  • Java application crashes on startup in citrix session

    - by Brimstedt
Hello We have a java application published through citrix. When application is launched for a new user, it crashes immediately on startup. If we login using RDP, then log out (not starting the app), it starts to work. We've published another smaller java app, and it works for new users, without the need to first log on using RDP. Steps: - Publish java app - create new user - run published app in citrix -> crash - log on user using rdp, log out - run published app in citrix -> works fine Its becoming real tiresom to log on each new user to each citrix server :-P

  • Intel Rapid Storage Technology service always crashes

    - by Massimo
I'm running Windows 7 x64 on a system based on an Asus Z87-Deluxe motherboard; the storage is configured for RAID mode; there is a single SSD drive for the O.S. and two 4-TB disks in a RAID 1 setup for the data. I've installed the latest version of Intel's Rapid Storage Technology drivers, 12.8.0.1016. The program complains about its service not being running, and the service is actually stopped; if I try to start it, it crashes. I've already tried reinstalling the package, but nothing changed. All the disks work correctly, but the RST program is unusable. How can I fix this?

  • Visual Studio 2008 crashes whenever I try to add a file to TFS

    - by Herms
Wondering if anyone else has seen this or knows of a way to fix it. I have Visual Studio 2008 Pro with Team Explorer 2008 installed. Starting a couple of weeks ago any time I try to add a file to TFS (using the "Add Items to Folder" button in the Source Control Explorer window) VS crashes. I briefly see an "unhandled exception" dialog appear, but VS quits right after the dialog opens. I was able to see the exception at one point, and it looked like an index out of bounds exception trying to access some UI component list at -1 (can't remember the specifics, and it closes before I can bring it up now). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling VS a couple of times already, along with resetting all of my settings. Neither helped.

Any reason/solution to this problem?

  • php crashes when I try to add extensions

    - by Christy
Hi all, I am trying to install phpmyadmin on my web server with Windows 2008 and iis 7. PHP is running fine and I have several sites that rely on it. When installing phpmyadmin - it has errors at the bottom that crypt and mbstring are not properly installed. When I try to add the php_mcrypt.dll and/or the php_mbstring.dll to the php.ini file (I verified the location and the right file through phpinfo) it crashes. I get a 500 error on all the websites, and I get an error on the server saying FastCGI has failed. Does anyone know how to fix this or why it is happening? Shouldn't I be able to add extenstions? I have the dll files in the extension folder, which is referenced in the php.ini and other extensions (installed previously) are working as expected. Other info: php version 5.2.8, pdo driver for mysql version 5.0.51a Thanks in advance!

  • Opening an oracle database crashes the service [SOLVED]

    - by tundal45
I am experiencing a weird issue with Oracle where the service started fine after a crash. The database mount went fine as well. However, when I issue alter database open; command, the database does not open, gives a generic cannot connect to the database error & crashes the service. Oracle support has not seen this issue before so it's pretty scary. The fact that there are no logs that give any leads as to what could be causing this is also scary. I was wondering if good folks over at Server Fault had seen something like this or have some insights on things that I could try. It's Oracle 10g running on Windows Server 2003. Thanks, Ashish

  • Pinnacle Studio 14 Importer crashes on Windows 7 x64

    - by Tuminoid
Pinnacle Studio 14 Importer crashes on Windows 7 x64, thus I'm unable to import videos from my camcorder. I've Googled around and it seems to be a problem with x64 support in the program, but there is no info if it can somehow be remedied with Compatibility settings, XP mode. Further Googling got me this link, and none of the tips in site it links help. I've got no idea what ObjectDoct Plus 2 is (no a program or service installed by that name) which he claims causes the problem. Is that ObjectDoct critical to Pinnacle Studio and how to get rid of it (or any other advice how to make Studio 14 work on x64). UPDATE: 1) XP mode doesn't help as it doesn't handle Firewire, which is how my Canon HV20 must be connected to transfer HDV from tape. 2) I don't have that ObjectDock installed. 3) I don't wanna re-buy PS15 just to get this solved as PS14 should be able to do it.

  • Computer crashes twice/thrice before booting into windows

    - by Adil Malik
I need help. i built a PC, and it behaves very strangely. When i press the power button, the lights come on, fan maxes out, HDD spins, bios shows up etc and then it immediately crashes (powers down) before booting into windows. Then it powers on automatically and this time boots correctly. Sometimes there is just one failed boot and sometimes it takes 2 such boots to correctly start the computer. This unexpected shutdown never happens once it has booted in windows, just between the windows logo and bios menu. Any ideas?

  • Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 crashes - ieframe.dll

    - by Bryan
Outlook 2010 is crashing rather randomly, not at any specific time like opening a preview pane or message. Event viewer gives the following Faulting application name: OUTLOOK.EXE, version: 14.0.6131.5000, time stamp: 0x509b1020 Faulting module name: ieframe.dll, version: 9.0.8112.16464, time stamp: 0x50ec98f5 Similar events have been logged only with URLMON.DLL, but with ieframe.dll more frequent. I'm looking where to start with this problem, and I'm starting with running outlook in safe mode using Outlook /safe from the start menu. Further complicating this issue are 2 programs syncing email to other calenders. Should I start with these additional programs that are syncing email as being possible culprits? Or does this have to do with Internet Explorer because of the DLL associated with these crashes? I've tried regsvr32 with both DLL's mentioned, with ieframe being unsuccessful. So my question is: what's causing Outlook to crash?

  • Virtualbox crashes quite often in Windows 8

    - by user1776158
I just installed Windows 8 on my computer. I got the ISO and the product key from my university so the software itself is sound. I use alot of virtual box. And ever since I moved to Windows 8, I have noticed that virtual box crashes more often. In particular, it is very very bad at opening multiple guests. My CPU usage will be at like 20% and I only have 3 guests open and my entire computer just freezes. Cursor and all. In Windows 7, I was able to open like 6 (not that I ever needed to) and really push my CPU. I havent experience any other issues with Windows 8 yet. Has anyone encountered this? Thanks!

  • Computer crashes and freezes a lot

    - by Gigili
My computer crashes like it freezes sometimes but sometimes it jumps to a black screen which I can do nothing about other than restart. I tested if it has anything to do with the programs I normally run or with the ones I installed, but it's a long time I have the problem and I think it also happened in the beginning that I bought this computer. To make sure, I normally run skype and Spiral Knights and some animation softwares like Flash. The specs are: Nvidia geforce gtx 560 evga Asus p8H67-m evo motherboard 16 gb ram Intel i7 What can I do about it? What issue is more probable to cause the problem?

  • Acer Aspire 5532 crashes with no warning

    - by keenan
I have an Acer Aspire 5532. I don't have more specs off the top of my head but from what I've looked up it has all the factory stock stuff in. My keyboard is completely shot and doesn't work at all. It was working fine for quite a while, however I go to get on it Thanksgiving night and all of a sudden it just crashes with no warning. I try to restart it and it beeps 3 times with about 15 seconds in between each beep. After that it will go to start up and get to the log in screen, and about 3 minutes later it will crash again with absolutely no warning. The same thing happens every time I try to start it up. I've taken it completely apart and cleaned the fan and all the airways. I made sure all the connections are good (or at least all the ones that I can get to above the mother board), put it back together and I get the same problem.

  • Ubuntu Lucid (10.04) subpixel font rendering crashes Xorg

    - by user36066
Hi everyone... I really don't know how to solve this on my own so I thought giving this site a chance. After upgrading to Lucid I ran into some problems. With some experimenting I came to a conclusion that if I enable subpixel smoothing on fonts the moment I start any other application not native to GTK+ (wine, openoffice, wxWidgets, ...) my X server crashes the same moment. At first this seemed like something went wrong during installation. To cut the long story short, after 3 clean installations and whole bunch of experimenting the same thing happens all over again. Strange thing is... if I configure any other font smoothing besides subpixel, everything works like it should. Any thoughs?

  • Why does compiz window decorator crashes unity

    - by user32509
I used to run Unity 2D on my work machine. Now I am trying to use Unity. Everthing looks fine except for the missing window decoration. I have installed the compiz manager. Every time I activate the plugin "window decoration" Unity "crashes" the Unity bar along with the top panel . unity --reset oder replace does nothing. The command for the window manager is /usr/bin/compiz-decorator Maybe I need to specify another window decorator?

  • Application crashes when installing on Windows 7 but not on Windows XP

    - by JiBéDoublevé
At my company, we're migrating from Windows XP to Windows 7. We've got 2 home made applications written in C# with the .NET framework 3.5. They use ClickOnce to be installed. We're in the test phase and the installation of these soft crashes on some Windows 7 machines and doesn't on others. The difference between these machines should be the configuration of the policies. The only error message we've got is this one: I tried to find some logs somewhere but there's nothing neither in the Event Viewer nor in the applications log (wich are poorly logged, then I'm not expecting miracle from this side :( ) These applications: work with FTP servers use WCF use old deprecated libraries (as I'm not at work, I'll edit this post when I'll have the info) use nHibernate 2 use LLBLGen use a deprecated Infragistics library export data into Excel files Did you encounter such an issue while migrating? Or do you have an idea where I should investigate on?

  • Server 2012 DFS New Member Issue

    - by David
I am trying to add a new member to our DFS topology. We have 3 DCs (VMs - VMware) running Windows server 2012, two servers are located in or Primary site and the third at our DR site. Currently the two servers at our primary site are currently replicating DFS (full mesh) and are working fine. I have tried several times to add the third DC to our DFS topology, every time i configure the replication path e.g E:\MSI and click ok the MMC snap in crashes. Below is the crash info, any idea what is causing this? What i am doing is fairly straight forward and don't see why this would be happening. • PDF rendering crashes app Core Graphics

    - by Felixyz
EDIT: The memory leaks turned out to be unrelated to the crashes. Leaks are fixed but crashes remain, still mysterious. My (iPhone) app does lots of PDF loading and rendering, some of it threaded. Sometime, it seems always after I flush a page cash after getting a memory warning, the app crashes with a bad access when trying to draw a pdf page stored in an NSData object. Here is one example trace: #0 0x3016d564 in CGPDFResourcesGetResource () #1 0x3016d58a in CGPDFResourcesGetResource () #2 0x3016d94e in CGPDFResourcesGetExtGState () #3 0x3015fac4 in CGPDFContentStreamGetExtGState () #4 0x301629a8 in op_gs () #5 0x3016df12 in handle_xname () #6 0x3016dd9e in read_objects () #7 0x3016de6c in CGPDFScannerScan () #8 0x30161e34 in CGPDFDrawingContextDraw () #9 0x3016a9dc in CGContextDrawPDFPage () But sometimes I get this instead: Program received signal: “EXC_BAD_ACCESS”. (gdb) bt #0 0x335625fa in objc_msgSend () #1 0x32c04eba in CFDictionaryGetValue () #2 0x3016d500 in get_value () #3 0x3016d5d6 in CGPDFResourcesGetFont () #4 0x3015fbb4 in CGPDFContentStreamGetFont () #5 0x30163480 in op_Tf () #6 0x3016df12 in handle_xname () #7 0x3016dd9e in read_objects () #8 0x3016de6c in CGPDFScannerScan () #9 0x30161e34 in CGPDFDrawingContextDraw () #10 0x3016a9dc in CGContextDrawPDFPage () Is this an indication that I've mistakenly deallocated an object? It's hard for me to decode what's happening here. This is how I create and retain the various objects involved: // Some data was just loaded from the network and is pointed to by "data" self.pdfData = data; _dataProviderRef = CGDataProviderCreateWithData( NULL, [_pdfData bytes], [_pdfData length], NULL ); _documentRef = CGPDFDocumentCreateWithProvider(_dataProviderRef); _pageRef = CGPDFDocumentGetPage(_documentRef, 1); CGPDFPageRetain(_pageRef); _pdfFrame = CGPDFPageGetBoxRect(_pageRef, kCGPDFArtBox); So the NSData object is retained, and I explicitly retain the page reference. The data provider and the document are already retained by the create-functions. And here is my dealloc method: -(void)dealloc { if (_pageRef) CGPDFPageRelease(_pageRef); if (_documentRef) CGPDFDocumentRelease(_documentRef); if (_dataProviderRef) CGDataProviderRelease(_dataProviderRef); self.pdfData = nil; [super dealloc]; } Am I doing anything wrong? Even an assurance that I'm not, with explanation, would be a help.

  • Node-webkit works on Mac, crashes and can't load module on Windows

    - by user756201
I've created a full node-webkit app that works fine on the Mac OSX version of node-webkit. Everything works, it loads a key external nodeJS module (marked), and the world is good. However, when I try to run the app on the Windows version of Node-webkit as described in the Wiki, the app crashes immediately (in fact, it crashes immediately when I try all the options: dragging a folder onto nw.exe, dragging an app.nw compressed folder, and running both from the command line). The only thing that gets me closer is opening nw.exe and then pointing the node-webkit location bar to the index file. Then I get this error: Uncaught node.js Error Error: Cannot find module 'marked' I tried commenting out the code that requires marked: var marked = require('marked'); That returns the app to crashing immediately. I assumed it was because of context issues between node.js and the node-webkit browser, but those seem to not be at fault since I tried this suggestion to make sure it finds the correct file for the marked module...went right back to immediate crashing. I'm out of ideas because the crashes don't seem to leave me any way of knowing what the error was.

  • WebLogic embedded LDAP crashes

    - by Spiff
Our production admin server (WebLogic 10.3.5 running on Solaris 10) crashes from time to time. Logs show tons of these errors (several each minute): <1-Jun-2012 2:28:34 o'clock AM EDT> <Critical> <EmbeddedLDAP> <BEA-000000> <java.lang.NullPointerException at weblogic.socket.DevPollSocketMuxer.cleanupSocket(DevPollSocketMuxer.java:150) at weblogic.socket.DevPollSocketMuxer.cancelIo(DevPollSocketMuxer.java:166) at weblogic.socket.SocketMuxer.deliverExceptionAndCleanup(SocketMuxer.java:836) at weblogic.socket.SocketMuxer.deliverEndOfStream(SocketMuxer.java:760) at weblogic.ldap.MuxableSocketLDAP$LDAPSocket.close(MuxableSocketLDAP.java:128) at com.octetstring.vde.Connection.close(Connection.java:166) at com.octetstring.vde.WorkThread.executeWorkQueueItem(WorkThread.java:89) at weblogic.ldap.LDAPExecuteRequest.run(LDAPExecuteRequest.java:50) at weblogic.work.SelfTuningWorkManagerImpl$WorkAdapterImpl.run(SelfTuningWorkManagerImpl.java:528) at weblogic.work.ExecuteThread.execute(ExecuteThread.java:209) at weblogic.work.ExecuteThread.run(ExecuteThread.java:178) Eventually, the admin server runs out of memory: <1-Jun-2012 12:29:59 o'clock PM EDT> <Error> <Kernel> <BEA-000802> <ExecuteRequest failed java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit exceeded. One does not necessarily cause the other, but it seems like a pretty good fit. When inspecting the WebLogic code, we see this: void cleanupSocket(MuxableSocket paramMuxableSocket, SocketInfo paramSocketInfo) { this.sockRecords[paramSocketInfo.getFD()] = null; // DevPollSocketMuxer.java:150 super.cleanupSocket(paramMuxableSocket, paramSocketInfo); } protected void cancelIo(MuxableSocket paramMuxableSocket) { super.cancelIo(paramMuxableSocket); cleanupSocket(paramMuxableSocket, paramMuxableSocket.getSocketInfo()); // DevPollSocketMuxer.java:166 } So paramMuxableSocket.getSocketInfo() would be null. I'm at a loss for explaining this... Anyone have an idea? Thanks!

  • Outlook express 6 crashes after "synchonizing account"

    - by Ira Baxter
[EDIT: Revised OE version to match reality] I use Outlook Express (OE) 6.00.3790.3959 to read newsgroups. I regularly scan through about 100 newsgroups. When I select a newsgroup, and then select "synchronize account", OE goes through the newsgroups visibly updating the unread message count. It gets apparantly to the end, and then comes back to check for Watched Conversations, of which I typically have a few scattered across the newsgroups. It invariably crashes with some kind of access fault. A dialog box pops up saying "Want to debug with "; I invariable say No, and the process goes away. I restart OE, select the newsgroup, and skip "Synchronize Account"; I am able to read news and everything seems just fine. This behavior has occurred since I set it up several months ago. Is the newsgroups database screwed up? Can I run something like CHKDSK or Outlooks PST repair to fix things up? Any suggestions as to what to do? The system is Windows XP 64 system installed in January 2008. I accept Windows Updates and install them on a regular basis. I use Outlook (not OE) for regular email an it behaves perfectly normally.

  • Apache crashes every 5min

    - by Simon
I'm relatively new to server issues, having a site of mine that I started early in the year grow beyond my capabilities of managing it. I need help. I recently moved out of my shared hosting environment onto a dedicated virtual server from Mediatemple. Each week, I run a script that fetches data from my DB, fetches data from last.fm's API and then tweets information to Twitter. My server uses Virtuozzo and when the script runs, Apache crashes every 5min. I checked and saw that the 'kmemsize' parameter reaches its cap (its 13mb). I realise my problem. The MySQL process stays open for long while Apache needs to handle lots of incoming links (about 200 000 pageviews for that day according to my previous host's AWSTATS). Yes, I'm quite unexperienced in this, and I'm clearly killing the server with too many incoming links while it has to manage the updating of the DB. So that is the precedent: I want a few answers. 1) Why did my shared hosting environment not crash apache every 5min? It ran fine, the site only slowed a lot. Clearly, it must be the virtual container and the kmemsize limit? 2) Where do I go from here? Would a physical server (not a virtual container) encounter the same problems? I sent a support request to Mediatemple as well. I need all the help I can get.

  • Office 2007 constantly crashes, logged as Event ID 1000
