  • Why is glpk-java.jar not the same across all platforms?

    - by pruefsumme
I'm using glpk-java in one of my projects. It provides a JNI to GLPK, a free LP/MIP solver. To use it under different platforms, you need different shared libraries (libglpk.so under Linux, libglpk.dylib under Mac OS X, glpk.dll under Windows) which is fully understandable. In addition, a java library is needed: glpk-java.jar. It's created as part of the build process. I was wondering why this JAR file (which only contains .class files) is different under different platforms? I.e., I cannot use the same glpk-java.jar under Linux and Mac OS X which means that I cannot put this file under revision control.

  • Iphone memory leak with malloc

    - by Icky
Hello. I have memory leak, found by instruments and it is supposed to be in this line of code: indices = malloc( sizeof(indices[0]) * totalQuads * 6); This is actually a code snippet from a tutorial, something which i think is leak-free so to say. Now I reckon, the error is somewhere else, but I do not know, where. These are the last trackbacks: 5 ColorRun -[EAGLView initWithCoder:] /Users/thomaskopinski/programming/colorrun_3.26/Classes/EAGLView.m:98 4 ColorRun -[EAGLView initGame] /Users/thomaskopinski/programming/colorrun_3.26/Classes/EAGLView.m:201 3 ColorRun -[SpriteSheet initWithImageNamed:spriteWidth:spriteHeight:spacing:imageScale:] /Users/thomaskopinski/programming/colorrun_3.26/SpriteSheet.m:68 2 ColorRun -[Image initWithImage:scale:] /Users/thomaskopinski/programming/colorrun_3.26/Image.m:122 1 ColorRun -[Image initImpl] /Users/thomaskopinski/programming/colorrun_3.26/Image.m:158 0 libSystem.B.dylib malloc Does anyone know how to approach this?

  • Cocos 2D v1.0.1 : Crash at changing CCMenuItemImage normal image

    - by Max
I retrieve a crash log file, which, after XCode analysis on my archive show the problematic line of code : Date/Time: 2012-12-08 23:48:08.930 +0100 OS Version: iPhone OS 5.1.1 (9B206) Report Version: 104 Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT) Exception Codes: 0x00000000, 0x00000000 Crashed Thread: 0 Last Exception Backtrace: 0 CoreFoundation 0x31a4088f __exceptionPreprocess + 163 1 libobjc.A.dylib 0x3188b259 objc_exception_throw + 33 2 CoreFoundation 0x31a40789 +[NSException raise:format:] + 1 3 Foundation 0x374c73a3 -[NSAssertionHandler handleFailureInMethod:object:file:lineNumber:description:] + 91 4 Killer 0x0017ed35 -[CCSprite initWithFile:] (CCSprite.m:201) 5 Killer 0x0017e419 +[CCSprite spriteWithFile:] (CCSprite.m:93) 6 Killer 0x00123101 -[Player makeZombie] (Player.m:1363) 7 Killer 0x00105a51 -[PlayScene endOfKilling:] (PlayScene.m:1438) Which clearly indicates the second of the two following lines is crashing: NSLog(@"images %@ %@",self.zombieImage,self.zombieImageDown); [self.characterSprite setNormalImage:[CCSprite spriteWithFile:self.zombieImage]]; I know that the crash seem to happend when the user is touching the corresponding CCMeanuItemImage, is there a problem if the user is touching it, while we change the normal et selected images of it ? Is this the right manner to change its image (i do it several times during the game) ? Thanks for your ideas

  • iPhone framework paths?

    - by user158103
I recently moved my projects to a new mac, along with a newer version of Xcode. When i opened my project i noticed that some files were red. So i remapped them by setting the path (by project path) and then providing the proper path location. Now my problem is that the frameworks that i have are red, and i cant find their location! I did set the framework paths to be "relative to current SDK" however. Can anybody help me get my frameworks mapped correctly? The frameworks im using are: - QuartzCore.framework - libsqlite3.0.dylib - UIKit.framework - Foundation.frameowrk - CoreGraphics.framework The XCode version is 3.1.4 (the only one installed). The iPhone app was originally created using a prior version of Xcode (i dont remember which version).

  • Getting Perl DBD::mysql working on OS X 10.7?

    - by Bart B
I can't seem to get Perl & MySQL to talk to each other on OS X 10.7 Lion. I did all the installs by the book, I used Oracle's PKG installer for the latest MySQL Community Server, and I installed DBI and DBD::mysql via CPAN. There were not problems at all during the install, but, when I try to USE DBD::mysql to connect to my local DB server I get the following error: install_driver(mysql) failed: Can't load '/Library/Perl/5.12/darwin-thread-multi-2level/auto/DBD/mysql/mysql.bundle' for module DBD::mysql: dlopen(/Library/Perl/5.12/darwin-thread-multi-2level/auto/DBD/mysql/mysql.bundle, 1): Library not loaded: /usr/local/mysql/lib/libmysqlclient.16.dylib Referenced from: /Library/Perl/5.12/darwin-thread-multi-2level/auto/DBD/mysql/mysql.bundle Reason: image not found at /System/Library/Perl/5.12/darwin-thread-multi-2level/DynaLoader.pm line 204. at (eval 3) line 3 Compilation failed in require at (eval 3) line 3. Perhaps a required shared library or dll isn't installed where expected After a lot of googling all I could find were suggested hacks, so I gave this one a go: http://arkoftech.wordpress.com/2011/02/10/fixing-dbdmysql-for-mysql-5-5-89-under-macos-10-6-x/ I had to update some of the paths in the instructions since on Lion it's Perl 5.12 not 5.10. After doing that I got a new error: dyld: lazy symbol binding failed: Symbol not found: _mysql_init Referenced from: /Library/Perl/5.12/darwin-thread-multi-2level/auto/DBD/mysql/mysql.bundle Expected in: flat namespace dyld: Symbol not found: _mysql_init Referenced from: /Library/Perl/5.12/darwin-thread-multi-2level/auto/DBD/mysql/mysql.bundle Expected in: flat namespace Trace/BPT trap: 5 There must be a simple way to get MySQL & Perl working on OS X? - HELP!

  • JVM disappeared on Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8

    - by weisjohn
I'm working in Eclipse one night, (also using Android's DDMS from the commandline). The next morning, I open the lid... attempt to run Eclipse and get an error. me$ sudo /Applications/eclipse/eclipse JavaVM: requested Java version ((null)) not available. Using Java at "" instead. I'll probably be able to just re-install Java, but does anyone have any insight into why this may have happened or how to prevent in the future?

  • Library conflict in Mac OS X

    - by Juan Medín
I was trying to install the ImageMagick library on Mac OS X Snow Leopard, and first I tried port and, after it failed, homebrew. It updated some dependencies and installed ImageMagick without problems. So far so good. The problem came when I ran Apache. I got the following error in the system log: 07/04/11 12:55:15 org.apache.httpd[41841] httpd: Syntax error on line 115 of /private/etc/apache2/httpd.conf: Cannot load /opt/local/apache2/modules/libphp5.so into server: dlopen(/opt/local/apache2/modules/libphp5.so, 10): Library not loaded: /opt/local/lib/libpng12.0.dylib\n Referenced from: /opt/local/apache2/modules/libphp5.so\n Reason: image not found I checked the /opt/local/lib and surprise! I don't have the libpng12.0 but the libpng14.0. So, as far as I can tell, something went wrong installing the ImageMagick library. Now, I can't find a way to rollback to the previous libraries, other than copying them from the backup. Do you know if is there a way to recover the previous state or reinstall Apache? Or is this just a corrupt state and I must reinstall OS X?

  • iphone: Help with AudioToolbox Leak: Stack trace/code included here...

    - by editor guy
Part of this app is a "Scream" button that plays random screams from cast members of a TV show. I have to bang on the app quite a while to see a memory leak in Instruments, but it's there, occasionally coming up (every 45 seconds to 2 minutes.) The leak is 3.50kb when it occurs. Haven't been able to crack it for several hours. Any help appreciated. Instruments says this is the offending code line: [appSoundPlayer play]; that's linked to from line 9 of the below stack trace: 0 libSystem.B.dylib malloc 1 libSystem.B.dylib pthread_create 2 AudioToolbox CAPThread::Start() 3 AudioToolbox GenericRunLoopThread::Start() 4 AudioToolbox AudioQueueNew(bool, AudioStreamBasicDescription const*, TCACallback const&, CACallbackTarget const&, unsigned long, OpaqueAudioQueue*) 5 AudioToolbox AudioQueueNewOutput 6 AVFoundation allocAudioQueue(AVAudioPlayer, AudioPlayerImpl*) 7 AVFoundation prepareToPlayQueue(AVAudioPlayer*, AudioPlayerImpl*) 8 AVFoundation -[AVAudioPlayer prepareToPlay] 9 Scream Queens -[ScreamViewController scream:] /Users/laptop2/Desktop/ScreamQueens Versions/ScreamQueens25/Scream Queens/Classes/../ScreamViewController.m:210 10 CoreFoundation -[NSObject performSelector:withObject:withObject:] 11 UIKit -[UIApplication sendAction:to:from:forEvent:] 12 UIKit -[UIApplication sendAction:toTarget:fromSender:forEvent:] 13 UIKit -[UIControl sendAction:to:forEvent:] 14 UIKit -[UIControl(Internal) _sendActionsForEvents:withEvent:] 15 UIKit -[UIControl touchesEnded:withEvent:] 16 UIKit -[UIWindow _sendTouchesForEvent:] 17 UIKit -[UIWindow sendEvent:] 18 UIKit -[UIApplication sendEvent:] 19 UIKit _UIApplicationHandleEvent 20 GraphicsServices PurpleEventCallback 21 CoreFoundation CFRunLoopRunSpecific 22 CoreFoundation CFRunLoopRunInMode 23 GraphicsServices GSEventRunModal 24 UIKit -[UIApplication _run] 25 UIKit UIApplicationMain 26 Scream Queens main /Users/laptop2/Desktop/ScreamQueens Versions/ScreamQueens25/Scream Queens/main.m:14 27 Scream Queens start Here's .h: #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import <AVFoundation/AVFoundation.h> #import <MediaPlayer/MediaPlayer.h> #import <AudioToolbox/AudioToolbox.h> #import <MessageUI/MessageUI.h> #import <MessageUI/MFMailComposeViewController.h> @interface ScreamViewController : UIViewController <UIApplicationDelegate, AVAudioPlayerDelegate, MFMailComposeViewControllerDelegate> { //AudioPlayer related AVAudioPlayer *appSoundPlayer; • Data Formatters temporarily unavailable

    - by iphone newbie
I'm currently working on an iPhone app. This app has a login screen, also a signup screen. After the user has successfully signed up, I dismiss the signup view, then the app automatically logs in using the created account. After which, the login view is dismissed, showing the main view. I'm trying to modify this by immediately dismissing the login view, since I already have the account details of the user when the signup is successful. Basically, the ideal flow is: after the user successfully signs up, I save the username and password in a singleton class, then dismiss the signup view. When I get to the parent view (which is the login screen), I have a variable that checks if there was a successful signup. If that variable is true, I want to immediately dismiss the login view. However, I come across this error message: Data Formatters temporarily unavailable, will re-try after a 'continue'. (Unknown error loading shared library "/Developer/usr/lib/libXcodeDebuggerSupport.dylib") I'm not really sure why this happens. I have no problems dismissing the login view when I go through the actual login procedure - which of course also dismisses the login view if the user inputs a correct username and password. I'm not exactly sure, but I'm starting to think that the iPhone cannot handle dismissing 2 view controllers almost at the same time. Is it possible that I'm dismissing the login view too quickly? Is that a factor? Is there anyway for me to be able to dismiss 2 view controllers almost simultaneously without coming across this error message?

  • NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest: fails when using POST

    - by Combat
I'm using a custom NSURLCache to intercept calls for certain web pages in order to modify them dynamically. Inside cachedResponseForRequest: I modify the request, then send it out using sendSynchronousRequest. This works very well until you attempt to submit a form. If there is post data it fails. If i remove the HTTPBody and set the request to GET, it succeeds. But i need it to work with POST. If i send the request asynchronously it also works which is why i can't figure out why the synchronous request fails. • NSURL URLWithString: raises exception

    - by Stephen Darlington
In short, [NSURL URLWithString:] appears to be raising an exception. According to the documentation "If the string was malformed, returns nil." There is no mention of an exception being raised under any circumstance. In addition to this, I am both encoding the URL and checking for nil before converting the string to a URL. Can anyone offer any advice as to which exception it could be or what other error checking I should be doing before converting the URL? In case you're interested in the details, the calling code looks like this: NSString* tmpText = [newUrl stringByAddingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; if (tmpText == nil) { // error handling } else { NSURL* tmpURL = [NSURL URLWithString:tmpText]; And this is a section from the crash report download from iTunes Connect: 8 libobjc.A.dylib 0x300c1f84 objc_exception_throw 9 CoreFoundation 0x3029a598 +[NSException raise:format:arguments:] 10 CoreFoundation 0x3029a538 +[NSException raise:format:] 11 Foundation 0x30696dde -[NSURL initWithString:relativeToURL:] 12 Foundation 0x30696cd8 +[NSURL URLWithString:relativeToURL:] 13 Foundation 0x30696cae +[NSURL URLWithString:] 14 Yummy 0x000146ca -[DeliciousPostCell setUrl:] + 46 It seems that the URL was in a "bad" format somehow but that should really be returning a nil not an exception. I have never seen the exception being raised myself so I can't use XCode to trap the code and see what's happening. And the user(s) that experienced the problem never contacted me directly so I can't ask for more details. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Update (14/7/2009): Seems like such a hack, but I added an exception block around the suspect line. I also raised a Radar bug report (#7031551) suggesting that the code should match the documentation.

  • App crashes only after second execution only in Release configuration

    - by denbec
Hey all, i know this is probably not an easy question to answer, as it's hard to describe on my hand. I have an app that runs without problems on the device in Debug Configuration (also multiple times). Once I put it into Release Configuration (which I need before publishing?), the app starts without problems and I can proceed to the next page, where I show an core-plot graph. BUT only if I run it from xcode. As soon as I end the App and start it again, it opens without problems, but on the next page, it crashes. Now I don't have anything to debug other than the crash report: Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0xcf10000a Crashed Thread: 0 Thread 0 Crashed: 0 libobjc.A.dylib 0x000026f2 objc_msgSend + 14 1 StandbyCheck 0x0001fbea -[CPXYTheme newGraph] (CPXYTheme.m:36) 2 StandbyCheck 0x00007c06 -[SCGraphCell initWithStyle:reuseIdentifier:] (SCGraphCell.m:28) 3 StandbyCheck 0x00076b4a -[TTTableViewDataSource tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath:] (TTTableViewDataSource.m:128) 4 UIKit 0x0007797a -[UITableView(UITableViewInternal) _createPreparedCellForGlobalRow:withIndexPath:] + 514 5 UIKit 0x000776b0 -[UITableView(UITableViewInternal) _createPreparedCellForGlobalRow:] + 28 6 UIKit 0x00037e78 -[UITableView(_UITableViewPrivate) _updateVisibleCellsNow] + 940 7 UIKit 0x000367d4 -[UITableView layoutSubviews] + 176 8 StandbyCheck 0x000734b8 -[TTTableView layoutSubviews] (TTTableView.m:226) [...] Now, can someone point in any direction? • Install CLSQL on Mac OS X

    - by Ken
I have SBCL installed (via macports/darwinports) on my Intel Core 2 Duo Macbook running 10.5.8. I've installed several libraries like this: (require 'asdf) (require 'asdf-install) (asdf-install:install 'cl-who) But when I tried to install CLSQL this way ('clsql) after it downloaded, I got this: ... ; registering #<SYSTEM CLSQL-UFFI {123D9E01}> as CLSQL-UFFI ; $ cd /Users/ken/.sbcl/site/clsql-5.0.5/uffi/; make cc -arch x86_64 -arch i386 -bundle /usr/lib/bundle1.o -flat_namespace -undefined suppress clsql_uffi.c -o clsql_uffi.dylib ld: duplicate symbol dyld_stub_binding_helper in /usr/lib/bundle1.o and /usr/lib/bundle1.o for architecture i386 ld: duplicate symbol dyld_stub_binding_helper in /usr/lib/bundle1.o and /usr/lib/bundle1.o for architecture x86_64 collect2: ld returned 1 exit status collect2: ld returned 1 exit status lipo: can't open input file: /var/folders/Nf/Nf4o5ArDFaWBH2OwtnWM3E+++TQ/-Tmp-//ccJyZxou.out (No such file or directory) make: *** [clsql_uffi.so] Error 1 Is there something I forgot, or some trick to get it to build on Mac OS X? • cellForRowAtIndexPath: crashes when trying to access the indexPath.row/[indexPath row]

    - by Emil
Hey. I am loading in data to a UITableView, from a custom UITableViewCell (own class and nib). It works great, until I try to access the indexPath.row/[indexPath.row]. I'll post my code first, it will probably be easier for you to understand what I mean then. - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"CustomCell"; CustomCell *cell = (CustomCell *) [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil){ NSArray *topLevelObjects = [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"CustomCell" owner:self options:nil]; for (id currentObject in topLevelObjects){ if ([currentObject isKindOfClass:[CustomCell class]]){ cell = (CustomCell *) currentObject; break; } } } NSLog(@"%@", indexPath.row); // Configure the cell... NSUInteger row = indexPath.row; cell.titleLabel.text = [postsArrayTitle objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; cell.dateLabel.text = [postsArrayDate objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; cell.cellImage.image = [UIImage imageWithContentsOfFile:[postsArrayImg objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]]; NSLog(@"%@", indexPath.row); return cell; } The odd thing is, it does work when it loads in the first three cells (they are 125px high), but crashes when I try to scroll down. The indexPath is always avaliable, but not the indexPath.row, and I have no idea why it isn't! Please help me.. Thanks. • GH-Unit for unit testing Objective-C code, why am I getting linking errors?

    - by djhworld
Hi there, I'm trying to dive into the quite frankly terrible world of unit testing using Xcode (such a convoluted process it seems.) Basically I have this test class, attempting to test my Show.h class #import <GHUnit/GHUnit.h> #import "Show.h" @interface ShowTest : GHTestCase { } @end @implementation ShowTest - (void)testShowCreate { Show *s = [[Show alloc] init]; GHAssertNotNil(s,@"Was nil."); } @end However when I try to build and run my tests it moans with this error: - Undefined symbols: "_OBJC_CLASS_$_Show", referenced from: __objc_classrefs__DATA@0 in ShowTest.o ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status Now I'm presuming this is a linking error. I tried following every step in the instructions located here: - http://github.com/gabriel/gh-unit/blob/master/README.md And step 2 of these instructions confused me: - In the Target 'Tests' Info window, General tab: Add a linked library, under Mac OS X 10.5 SDK section, select GHUnit.framework Add a linked library, select your project. Add a direct dependency, and select your project. (This will cause your application or framework to build before the test target.) How am I supposed to add my project to the linked library list when all it accepts it .dylib, .framework and .o files. I'm confused! Thanks for any help that is received.

  • Finding source of over release

    - by Benedict Lowndes
Hi, I'm consistently seeing the same message sent in as a crash report from users of an app. It's clear that an object is being over-released but I'm unable to replicate it and I'm looking for tips on tracing the source of it. The relevant section from the crash report shows this: Application Specific Information: objc_msgSend() selector name: release Thread 0 Crashed: Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread 0 libobjc.A.dylib 0x90892edb objc_msgSend + 27 1 com.apple.CoreFoundation 0x95ec5a40 __CFBasicHashStandardCallback + 384 2 com.apple.CoreFoundation 0x95ec564e __CFBasicHashDrain + 478 3 com.apple.CoreFoundation 0x95ead6f1 _CFRelease + 353 4 com.apple.CoreFoundation 0x95eda0ed _CFAutoreleasePoolPop + 253 5 com.apple.Foundation 0x97ecedd6 NSPopAutoreleasePool + 76 6 com.apple.Foundation 0x97ececfe -[NSAutoreleasePool drain] + 130 7 com.apple.AppKit 0x9211255f -[NSApplication run] + 1013 8 com.apple.AppKit 0x9210a535 NSApplicationMain + 574 9 TheApp 0x000020a6 start + 54 I've used zombies and leaks, but haven't seen anything there. I've gone through the code and can't see it. What's the next step? Are there any hints I can discern from this information as to the source of it? Does the fact that this nearly exact same crash report is coming in repeatedly mean that it's the same object that's being over released, or because this is referring to the autorelease pool mean it could be any object? Does the reference to _CFRelease mean it's a Core Foundation object that's being over released?

  • JVM segmentation faults due to "Invalid memory access of location"

    - by Dan
I have a small project written in Scala 2.9.2 with unit tests written using ScalaTest. I use SBT for compiling and running my tests. Running sbt test on my project makes the JVM segfault regularly, but just compiling and running my project from SBT works fine. Here is the exact error message: Invalid memory access of location 0x8 rip=0x10959f3c9 [1] 11925 segmentation fault sbt I cannot locate a core dump anywhere, but would be happy to provide it if it can be obtained. Running java -version results in this: java version "1.6.0_37" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_37-b06-434-11M3909) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.12-b01-434, mixed mode) But I've also got Java 7 installed (though I was never able to actually run a Java program with it, afaik). Another issue that may be related: some of my test cases contain titles including parentheses like ( and ). SBT or ScalaTest (not sure) will consequently insert square parens in the middle of the output. For example, a test case with the name (..)..(..) might suddenly look like (..[)..](..). Any help resolving these issues is much appreciated :-) EDIT: I installed the Java 7 JDK, so now java -version shows the right thing: java version "1.7.0_07" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_07-b10) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.3-b01, mixed mode) This also means that I now get a more detailed segfault error and a core dump: # # A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment: # # SIGSEGV (0xb) at pc=0x000000010a71a3e3, pid=16830, tid=19459 # # JRE version: 7.0_07-b10 # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (23.3-b01 mixed mode bsd-amd64 compressed oops) # Problematic frame: # V [libjvm.dylib+0x3cd3e3] And the dump.

  • SQLite on iPhone - Techniques for tracking down multithreading-related bugs

    - by Jasarien
Hey guys, I'm working with an Objective-C wrapper around SQLite that I didn't write, and documentation is sparse... It's not FMDB. The people writing this wrapper weren't aware of FMDB when writing this code. It seems that the code is suffering from a bug where database connections are being accessed from multiple threads -- which according to the SQLite documentation won't work if the if SQLite is compiled with SQLITE_THREADSAFE 2. I have tested the libsqlite3.dylib provided as part of the iPhone SDK and seen that it is compiled in this manner, using the sqlite_threadsafe() routine. Using the provided sqlite library, the code regularly hits SQLITE_BUSY and SQLITE_LOCKED return codes when performing routines. To combat this, I added some code to wait a couple of milliseconds and try again, with a maximum retry count of 50. The code didn't contain any retry logic prior to this. Now when a sqlite call returns SQLITE_BUSY or SQLITE_LOCKED, the retry loop is invoked and the retry returns SQLITE_MISUSE. Not good. Grasping at straws, I replaced the provided sqlite library with a version compiled by myself setting SQLITE_THREADSAFE to 1 - which according to the documentation means sqlite is safe to be used in a multithreaded environment, effectively serialising all of the operations. It incurs a performance hit, that which I haven't measured, but it ridded the app of the SQLITE_MISUSE happening and seemed to not need the retry logic as it never hit a busy or locked state. What I would rather do is fix the problem of accessing a single db connection from multiple threads, but I can't for the life of me find where it's occurring. So if anyone has any tips on locating multithreaded bugs I would be extremely appreciative. Thanks in advance.
