  I am an ASP.NET developer and I really dont do such of database stuff. But for my open source project on Codeplex I am required to setup a database schema for the project. So reading from here and there I have managed to do the following. • How to Make URLs clickable inside of UITableViewCell ?

  I know how to use UIWebView and can invoke a WebView if it is associated with a specific button or UITableViewCell. What I am trying to achieve is to have a UITableViewCell with a chunk of text. That chunk of text might contain a URL. I want to make the URL into a clickable link and have that link open into a WebView. My thought so far has been that I need to detect a link and insert it as a UIButton within the cell... but I don't know if that is the right way to go about this. Any ideas or input would be much appreciated.

  Hi guys, I am trying to read in an Excel file using xlrd, and I am wondering if there is a way to ignore the cell formatting used in Excel file, and just import all data as text? When the DNS exposes two IPs for the DNS entry (of the WSDL), the Service tries to use only the first - resulting in a "Failed to access the WSDL at: http://some.url.com/someDocument?wsdl. It failed with: Connection refused: connect" exception. I've found an issue filed against JAX-WS, but with no resolution. this is the comment that describes my problem best. • SSMS Results to Grid - CRLF not preserved in copy/paste - any better techniques?

  When I have a result set in the grid like: SELECT 'line 1 line 2 line 3' or SELECT 'line 1' + CHAR(13) + CHAR(10) + 'line 2' + CHAR(13) + CHAR(10) + 'line 3' With embedded CRLF, the display in the grid appears to replace them with spaces (I guess so that they will display all the data). The problem is that if I am code-generating a script, I cannot simply cut and paste this. I have to convert the code to open a cursor and print the relevant columns so that I can copy and paste them from the text results. Is there any simpler workaround to preserve the CRLF in a copy/paste operation from the results grid? The reason that the grid is helpful is that I am currently generating a number of scripts for the same object in different columns - a bcp out in one column, an xml format file in another, a table create script in another, etc...

  how to restrict the page to be browsed in the other browser with the same urls with out logging asp.net & c#.net. i followed the following steps for example: i am logging in to a page developed in asp.net & c#.net. i am viewing a page.Let it be admin page. i am copying the url of the admin page. i am opening another browser window and pasting the url. i was able to see the same admin page in the other browser. the question is how to restrict the opening of admin page in other browser,if they try to open admin page in another browser while user is currently viewing the admin page then it should be redirected to the login page? how could this be accomplished? is there any thing could be done with "login" control tool of the .net frame work?

• C# streamreader, delimiter problem.

  What I have is a txt file that is huge, 60MB. I need to read each line and produce a file, split based on a delimiter. I'm having no issue reading the file or producing the file, my complication comes from the delimiter, it can't see the delimiter. • Missing templates after re-installing VS 2008

  I installed VS 2008 and I installed .NET 3.5 SP1 and I got all templates. Then, I had to uninstall VS 2008 (please don't ask why) without uninstalling .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 or anything else. After that, I re-installed VS 2008 back, then I open up VS 2008 and found that when I add a new item the Entity Framework template is not among the list anymore.   There used to be a site called Tipjoy that would let me put a small "donate" button on a webpage, and users could donate small amounts (like 25c) to me easily. I think it was a pretty neat idea, since I want to have a way for people to give me money, and I don't like advertisements, and I don't update regularly enough to sell subscriptions like bloggers. I just have some simple web services and open-source program and I want an easy way for people to drop me some change if they think they're useful. I've found out that Amazon used to have a similar service, but it's also been shut down. Is there any similar web service available today? If not, what's the closest thing to offer -- a Paypal link?

  Hi, I'm trying to control Windows Services that are installed in a remote computer. I'm using the ServiceController class. I have this: ServiceController svc = new ServiceController("MyWindowsService", "COMPUTER_NAME"); With this, I can get the status of the Windows Service like this: string status = svc.Status.ToString(); But I can't control the Windows Service (by doing svc.Start(); or svc.Stop();). I get the following exception: Cannot open Servicexxx service on computer 'COMPUTER_NAME' That's normal, I suppose there is something to do with access permissions. But how? I've looked into Google but didn't find what I was looking for. However I often read something related to impersonation, but I don't know what that means. NB: The local and remote computers are both running Win XP Pro. Thanks.

• Run Windows XP on a usb drive virtually on Windows XP?

  I am sick of not being able to run and install certain applications on my work computer due to admin restrictions (eg: Adobe AIR) . I have heard of smaller versions of Windows running on a usb thumb drive and have looked into it but can't find anything on running windows virtually from a usb drive. I would like to be able to login to this particular computer, insert my usb drive and then open up another version of windows installed on the thumb drive while still being able to use the windows I logged in on (literally be able to alt+tab between the main desktop and the virtual desktop from the usb drive). Is this even possible? For further clarification: The version of windows has to be Windows XP and there is no other option available for what I want to do. Looking forward to a response.

The farthest I've gotten is knowing it involves Win32 Hooking and that there's this open source project called EasyHook that's supposed to allow me to do this. I'd like to know how I can get the text from a textbox or some other data from a control in a third-party Win32 application. The text/data in a control is to be captured from the external application's running window the moment the user presses a button. I guess the question can be summed up as follows: How do you determine the event to hook to when the user clicks a certain button? How do you get the value displayed by a Win32 control at the time the button is clicked?

• IE browser doesn't close and file download popup needs focus

  Hii all , I am trying to to click on a link after it is active which again produces a popup ( file download) after clicking. Here i have 2 problems 1) I start the code and leave it .what the code does is -after long process -it waits for the link to be active .Once the link is active it clicks on the link and a download popups opens (if everything goes well) and then it hangs there ( showing yellow flashing in the task bar which mean i have to click on the explorer for it to process whatever is next ).every time i have to click on the IE whenever the download popup appears .Is there a way to handle this or am i doing some wrong ? 2) The next problem is even if i click on the IE .the IE doesn't get close even though i write ie.close . my code is below : ## if the link is active ie.link(:text,a).click_no_wait prompt_message = "Do you want to open or save this file?" window_title = "File Download" save_dialog =WIN32OLE.new("AutoItX3.Control") save_dialog.WinGetText(window_title) save_dialog_obtained =save_dialog.WinWaitActive(window_title) save_dialog.WinKill(window_title) # end #' #some more code -normal puts statements # ie.close ie is hanging up for some strange reason ..?

• sql exception when transferring project from usb to c:\

  I'm working on a C# windows program with Visual Studio 2008. Usually, I work from school, directly on my usb drive. But when I copy the folder on my hard drive at home, an sql exception is unhandled whenever I try to write to the database. it is unhandled at the conn.Open(); line. here's the exception unhandled Database 'L:\system\project\the_project\the_project\bin\Debug\PatientMonitoringDatabase.mdf' already exists. Choose a different database name. Cannot attach the file 'C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\system\project\the_project\the_project\bin\Debug\PatientMonitoringDatabase.mdf' as database 'PatientMonitoringDatabase'. it's weird, because my connection string says |DataDirectory|, so it should work on any drive... here's my connection string: string connStr = "Data Source=.\\SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory|\\PatientMonitoringDatabase.mdf; " + "Initial Catalog=PatientMonitoringDatabase; " + "Integrated Security=True";

  Do we have to explicitly manage database resources when using Spring Framework.. liking closing all open connections etc? I have read that Spring relieves developer from such boiler plate coding... This is to answer an error that I am getting in a Spring web app: org.springframework.jdbc.CannotGetJdbcConnectionException: Could not get JDBC Connection; nested exception is java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00020: maximum number of processes (150) exceeded The jdbcTemplate is configured in the xml file and the DAO implementation has reference to this jdbcTemplate bean which is used to query the database.

  I'm attempting to target VC7.1 (visual studio 2003 sp1) from Visual Studio 2010. I'm so close to setting it to work.
