  • How to Create MySQL Query to Find Related Posts from Multiple Tables?

    This is a complicated situation (for me) that I'm hopeful someone on here can help me with. I've done plenty of searching for a solution and have not been able to locate one. This is essentially my situation... (I've trimmed it down because if someone can help me to create this query I can take it from there.) TABLE articles (article_id, article_title) TABLE articles_tags (row_id, article_id, tag_id) TABLE article_categories (row_id, article_id, category_id) All of the tables have article_id in common. I know what all of the tag_id and category_id rows are. What I want to do is return a list of all the articles that article_tags and article_categories MAY have in common, ordered by the number of common entries. For example: article1 - tags: tag1, tag2, tag3 - categories: cat1, cat2 article2 - tags: tag2 - categories: cat1, cat2 article3 - tags: tag1, tag3 - categories: cat1 So if my article had "tag1" and "cat1 and cat2" it should return the articles in this order: article1 (tag1, cat1 and cat2 in common) article3 (tag1, cat1 in common) article2 (cat1 in common) Any help would genuinely be appreciated!     I have a Computer Science degree (long2 time ago) .. I do know Java OOP but i am now trying to pick up C++. I do have C and of course data structure using C or pascal. I have started reading Bjarne Stroustrup book (The C++ Programming Language - Special Edition) but find it extremely difficult esp. some section which i don't have exposure such as Recursive Descent Parser (chapter 6). In terms of the language i don't foresee i have problem but i have problem as mentioned cos' those topic are usually covered in a Master Degree program such as construction of compiler. I just bought a book called C++ primer (Stanley Lipmann) which i heard it is a very good book for C++. Only setback is it's of course no match with the amount of information from the original C++ creator. Please advice. Thanks.

    Are there any java libraries (Apache Style licenses) which provide a higher level of abstraction for unit conversions. e.g. kilograms to grams or grams to kilograms meters to centimeters or centimeters to meters ft - inches to centimeters I have looked at JSR 275 but it seems to be in a rejected state. Any Apache 2.0 style license will definitely help me here.

  • Altering CSS for nav bar images to accomodate IE

    My horizontal nav bar is populated with images for the links that are coming from one image that includes all the sub-images; each nav item image is identified by the pixel location within the larger image. This works perfectly fine in Firefox and Safari, but in IE, all of the images are misplaced too low within the nav bar (can only barely see the tops of the words). Two questions: How do I fix this in the css so it is back-compatible with the more recent versions (and current versions) of IE Do I need a separate IE stylesheet? Thanks!

  • How to elegantly handle ReturnUrl when using UrlRewrite in ASP.NET 2.0 WebForms

    I have a folder with multiple .aspx pages that I want to restrict access to. I have added web.config to that folder with <deny users="?"/>. The problem is that ReturnUrl is auto-generated with physical path to the .aspx file while I'm using UrlRewrite. Is there a way to manipulate ReturnUrl without doing manual authentication check and redirection? Is there a way to set ReturnUrl from code-behind or from web.config? EDIT: The application is using ASP.NET 2.0 WebForms. I cannot use 3.5 routing. EDIT 2: It seems like 401 status code is never captured. It returns 302 for protected page and redirects to login page with ReturnUrl. It does not return 401 for protected page. Hmm... Interesting... Ref: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa480476.aspx This makes things harder... I might have to write reverse rewrite mapping rules to regex match ReturnUrl and replace it if it doesn't return 401... If it does return 401 I can either set RawUrl to Response.RedirectLocation or replace ReturnUrl with RawUrl. Anyone else have any other ideas?

    I am using impersonation is used to access file on UNC share as below. var ctx = ((WindowsIdentity)HttpContext.Current.User.Identity).Impersonate(); string level = WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().ImpersonationLevel); On two Windows 2003 servers using IIS6, I am getting different impersonation levels: Delegation on one server and Impersonation on the other server. This causes issues where I am unable to access the UNC share on the server with 'Impersonation' level. What could be causing this difference? I searched through machine.config and IIS settings for the app pool, site and virtual directories - but aren't able to find the cause of this problem.

    Is there any way to change the name of a dynamic assembly after it has been created? I'm using a framework that uses dynamic methods, and it is creating a dynamic assembly with the same name as my main assembly (which causes problems with WPF when it tries to load resources). So I need to find a workaround, and I thought of trying to change the name of the dynamic assembly. I've tried using GetName() and then setting the Name property, but it appears that GetName returns a clone of the name because my change doesn't stick. What else can I try?

  • Merging changes to a workspace with uncommitted changes

    We've just recently switched over from SVN to Mercurial, but now we are running into problems with our workflow. Example I have my local clone of the repository which I work on. I'm making some highly experimental changes to our code base, something that I don't want to commit before I'm sure it works the way it is supposed to, I don't want to commit it even locally. Now, simultaneously, my co-worker has made some significant improvements/bug fixes which I need. He pushes his commits to our main repository. The question is, how can I merge his changes to my workspace without the requirement that I have to commit all my changes, since I need his changes to test my own code? A more day-to-day problem we have with the exact same workflow is where we have a couple of configuration files which are in the repository. Each developer makes a couple of small environment specific changes to the configuration files, but do not commit the changes. These couple of uncommitted files hinders us from making any merges to our workspace, just like with the example above. Ideally, the configuration files probably shouldn't be in the repository, unfortunately, that's just how it has to be for here unnamed reasons.

  • Setuptools Python namespace package in /opt

    I'm trying to get my app to install in /opt/[app_name] using setuptools. My app uses a namespace package. To install I run sudo python setup.py install --prefix=/opt/[app_name]/ --install-lib=/opt/[app_name]/ --install-scripts=/opt/[app_name]/ When I install it this was setuptools does not copy init.py in to my namespace package so when I come to run my app, python does not treat it as a package and I get import errors. if I create the init.py file my app works fine. How do I get setuptool to copy over the init.py file when using --install-lib and --prefix? Thanks Sam

When I click on the checkbox then the div-onclick event doesnt fire - I would like it to fire without having to dublicate the onclick onto the checkbox. <div id="id-tag" onclick="do()"> <span>text</span> <img src="pic.jpg" /> <input type="checkbox" name="mycheck" /> </div> I know the div-idtag but ideally would like to avoid specifying it inside the checkbox. Using another function call on the checkbox onclick to call the parent is NOT what I am looking for, like onclick="run_parent_onclick()" but this is okay (untested) onclick="this.parent.click()"

    I'm trying to create a set of overloaded templates for arrays/pointers where one template will be used when the compiler knows the size of the array and the other template will be used when it doesn't: template <typename T, size_t SZ> void moo(T (&arr)[SZ]) { ... } template <typename T> void moo(T *ptr) { ... } The problem is that when the compiler knows the size of the array, the overloads are ambiguous and the compile fails. Is there some way to resolve the ambiguity (perhaps via SFINAE) or is this just not possible.

I found it's very difficult to get batch process information like log or status when i working on sql server's agent. So I'd like to change my company's job scheduling process to another stable solution But I dind't know which solutions to choose. I tried to find as same solution as CA Autosys. My Company use window server system. We shoud consider framework or solution should be configured using solution's api because i plan to make a asp.net web application to manage our job shceduler. What kinds of job scheduler Framework or inexpensive solution do you suggest? Regards, Park PS: I think Quartz Framework has a good reputation on J2EE system. But I am not sure Quartz.NET is as good as orginal java version.

  • Efficient heaps in purely functional languages

    As an exercise in Haskell, I'm trying to implement heapsort. The heap is usually implemented as an array in imperative languages, but this would be hugely inefficient in purely functional languages. So I've looked at binary heaps, but everything I found so far describes them from an imperative viewpoint and the algorithms presented are hard to translate to a functional setting. How to efficiently implement a heap in a purely functional language such as Haskell? Edit: By efficient I mean it should still be in O(n*log n), but it doesn't have to beat a C program. Also, I'd like to use purely functional programming. What else would be the point of doing it in Haskell?

I can get using: select id, count(distinct assign) from X group by id order by count(distinct assign)desc; It will give me something: 1 2 2 3 3 1 My question is how can I get the average of the all assign counts?   • Convert svn repository to hg - authentication fails

    I'm trying to convert an existing svn repository to a mercurial repo with the following command hg convert <repository> <folder> My problem is that the svn repository's authentication is done with p12 certificates. I'm a bit lost on how to configure the certificate for the hg client so that I can pull the svn repo and convert it. Currently, if I try to run the above command, I get initializing destination hg-client repository abort: error: _ssl.c:480: error:14094410:SSL routines:SSL3_READ_BYTES:sslv3 alert handshake failure In other words, it cannot find the required certificate. The question is, how do I configure my hg client so that it can use my certificate? I'm using the command line hg client on linux.

  • JPA entitymanager remove operation is not performant

    When I try to do an entityManager.remove(instance) the underlying JPA provider issues a separate delete operation on each of the GroupUser entity. I feel this is not right from a performance perspective, since if a Group has 1000 users there will be 1001 calls issued to delete the entire group and itr groupuser entity. Would it make more sense to write a named query to remove all entries in groupuser table (e.g. delete from group_user where group_id=?), so I would have to make just 2 calls to delete the group. @Entity @Table(name = "tbl_group") public class Group { @OneToMany(mappedBy = "group", cascade = CascadeType.ALL, fetch = FetchType.LAZY) @Cascade(value = DELETE_ORPHAN) private Set<GroupUser> groupUsers = new HashSet<GroupUser>(0);

  • jQuery Drag and Drop Checking Question

    i am new to using jQuery and I just want to know how I can check whether a draggable object has been removed from the droppable object. Example, i have a dog and I dragged it to a doghouse which has a lightbulb that will light up indicating that the dog is there. When i drag the dog out of the doghouse, the lightbulb should go off again indicating the dog's absence. Help me please coz I really don't have any idea how to do this. Thanks in advance. :)

    We are interested in finding out some statistics of various frameworks Mailing list activity on say richfaces. Much similar to what is available on http://code.google.com (Low, Medium, High) + average number of emails per day | per month. Number of releases made in a year including patch, minor, major releases. We did look at the maven repositories but that wasn't very useful either. We did look at ohloh, but didn't get the desired information. Any other ideas on where to get this information (any maven-2 plugins)?

  • explicit copy constructor or implicit parameter by value

    I recently read (and unfortunately forgot where), that the best way to write operator= is like this: foo &operator=(foo other) { swap(*this, other); return *this; } instead of this: foo &operator=(const foo &other) { foo copy(other); swap(*this, copy); return *this; } The idea is that if operator= is called with an rvalue, the first version can optimize away construction of a copy. So when called with a rvalue, the first version is faster and when called with an lvalue the two are equivalent. I'm curious as to what other people think about this? Would people avoid the first version because of lack of explicitness? Am I correct that the first version can be better and can never be worse?
