  • Issue with PHP and osx 10.7 - runs via command line but not in browser

    I recently removed MAMP as I wanted to have more control over my machine and wanted to make use of PHP5.4 I installed using the script located here I cannot now not even get my default PHP that is built in to osx to work. I am running this script with a simple In a document in my ~/Sites directory. I am really at a loss as to why this will not work. I have php5 installed in my /usr/local directory via the link provided above and it seems like the main php is installed in /usr/bin Any and all insight on how to debug this would be greatly appreciated.

  • Logging into Local Statusnet instance on Apache causes browser to download a file

    I've installed statusnet 0.9.1 on a Windows Server via the WAMP stack and on the whole it seems to be fine. However, when logging in using IE7 or Chrome the browers invoke a file download, i.e. the File Download dialog is displayed.   • Getting PHP to work with apache to run .php files through browser

    I have VPS running Debian 5.0 (I think) and I would like to get it to run PHP files. I was told it needed to be configured with Apache. I tried entering the command apt-get install apache2 php5 libapache2-mod-php5. But there was no change. How can I fix this?

  • Mercurial browser on Windows 2003 takes several refreshes before displaying repositories

    When attempt to browse my Mercurial repositories it usually takes several refreshes before the repository list is displayed. The configuration is as follows: Windows Server 2003 (Dedicated machine hosted by http://www.server4you.com/. Site has anonymous password protection with self-signed SSL. Mercurial 1.5.3 Python 2.6.5 Python for Windows 32 extensions 214 py2.6 isapi-wsgi 0.4.2 The repositories are being served via ISAPI using the standard hgwebdir_wspi.py file (copy to follow). Other problems with the repository server: Before doing a clone/push/etc I have to browse the repositories first otherwise hg on my local machine can not locate the site. I have one a repository with a large changeset that after a minute or so throw error "abort: error: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host". Will be asking another question for this problem.   • Apache 2.4 and PHP 5.4 getting connection reset errors in the browser

    In the weekend I upgraded my development web server to Apache 2.4 and PHP 5.4. In my web application which was previously working great on Apache 2.2 and PHP 5.3 it now starts getting these messages saying the "connection was reset" in Firefox. See screenshot. I am connecting to the linux machine via local LAN. I'm assuming it might be something to do with the new version of Apache or PHP, or the new LAMP stack which I downloaded from BitNami? It would seem to happen every 5-10 requests and throw this error, perhaps more likely to trigger it is if I send a POST request from a page. Is it timing out the script or something? These are just basic dynamic pages I'm loading and they worked perfectly in Apache 2.2 and PHP5.3. Here are my httpd.conf and PHP.ini if that has any clues. Any ideas? Any help much appreciated.

  • Browser pollution / Pop Up request

    From time to time, when I browse the internet , after entering a site's URL , I get a warning message that a pop up has been blocked , then a question mark and a set of numbers appends itself after the URL. It doesn't matter what site I want to navigate to, it can be a site I have developed, a well know site like drupal.org for instance. Here's what happens: enter url: example.com warning: pop up blocked url change to: example.com/?1347628900 After checking the pop up ( which of course turns out to be an unwanted ad ), i deducted that the request and the pop up were linked. This has never happened to me before, I'm not sure how this got started, how can I get rid of this? Clearing the cache , cookies etc... doesn't solve the issue. I'm using a Macbook Pro OS10.6.7 , Chrome 13.0.782.24 beta. Thanks in advance for any tips!

  • Win-XP Browsers Hang on page load - (waiting for...)

    Hello, I’m having problems with my browsers hanging on loading pages on my desktop machine. I’m using Windows XP Pro with SP3 and fully updated except for IE 8. All three of my browsers, IE 7, Chrome and Firefox are having the same problems. Pages are not being loaded and are hanging on “waiting for …”. The browsers are waiting for the page being loaded or ad servers. Sometimes a page will load but the loading graphic continues to be displayed as if the page were still loading when the page appears to be fully loaded. The problem is bad enough that I can’t really use any of my browsers. I can eventually get most pages to load by stopping and restarting the page load. I have DSL modem with a wireless router and I have been able to eliminate the modem and router from being the source of my problem. My laptop doesn’t have any problems even when hardwired to the router and with the wireless connection disabled. I deleted the NIC and let XP re-install. Also tried a different network cable. Tried the same router port used in the laptop test. One clue that may be important is that I can’t connect to my router using the desktop machine…the page hangs while trying to connect. I can ping the router and I can quickly connect to the router using the laptop. I also can’t use the Windows update process – the page never fully loads. The problem affects other user accounts and even happens in safe mode. I am convinced the problem is with part of the O/S…some layer able to affect all of the browsers. The purpose of this post is to see if anyone has some ideas before I do a XP repair. I have done quite a bit of trouble-shooting: Ran a full anti-virus scan with AVG – no problems. Ran full scans with Spybot, MalwareBytes and Sophos anti-rootkit – no problems. Ran Chkdsk with both options checked. Ran Disk Clean up Defragged RE-installed IE7 Cleared all the browser caches Ran Ccleaner (registry tool) Ran HijackThis – nothing unusual (problem happens in safe mode too) Ran Process Explorer – no unusual processes Used System Restore and fell back several days – no change in the problem Booted to last known good configuration – no change in the problem Ran MicrosoftFixit50199.msi – no change in the problem Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated…I’m not looking forward to doing a repair on XP.     I am using firefox 3.6.22. I have several Gmail accounts. In the past, when I would go to the Gmail login, it would remember all my logins. All I would need to do would be to enter first letter and it would pick up the rest. Now it has stopped doing this. I can still type the whole login (if I remember it) and the password and get in. Why did it lose the ability to remember, and how do I get it back?

    I'm remotely investigating issue with my friend's WIN XP computer. The browsers (Chrome and IE) won't show any pages but message with err_connection_reset in details. I've tried to perform "telnet google.com 80" and send there "HEAD / HTTP/1.0" from console and everything went fine, but browsers refused to give me anything. I've checked for presence of firewalls and proxy servers in the settings, but nothing seems to be there. What else to check?

  • Colors less saturated in Snow Leopard Finder, Preview & Safari than in Chrome -- why?

    If I look at the picture here in Safari, Preview or the finder, the shades of blue are significantly different than if I look at the picture in Google Chrome (they are less saturated than in Chrome). Since I am a photographer and need to prepare pictures for publication online, I need to know what a jpeg should really look like, in order to color-correct it. I have an excellent Eizo monitor that is correctly calibrated. If I open the same image in Photoshop CS3, I get the Chrome colors if I use Monitor RGB under view proof setup, and I get the Safari colors if I use Macintosh RGB. Can anyone explain the difference between these two settings, and the difference between Safari and Chrome? Which colors are correct? Photos that I prepared under Windows (during the past five years) now seem washed out in the Apple Finder and Preview, even though I had correctly prepared them. Is there a setting on the Macintosh for color calibration, besides the monitor calibration control panel?

Picasa is pretty good for browsing through them and watching them, but it doesn't use my video card for rendering the videos. My CPU gets pegged at max usage, and full screen barely works. Windows Media Player or Quicktime works fine. Is there another application (like Picasa) that can be used for browsing through movies that both uses my video card and shows thumbnails of all the movies in my collection? I'd rather have something nicer than Windows Explorer. (The movies are h.264 AAC 1280x720.)

    I've recently upgraded from XP Pro to Windows7 Pro - In XP Pro (and previous OS versions) you could move Thumbnails around in a window and they would snap/shuffle up/re-order themselves and be viewable as a slide show - it was unbelievably useful - I used it EVERY day, Windows 7 doesn't do this? Is there some setting I can change or is it just not there anymore? I use it for organising photo libraries for archiving - I haven't found any other way of doing this that suits my work. Does anyone know a way to get this feature back? Thanks

    The question says it all. Inside of the file explorer under Windows XP, I lost all menu items from the top, as well as the toolbars. And right-clicking only gives me the file/directory context menu, nothing to restore the toolbar or the menu. Help. I don't use Windows so much (I much prefer linux), so I don't know all the latest tricks and hacks. Merci :-)

  • How to install wordpress without a web browser

    What I am trying to do is to automate wordpress website creation for the company I am working on. We have lots of information in our database for our customers and we want to create a wordpress website for each customer. The process works great and we have no trouble with the creation of websites/transfer of data or anything like that. The problem we do have is when we buy a new domain (http://www.newdomain.com) our process breaks (we call a stored procedure which installs all the data after the URL is called to install wordpress) if the domain takes more than 15min to resolve. We have tried doing looping (where the process checks to see if the domain resolves and keeps trying - but eventually if fails). So what we are looking for is to see if there is a way to install an URL without actually having the domain resolve yet. I have seen where possibilities where you can change the wp-config file but this doesn't work since we have more than one domain and it changes the source URL for all the domains. What we really need is just a way for us to manually start the install script through a call either through a database or some other way that doesn't check to see if the domain is resolved or pointing at the server or not. Thank for any suggestions. EDIT: All we do to install wordpress is call this URL: http://"newdomain".com/wp-admin/install.php?step=2 - if you change settings in the backend calling this URL will install wordpress without having to go through the wp-admin/install.php form
