  • Add Command prompt in VS 2008 Express Edition manually

    Hi all, To add the Command prompt in VS 2008 express edition, i have done the following steps: Tools-ExternalTools-Click on Add- Then I have entered the following information. Title: Visual Studio 2008 Command Prompt Command: cmd.exe Arguments: %comspec% /k ""C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\vcvarsall.bat"" x86 Initial Directory: $(ProjectDir) Then OK/Apply: After this when I went to Tools Menu and click on Visual Studio 2008 Command Prompt, command prompt open but got the following error message: '"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\vcvarsall.bat"' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE Please somebody help me to fix this problem.. Or somebody teach me freshly how to add command prompt in Tools Menu manually in VS 2008 Express Edition. Thanks, Kumar

  • Back again to use Rails 2.3.5 from Rails 3

    Hi, Recently, I had seen information about Rails 3.0 beta and I had wanted to trial it. So I used gem update and installed this version. But now, I need to go back to Rails 2.3.5. How could I do it? I was thinking about this two solutions: Uninstalling Rails 3. I read that somebody removed Rails 3 by using gem uninstall but he came across some problems then. Did anyone try to remove it in this way? Using different versions Rails at the same time. Is it possible at all? It will resolve all my problems but I could find nothing about this issue in google.     I know the standard way of using the Null coalescing operator in C# is to set default values. string nobody = null; string somebody = "Bob Saget"; string anybody = ""; anybody = nobody ?? "Mr. T"; // returns Mr. T anybody = somebody ?? "Mr. T"; // returns "Bob Saget" But what else can ?? be used for? It doesn't seem as useful as the ternary operator, apart from being more concise and easier to read than: nobody = null; anybody = nobody == null ? "Bob Saget" : nobody; // returns Bob Saget So given that fewer even know about null coalescing operator... Have you used ?? for something else? Is ?? necessary, or should you just use the ternary operator (that most are familiar with)

    After learning about the Action delegate in C# I've been looking for ways I can best use it in my code. I came up with this pattern: Action<string> DoSomething = (lSomething) => { // Do something }; DoSomething("somebody"); DoSomething("someone"); DoSomething("somewhere"); If I were to have used a traditional loop, it would look something like this: List<string> lSomeList = new List<string>(); lSomeList.Add("somebody"); lSomeList.Add("someone"); lSomeList.Add("somewhere"); foreach (string lSomething in lSomeList) { // Do something } Are there any appreciable differences between the two? To me they look equally easy to understand and maintain, but are there some other criteria I might use to distinguish when one might be preferred over the other?

    Hi, I'm currently working on an Extension for Safari 5 and I want to run a listener function whenever Settings changes are made. Apple provides an example for that, but it doesn't work for me. I currently have this listener function in my global html file: function numberChanged() { if(event.key == "number") alert("Number has changed!"); } safari.self.addEventListener("change", numberChanged, false); I hope somebody can help me. Does somebody know what I'm doing wrong?

  • Configuration manager for PHP

    I am working on code re-factoring of configuration file loading part in PHP. Earlier I was using multiple 'ini' files but now I plan to go for single XML file which will be containing all configuration details of the project. Problem is, if somebody wants configuration file in ini or DB or anything else and not the default one (in this case XML), my code should handle that part. If somebody wants to go for other configuration option like ini, he will have to create ini file similar to my XML configuration file and my configuration manager should take care everything like parsing, storing in cache. For that I need a mechanism lets say proper interface for my configuration data where the underlying data store can be anything( XML, DB, ini etc) also I don't want it to be dependent on these underlying store and anytime in future this should be extensible to other file formats.

  • In Haskell, how can you sort a list of infinite lists of strings?

    So basically, if I have a (finite or infinite) list of (finite or infinite) lists of strings, is it possible to sort the list by length first and then by lexicographic order, excluding duplicates? A sample input/output would be: Input: [["a", "b",...], ["a", "aa", "aaa"], ["b", "bb", "bbb",...], ...] Output: ["a", "b", "aa", "bb", "aaa", "bbb", ...] I know that the input list is not a valid haskell expression but suppose that there is an input like that. I tried using merge algorithm but it tends to hang on the inputs that I give it. Can somebody explain and show a decent sorting function that can do this? If there isn't any function like that, can you explain why? In case somebody didn't understand what I meant by the sorting order, I meant that shortest length strings are sorted first AND if one or more strings are of same length then they are sorted using < operator.   • What is the best way to get support from microsoft developers [closed]

    I have a problem at my production web, that I am not able to solve. I am not able to reproduce the problem in stage or development. It only appears when the website is under heavy load. I think it is solvable if somebody who has a very good understanding of the internals of FormsAuthentication would have a look at it by logging into our system. It should be at least Scottgu! Somebody told me that Microsoft Premier Support is a good choice for this kind of problems. We have no MSDN subscription or other connection to microsoft that enables us to use MPS. Is there a way to get support on a incident base? Are there other ways to get this kind of support?   • PayPal IPN & ASP.NET MVC

    Hello - I have a strange problem that somebody can hopefully help me with. For a while now I have been using PayPal's IPN service for our website. In order to test it I have a port opened up on our firewall pointing to my machine. This has been working great with no problems at all. I recently upgraded to the RTM release of ASP.NET MVC and now things are not working. I can navigate to my IPN handler from the outside world so I know it's not my connection or a firewall issue. It simply refuses to recieve any PayPal IPN messages. I am puzzled why the page can be accessed yet the PayPal IPN server wont connect to it. I realize there could be a 1000 different reasons for this, but I am hoping somebody out there can point me in the right direction!

Can somebody tell me the correct way to do this or point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance EDIT here is the code to do it: $('input#tags').keypress(function() { $('#formcont').fadeIn('slow'); $('#next').hide('slow'); }); The only problem I've found is that my cursor no longer shows up in the text box. What am I doing wrong?
