  • pppd disconnects from 3G, doesn't reconnect, w/ persist set

    I am trying to configure pppd to connect to a 3G network (Sprint, in this case) and then stay connected, reconnecting automatically if the remote connection is terminated. I have enabled the persist option. My configuration file is as follows: hide-password noauth connect "/usr/sbin/chat -v -f /etc/chatscripts/cellular" debug /dev/cell 921600 defaultroute noipdefault user " " persist maxfail 0 lcp-echo-failure 10 lcp-echo-interval 60 holdoff 5 However, when the peer disconnects the connection, pppd often waits a long time (substantially more than my holdoff) to reconnect the modem -- if it ever reconnects at all! I had a friend monitoring the server so I'm not certain that this wasn't a manual reconnection. Either way, it either took almost an hour to reconnect or never reconnected. Shouldn't persist + holdoff 5 cause this to automatically reconnect after 5 seconds of the link terminating?

    I'm trying to set up a JCarousel instance witht the wrap set to circular, however, I noticed an issue where I "inspect element" in Chrome, duplicate elements are added to the html when the slides repeat (it can be viewed on the official example page). http://sorgalla.com/projects/jcarousel/examples/static_circular.html I know this is an open bug on GitHub.     I've read this question to figure out how to set float:none on an element which already has float:right set with class. I used element.style.cssFloat = "none", but this just added a new style property cssFloat which didn't over-ride the existing float:right. I've now fixed it using the adding/removing classes method. But is there a way of over-riding existing float rules in ie without having to use classes?

    I am trying to customize the way image folders appear in Win7 explorer, but I can't seem to get it under control. Is there a way to force it to always pick the first image in the folder as the preview image? Explorer has perfectly fine natural sort order. I don't understand why it messes it up by picking semi-random images. Thanks!

  • How to set CHKDSK for drive C: in Windows 7

    I recently got a 0xc000007b error whenever I tried to run some application software. I found that CHKDSK for C drive might be a solution. When I tried to do it from C drive properties, it said the drive was in use and asked to schedule CHKDSK at the next reboot. I clicked OK. When I restart, I experience a BSOD. I waited for 10 minutes but still nothing happens. So I forced a shutdown (laptop) and again booted up the computer and got a BSOD for just 5 or 10 seconds and system boots and works with no problem. I repeated all these steps four or four times and yet with the same results. Is there any other way other than CHKDSK to solve the 0xc000007b error? If not, why is CHKDSK not working at boot up? Can I force CHKDSK on drive C: to perform while the system is on? Platform: Windows 7 64-bit.

    here is my problem which in my system. my system allow user to add event, which include date, time, places. In the other hand, user are allow to choose the "Event sharing to" some of other user. So i successful to created and share to other user, when the user login which are being choose to share with the event, he is able to view for that particular event. But the problem is, when user add the event, he must choose for his own name also in the select box. If not he will be unable to read the event that he had created.   • Access router set up as a bridge behind another router

    I have a problem my ISP is refusing to help me with, even though they put up the whole system. Specifications: There's a Thomson TG784 router through which the internet comes in to the building, Behind that (for some reason) is a Juniper NetScreen 5XT - 105 Firewall/Router? which leads to an AMX nxa-enet24 switch that carries the connections all over the building and a series of Apple AirPorts for wifi. Problem: The first router (Thomson) is required for ipTV (by Elion). The tv or ipTV box has to be connected straight to the Thomson router. My service provider cannot see the Thomson router from their side, but see the Juniper, so we might think the Thomson has been configured as a bridge. I need a way to access the Thomson router and see it's configurations, because currently, when connecting a Samsung tv to that router (with elion app for ipTV viewing) or even a computer, it cannot access the internet and even if it could, it would update the Thomson router software, losing it's configurations which I need to preserve. I'm unable to find out the Thomson routers ip address to connect to it, and when directly conencting with a cat5 cable, it doesn't give me an ip address.     I have a folder structure similar to the one shown below these paragraphs. How do I change security on every 'Photos' folder without clicking through each individually in Windows Explorer? There are about 50 top level folders (Bob, Jim, Eva, etc, etc) which have the same layout of folders inside. I am keen for any suggestions, either scripting or GUI. I am on Windows Server 2003.   • Set Users as chrooted for sftp, but allow user to login in SSH

    I have setup a ssh server on debian 7, to use sftp connection. I chrooted some user, with this config: Match Group sftpusers ChrootDirectory /sftp/%u ForceCommand internal-sftp But if i want login with one of this chrooted users in ssh console, they get logged, but autoclose the connection.   • Can't access DD-WRT set in DHCP forwarder

    This might sound amazingly stupid but I have a DD-WRT (micro) router that I placed in my network to act as a switch and as a WAP while relying on my cable modem to be the DHCP server. In my attempts to get the configuration right I put the router into DHCP forwarder which then made everything work correctly. The problem is now I can't seem to connect to the router in any fashion to add mac addresses to the WAP access list. Is there something I'm missing or do I need to try a hard reset on it and reconfigure everything?

I have a server situation (Apache 2.2.3 CentOS PHP5.1.6) where I can't use .htaccess for performance reasons, but can use httpd.conf. The admin says that mod_rewrite is enabled, but AllowOverride is not, and I can't change those settings. And I need to restrict the permalinks to just the "blog" directory.     I have been battling with .htaccess rules to get my SSL setup working right for the past few days.I get a requested URL not found error whenever I try access any requests that does not do through the index controller. For example this URL would work fine if I enter the it manually https://www.example.com/index.php/auth/register However my application has been built in such a way that the url should be this https://www.example.com/auth/register and that gives the requested URL not found error My other URLs such as https://www.example.com/index/faq https://www.example.com/index/blog https://www.example.com/index/terms work just fine. However, whenever the computer restarts it sets the input & output to the 'internal microphone' and the 'built in output'. I'd like to default to the other soundcard. How can I do this? E.g., when one simply connects to that AP (well, there should be DHCP or something for that) and goes to serverfault.com, all the traffic goes through that SOCKS proxy. The issue I'm trying to solve is how to set a property on a bean based on a radio button before I update it in the database. Is the Form Helper http://www.grails.org/plugin/form-helper plugin the way to go?
