• Getting Values from fetched Core Data

  Hi there, Thanks to the wonderful people on this forum, I have overcome most of my Core Data woes. However one persists, and I'm certain it is a simple fix. I have a recipe app that parses an XML doc on load and puts the data in Core Data. Then I search that Core Data for particular recipes, ingredients, etc. Everything is working with one exception... I cannot do anything with the data I retrieve. For example, I search the core data for "eggplant" and get this at the end of the process: "<RecipeData: 0x6112a40> (entity: RecipeData; id: 0x6113880 <x-coredata:///RecipeData/tCDE9A0EE-DA3F-4BD0-AEF8-3C038586991D4> ; data: {\n ingredients = \"Eggplant|Cheese|Tomatoes|\";\n name = \"Eggplant Parm\";\n time = 40;\n})" How do I get the info out of there? I tried looping through, but that causes the app to crash: for (NSString* key in selectedRecipe) { id value = [selectedRecipe objectForKey:key]; NSLog(@"IN LOOP: %@", value); } Any suggestions? • SetMatrix() does not copy all values to HLSL

  Hi, I want to use the contents of a vector of D3DXMatrices to my shader. m_pLightMatrices->SetMatrixArray(&currentLightMatrices[0].m[0][0],0,numLights); As we know the internals of a vector this poses no problems (as it is just a dynamic array). Now when I access this matrix in hlsl to fill up a struct I get this strange behavior: struct LightTest { float3 LightPos; float LightRange; float4 LightDiffuse; float3 LightAtt; }; float4x4 currentLight = gLights[0]; LightTest lt; lt.LightPos = currentLight._m00_m01_m02; //{0,0,0} lt.LightDiffuse = currentLight[1].rgba; //{0,0,0,0} lt.LightRange = currentLight._m03; //this gives me a value lt.LightAtt = currentLight[2].xyz; //{0,0,0} While debugging I see that my matrix is nicely filled with the variables I want. When I try to hardcode check what is in the struct I get all zero's, except the LightRange. As you can see I tried different methods of accessing the float4x4 but without any other results. Why oh why is hlsl not copying all my variables ?

  Hello, I was trying to create a custom field type similar to lookup column just mine is filtered lookup column.Its working fine but I wanted to implement the same functionality like lookup column does,by that I mean: For e.g lookup column is having title of some list so it stores its value as SPListiem.ID#;title....but it shows only title when we r selecting or editing value in it. I am using listboxes and doing listbox.Items.Add(title); but how to get Id also and specially hidden from users like lookup column does....means I can do like this... listbox.Items.Add(title+"#;" + SPListitem.ID)... but I dont want this.... Any idea how to achieve this...

  I have an array as follows array(2) { ["operator"] => array(2) { ["qty"] => int(2) ["id"] => int(251) } ["accessory209"] => array(2) { ["qty"] => int(1) ["id"] => int(209) } ["accessory211"] => array(2) { ["qty"] => int(1) ["id"] => int(211) } } I'm trying to find a way to verify an id value exists within the array and return bool. I'm trying to figure out a quick way that doesn't require creating a loop. Using the in_array function did not work, and I also read that it is quite slow. In the php manual someone recommended using flip_array() and then isset(), but I can't get it to work for a 2-d array. doing something like if($array['accessory']['id'] == 211) would also work for me, but I need to match all keys containing accessory -- not sure how to do that Anyways, I'm spinning in circles, and could use some help. This seems like it should be easy. Thanks.

  Let's say in Perl I have a list of hash references, and each is required to contain a certain field, let's say foo. I want to create a list that contains all the mappings of foo.   I'm trying to add elements to an array after subsequent trials, but so far only one value is being added to the array. I've Googled and searched stackoverflow, and I seem to be getting only half the picture unless if I'm implementing it wrong. There are about 40 files, which will be needed to be submited one after another, and then a value from each trial is stored in the database.   I'm working on a model for a simple fishing competition and I have some issues with my design. The main class for the fishing game is Capture and it looks like this: public class Capture : Entity { public virtual int Weight { get; set; } public virtual int Length { get; set; } public virtual DateTime DateForCapture { get; set; } public virtual User CapturedBy { get; set; } public virtual Species Species { get; set; } } So far there´s no problem but I'm not really sure how to model the game. Every Species is connected to a reference weight that changes from year to year The number of point for a capture is its Weight divided by the current reference weight for the species. One way to solve the problem is to connect a capture to SpeciesReferenceWeight instead of Species public class SpeciesReferenceWeight : Entity { public virtual Species Species { get; set; } public virtual int ReferenceWeight { get; set; } public virtual int Year { get; set; } } But in that way that Capture is connected to the implementation details of the game and from my point of view a capture is still a capture even if it's not included in a game. The result I'm aiming for is like: http://hornalen.net/fishbonkern/2007/ that I wrote a couple of years ago with brute force sql and no domain model. I would be very happy for all kinds of feeback on this issue.

• MVC3 application I want javascript methods to fire on passed in route values

  I have an MVC3 application in Visual Studio 2010. I have a view with several dropdowns that do javascript calls to populate dropdowns based on the selected value, some of which are disabled initially. That all works great with the initial state of nothing. If I however pass routevalues to the dropdowns from a redirect to this action, I do get the value set correctly but it's not enabled like it should be on the dropdown for example and when I post the form, the ones that are greyed out are not passed back on the form. How can I correct this?

  I understand how declared properties work - I just need a clarification on when Objective C is using the accessor method vs. when it is not. Say I have a property declared using retain: @property (nonatomic, retain) NSDate *date; ... and later... @synthesize date If I say: date = x Is that calling the accessor method? Or is it just setting the variable? self.date = x This seems to call the accessor method (I think but I'm not sure, since it seems like the retain count is increasing). Can anyone clarify this issue? I'm curious because i have some variables that seem to become invalid before I need them (and I have to specifically call retain), and I suspect this is why.

Now the given function prints out the (previously calculated) checksum on screen, but I want to store it in a variable, to be able to compare it later on.   I have a need to design a system to track users memberships to groups with varying roles (currently three). class Group < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :memberships has_many :users, :through => :memberships end class Role < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :memberships has_many :users, :through => :memberships end class Membership < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :user belongs_to :role belongs_to :group end class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :memberships has_many :groups, :through => :memberships end Ideally what I want is to simply set @group.users << @user and have the membership have the correct role. I can use :conditions to select data that has been manually inserted as such : :conditions => ["memberships.grouprole_id= ? ", Grouprole.find_by_name('user')] But when creating the membership to the group the grouprole_id is not being set. Is there a way to do this as at present I have a somewhat repetitive piece of code for each user role in my Group model.
