  I often find myself with a list of disconnected Linq2Sql objects or keys that I need to re-select from a Linq2Sql data-context to update or delete in the database. If this were SQL, I would use IN in the SQL WHERE clause, but I am stuck with what to do in Linq2Sql. Basically, if the data is empty, I want it to do nothing!

  I'm processing, let's say a list of "Document" objects. Before I record the processing of the document successful I first want to check a couple of things. Let's say, the file referring to the document should be present and something in the document should be present. Just two simple checks for the example but think about 8 more checks before I have successfully processed my document. • Timer Service in ejb 3.1 - schedule calling timeout problem

  Hi Guys, I have created simple example with @Singleton, @Schedule and @Timeout annotations to try if they would solve my problem. The scenario is this: EJB calls 'check' function every 5 secconds, and if certain conditions are met it will create single action timer that would invoke some long running process in asynchronous fashion. (it's sort of queue implementation type of thing). It then continues to check, but as long as long running process is there it won't start another one.   Background: I have a asp.net webapplication project that should contain a public and a member area. Now I want to implement a SSL decription to secure communication between the client and the server. (In the university we have a unsecured wireless network and you can use a wlan sniffer to read username/password. I do not want to have this security problem for my application, so I thought of a ssl decription) The application is running on a IIS 7.5. It it possible to have one webapp that has unsecured pages (like the public area) and a secured area (like the member area, which requires a login)? If yes, how can I relealise the communication between these too areas? Example: My webapp is hosted on http://foo.abc. I have pages like http://foo.abc/default.aspx and http://foo.abc/foo.aspx. In the same project is page like /member/default.aspx which is protected by a login on the page http://foo.abc/login.aspx. So I would need to implement SSL for the page /login.aspx and all pages in /member/ How can I do that? I just found out how to create SSL certificates in IIS 7.5 and how to add such a binding to a webapp. How how can I tell my webapp which page should be called with https and not with http. What is the best practise there?

The ControlRegistration-Class will cycle through the list of registered controls and check if a control has a registered event and then attach the eventhandler, something like: ...   Is it possible to change the font color for a row based on a value in one of the columns? My table has a column that displays a status. The value of the column is going to either be Failed or Success. If it is Success I would like for that rows font be green. If the status equals Failed, I want that rows font be red. Is this possible, if so where would I put the logic. Update the value of an individual property of the instanceOfMyClass } I'd like to be able to call UpdateProperty from a Controller like this: UpdateProperty(instanceOfMyClass, valueToUpdate, indexOfTheProperty); Honestly, I do not know how to involve the instanceOfMyClass in the game as GetProperty only plays with myClass. Since I saw that I can use Name, PropertyType, ... to get information on the property. So, I've tried also GetPropertyOfMyClass()[index].SetValue(...), but I was lost in the arguments of its constructor, so I abandoned. What I want is to be able to update the value of a property in my collection just by using the index. Thanks for helping

  I'm looking at boost::lambda as a way to to make a generic algorithm that can work with any "getter" method of any class. The algorithm is used to detect duplicate values of a property, and I would like for it to work for any property of any class. In C#, I would do something like this: class Dummy { public String GetId() ... public String GetName() ... } IEnumerable<String> FindNonUniqueValues<ClassT> (Func<ClassT,String> propertyGetter) { ... } Example use of the method: var duplicateIds = FindNonUniqueValues<Dummy>(d => d.GetId()); var duplicateNames = FindNonUniqueValues<Dummy>(d => d.GetName()); I can get the for "any class" part to work, using either interfaces or template methods, but have not found yet how to make the "for any method" part work. Is there a way to do something similar to the "d = d.GetId()" lambda in C++ (either with or without Boost)? Alternative, more C++ian solutions to make the algorithm generic are welcome too. I'm using C++/CLI with VS2008, so I can't use C++0x lambdas.

• Png image processing in .NET.

  I have the following task. Take a base image and overlay on it another one. The base image is 8b png as well as overlay. Here are the base (left) and overlay (right) images. Here is a result and how it must look. The picture in the left is a screenshot when one picture is on top of another (html and positioning) and the second is the result of programmatic merging. As you can see in the screenshot the borders of the text is darker. Say, if the {module} is product and {docId} is 2, then in the console I found: DispatcherServlet with name 'xxx' processing POST request for [/xxx/product/get/2] Rendering view [org.springframework.web.servlet.view.JstlView: name 'product/get/2'; URL [/WEB-INF/views/jsp/product/get/2.jsp]] in DispatcherServlet with name 'xxx' How can that be happened? • Passing IDisposable objects through constructor chains

  I've got a small hierarchy of objects that in general gets constructed from data in a Stream, but for some particular subclasses, can be synthesized from a simpler argument list. In chaining the constructors from the subclasses, I'm running into an issue with ensuring the disposal of the synthesized stream that the base class constructor needs. Its not escaped me that the use of IDisposable objects this way is possibly just dirty pool (plz advise?) for reasons I've not considered, but, this issue aside, it seems fairly straightforward (and good encapsulation). Is there a better way to do this? Preemptive strikes: yes, the properties calculated in the Node constructor should be part of the base class, and should not be calculated by (or accessible in) the subclasses I won't require that a stream be passed into CompositeNode (its format should be irrelevant to the caller) The previous iteration had the value calculation in the base class as a separate protected method, which I then just called at the end of each subtype constructor, moved the body of GenerateRaw () into a using statement in the body of the CompositeNode constructor. But the repetition of requiring that call for each constructor and not being able to guarantee that it be run for every subtype ever (a Node is not a Node, semantically, without these properties initialized) gave me heebie-jeebies far worse than the (potential) resource leak here does.

  I have an app that is listening in background and when the user clicks "send" it displays a dialogue. • Why the composite component fails to parent controls?

  Hi, I created my own Component : TPage , which Contains Subcomponent TPaper (TPanel).
