Essentially I have to; Run gpedit.msc Computer Configuration Windows Settings Security Settings Local Policies User Rights Assignment Double Click Change the system time Select Administrators Click Remove Click Add User or Group Type Administrator Click Check Names Type polling Click Check Names OK Apply OK Logoff I have to do this for a huge number of computers so is there a batch file I could run on each PC to do this? Your help would be very much appreciated. Best Regards

  • Configure users and groups for Git

    - by Peter Penzov
I want to create Git server on which every developer can commit code with his own linux account. The Git repository is initialized under the directory /opt/git_repo.git I created a group developers which owns the directory git_repo.git. Then I created three users which are part of the same group - DeA, DevB, DevC. I created a soft link into each developer home directory which points to the /opt/git_repo.git location. The problem is that when a user connects to the Git server and use the soft link to access the files he cannot do it. Can you help me what are the proper steps and commands to configure the repository?

  • using count and group by at the same select statement

    - by Stavros
Hello, I have an sql select query that has a group by. I want to count all the records after the group by statement. Is there a way for this directly from sql? For example, having a table with users I want to select the different towns and the total number of users select town, count(*) from user group by town I want to have a column with all the towns and another with the number of users in all rows.

  • MPI difference between Communicator and Group

    - by iamrohitbanga
I have read the definitions of these terms and my interpretation is that there is a one to one relation between a group and a communicator. A group is a set of processes which wish to communicate with each other and a communicator is an implementation for a group. Is this correct? Why have two different terms if this is so?

Where I got stuck is when I tried to make it more dynamic. The real life input has 6 attributes for each datapoint instead of 3, and the usecase requires the possibility to set the grouping parameters dynamically. I tried using parameters <xsl:param name="k1" select="'poiid'"/> <xsl:param name="k2" select="'period'"/> but passing them to the rest of the xslt is something that I can't get right. The code below doesn't work, but clarifies hopefully, what I'm looking for. <xsl:template match="result"> <xsl:for-each-group select="datapoint" group-by="@{$k1}"> <node type="{$k1}" id="@{$k1}"> <xsl:for-each select="current-group()"> <node type="{$k2}" id="@{$k2}" value="{@value}"/> </xsl:for-each> </node> </xsl:for-each-group> </xsl:template> Any help appreciated..

  • Cisco ASA: Allowing and Denying VPN Access based on membership to an AD group

    - by milkandtang
I have a Cisco ASA 5505 connecting to an Active Directory server for VPN authentication. Usually we'd restrict this to a particular OU, but in this case users which need access are spread across multiple OUs. So, I'd like to use a group to specify which users have remote access. I've created the group and added the users, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to deny users which aren't in that group. Right now, if someone connects they get assigned the correct group policy "companynamera" if they are in that group, so the LDAP mapping is working. However, users who are not in that group still authenticate fine, and their group policy becomes the LDAP path of their first group, i.e. CN=Domain Users,CN=Users,DC=example,DC=com, and then are still allowed access. How do I add a filter so that I can map everything that isn't "companynamera" to no access? Config I'm using (with some stuff such as ACLs and mappings removed, since they are just noise here): gateway# show run : Saved : ASA Version 8.2(1) ! hostname gateway domain-name corp.company-name.com enable password gDZcqZ.aUC9ML0jK encrypted passwd gDZcqZ.aUC9ML0jK encrypted names name 192.168.0.2 dc5 description FTP Server name 192.168.0.5 dc2 description Everything server name 192.168.0.6 dc4 description File Server name 192.168.0.7 ts1 description Light Use Terminal Server name 192.168.0.8 ts2 description Heavy Use Terminal Server name 4.4.4.82 primary-frontier name 5.5.5.26 primary-eschelon name 172.21.18.5 dmz1 description Kerio Mail Server and FTP Server name 4.4.4.84 ts-frontier name 4.4.4.85 vpn-frontier name 5.5.5.28 ts-eschelon name 5.5.5.29 vpn-eschelon name 5.5.5.27 email-eschelon name 4.4.4.83 guest-frontier name 4.4.4.86 email-frontier dns-guard ! • Domain users sometimes cannot access our NAS

    - by Natalie
I'm using a QNAP TS-410 Turbo NAS and I've got domain users connecting to it frequently everyday. However, there are times when their connection to the NAS will seem to just drop and, suddenly, they cannot access their network drives (which I had set up our Domain Controller to automatically map to folders on the NAS). Could you please tell me what may cause this? I don't think it is a network issue as everything else seems to work just fine. (If more details are needed, please let me know so I can update this question.)

  • SBUG --> UK Connected Systems User Group

    - by Michael Stephenson
Following a recent user group meeting we have decided that the UK SOA/BPM User Group will be renamed to the UK Connected Systems User Group.  The reasons for this are as follows: 1. Other user groups who cover the same topics as us are all called something similar 2. We feel the name change will help to increase user group membership The focus and topics of the user group will remain the same.

  • SCHA API for resource group failover / switchover history

    - by krishna.k.murthy
The Oracle Solaris Cluster framework keeps an internal log of cluster events, including switchover and failover of resource groups. These logs can be useful to Oracle support engineers for diagnosing cluster behavior. However, till now, there was no external interface to access the event history. Oracle Solaris Cluster 4.2 provides a new API option for viewing the recent history of resource group switchovers in a program-parsable format. Oracle Solaris Cluster 4.2 provides a new option tag argument RG_FAILOVER_LOG for the existing API command scha_cluster_get which can be used to list recent failover / switchover events for resource groups. The command usage is as shown below: # scha_cluster_get -O RG_FAILOVER_LOG number_of_days number_of_days : the number of days to be considered for scanning the historical logs. The command returns a list of events in the following format. Each field is separated by a semi-colon [;]: resource_group_name;source_nodes;target_nodes;time_stamp source_nodes: node_names from which resource group is failed over or was switched manually. target_nodes: node_names to which the resource group failed over or was switched manually. There is a corresponding enhancement in the C API function scha_cluster_get() which uses the SCHA_RG_FAILOVER_LOG query tag. In the example below geo-infrastructure (failover resource group), geo-clusterstate (scalable resource group), oracle-rg (failover resource group), asm-dg-rg (scalable resource group) and asm-inst-rg (scalable resource group) are part of Geographic Edition setup. # /usr/cluster/bin/scha_cluster_get -O RG_FAILOVER_LOG 3 geo-infrastructure;schost1c;;Mon Jul 21 15:51:51 2014 geo-clusterstate;schost2c,schost1c;schost2c;Mon Jul 21 15:52:26 2014 oracle-rg;schost1c;;Mon Jul 21 15:54:31 2014 asm-dg-rg;schost2c,schost1c;schost2c;Mon Jul 21 15:54:58 2014 asm-inst-rg;schost2c,schost1c;schost2c;Mon Jul 21 15:56:11 2014 oracle-rg;;schost2c;Mon Jul 21 15:58:51 2014 geo-infrastructure;;schost2c;Mon Jul 21 15:59:19 2014 geo-clusterstate;schost2c;schost2c,schost1c;Mon Jul 21 16:01:51 2014 asm-inst-rg;schost2c;schost2c,schost1c;Mon Jul 21 16:01:10 2014 asm-dg-rg;schost2c;schost2c,schost1c;Mon Jul 21 16:02:10 2014 oracle-rg;schost2c;;Tue Jul 22 16:58:02 2014 oracle-rg;;schost1c;Tue Jul 22 16:59:05 2014 oracle-rg;schost1c;schost1c;Tue Jul 22 17:05:33 2014 Note that in the output some of the entries might have an empty string in the source_nodes. Such entries correspond to events in which the resource group is switched online manually or during a cluster boot-up. Similarly, an empty destination_nodes list indicates an event in which the resource group went offline. - Arpit Gupta, Harish Mallya

  • Prevent registry changes by users

    - by graf_ignotiev
Background: I run a small computer lab of 10 computers using Windows 7 x64 Enterprise. Our users are set up as limited users. For additional restrictions, I set up local group policy for non-administrators using the microsoft management console. Problem: Recently, I found out that some of these restrictions had been removed. Reviewing the settings MMC and in ntuser.pol showed that the settings should still be in place. However, the related registry settings were missing in ntuser.dat. I already have registry editing disabled in the GPO (though not in silent mode). Question: What is the best way to deal with this situation? Should I look into preventing registry setting changes? Should I set up registry auditing to found out how these keys are getting changed in the first place? Or should I give up the ghost and write some kind of logon script that enforces registry values if they've been change? Any other ideas?

  • How to allow users to transfer files to other users on linux

    - by Jon Bringhurst
We have an environment of a few thousand users running applications on about 40 clusters ranging in size from 20 compute nodes to 98,000 compute nodes. Users on these systems generate massive files (sometimes 1PB) controlled by traditional unix permissions (ACLs usually aren't available or practical due to the specialized nature of the filesystem). We currently have a program called "give", which is a suid-root program that allows a user to "give" a file to another user when group permissions are insufficient. So, a user would type something like the following to give a file to another user: > give username-to-give-to filename-to-give ... The receiving user can then use a command called "take" (part of the give program) to receive the file: > take filename-to-receive The permissions of the file are then effectively transferred over to the receiving user. This program has been around for years and we'd like to revisit things from a security and functional point of view. Our current plan of action is to remove the bit rot in our current implementation of "give" and package it up as an open source app before we redeploy it into production. Does anyone have another method they use to transfer extremely large files between users when only traditional unix permissions are available?

  • Percentage function for a group based on another group.

    - by Jeff O
I have two grouping levels in a report. Group A can have a Percentage() of the entire report and so can Group B, but I would like to know the Percentage() of Group A of Group B. Even if I code it, it seems like once the inner and outer groups have created their footers, I can't go back to to the inner group and set it's value. Example: Group A Total 50 Group A percentage of Report Total = 33% Group A Percentage of Group B Total = 33% but I want 50% Group B Total 100 Group B Percentage of Report Total = 66% Report Total 150

  • How to use robocopy to move Users folder from partition c to d on Windows 7?

    - by Bastian
I just tried to copy my Users folder from partition C to partition D using the method mentioned in this post. Unfortunately I encountered two problems: When using the command robocopy c:\Users d:\Users /mir /xj /copyall, robocopy says that it can't find the file C:\Users\, although it exists. When using the command robocopy x:\Users d:\Users /mir /xj /copyall, robocopy says that it cannot find the path d:\Users\Administrator\Application Data, error code <0x00000003>. I started the command line mode of my Windows 7 installation disk (repair mode). Does anybody know what the reasons for these errors might be?

I'll express what I'm trying to achieve programatically I can get this far: ctx.Followers.Where(f => f.FollowedID == CurrentUser.ID) so now i have a Followers set where I have the ID of the users that follow the CurrentUser, and I could iterate through this collection and then add users after each iteration to a collection that would be a total USER collection that followed CurrentUser, but isn't there a smarter, or LINQ'er way to do this? Much appreciated Thx

  • Should users be deleted after inactivity on a website?

    - by Hovaness Bartamian
When you have a social website or a website where you can register, would you eventually delete them after a certain time (after a year of inactivity) or would you rather keep their account records for ever? I know websites like Facebook have large amount of inactive, duplicated and fake accounts. So I'm wondering if after two years of inactivity it would be alright to send the account a warning email of deletion unless they log in. Just thinking of a clean and efficient database management or any implications this may cause to new potential users.

  • Sinatra and XML POST request

    - by user292815
    I don't know is it my mistake or no. So i have that code: <code> post '/singin/get_token' do content_type :xml puts request.body.read puts xmlRequest xmlRequest = REXML::Document.new(request.body.read) ... </code> And when i post something like that: <code> <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?><request xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"><username>adsfasdf</username></request> </code> I receive that in my console: <code> 127.0.0.1 - - [12/Mar/2010 21:18:20] "POST /singin/get_token HTTP/1.1"   • Exception with RubyAMF and Ruby 1.9 although code works

    - by Tam
I'm getting an exception with RubyAMF using Ruby 1.9 and Rails 2.3.5. Although code afterward executes normally I'm not very comfortable with seeing such exception in the log file. Do you know what is causing it: >>>>>>>> RubyAMF >>>>>>>>> #<RubyAMF::Actions::PrepareAction:0x0000010139ff48> took: 0.00020 secs >>>>>>>> RubyAMF >>>>>>>>> #<RubyAMF::Actions::RailsInvokeAction:0x0000010139ff10> took: 0.29973 secs You have a nil object when you didn't expect it! You might have expected an instance of Array. • Group Policy error 1006 with and error code 52

    - by Bernesto
I have a hyper-v cluster operating on win2k8 R2 in a 2003 forest. These servers are at our NOC with a DC that connects to our PDC at HQ via a persistent VPN. The cluster boxes are reporting a error event ID 1006 shown below. The DC is also reporting an error 5805 also shown below. I have found numorus posts regarding 1006 errors, but none for error ID 52's. It's weird, I can ping and I can browse network shares on the DC from each. I thought maybe a DNS or net work issue, but nslook up works too. Event 1006 <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> <System> <Provider Name="Microsoft-Windows-GroupPolicy" Guid="{AEA1B4FA-97D1-45F2-A64C-4D69FFFD92C9}" /> <EventID>1006</EventID> <Version>0</Version> <Level>2</Level> <Task>0</Task> <Opcode>1</Opcode> <Keywords>0x8000000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2013-12-17T00:08:19.582292600Z" /> <EventRecordID>41808</EventRecordID> <Correlation ActivityID="{26B10592-6228-4A3E-845B-E04B49702A54}" /> <Execution ProcessID="964" ThreadID="1384" /> <Channel>System</Channel> <Computer>NEOREEFVH1.neoreef.com</Computer> <Security UserID="S-1-5-18" /> </System> <EventData> <Data Name="SupportInfo1">1</Data> <Data Name="SupportInfo2">5012</Data> <Data Name="ProcessingMode">0</Data> <Data Name="ProcessingTimeInMilliseconds">1138</Data> <Data Name="ErrorCode">52</Data> <Data Name="ErrorDescription">Unavailable</Data> <Data Name="DCName" /> </EventData> </Event> Event 5805 Event Type: Error Event Source: NETLOGON Event Category: None Event ID: 5805 Date: 12/16/2013 Time: 2:32:01 PM User: N/A Computer: NEOREEFSRV15 Description: The session setup from the computer NEOREEFVH3 failed to authenticate. • Printer deployment via Group Policy not working on a single system

    - by Aron Rotteveel
One of my coworkers just got a new laptop running Windows 7 Pro x64. We use a GPO to deploy the printers to every system, but for some reason it is not working on this system. I have been breaking my head over this for the past 3 hours now without any result. The strange thing is that gpresult /H seems to indicate that the GPO did run. The hardware: Laptop: Windows 7 Professional x64 Print server: Windows Server 2008 x64 R1 HP Color LaserJet 2605dn HP LaserJet P2015 Driver packages on server: HP universal printer driver PCL5, both X86 as X64 Oddities and other info: GPO working flawlessly on every other system, including my own Windows 7 Ultimate X64 laptop gpresult /H shows the GPO being ran Windows Firewall completely disabled on the new laptop Below is the output for gpresult /H (in Dutch sadly, but I think you'll recognize it): Beleidsregels Windows-instellingen Printerverbindingen Pad Dominerend groepsbeleidsobject \\Server2008\HP Color LaserJet 2605dn Printers \\Server2008\HP LaserJet P2015 Printers Beheersjablonen Beleidsdefinities (ADMX-bestanden) opgehaald van de lokale computer. Configuratiescherm/Printers Beleid Instelling Dominerend groepsbeleidsobject Beperkingen van point-and-print Uitgeschakeld Printers Like I said, I have been trying to figure this out for the past few hours or so without any result, so you are my last hope. Any help is appreciated.

  • No "Terminal Services" branch in "Group Policy Object Editor"

    - by ayavilevich
Hi, We have several identical several servers in a hosting company. They run Windows 2003 R2 Std SP2 64bit. The servers are not in a domain. We have recently received a new server with the same configuration and hardware. However, the new server is different in some way. When we run "gpedit.msc /s" there are much less options in the tree than the other servers. Specifically we are missing the configuration of "Terminal Services". Many other items are missing under "Administrative templates" and "Windows components". Screenshot of correct server: (can't post link due to SF policy) Screenshot of new server: http://img686.imageshack.us/img686/572/gpowindowscomponentstp5.png What should we try? Thanks, Arik.
