  • Prefork or Worker MPM for amazon xlarge server?

    I'm trying to measure would it be better to have prefork or worker mpm apache module for the server I'm working on, which is Amazon X-Large 15 GB memory 8 EC2 Compute Units (4 virtual cores with 2 EC2 Compute Units each) and that will run a Magento website with about 50 active users at once. Site serves a lot of images and about 45 requests per page. Images sometimes hang, so it seems worker would be a better option? Thanks

  • Luns not taken by the windows server admin

    I have a scenario based question...Something , I haven't faced till now ,but i would be interested to know the answer. If i have assigned a luns (say, of 50 GB) and put them in storage group.However, the windows server team did not grab that lun but sent an acknowledgment saying the Luns are alingned. I would like to know what will happen to the Luns that belong to the SG ..in my opinion they will remain in the SG as unassigned Luns ..or is there a possibility that the lUns will move back to the storage.

    I'm interested in any software, experience or guidelines listed that help to deal with listing installed services, their primary user (or business person that is responsible for this service), domain names, ip addresses, ports in your servers. Servers are both Windows and Linux, so licenses are also good to track with all of this information. Scale of the infrastructure in question - 20-50 servers. Currently we have no better idea as to use Excel for it.

  • No output in Linux Keyboard Logger running in VirtualBox

    I'm trying to run LKL (Linux Keyboard Logger) in a Ubuntu 9.04 VirtualBox VM (VirtualBox 2.2.2 running on a XP host). The package installs fine, but when I try to run it lkl -l -k /usr/share/lkl/keymaps/us_km -o ./kbd.log & it hogs the CPU usage to 50% and never logs a keystroke (in fact the kbd.log file is never created) Any clues? TIA

Is my server being used to send spam?

I usually have to keep them on the lowest setting. If the source material is louder than average, I have to lower the output volume in the player software.     Memcache is the only important app running on the server Server has 16 cores and 144G RAM Memcache is given 135G Memcache runs at 32 threads Gigabit network, test shows at least 300Mbit/s availability on network port 600 connections 3000 requests per second Say that memcache (memory) usage is at 50% - it's definitely not full As we increase number of requests towards server, requests slow down (from 8ms to 100ms per request) but server load remains 0.00. We suspect this can be solved by adjusting configuration but we don't understand many of the configuration parameters (besides, maybe, the number of threads). Any ideas?

  • Uninstalling a program which uninstaller doesn't work

    I recently accidentally deleted my appdata folder, so 50% of the programs went mad, including Aptana Studio. When I looked for the uninstaller, I started it, and the "Uninstall from here:" field was empty. I clicked uninstall anyway, but it did nothing. So basically now I can't uninstall it and make a fresh install. I can't delete the files manually because the settings will stay, and the fresh install will be loading them and not working either.

I was wondering, how does one make MikroTIK recognise internal domain names for this IPs? Right now, the WebApp works fine and can be used by entering 192.168.3.150/app/ But since most people have difficulties entering IPs I was wondering if i could do smth like : myroom.lan would be just as you typed 192.168.3.150

This is what I probably need to setup: external_ip (tcp port 4444) -> DNAT -> 192.168.122.50 (tcp port 22) I know it's easily do'able using a SOHO router but can't figure out how can I do that on a Linux box.   • Affordable Wireless Speakers For the Whole House?

    Does anyone know of any affordable speakers that you can hook up to a HTPC\Media Center and then take the speakers anywhere around the house to listen to them? Basically, what I've found has either been headphones that do this or wireless speakers that site on the desktop. Affordable to me would be $50-100.
