• jqtouch - panels appear on page, class="back" not working in Safari

  I'm trying to get a demo working that was used in J. Stark's webinar on Safari Books Online (still available for viewing). I think I've followed the code example correctly, but the class="back" objects used to return from the "blog", "contacts", "settings" and "about" panels do not work, though the correct address shows in the nav area at the base of the browser window when I hover the mouse over the respective link. The panels-- which should slide in and out when called by their respective class"arrow" elements-- appear on the main page, nor do they animate correctly. Browser is Safari 5.0.3(6533.19.4); jquery-1.3.2; jqtouch freshly downloaded from the jqt website. Obviously I'm missing something simple. Didn't want to impose on your server, so the URL for jqtouch.min.css points to a version on my server @ fastermac.net. There's something further amiss, I believe. On load, page still shows the elements that should be invisible until called by clicking class="arrow" elements. Animations not yet wiggling. Did get them to wiggle at one point, but "flip," for instance, landed then on a black page-- not the targeted panel. Probably something obvious, but I'm missing it after some considerable due diligence. Again, thanks for your note. Any further illumination would be sincerely appreciated.

• Batch insert mode with hibernate and oracle: seems to be dropping back to slow mode silently

  I'm trying to get a batch insert working with Hibernate into Oracle, according to what i've read here: http://docs.jboss.org/hibernate/core/3.3/reference/en/html/batch.html , but with my benchmarking it doesn't seem any faster than before. Can anyone suggest a way to prove whether hibernate is using batch mode or not? I hear that there are numerous reasons why it may silently drop into normal mode (eg associations and generated ids) so is there some way to find out why it has gone non-batch? My hibernate.cfg.xml contains this line which i believe is all i need to enable batch mode: <property name="jdbc.batch_size">50</property> My insert code looks like this: List<LogEntry> entries = ..a list of 100 LogEntry data classes... Session sess = sessionFactory.getCurrentSession(); for(LogEntry e : entries) { sess.save(e); } sess.flush(); sess.clear(); My 'logentry' class has no associations, the only interesting field is the id: @Entity @Table(name="log_entries") public class LogEntry { @Id @GeneratedValue public Long id; ..other fields - strings and ints... However, since it is oracle, i believe the @GeneratedValue will use the sequence generator. And i believe that only the 'identity' generator will stop bulk inserts. So if anyone can explain why it isn't running in batch mode, or how i can find out for sure if it is or isn't in batch mode, or find out why hibernate is silently dropping back to slow mode, i'd be most grateful. • I need to sort the facets that come back from SOLR by relevancy

  I have within my SOLR index song objects which belong to a higher level album object. An example is shown below: <song> <album title>Blood Sugar Sex Magic</album title> <song title>Under the Bridge</song title> <description>A sad song about junkies</description> </song> What I can do at the moment is create a facet on the album title so that a search on songs will also show me what albums contain hits for that keyword. The default behaviour for SOLR is that the facets are shown in the order of most hits to least. However what I want to achieve is the facet list to be sorted according to the relevancy of the top hit for that album. For example a search on the word "sad" may show a facet with one hit for "Blood Sugar Sex Magic" and there may also be an album called "Sad Clown songs" where there are 10 hits. "Sad clown songs" will show as the first facet even though it may be that "Under the bridge" comes up as the most relevant song. My question is how can I get all the facets back but then have them ordered by the relevancy of the songs within them? If I would need to change or extend some underlying SOLR code what would that be? Thanks in advance.

• Tab Content Does Not Refresh After First Click of Like Button

  I've implemented a very simple "like guard" for a facebook tab, and am running into an issue with my test users. Multiple testers are reporting that when they open a tab and click the "like" button, they do not always get a page refresh (so the like guard does not disappear until they do a manual reload). This is using facebook's like button at the top of the page, not one I've coded up myself. As a sanity check, I enabled some simple logging on my server and have been able to recreate the issue - I hit "like" or "unlike" but there seems to be no request made to my index.php page, so definitely no refresh happening. I'm aware of this old bug https://developers.facebook.com/bugs/228778937218386 but this one seems different. For starters, after the first click of the "like" button, if I just continue clicking unlike/like/.... then the refresh happens automatically, as expected. What's especially weird is that if I reload the page after the first failed refresh, the refreshes start working again as expected, ie the first update to my like status triggers a page refresh. Some possibly (?) relevant info: My Tab is part of a test page, and is unpublished I am only using http hosting for the tab content, since my https isn't set up yet So far I've just tested with other admins - so maybe user role affects this? Curious to see if anyone has run into this issue before.

• Fragments keep going back to the default position when MapView is Zoomed In/Out

  I have an activity with 3 fragments displayed, a MapActivity, a ListActivity, and a (normal) DetailsActivity. The ListActivity and DetailsActivity is placed over the MapActivity. There's a function to hide both ListActivity and DetailsActivity with an Animation, and onAnimationEnd() I set a new layout for the hidden Activity. The problem I'm facing is, everytime one of the ListActivity or DetailsActivity hidden (picture State 2), and then I pinch the screen on the MapActivity to zoom the map, it always goes back to the default view (picture State 1). The closed Activities are automatically opened again.   I have a javascript where I need to hide (and eventually show) some text by clicking a button. However, when I click the button, it does not call the function specified in the onclick parameter, and so nothing happens. • UIButton title disappears on touch

  I want a touchable UILabel, but since that's not possible I decided to create a UIButton of type UIButtonTypeCustom. It looks how I want it to look, but when I touch it, the title disappears. I tried setting the title for state UIControlStateHighlighted but that didn't help. I know I'm doing something really silly here, but can't figure it out. I tried a few things (commented in the code below) which didn't seem to help. • Prevent Activity from saving state when user selects back button

  I have an Activity with a list that is bound to a ListAdapter reading data into a ArrayList from a database. All is well when the data is first loaded. While the Activity is open and the list is being displayed it is possible and likely that the data in the database will be updated by a service but the list does not reflect the changes because the ArrayList does not know about the changes. If the Activity is no longer in the foreground as would be the case if the user goes to the home screen and then is brought back to the foreground I would like for the Activity to not display what it did prior but rather reload the data using the ListAdapter the view is bound to. I think something needs to call finish() but I am not sure what. • Time fields in Rails coming back blank

  I have a simple Rails 3.b1 (Ruby 1.9.1) application running on Sqlite3. I have this table: create_table :time_tests do |t| t.time :time end And I see this behavior: irb(main):001:0> tt = TimeTest.new => #<TimeTest id: nil, time: nil> irb(main):002:0> tt.time = Time.zone.now => Mon, 03 May 2010 20:13:21 UTC +00:00 irb(main):003:0> tt.save => true irb(main):004:0> TimeTest.find(:first) => #<TimeTest id: 1, time: "2000-01-01 20:13:21"> So, the time is coming back blank. Checking the table, the data looks OK: sqlite> select * from time_tests; 1|2010-05-03 20:13:21.774741 I guess it's on the retrieval part? What's going on here?

• C++ ulong to class method pointer and back

  Hi guys, I'm using a hash table (source code by Google Inc) to store some method pointers defined as: typedef Object *(Executor::*expression_delegate_t)( vframe_t *, Node * ); Where obviously "Executor" is the class. The function prototype to insert some value to the hash table is: hash_item_t *ht_insert( hash_table_t *ht, ulong key, ulong data ); So basically i'm doing the insert double casting the method pointer: ht_insert( table, ASSIGN, reinterpret_cast<ulong>( (void *)&Executor::onAssign ) ); Where table is defined as a 'hash_table_t *' inside the declaration of the Executor class, ASSIGN is an unsigned long value, and 'onAssign' is the method I have to map. Now, Executor::onAssign is stored as an unsigned long value, its address in memory I think, and I need to cast back the ulong to a method pointer. But this code: hash_item_t* item = ht_find( table, ASSIGN ); expression_delegate_t delegate = reinterpret_cast < expression_delegate_t > (item->data); Gives me the following compilation error : src/executor.cpp:45: error: invalid cast from type ‘ulong’ to type ‘Object* (Executor::*)(vframe_t*, Node*)’ I'm using GCC v4.4.3 on a x86 GNU/Linux machine. Any hints?

• Is it possible to send back a json array along with seperate variables

  Hey guys I have an ajax jquery function that receives data from a php script. I want to return an array with all the online users which is retrieved from a mysql statement, and I want to send other separate variables I need for other purposes along with it. If anyone has any ideas, I would greatly appreciate it. NOTE: the example below is to illustrate what I want to do, I understand that json-encoding the array with other variables is dysfunctional. • Checking Selected Radio Button after POST

  I've been using ASP.NET controls which perform a lot of the manual for you. But I'm going back to the basics, what everyone else does. I'm using standard input tags. So for example if I have a radio button group and I select a button. When the form submits and does a POST back to whatever action="MyPage.aspx" then to grab and check the radio button's value that was selected is it always done like this below? <label><input type="radio" name="rbGroup" value='<%# ((Action)Container.DataItem).ID %>'/><%# ((Action)Container.DataItem).Name %></label> So here I'm appending the ID to the value. And then when it hits the page that my action specifies, I'm checking to see which was selected by trimming off and getting that ID from the value: string selection = Request.Form["rbGroup"]; string dbRecordIdSelected = int.Parse(selection.Substring(1)); so now I can check the id they selected...that is the ID of the db record that gave that selected radio it's name. Is that how you basically always check what radio was selected by checking the name/value pair that comes across for that selected radioButton group name? And then you can append stuff like IDs or whatever you want to grab and parse out to then do additional logic on the server-side once that header reaches the server and your specified page in the action attribute? The above code is not production code, just something to explain what I'm talking about.

But, this one I can not solve and I don't believe it is that hard compared to the others. • Radio button is not funtioning

  I'm having problem with my radio button in my gridview. I want to select any row one by one so that I can perform UPDATE, DELETE, and DISPLAY the row. When I select the button, the page will be refreshed and the button I selected before is not selected anymore. So I can't click any menu to update, delete or display the row. I noticed this is happening when I set the Autopostback = "True". How can I solve it? Any idea? • Convert JSON flattened for forms back to an object

  I am required (please therefore no nit-picking the requirement, I've already nit-picked it, and this is the req) to convert certain form fields that have "object nesting" embedded in the field names, back to the object(s) themselves. Below are some typical form field names: phones_0_patientPhoneTypeId phones_0_phone phones_1_patientPhoneTypeId phones_1_phone The form fields above were derived from an object such as the one toward the bottom (see "Data"), and that is the format of the object I need to reassemble. It can be assumed that any form field with a name that contains the underscore _ character needs to undergo this conversion. Also that the segment of the form field between underscores, if numeric, signifies a Javascript array, otherwise an object. I found it easy to devise a (somewhat naive) implementation for the "flattening" of the original object for use by the form, but am struggling going in the other direction; below the object/data below I'm pasting my current attempt. One problem (perhaps the only one?) with it is that it does not currently properly account for array indexes, but this might be tricky because the object will subsequently be encoded as JSON, which will not account for sparse arrays. So if "phones_1" exists, but "phones_0" does not, I would nevertheless like to ensure that a slot exists for phones[0] even if that value is null. Implementations that tweak what I have begun, or are entirely different, encouraged. If interested let me know if you'd like to see my code for the "flattening" part that is working.
