• XNA GUI: Creating a 'scroll pane' widget

  I'm trying to create a simple GUI system and am currently stuck on how to implement a textarea with a scrollbar. In other words, the text is too large to fit into the view area. I want to learn how to do this, so I'd rather not use an already rolled API. I believe this could be done if the text were part of a texture, but if the game had a lot of unique dialog, this seems expensive. I researched creating a texture on the fly and writing to it, but came up with nothing. Any suggested strategies would be appreciated. I believe it boils down to: text in a texture and how? Or something I have not thought of...

• There is no two finger scroll option in my "Mouse and Touchpad" settings

  I simply do not have the option for "two-finger scrolling" available in my "Mouse and Touchpad" settings. I have tried a lot of terminal commands that I have found in the forums with no success. • Alt Key + Mouse Scroll is the New Text Zoom In/Out in NetBeans

  When the text zoom in/out, via "Ctrl Key + Mouse Wheel", was introduced in editors in a recent version of NetBeans IDE, many people cheered. Others booed because the combination "Ctrl Key + Mouse Wheel" is often pressed accidentally, especially when the user scrolls in the editor while intending to use some Ctrl shortcut, such as paste, which is Ctrl-v. So, in NetBeans IDE 7.2, the text zoom in/out is now "Alt Key + Mouse Wheel": http://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=212484 Remember that the text change only persists for as long as the file is open. So, if you've accidentally resized the text (i.e., in the current situation, prior to 7.2, where unintended side effects may happen because of Ctrl key usage), you can just close the file and reopen it to get the text size back to the way it was before.

The header will supplant the main header in order to be visible as the user travels down the page. In IE it looks fine but I can't get it right in Firefox (always at the top of the "mess" div) I tried with display: inline,display: table-cell for "rpl" DIV but with no effect in FF. Is there any solution for vertical align for DIV in FF?

• Open a buffer as a vertical split in VIM

  If you are editing a file in VIM and then you need to open an existing buffer (e.g. from your buffer list: :buffers) how can you open it in a vertical split? I know that you already can open it with a normal split like: :sbuffer N Wehere N is the buffer number you want, however, the above opens that N buffer horizontally, not vertically. I'm also aware that you can change the window placement after opening and have a Vertical Split like so: Ctrl-W H Ctrl-W L Which will vertically split the window to the right or the left. It seems to me that if there is a sbuffer there should be a vsbuffer but that doesn't exist (not that I am aware of) Also, please note that I am not looking for a plugin to solve this question. I know about a wealth of plugins that will allow you to do this. I am sure I might be missing something that is already there. EDIT: In the best spirit of collaboration, I have created a simple Function with a Mapping if someone else stumbles across this issue and do not want to install a plugin: Function: " Vertical Split Buffer Function function VerticalSplitBuffer(buffer) execute "vert belowright sb" a:buffer endfunction Mapping: " Vertical Split Buffer Mapping command -nargs=1 Vbuffer call VerticalSplitBuffer(<f-args>) This accomplishes the task of opening a buffer in a right split, so for buffer 1, you would call it like: :Vbuffer 1

  Is it possible to make the Synaptics Touchpad driver emulate a mouse wheel when scrolling? I can use the touch pad to scroll in Windows Explorer just fine but VMware does not support it. The mouse cursor changes to indicate that scrolling is active but the VMware guest will not respond to it. Since VMware supports the scroll wheel I am looking for a workaround.   I have a brother mfc-5440cn and tried to adjust the vertical alignment with the result that the printing quality now is very poor. The printer prints a small schadow next to each letter :-( I tried to re-adjust the alignment, but for the 600dpi settings, there is no pattern that matches the 0-pattern (you know what I mean when you've once adjsuted a brother printer :-) Is there a way to make a factory reset?

• BlackBerry Storm - Cannot scroll vertically while in TreeField

  I am having issues performing a vertical scroll on the BlackBerry Storm while in a TreeField. The tree nodes expand just fine, even with expanded nodes while in the tree I cannot scroll to the bottom of the expanded list. Sometimes it will scroll a little but then not allow me to scroll back up. Could this be an issue with the screen not being a fixed size? The TreeField is in a VeriticalFieldManager with the VERTICAL_SCROLL and VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR styles. The screen I am using is MainScreen.

  I am trying to create a MainScreen with vertical scrolling. From what I've read in the documentation, MainScreen has a VerticalManager inside, so it should be possible to enable vertical scrolling only with proper construction, i.e: super(MainScreen.VERTICAL_SCROLL | MainScreen.VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR); This is not working for me, however. I am creating a screen, adding a couple of LabelFields and no scrollbar, no scrolling at all. I am testing on 8900, OS 5.0.   I've got a ListView control in Details mode with a single column. It's on a form that is meant to only be used with the keyboard, mostly with the up/down arrows for scrolling and enter to select. So I don't really need to have the scroll bars and would just like them to not show for a cleaner look. However, when I set the ListView.Scrollable property to false, I can still move the selected item up and down, but as soon as it moves to an item not currently in view, the list won't move to show that item. I've tried using EnsureVisible to programmatically scroll the list, but it does nothing when in this mode. Is there any way to manually move the list up and down to scroll, but without having the scrollbar present?

  Hello I have a panel in wich I do a bounch af rater complex drawing in the paint event. Since the drawing-code is kind of heavy, it gets rather twitchy when I scroll the panel, since the paint event is raised in such short intervals. My question is really this; Can i capture evnts such as "on scroll start" and "on scroll end" on a winforms control? If so, I could then just pause the drawing-code until the scroll is complete.
