• Please help to find a solution for two way, real-time synchronization on Centos 5.5 64Bit

  I am in need of a real time, two way synchronization software for Centos 5.5 / 64Bit. Here's little explanation: It needs to be able to perform: Two way synchronization. It must be realtime. By realtime means it can be almost realtime, i.e. a delay of 1 second for example is fine. And the folders are on the same server. I am currently using GlusterFS across two webservers. However, it has extremely poor small file read performance and it's slowing down my website. There's nothing more that can be done to improve this, I have already tested many configurations. As a solution, I was going to mount a RAM drive (tmpfs) that mirrors the GlusterFS web files but get the webserver to use the RAM drive. The issue is that I need two way realtime mirroring or replication between glusterfs and the RAM drive. I need this is as Apache writes files as wells. As I said, realtime two way synchronization across two folders. Which are in fact 2 different mounts points. The RAM (tmpfs) mount poing and the GlusterFS mount point. I already know about: Rsync - Which is one way Unison - Which is not realtime Please suggest me any solution free or paid. Thanks in advance

  My static site www.example.com is translated in different languages and files are organized in this hierarchy: / /de index.html seite-1.html /en index.html page-1.html /it index.html pagina-1.html The root contains no files, just one subdirectory for each language the site is translated in, while subdirectories contain pages translated (both content and file name are) in the language corresponding to subdirectory name, de, en, it, etc. The question is: how to configure mod_rewrite so that when a client visits www.example.com it is taken to the correct version of the site, falling back to english version if the required locale is not supported (i.e. Accept-Language header doesn't exist or specifies a language for which the site is not available, e.g. fr)?   I just recently installed eaccelerator and switched php to dso everything was fine on server Server load was about 1-2 (4 cpus) and after some time server got overloaded (Server load increased to 250) and server stopped. In suphp mode server was overloading by traffic so i decided to switch it to eaccelerator and now i am lost... Can someone explain that?

• Need help toubleshooting PC

  I have had problems since my dog pee'd on my computer. Problem: loads windows fine, at random intervals from 5 minutes to 30 minutes it restarts itself. There is nothing in the event log such as errors, no BSOD, just cold restart. after restarting - sometimes- it POST's and restarts itself at the end of POST. It will do this many times and then finally load windows. The cycle then begins again, it will restart eventually. What I have done: I thought it was HDD at first, since this is the only part of the computer which actually got wet with any fluid ( the case is off the PC and the dog pee'd down the front where the HDD is located). Seatool, the seagate HDD tool, found errors when I ran it inside windows, so I ran it in DOS mode from boo-table USB and ran it. It found the same number of errors and fixed them all. I ran the scan again and it says "Good". I loaded windows and ran the scan and it also said "Good there. So the HDD appears to be fine but the problem persists, random restarts. What else could this be? I have taken the computer apart and cleaned everything and also taken the PSU apart and cleaned it thoroughly. The problem still persists, what should my next steps be?

  I Have a VPS.And i on my vps installed vmware workstation version 9.now i have 3 valid ip's: XXX.152.193.66 XXX.152.193.101 XXX.152.193.103 Gateway: XXX.152.193.65 now tow ip's set in host and i want to 1 ip set on vm. network vm is bridge and set ip on vm but this ip from out of internal network not ping and in vm not ping to gateway. What can I do to solve this problem? my ip is unassigned and only set on vm and use bridge network mode.and gw,mask,dns is set.but not ping. i set this ip on host and without problems is worked, But I do not know why on vm not worked. my host OS Is Windows Server 2003 and firewall is off and RRAs(routing and remote access) For VPN service is Enable. Do not host or virtual machines to create a IP route?

• Dead Linux server - need help and options

  All, I have a Dell PE 1950 w/ 2 SATA drives in a software RAID1. OS is CentOS 5.5 (2.6.18.x). Starting this afternoon we received HW errors (something on the bus is bad, E171F) and the machine became unresponsive. We hard booted and it came back up for about 5 hours but then it happened again. I'm trying to figure out our options. Unfortunately we do not have similar hardware but I have a small desktop that I can use. I was contemplating putting one of the drives into the desktop and then starting it up. My goal was to then P2V it using Vmware converter but apparently the free v5.x doesn't support hot cloning/converting on a RAID volume, only the Enterprise 4.x version of Converter does. My questions are: 1.) Is putting a single drive out of a RAID1 pair into another piece of HW is safe? Based on my research and understanding it appears to be but would like confirmation. 2.) Is there any work around to the Vmware Converter not supporting RAID volumes during a hot clone/convert session? 3.) Are there other options I'm overlooking? • DNS Help: Move domain, not mailserver

  I'm in the middle of launching a new website for an already-in-use domain. The domain has a complicated email system so we'd like to move that over to the new server a bit later on. Currently the domain DNS is managed by the current webhost. I plan on moving the DNS management back to Network Solutions, then point the A record to the new website's IP. However, currently the DNS has the MX record the same as the A record. When NetworkSolutions is managing the DNS, and I point the A record to the new IP, then the MX record can't be the A record.. Right now: A Record mydomain.com points to IP address 198.198.198.198 MX record mydomain.com points to IP address 198.198.198.198 What I want: A Record mydomain.com points to IP address of new server MX record somehow points to current existing mailserver Does this even make sense?

  I have confused myself following a VLSM tutorial and need to get my understanding confirmed, would this be the correct format, or am i away off again 172.31.0.0 VLSM this network address for as many subnetworks as possible, with no more than 14 hosts in each subnetwork. Show the subnet mask used. As the ip address is class b and contains 16 bits in the network portion, this means that we can have 2^16 = 65536 possible networks, to give each of these networks a maximum of 14 hosts we would use the subnet prefix \28 for each subnet. I am working with an Ubuntu server and I type in grep 'bash' *.sh BUT fgrep 'bash' *.sh works like a champ. which grep and which fgrep both point to their respective executables in /bin. I am perplexed as to what I am doing wrong. EXAMPLE output: $ grep -F 'grounding' repl.clj Usage: grep [OPTION]... PATTERN [FILE]... Search for PATTERN in each FILE or standard input. PATTERN is, by default, a basic regular expression (BRE). Example: grep -i 'hello world' menu.h main.c $ fgrep 'grounding' repl.clj (p/concepts-for-grounding-term imp1 "PERSON" "summary") See? grep is failing but fgrep is working fine. That is why I am perplexed.

• Cisco NAC: help with enabling FTP or moving update files

  Hi, So this is a LINUX question, and a Cisco NAC question. I'm trying to update our server from 4.1 to 4.7, and i need to move some tarball files to the NAC. the NAC Appliance runs some strange stripped down version of Fedora Core 4 copying the upgrade: The instructions say to FTP the file to the NAC appliance, however whenever i use WinSCP with root credentials, i get a notice informing me the connection was actively refused. I can't for the life of me find any .conf files that sound like winners, so I don't know how to change the settings, however the ftp command does seem to work. what exactly should I do here?

  I'm trying it on virtual box and installed Acronis 2010. The backup was successful but when I checked on the backup which is on my flash drive. Here's my problem: Ive installed firefox before the backup, but the program files folder in the flash drive has no folder called firefox. How do I restore the the 2 partitions using the backup. What I did was to: Go to tools & utilities in Acronis then chose clone disk. Selected the source and destination(flash drive). Then I restart, the backup began. First with the first partition which has xp installed and the 2nd was vista lite. What do I do to restore it: I only got these folders on the root of the flash drive: Documents and settings Program files Windows BOOTSECT.BAK

  I have been battling with my Microsoft Visual C# 2010 Express for a while now. When I undo things some times it works fine and other times it replaces lines of code I didn't touch with lines I deleted. It seems to pick targets at random and most of the time I can easily repair what it has done or just not save the changes. This problem is starting to drive me crazy. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening to me? When I was using Microsoft Visual 2012 this never happen. I have tried to search this problem with no luck so far.

I mean if i call Where<>() operator on IEnumerable<>, the operator that will be called will be defined in Enumerable class and if it's called on IQueryable<>, the one defined in Queryable class will be called. Consider the operator Reverse, defined in the Enumerable class. If i want to call it on Iqueryable<> then I must use the AsEnumerable<>() operator to first convert it into IEnumerable<>. db.Countries.OrderBy(cntry=>cntry.CountryName).AsEnumerable().Reverse() But the Reverse operator got to have all records at the same time so that it can reverse them. In the above code do all the records get loaded in memory first and then the Reverse() operator is reversing it ?
