  • powershell.exe tab completion - list alternatives?

    I've never really used PowerShell before, and playing with it a bit, it looks like it uses cmd.exe's style of tab completion (fill in the first likely candidate, and then you can use tab to cycle through other alternatives). I'd much prefer the way e.g. bash works, where if there are multiple candidates, it shows a list of them. Is there an easy way to turn this on, by any chance?

  • Choose Custom New Tab Pages in Chrome

    For most people the default New Tab Page in Chrome works perfectly well for their purposes. But if you would prefer to choose what opens in a new tab for yourself then you will definitely want to have a look at the “Define your own new tab!” extension for Google Chrome. Before Unless you are using a Speed Dial (or similar) extension each time you click on the “New Tab Button” you get the same old page. It would certainly be a lot more satisfying if you could choose custom webpage(s) to open as new tabs. After Once you have the extension installed the best thing to do is click on the “New Tab Button”. That will open up the “Options Page” where you can enter one or two custom website URLs of your choosing. Once you have your custom URLs entered click on “Save”. As soon as you click on the “New Tab Button” your new custom webpage(s) will open. If you chose two webpages the first choice will open focused on the “right side” instead of the “left”. Clicking on the “Home Button” will also open the webpage(s) that you chose. The webpage(s) that you chose will also open as your starting “Home Pages” each time that you start your browser. Conclusion If you have wanted to choose your own custom “New Tab Page” then this is the extension that you have been waiting for.   • Securing a license key with RSA key.

    Hello, it's late, I'm tired, and probably being quite dense.... I have written an application that I need to secure so it will only run on machines that I generate a key for. What I am doing for now is getting the BIOS serial number and generating a hash from that, I then am encrypting it using a XML RSA private key. I then sign the XML to ensure that it is not tampered with. I am trying to package the public key to decrypt and verify the signature with, but every time I try to execute the code as a different user than the one that generated the signature I get a failure on the signature. Most of my code is modified from sample code I have found since I am not as familiar with RSA encryption as I would like to be. Below is the code I was using and the code I thought I needed to use to get this working right... Any feedback would be greatly appreciated as I am quite lost at this point the original code I was working with was this, this code works fine as long as the user launching the program is the same one that signed the document originally... CspParameters cspParams = new CspParameters(); cspParams.KeyContainerName = "XML_DSIG_RSA_KEY"; cspParams.Flags = CspProviderFlags.UseMachineKeyStore; // Create a new RSA signing key and save it in the container. RSACryptoServiceProvider rsaKey = new RSACryptoServiceProvider(cspParams) { PersistKeyInCsp = true, }; This code is what I believe I should be doing but it's failing to verify the signature no matter what I do, regardless if it's the same user or a different one... RSACryptoServiceProvider rsaKey = new RSACryptoServiceProvider(); //Load the private key from xml file XmlDocument xmlPrivateKey = new XmlDocument(); xmlPrivateKey.Load("KeyPriv.xml"); rsaKey.FromXmlString(xmlPrivateKey.InnerXml); I believe this to have something to do with the key container name (Being a real dumbass here please excuse me) I am quite certain that this is the line that is both causing it to work in the first case and preventing it from working in the second case.... cspParams.KeyContainerName = "XML_DSIG_RSA_KEY"; Is there a way for me to sign/encrypt the XML with a private key when the application license is generated and then drop the public key in the app directory and use that to verify/decrypt the code? I can drop the encryption part if I can get the signature part working right. I was using it as a backup to obfuscate the origin of the license code I am keying from. Does any of this make sense?     I have an array $data fruit => apple, seat => sofa, etc. I want to loop through so that each key becomes type_key[0]['value'] so eg type_fruit[0]['value'] => apple, type_seat[0]['value'] => sofa, and what I thought would do this, namely foreach ($data as $key => $value) { # Create a new, renamed, key. $array[str_replace("/(.+)/", "type_$1[0]['value']", $key)] = $value; # Destroy the old key/value pair unset($array[$key]); } print_r($array); Doesn't work. How can I make it work? Also, I want everything to be in the keys (not the values) to be lowercase: is there an easy way of doing this too? Thanks.

    I have problems using Crypto++ to save a RSA public key (that I obtained loading a private key file in PKCS#8 format). When decoding the key, I always get a BERDecodeErr exception. Edit: Just to clarity <a-left> means Alt+Left Arrow. The important question here is what is difference between Left Alt and Right Alt from the perspective of keymappings in Vim?

    After doing some research, I found that I can quickly set configuration options using the gsettings command in the terminal, instead of installing dconf-editor or gconf-editor or CCSM. But we need the SCHEMA/PATH and KEY to set the value. Syntax is: gsettings set SCHEMA[:PATH] KEY VALUE For example to never auto-hide the launcher: gsettings set com.canonical.Unity2d.Launcher hide-mode 0 And, for windows not to overlap the launcher: gsettings set com.canonical.Unity2d.Launcher use-strut true So, where can I get a list of all the SCHEMA / PATH / KEY that can be set with gsettings? No, please don't suggest the gsettings list-keys command, because I don't know the possibly hundreds of schema available.

  • Excel and Tab Delimited Files Question

    I am encountering what I believe to be a strange issue with Excel (in this case, Excel 2007, but maybe also Excel 2003, but don't have access to it as I write this). I can reliably convert some server data over into a tab-delimited format (been doing this for years) and then open it using Excel - no issue. However, what seems to be happening is if I have an html <table inside one of the fields, it looks like Excel 2007 thinks it should be converting the table into rows and columns inside Excel (not what I want). As you might imagine, this throws off the entire spreadsheet. So question is, is there any way to set up excel to NOT do this (perhaps some setting in Excel that pertains to reading tab delimited files), or am I missing something? Thanks.

  • App disappears from Win7's ALT-TAB list sometimes

    I've been having some trouble with one of my Delphi 2010 projects lately. It seems that sometimes, when I have a form open as a modal dialog, the app stops showing up in the ALT-TAB list until I close the dialog. It's still in the Taskbar, but not in ALT-TAB, which means I can't switch to it without using the mouse. Running under Windows 7, 64-bit. Has anyone seen this before? Any idea what causes it and how to fix it?
