use) might have caused apache to stop responding? • Passenger package not found after adding phusion repo Ubuntu 12.04

  I'm trying to install the official Passenger (and Nginx) packages from Phusion on an Ubuntu 12.04.3 server. I have the following in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/passenger: deb https://oss-binaries.phusionpassenger.com/apt/passenger precise main Even after running apt-get update there is no passenger package found by apt. I did verify that the package info appears in /var/lib/apt/lists/oss-binaries.phusionpassenger.com_apt_passenger_dists_precise_main_binary-amd64_Packages but at this point I'm at a loss as to why the package isn't available via apt-get. There are some packages (libapache2-mod-passenger, passenger-docs) that are available. These packages seem to also exist in universe, but apt-cache show lists both locations.

  I recently purchases a bunch of R710's from Dell. I installed VMWare ESX on them. The installation process finishes without a problem; however once ESX boots the following error displays at the botton with red letters: 00:00:02:21.493 cpu11:4119) mod:2971: Initialization for vmfs2 failed with -1 I installed on two different servers and the same error appears. The curious thing is that if I install ESXi 3.5 or 4 there is not problem. What does this problem mean, and how can I resolve it?

• Windows Boot disc to save files?

  Somehow after updating my legit windows 7 OS with no pirated or mod software on my PC i was welcome to a black screen. I popped in my ghost disc and copied the files i need to an external HD. IIRC windows 7 disc can do that too. Problem with the way i did it on ghost was it excepted me to select 1 file (an HD disc image) so i couldnt select multiple folders to move. Also when i did move i had no idea if it finished or how long it would take. My linux live cd couldnt access the HD. Anyways, is there a disc i can use to easily copy files from my laptop to my external HD? I think ghost, windows 7 and windows server all allow me but is there one that is better suited to copy files?

• Is it possible to generate Events and Hooks in Lua for any game without built-in support?

  Does a game have to have built-in functions to accept and run lua scripts, or can I design Events and Hooks using Lua on any game I please, akin to the days where C code could be used to hook into the WinAPI using dlls? The reason I ask is, I am trying to create a background application that will perform events and hooks on a particular game that does not currently support lua in-game. Brief examples: Events: - An action executed by the PLAYER is detected. For instance, hitting the Q key will normally make my character use an ability, but with my Lua script running in the background, will cause a sound to play on my computer (or something). Hooks: - An action within the GAME is detected. For instance, the game spawns an enemy every minute. When an enemy spawns, the script will detect this and perform an action, for instance playing a sound locally on the computer. I would like to do both, but I know for games like Garry's Mod, the game already has built-in support for running lua scripts. Is there a way to do either events OR hooks using lua similarly to how C/C++ can connect to a game using WinAPI dlls?

  I have very old DOS Application (CadSoft Eagle - PCB Designer) and I want to work with it on my workstation with Windows 7. Then I install Windows 98 and that software into VmWare Player. But that software has serious problem with redrawing screen. It's very slow in comparison with my Intel Celeron 333MHz with Windows 98. I have same problem if I try to use DOSBox on Windows XP (same Celeron 333MHz). I also trying run this application directly on Windows XP (same Celeron 333MHz) with compatibility mod set to "Windows 98", but I get "(0Dh): General Protection Fault". Can someone give me good advice how I solve that?

I also trying run this application directly on Windows XP with compatibility mod set to "Windows 98", but I get "(0Dh): General Protection Fault". Can someone give me good advice how I solve that?

• How to secure Apache for shared hosting environment? (chrooting, avoid symlinking...)

  I'm having problems dealing with Apache configuration: the problem is that I want to limit each user to his own docroot (so, a chroot() would be what I'm looking for), but: Mod_chroot works only globally and not for each virtualhost: i have the users in a path like the following one /home/vhosts/xxxxx/domains/domain.tld/public_html (xxxxx is the user), and can't solve the problem chrooting /home/vhosts, because the users would still be allowed to see each other. Using apache-mod-itk would slow down the websites too much, and I'm not sure if it would solve anything Without using any of the previous two, I think the only thing left is avoiding symlinking, not allowing the users to link to something that doesn't belong to them. So, I think I'm going to follow the third point but... how to efficiently avoid symlinking while still keeping mod_rewrite working?! The php has already been chrooted with php-fpm, so my only concern is about Apache itself.

• RocketRaid gives me stuttering computer

  I have a SANS DIGITAL TowerRAID TR8M-BP (with the RocketRaid 622 raid device) with 5 x SAMSUNG Spinpoint F4 HD204UI 2TB 5400 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s harddrives in a raid 5. It connects via 2-esata cables. My drivers are up to date. When I'm writing data to the drives my computer stutters (meaning freezes for a 1/2 second every 2 seconds or so). My screen freezes, my music goes into a loop, its really annoying. I get the same thing in windows 7 as I do in linux. The only difference is it seems to happen less in linux, but occassionally linux will crash (I've never had linux crash for any other reason, so I'm assuming they have poor linux drivers and kernal mod). Any tips for how to deal with this? Thanks
