  • Group policy applied to AD OU attributes

    - by Eric Smith
I'm not well-versed in AD, so would like to resolve a question I have with regards to AD information. I understand that it is possible to apply group policy to OU's, thereby restricting access. What I'd like to know is, is it possible to do the same with OU attributes. Some context would help. There's a requirement to store address information in AD (IMO, a natural fit), but for various reasons, although obviously things like name should be globally accessible, access restrictions are desired on the address. In this case, is it possible to apply security to the address portion of the OU attributes, or does each address have to be broken into a separate OU (a solution that feels smelly given that address doesn't have identity)?

  • Mapping a collection of enums with NHibernate

    - by beaufabry
Mapping a collection of enums with NHibernate Specifically, using Attributes for the mappings. Currently I have this working mapping the collection as type Int32 and NH seems to take care of it, but it's not exactly ideal. The error I receive is "Unable to determine type" when trying to map the collection as of the type of the enum I am trying to map. I found a post that said to define a class as public class CEnumType : EnumStringType { public CEnumType() : base(MyEnum) { } } and then map the enum as CEnumType, but this gives "CEnumType is not mapped" or something similar. So has anyone got experience doing this? So anyway, just a simple reference code snippet to give an example with [NHibernate.Mapping.Attributes.Class(Table = "OurClass")] public class CClass : CBaseObject { public enum EAction { do_action, do_other_action }; private IList<EAction> m_class_actions = new List<EAction>(); [NHibernate.Mapping.Attributes.Bag(0, Table = "ClassActions", Cascade="all", Fetch = CollectionFetchMode.Select, Lazy = false)] [NHibernate.Mapping.Attributes.Key(1, Column = "Class_ID")] [NHibernate.Mapping.Attributes.Element(2, Column = "EAction", Type = "Int32")] public virtual IList<EAction> Actions { get { return m_class_actions; } set { m_class_actions = value;} } } So, anyone got the correct attributes for me to map this collection of enums as actual enums? It would be really nice if they were stored in the db as strings instead of ints too but it's not completely necessary.

  • Using smartctl to get vendor specific Attributes from ssd drive behind a SmartArray P410 controller

    - by Lairsdragon
Recently I have deployed some HP server with SSD's behind a SmartArray P410 controller. While not official supported from HP the server work well sofar. Now I like to get wear level info's, error statistics etc from the drive. While the SA P410 supports a passthru of the SMART Command to a single drive in the array the output I was not able to the the interesting things from the drive. • How to measure code quality? [closed]

    - by Lo Wai Lun
Is there a methodology or any objective standard to determine whether the code of the project is well-written? How to measure in a structural and scientific manner to access the quality of the code? Many people say code review is important and always do encapsulation and data abstraction to ensure the quality. How can we determine the quality? Can a structural, organised software design diagrams drawn implies good quality of code ? If we type the code with good cautions of encapsulation and data abstraction, why review anyway?

  • KnownType Not sufficient for Inclusion

    - by Kate at LittleCollie
Why isn't the use of KnownType attribute in C# sufficient for inclusion of a DLL? Working with Visual Studio 2012 with TFS responsible for builds, I am on a project in which a service required use of this attribute as in the following: using Project.That.Contains.RequiredClassName; [ServiceBehavior(InstanceContextMode = InstanceContextMode.PerCall, Namespace="SomeNamespace")] [KnownType(typeof(RequiredClassName))] public class Service : IService { } But to get the required DLL to be included in the bin output and therefore the installer from our production build, I had to add the follow to the constructor for Service: public Service() { // Exists only to force inclusion var ignore = new RequiredClassName(); } So, given that the project that contains RequiredClassName is itself referenced by the project that contains Service, why isn't the use of the KnownType attribute sufficient for inclusion of DLL in the output?

  • pscp.exe (Putty SCP) ignoring preserve attributes flag

    - by jslatts
I am trying to scp files from a windows server to a linux server with the original time and dates intact. When running the command: pscp.exe -p C:\temp\somefile.txt user@server:/temp/ The file on the server always has the date/time of the transfer, not the original file. Putty SCP seems to be completely ignoring the preserve attributes flag. Anyone experienced this before and/or have a solution?

  • At most how many customized P3 attributes could be added into Agile?

    - by Jie Chen
I have one customer/Oracle Partner Consultant asking me such question: how many customized attributes can be allowed to add to Agile's subclass Page Three? I never did research against this because Agile User Guide never says this and theoretically Agile supports unlimited amount of customized attributes, unless the browser itself cannot handle them in allocated memory. However my customers says when to add almost 1000 attributes, the browser (Web Client) will not show any Page Three attributes, including all the out-of-box attributes. Let's see why. Analysis It is horrible to add 1000 attributes manually. Let's do it by a batch SQL like below to add them to Item's subclass Page Three tab. Do not execute below SQL because it will not take effect due to your different node id. Now go to JavaClient and confirm if we have them or not. Theoretically we are able to open such item object and see all these 1000 attributes and their values, but we get below error. We have no error tips in server log. But never mind we have the Java Console for JavaClient. If to open the same item in JavaClient we get a clear error and detailed trace in Java Console. ORA-01795: maximum number of expressions in a list is 1000 java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01795: maximum number of expressions in a list is 1000 at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.throwSqlException(DatabaseError.java:125) ... ... at weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.PreparedStatement.executeQuery(PreparedStatement.java:128) at com.agile.pc.cmserver.base.AgileFlexUtil.setFlexValuesForOneRowTable(AgileFlexUtil.java:1104) at com.agile.pc.cmserver.base.BaseFlexTableDAO.loadExtraFlexAttValues(BaseFlexTableDAO.java:111) at com.agile.pc.cmserver.base.BasePageThreeDAO.loadTable(BasePageThreeDAO.java:108) If you are interested in the background of the problem, you may de-compile the class com.agile.pc.cmserver.base.AgileFlexUtil.setFlexValuesForOneRowTable and find the root cause that Agile happens to hit Oracle Database's limitation that more than 1000 values in the "IN" clause. Check here http://ora-01795.ora-code.com If you need Oracle Agile's final solution, please contact Oracle Agile Support. Performance Below two screenshot are jvm heap usage from before-SQL and after-SQL. We can see there is no big memory gap between two cases. So definitely there is no performance impact to Agile Application Server unless you have more than 1000 attributes for EACH of your dozens of  subclasses. And for client, 1000 attributes should not impact the browser's performance because in HTML we only use dt and dd for each attribute's pair: label and value. It is quite lightweight.

  • ASA hairpining: I basicaly want to allow 2 spokes to be able to communicate with each other.

    - by Thirst4Knowledge
ASA Spoke to Spoke Communication I have been looking at spke to spoke comms or "hairpining" for months and have posted on numerouse forums but to no avail. I have a Hub and spoke network where the HUB is an ASA Firewall version 8.2 * I basicaly want to allow 2 spokes to be able to communicate with each other. I think that I have got the concept of the ASA Config for example: same-security-traffic permit intra-interface access-list HQ-LAN extended permit ip ASA-LAN 255.255.248.0 HQ-LAN 255.255.255.0 access-list HQ-LAN extended permit ip 192.168.99.0 255.255.255.0 HQ-LAN 255.255.255.0 access-list no-nat extended permit ip ASA_LAN 255.255.248.0 HQ-LAN 255.255.255.0 access-list no-nat extended permit ip HQ-LAN 255.255.255.0 192.168.99.0 255.255.255.0 access-list no-nat extended permit ip 192.168.99.0 255.255.255.0 HQ-LAN 255.255.255.0 I think my problem may be that the other spokes are not CIsco Firewalls and I need to work out how to do the alternative setups. • Unit testing methods decorated with custom attributes

    - by Joel Cunningham
I am trying to retrofit unit tests on to some existing code base. Both the class and method I want to unit test is decorated with custom attributes. These attributes are fairly sophisticated and I dont want them to run as part of the unit test. The only solution I have come up with is to compile the attribute out when I want to unit test. I dont really like this solution and would prefer to either replace it with a mocked attribute at runtime or prevent the attribute from running in a more elegant way. How do you unit test code that has class and method attributes that you dont want to run as part of a unit test? Thanks in advance.

  • Serialize .Net object to json, controlled using xml attributes

    - by sprocketonline
    I have a .Net object which I've been serializing to Xml and is decorated with Xml attributes. I would now like to serialize the same object to Json, preferably using the Newtonsoft Json.Net library. I'd like to go directly from the .Net object in memory to a Json string (without serializing to Xml first). I do not wish to add any Json attributes to the class, but instead would like for the Json serializer use the existing Xml attributes. [XmlRoot("hello")] public class world{ [XmlIgnore] public int ignoreMe{ get; } [XmlElement("foo")] public int bar{ get; } [XmlElement("marco")] public int polo{ get; } } becomes "hello":{ "foo":0, "marco":0 }

  • Convert XML attributes to a Dictionary in Linq to XML

    - by NateD
I've got a program that needs to convert two attributes of a particular tag to the key and value of an Dictionary<int, string>. The XML looks like this: (fragment) <startingPoint coordinates="1,1" player="1" /> and so far my LINQ looks something like this: XNamespace ns = "http://the_namespace"; var startingpoints = from sp in xml.Elements(ns+"startingPoint") from el in sp.Attributes() select el.Value; Which gets me a nice IEnumerable full of things like "1,1" and "1", but there should be a way to adapt something like this answer to do attributes instead of elements. Little help please? Thank you!

  • Find products that have a list of attributes.

    - by bellesebastien
I'm stuck trying to solve a problem that's proving to be more difficult than it seems. Consider there is a table that associates products with attributes, it looks like this: Products_id | Attribute_id 21 | 456 21 | 231 21 | 26 22 | 456 22 | 26 22 | 116 23 | 116 23 | 231 Next, I have a list of attribute_ids which I want to use in order to get the products that have all the attributes in that list. For example if I search in the table above using this list (456, 26) I should get these product_ids 21 and 22. Another example, if I search for (116, 231) I should get an empty response since there are no products that have both these attributes. How can I achieve this using one query? I hope I made my question clear. Thanks.

  • Setting QTMovie attributes

    - by Josh Matthews
I'm trying to create a QTVR movie via QTKit, and I've got all the frames in the movie. However, setting the attributes necessary doesn't seem to be having any effect. For example: NSNumber *val = [NSNumber numberWithBool:YES]; [fMovie setAttribute:val forKey:QTMovieIsInteractiveAttribute]; val = [NSNumber numberWithBool:NO]; [fMovie setAttribute:val forKey:QTMovieIsLinearAttribute]; If I then get the value of these attributes, they come up as NO and YES, respectively. The movie is editable, so I can't understand what I'm doing wrong here. How can I ensure that the attributes will actually change?

  • Finding the attributes on the properties of an instance of a class

    - by Dan
Given an instance of a class I want to set properties on attributes at runtime. So I tried this, but as far as I can tell this finds the attributes on the class not the instance, so any changes I make to the attribute properties have no effect. var properties = myObject.GetType().GetProperties(); foreach (object prop in properties) { var attribute =prop.GetCustomAttributes(typeof(MyAttribute), true)[0]; //attribute.MyProp do some stuff } If I try using type descriptor like below, there is no way of getting to the attributes on the properties. var myObject= (MyClass) object; PropertyDescriptorCollection props = TypeDescriptor.GetProperties(myObject); //There is no props[0].GetCustomAttributes(

  • Unable to type cast <AnonymousType#1> to <WindowsFormsApplication1.Attributes> [ C#3.0 ]

    - by Newbie
I have List<Attributes> la = new List<Attributes>(); la = (from t in result let t1 = t.AttributeCollection from t2 in t1 where t2.AttributeCode.Equals(attributeType) let t3 = t2.TimeSeriesData from k in t3.ToList() where k.Key.Equals(startDate) && k.Key.Equals(endDate) select new { AttributeCode = attributeType, TimeSeriesData = fn(k.Key, k.Value.ToString()) }).ToList<Attributes>(); I am getting the error: 'System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<AnonymousType#1>' does not contain a definition for 'ToList' and the best extension method overload 'System.Linq.Enumerable.ToList<TSource>(System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<TSource>)' has some invalid arguments I understood tye error meaning but how to type cast it. I have used var and then iterating over it got the result. But without that any other way by which I can do it? Using C# 3.0 Thanks

  • Iterate attributes and IBOutlets of a UIViewController

    - by Espuz
I've a generic UIViewController on my app. All the UIViewController on the app inherits from this generic one. I'm trying to automate the deallocation and releasing of attributes and IBOutlets as properties. I'm doing the first (attributes) on dealloc method and the second (IBOutlets as properties) on viewDidUnload. - (void) dealloc { [_att1 release]; _att1 = nil; [_att2 release]; _att2 = nil; // ... } - (void) viewDidUnload { self.att1 = nil; // att1 is an IBOutlet self.att2 = nil; // att2 is an IBOutlet // ... } Is there any way to iterate all my attributes and IBOutlets to simplify this operations? I want to avoid do it for each outlet and attribute and delegate it to the generic UIViewController. Thanks.

  • python xml.dom.minidom.Attr question

    - by rudy
Getting attributes using minidom in Python, one uses the "attributes" property. e.g. node.attributes["id"].value So if I have <a id="foo"></a>, that should give me "foo". node.attributes["id"] does not return the value of the named attribute, but an xml.dom.minidom.Attr instance. But looking at the help for Attr, by doing help('xml.dom.minidom.Attr'), nowhere is this magic "value" property mentioned. I like to learn APIs by looking at the type hierarchy, instance methods etc. Where did this "value" property come from?? Why is it not listed in the Attr class' page? The only data descriptors mentioned are isId, localName and schemaType. Its also not inherited from any superclasses. Since I'm new to Python, would some of the Python gurus enlighten?

  • Setting Key Usage attributes with Makecert

    - by nlawalker
Is it possible to set Key Usage attributes using makecert, or any other tool I can use to generate my own test certificates? The reason I'm interested is that certificates used for BizTalk Server AS2 transport require a key usage of Digital Signature for signing and Data Encipherment or Key Encipherment for encryption/decryption, and I want to play around with this feature. I see how to set enhanced key usage attributes with makecert, but not key usage.

  • Python: Is there a way to reflectivly list all attributes of a class

    - by hhafez
Given a class such as def MyClass text = "hello" number = 123 Is there a way in python to inspect MyClass an determine that it has the two attributes text and number. I can not use something like inspect.getSource(object) because the class I am to get it's attributes for are generate using SWIG (so they are hidden in .so :) ). So I am really looking for something equivalant to Java's [Class.getDeclardFields][1] Any help would be appreciated, otherwise I'll have to solve this problem with SWIG + JAVA instead of SWIG + Python.

  • How to get attributes from parent?

    - by bribon
Hi all, Let's say we have these classes: class Foo(object): _bar = "" def __init__(self): self.bar = "hello" def getBar(self): return self._bar def setBar(self, bar): self._bar = bar def getAttributes(self): for attr in self.__dict__: print attr bar = property(getBar, setBar) class Child(Foo): def __init__(self): super(Child, self).__init__() self.a = "" self.b = "" if I do something like: child = Child() child.getAttributes() I get all the attributes from parent and child. How could I get the attributes only from the parent? Thanks in advance!
