  • How do I encrypt property values in Nant?

    - by Diego C.
I need to store authentication information and I rather not have the password in plain text: <property name="user" value="theUser"/> <property name="password" value="secret"/> Has anyone figured out a way to encrypt property values in Nant? I've looked in Nant and Nantcontrib docs but no mention of encryption. I am considering going the route of creating my own Nant Task. Any suggestions?

  • C# encrypt whole XML File

    - by René
I already have a solution for encrypting of several XML nodes or strings. But of course, you can open the local saved XML file and you should see the node tags. For some intelligent people it could be a reference for hidden informations. Is there any way to encrypt and decrypt the whole xml content including all node tags?

  • Encrypt column data with LINQ

    - by kape123
I was wondering if there is easy solution to this or I'm stuck with following: When updating DB: dti.Pass = Crypter.Encrypt(dti.Pass); _db.SubmitChanges(); When selecting from DB: Data.DbTableItem dti = _db.Single(a=a.Id == id); dti.Pass = Crypter.Decrypt(dti.Pass); Meaning - I am not really into writing repetitive code and this seems like logical thing to be supported by LINQ; so I'm wondering if it is.

  • How to encrypt information in aspx page?

    - by Jimmyc
Hi all, I know it's a silly question but , My client asked for encrypting some information form their payment system to prevent user stealing personal information. The system is web-base and written by ASP.NET We have tried some annoying solution such as JavaScript no right-click or css-no-print but apparently my client didn't like it. so are there any commercial solution to encrypt information in aspx produced html pages? or someone can tell me how to pursuit my client to stop these "prevent stealing" idea in a web-base system?

  • I need to encrypt the names of my http form elements

    - by William Calleja
I have a form with certain elements, input boxes, check boxes etc. I need to encrypt the names of these input boxes and check boxes. I'm currently using a Rijndael encryption/decryption method through c# however this is making the encrypted names too long to be passed in a post. Is there a better way to get decent encrypted names? my purpose is to have the names encrypted before the post happens so if someone views the code behind the names are already encrypted.

  • Safest LAMP encrypt method

    - by Adam Kiss
Hello, what is PHP's safest encrypt/decrypt method, in use with MySQL - to store let's say passwords? Of course, not for portal purposes. I want to do little password (domain/mysql/ftp...) storage for whole team online, but I don't want really to endanger our clients' bussinesses. Hash can't be used for obvious reasons (Doesn't really make sense to run rainbow tables every time :D). Any idea?

  • Encrypt file using M2Crypto

    - by Bear
It is known that I can read the whole file content in memory and encrypt it using the following code. contents = fin.read() cipher = M2Crypto.EVP.Cipher(alg="aes_128_cbc", key = aes_key, iv = aes_iv, op = 1) encryptedContents = cipher.update(contents) encryptedContents += cipher.final() But what if the file size is large, is there a way for me to pass the input stream to M2Crypto instead of reading the whole file first?

  • Encrypt/Decrypt SQLite-database and use it "on the fly"

    - by Berschi
Here's the thing: In my Qt4.6-Project, I use a SQLite-Database. This database shouldn't be unencrypted on my harddrive. So I want, that on every start of my program, the user gets asked to enter a password to decrypt the database. Of course the database never should appear "in clear" (not encrypted) on my harddrive. So is there any possibility to decrypt a SQLite-database "on the fly" and read and write data? What algorithm is here the best (maybe AES)? When it's not possible (or very slow), maybe it's better to encrypt every string in the database and decrypt the string when the password was right (so that a user could open the database, but has no clue what all the entrys could mean)?

  • Sha or Md5 algorithm i need to encrypt and decrypt in flex

    - by praveen
Hi I am developing my application in flex and JSP, so when I am passing values through HTTP Service Post method with request object but these values are tracing and modifying by testing team so I am planning to encrypt values in flex and decrypt it in jsp.so is there any algorithms like SHA or MD5 more secure algorithms, so please send any code or related links it is very useful to me. I am using like httpService = new HTTPService; httpService.request = new Object; httpService.request.task = "doInvite"; httpService.request.email = emailInput.text; httpService.request.firstName = firstNameInput.text; httpService.request.lastName = lastNameInput.text; httpService.send(); So is there any other way to give more secure ,please help me in this,Thanks in Advance.

  • Is it viable and necessary to encrypt bytes?

    - by Shervin
We have a requirement from customer that if someone gets access to the database, all data that includes personal information should be encrypted, so that when they do select calls, they shouldn't be able to see anything in clear text. Now this isn't any problem for Strings, but what about bytearrays? (that can potentially be quite huge (several 100mb)) When you do a select call, you get gibberish anyways. Is it possible for a hacker to somehow read the bytes and get the sensitive information without knowing how the structure of the object it is mapped against is? Because if that is the case, then I guess we should encrypt those bytes, even if they can potentially be quite huge. (I am guessing adding encryption will make them even bigger)

  • Encrypt text using a number

    - by Adam Matan
Project Euler I have recently begun to solve some of the Project Euler riddles. I found the discussion forum in the site a bit frustrating (most of the discussions are closed and poorly-threaded), So I have decided to publish my Python solutions on launchpad for discussion. The problem is that it seems quite unethical to publish these solutions, as it would let other people gain reputation without doing the programming work, which the site deeply discourages. My Encryption problem I want to encrypt my answers so that only those who have already solved the riddles can see my code. The logical key would be the answer to the riddle, which is always numeric. In order to prevent brute-force attacks on my answers, I want to find an encryption algorithm that takes a significantly long time (few seconds) to run. Do you know any such algorithm? I would fancy a Python package, which I can attach to the code, over an external program that might have portability issues. Thanks, Adam

  • Encrypt URL in asp.net

    - by Zerotoinfinite
Hi All, My site is in asp.net 3.5 and C#. I am sending link to my user through mail, now I want to send each user a specific URL. so instead of sending the clear text I want to send link with encrypted string URL, which I will decrypt on my home page. Like instead of www.mysite.aspx\mypage?userId=12 i'll send www.mysite.aspx\mypage?UserId=)@kasd12 and the same i'll decrypt on my page so that I'll get the userId = 12. Please let me know if my approach is correct and not and how can I encrypt & decrypt the string in simplest and easier manner. Thanks in advance.

  • m2crypto aes-256-cbc not working against encoded openssl files.

    - by Gary
$ echo 'this is text' > text.1 $ openssl enc -aes-256-cbc -a -k "thisisapassword" -in text.1 -out text.enc $ openssl enc -d -aes-256-cbc -a -k "thisisapassword" -in text.enc -out text.2 $ cat text.2 this is text I can do this with openssl. Now, how do I do the same in m2crypto. Documentation is lacking this. I looked at the snv test cases, still nothing there. I found one sample, http://passingcuriosity.com/2009/aes-encryption-in-python-with-m2crypto/ (changed to aes_256_cbc), and it will encrypted/descrypt it's own strings, but it cannot decrypt anything made with openssl, and anything it encrypts isn't decryptable from openssl. I need to be able enc/dec with aes-256-cbc as have many files already encrypted with this and we have many other systems in place that also handle the aes-256-cbc output just fine. We use password phrases only, with no IV. So setting the IV to \0 * 16 makes sense, but I'm not sure if this is also part of the problem. Anyone have any working samples of doing AES 256 that is compatible with m2crypto? I will also be trying some additional libraries and seeing if they work any better.

  • AES Key encoded byte[] to String and back to byte[]

    - by Tom Brito
In the similar question "Conversion of byte[] into a String and then back to a byte[]" is said to not to do the byte[] to String and back conversion, what looks like apply to most cases, mainly when you don't know the encoding used. But, in my case I'm trying to save to a DB the javax.crypto.SecretKey data, and recoverd it after. The interface provide a method getEncoded() which returns the key data encoded as byte[], and with another class I can use this byte[] to recover the key. So, the question is, how do I write the key bytes as String, and later get back the byte[] to regenerate the key?

  • RSA C# Encrypt Java Decrypt

    - by user353030
Hi guys, In my program (server side - Java) I've created keystore file, with command: keytool -genkey -alias myalias -keyalg RSA -validity 10000 -keystore my.keystore and exported related X509 certificate with: keytool -export -alias myalias -file cert.cer -keystore my.keystore After I saved cert.cer on client side (C#) and I write this code: X509Certificate2 x509 = new X509Certificate2(); byte[] rawData = ReadFile("mycert.cer"); x509.Import(rawData); RSACryptoServiceProvider rsa = (RSACryptoServiceProvider)x509.PublicKey.Key; byte[] plainbytes = System.Text.Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("My Secret"); byte[] cipherbytes = rsa.Encrypt(plainbytes, true); String cipherHex = convertToHex(cipherContent); byte[] byteArray = encoding.GetBytes(cipherHex); .... I write this Java code on server side: keyStore = KeyStore.getInstance(KeyStore.getDefaultType()); keyStore.load(new FileInputStream("C:\\my.keystore"), "mypass".toCharArray()); Key key = keyStore.getKey("myalias", "mypass".toCharArray()); if (key instanceof PrivateKey) { Certificate cert = keyStore.getCertificate("myalias"); PublicKey pubKey = cert.getPublicKey(); privKey = (PrivateKey)key; } byte[] toDecodeBytes = new BigInteger(encodeMessageHex, 16).toByteArray(); Cipher decCipher = Cipher.getInstance("RSA"); decCipher.init(Cipher.DECRYPT_MODE, privKey); byte[] decodeMessageBytes = decCipher.doFinal(toDecodeBytes); String decodeMessageString = new String(decodeMessageBytes); I receive this error: javax.crypto.BadPaddingException: Data must start with zero Can you help me, please? Thanks thanks,
