• Getting Values from fetched Core Data

  Hi there, Thanks to the wonderful people on this forum, I have overcome most of my Core Data woes. However one persists, and I'm certain it is a simple fix. I have a recipe app that parses an XML doc on load and puts the data in Core Data. Then I search that Core Data for particular recipes, ingredients, etc. Everything is working with one exception... I cannot do anything with the data I retrieve. For example, I search the core data for "eggplant" and get this at the end of the process: "<RecipeData: 0x6112a40> (entity: RecipeData; id: 0x6113880 <x-coredata:///RecipeData/tCDE9A0EE-DA3F-4BD0-AEF8-3C038586991D4> ; data: {\n ingredients = \"Eggplant|Cheese|Tomatoes|\";\n name = \"Eggplant Parm\";\n time = 40;\n})" How do I get the info out of there? I tried looping through, but that causes the app to crash: for (NSString* key in selectedRecipe) { id value = [selectedRecipe objectForKey:key]; NSLog(@"IN LOOP: %@", value); } Any suggestions? • MVC3 application I want javascript methods to fire on passed in route values

  I have an MVC3 application in Visual Studio 2010. I have a view with several dropdowns that do javascript calls to populate dropdowns based on the selected value, some of which are disabled initially. That all works great with the initial state of nothing. If I however pass routevalues to the dropdowns from a redirect to this action, I do get the value set correctly but it's not enabled like it should be on the dropdown for example and when I post the form, the ones that are greyed out are not passed back on the form. How can I correct this?

  I have a decimal variable which represents a donation amount. Currently I am displaying it on screen as a currency like so- DonationAmount.ToString("C"); This gives the following output (given a US locale) 1 -> $1.00 2 -> $2.00 0.5 -> $0.50 I am happy with the first two example, but want to have "0.5" show as "50c". My current solution is with a conditional- if (DonationAmount > 1) return (DonationAmount * 100m).ToString() + "c"; else return DonationAmount.ToString("C"); Is there a better way?

  I'm trying to add elements to an array after subsequent trials, but so far only one value is being added to the array. I've Googled and searched stackoverflow, and I seem to be getting only half the picture unless if I'm implementing it wrong. There are about 40 files, which will be needed to be submited one after another, and then a value from each trial is stored in the database. Is there a way to open the ORDER file I made in the first sub without having to make $name not local? Or just a way to write in this file? I really don't know how to start here. • An array with values 4 days apart

  I have a piece of code that generates soccer/football fixtures. The idea is that for every round of fixtures, the date will be 4 days further than the last round. So round one will be 3rd may, round two will be 7th may, round three 11th may, etc. I am not sure how to do this? The code that currently makes the fixtures are as follows: $totalRounds = $teams - 1; $matchesPerRound = $teams / 2; $rounds = array(); for ($i = 0; $i < $totalRounds; $i++) { $rounds[$i] = array(); } for ($round = 0; $round < $totalRounds; $round++) { for ($match = 0; $match < $matchesPerRound; $match++) { $home = ($round + $match) % ($teams - 1); $away = ($teams - 1 - $match + $round) % ($teams - 1); // Last team stays in the same place while the others // rotate around it. if ($match == 0) { $away = $teams - 1; } $rounds[$round][$match] = "$user[$home]~$team[$home]@$user[$away]~$team[$away]"; } } The teams would be the total users in the league.   Hi, I want to use the contents of a vector of D3DXMatrices to my shader. m_pLightMatrices->SetMatrixArray(&currentLightMatrices[0].m[0][0],0,numLights); As we know the internals of a vector this poses no problems (as it is just a dynamic array). Now when I access this matrix in hlsl to fill up a struct I get this strange behavior: struct LightTest { float3 LightPos; float LightRange; float4 LightDiffuse; float3 LightAtt; }; float4x4 currentLight = gLights[0]; LightTest lt; lt.LightPos = currentLight._m00_m01_m02; //{0,0,0} lt.LightDiffuse = currentLight[1].rgba; //{0,0,0,0} lt.LightRange = currentLight._m03; //this gives me a value lt.LightAtt = currentLight[2].xyz; //{0,0,0} While debugging I see that my matrix is nicely filled with the variables I want. When I try to hardcode check what is in the struct I get all zero's, except the LightRange. As you can see I tried different methods of accessing the float4x4 but without any other results. Why oh why is hlsl not copying all my variables ?

  I'm working on a model for a simple fishing competition and I have some issues with my design. The main class for the fishing game is Capture and it looks like this: public class Capture : Entity { public virtual int Weight { get; set; } public virtual int Length { get; set; } public virtual DateTime DateForCapture { get; set; } public virtual User CapturedBy { get; set; } public virtual Species Species { get; set; } } So far there´s no problem but I'm not really sure how to model the game. Every Species is connected to a reference weight that changes from year to year The number of point for a capture is its Weight divided by the current reference weight for the species. One way to solve the problem is to connect a capture to SpeciesReferenceWeight instead of Species public class SpeciesReferenceWeight : Entity { public virtual Species Species { get; set; } public virtual int ReferenceWeight { get; set; } public virtual int Year { get; set; } } But in that way that Capture is connected to the implementation details of the game and from my point of view a capture is still a capture even if it's not included in a game.   I am reading a txt file for strings that represent integers. The file is space delimited. I have created an array[10,2]. Everytime the strings 1~10 is found in the file I increment array[n,0] by 1. I also feed array[n,1] with numbers 1~10. i.e. txt file contents: 1/1/1 10/1/2001 1 1 10 2 2 3 1 5 10 word word 3 3 etc.. streamreader reads 1/1/1 and determines that is is not 1~10 streamreader reads 10/1/2001 and determines that it is not 1~10 streamreader reads 1 and ++array[0,0] streamreader reads 1 and ++array[0,0] streamreader reads 10 and ++array[9,0] etc.. The result will be: '1' was found 3 times '2' was found 2 times '3' was found 3 times '5' was found 1 time '10' was found 2 times My problem is that I need this array placed in order(sorted) by value of column 0 so that it would be: 1 3 2 10 5

Now the given function prints out the (previously calculated) checksum on screen, but I want to store it in a variable, to be able to compare it later on.
