    According to this article, I should be able to sync my Windows Mobile smartphone via my wireless internet connection. However, when I go to the connection settings, I only see USB and COM1 options. No option for ethernet. I have an HTC Maple (aka Snap), and it connects fine to my home wireless network, but I would like to be able to sync over the network.

    Probably because I live in Europe, I cannot understand 1 phenomenon in US cellphones business. iPhone is bound to AT&T, HTC EVO 4G is for Sprint, Droid goes with Verison etc... Businesses do that. I guess they do that for a reason. If I were a phone manufacturer, why should I make a phone available for a single carrier only?

    I am trying to install the drivers for my HTC Magic (2.1) and my iPod Touch "3G" 8GB (4.1), but when I plug them in, neither of them successfully install their drivers. They work perfectly fine when running on Windows natively, why are they behaving like this on Virtual Box? I am using Windows 7 (AMD64) - Natively & Non Natively. Ubuntu 10.10 - Also Natively Virtual Box 4.0.0 Hopefully someone has encountered this before and has an answer XD

    Hi guys, I'm trying to view websites with flash content in IE on a window mobile 6.5 device[HTC touch HD2].It says it has not got the right flash player.i tried to install the player but the device giving me an error,its saying the installer is not a valid pocket pc application. Has anyone else had a similar problem? If you have and sorted it could please advice me how to sort it? thanks

  • Disabling depth write trashes the frame buffer on some GPUs

    I sometimes disable depth buffer writing via glDepthMask(GL_FALSE) during the alpha rendering of a frame. That works perfectly fine on some GPUs (like the Motorola Droid's PowerVR), but on the HTC EVO with the Adreno GPU for example, I end up with the frame buffer being complete garbage (I see traces of the meshes I rendered somewhere, but the entire screen is mostly trashed). If I force glDepthMask to be true the entire time, everything works fine. I need glDepthMask to be off during parts of the alpha rendering. What can cause the framebuffer to get destroyed by turning the depth writing off? I do clear the depth buffer initially, and the majority of the screen has pixels rendered with depth writing turned on first before I do additional drawing with it turned off.

When testing a device by using Eclipse, it's easy to install and add device software with these specific brands commonly used in game testing like Samsung, Google, T-Mobile, and HTC; according to the Android Developers website. What if I'm using other brands that runs on Android to test the program via Eclipse (i.e. MyPhone, Starmobile), what should I look for to download in order to enable testing phones that those brands are using other than the brands that are known and commonly used: model number or simply brand?     I'd like to stream the audio from Ubuntu 10.10 to my HTC Desire HD (Android 2.2). I've seen solutions so far for streaming from audio players, but I'd like to stream any audio output from the PC to my phone. My use case is for watching TV/Films in VLC or online (BBC iPlayer) in bed, without having to use my surround sound system which is likely to wake up my house mates. I'm not just talking about music from Banshee, but any audio that the system makes. I was thinking that PulseAudio is pretty powerful, is it possible to route audio through that to a mobile device? Can it be done through bluetooth? Cheers in advance!

    To transfer files from my Android phone to Ubuntu, I use an app that creates a FTP server on the phone. Copying files to Ubuntu 12.04 (same with 12.10) I get up to 260 KB/s. Copying files to Windows 7 I get up to 1050 KB/s. I am currently on a fresh install of 12.10 with barely anything installed with the same results. I have tested with both a Galaxy S3 and HTC Desire HD with identical results. I have tested about 5 apps with the same results. Why is it slow on Ubuntu?
