  • Why is xslt converter ignoring the content of <link>-tag

    - by Kristoffer Nolgren
When I put forexample this in my xslt-stylesheet: <link><xsl:text>test</xsl:text></link> Or this: <link>test</link> I get the following result: <link xmlns=""></link> This however: <linkb>test</linkb> Render the following result: <linkb xmlns="">test</linkb> The rest of the xslt does not seem to make any difference, i've tried it in several different and empty xslt-stylesheets This problem appears in backend conversion (php) aswell as frontend-konversion in chrome browser (but not in Firefox) Example of error: dev.resihop.nu (right above the footer)

  • mvc presentation model best-practices

    - by Andrew Florko
Hello, everybody How do you usually convert business objects to presentation? For example: Business object Person { Id, FirstName, LastName, Patronymic ... } should be presented as "LastName F. P. " in html layout. We use Presentation classes hierarchy to represent data ready for output from Business model. Questions: Will you keep presentation model completely separated from Business Model. For example, can strong-typed views (MVC ASP.NET) aggregate formatted business data as well as raw business objects (that leads toward <%=Html.Encode(PersonHelper.ToShort(Model.Person))% html layout injections) What architecture layer do you choose for conversion (mvc controllers that formats business data from business layer, for instance). Thank you in advance

  • Return pointer to nested inner class from generic outer class

    - by helixed
I'm new to C++, so bear with me. I have a generic class called A. A has a nested class called B. A contains a method called getB(), which is supposed to return a new instance of B. However, I can't get my code to compile. Here's what it looks like:#include A.h template <class E> class A { public: class B { public: int data; }; B * getB(); }; A.cpp #include "A.h" template <class E> A<E>::B * A::getB() { return new B(); } When I try to compile this, I get the following error: error: expected constructor, destructor, or type conversion before '*' token Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks, helixed

  • XML to DOC to PDF

    - by Max
what is the easiest(and fastest) way to perform this kind of transformation: "Data in XML" to "Some MS Word 2003 Supported format" to PDF using Java? My first guess was to fill the template with XML data (using Placeholders for example) and then save it and convert it to PDF. But I can't just put placeholders to DOC files, and I can't convert from some other Word formats to PDF... My primary task is to convert XML Data to PDF allowing users to change the PDF on-demand. The best way to change the PDF on-demand seems to give user some kind of MS Word readable document, and then convert it back. There are 2 main problems with this task: 1) I can't use OpenOffice for conversion. 2) System should be able to convert ~1 page of table-based document per 1 second on 2Ghz Core. 3) RTF does not provide enough styling, so some more complex format should be used. Thanks in advance.

  • Diophantine Equation [closed]

    - by ANIL
In mathematics, a Diophantine equation (named for Diophantus of Alexandria, a third century Greek mathematician) is a polynomial equation where the variables can only take on integer values. Although you may not realize it, you have seen Diophantine equations before: one of the most famous Diophantine equations is: X^n+Y^n=Z^n We are not certain that McDonald's knows about Diophantine equations (actually we doubt that they do), but they use them! McDonald's sells Chicken McNuggets in packages of 6, 9 or 20 McNuggets. Thus, it is possible, for example, to buy exactly 15 McNuggets (with one package of 6 and a second package of 9), but it is not possible to buy exactly 16 nuggets, since no non- negative integer combination of 6's, 9's and 20's adds up to 16. To determine if it is possible to buy exactly n McNuggets, one has to solve a Diophantine equation: find non-negative integer values of a, b, and c, such that 6a + 9b + 20c = n. Problem 1 Show that it is possible to buy exactly 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, and 55 McNuggets, by finding solutions to the Diophantine equation. You can solve this in your head, using paper and pencil, or writing a program. However you chose to solve this problem, list the combinations of 6, 9 and 20 packs of McNuggets you need to buy in order to get each of the exact amounts. Given that it is possible to buy sets of 50, 51, 52, 53, 54 or 55 McNuggets by combinations of 6, 9 and 20 packs, show that it is possible to buy 56, 57,..., 65 McNuggets. In other words, show how, given solutions for 50-55, one can derive solutions for 56-65. Problem 2 Write an iterative program that finds the largest number of McNuggets that cannot be bought in exact quantity. Your program should print the answer in the following format (where the correct number is provided in place of n): "Largest number of McNuggets that cannot be bought in exact quantity: n" Hints: Hypothesize possible instances of numbers of McNuggets that cannot be purchased exactly, starting with 1 For each possible instance, called n, a. Test if there exists non-negative integers a, b, and c, such that 6a+9b+20c = n. (This can be done by looking at all feasible combinations of a, b, and c) b. If not, n cannot be bought in exact quantity, save n When you have found six consecutive values of n that in fact pass the test of having an exact solution, the last answer that was saved (not the last value of n that had a solution) is the correct answer, since you know by the theorem that any amount larger can also be bought in exact quantity

  • How to convert a Java object (bean) to key-value pairs (and vice versa)?

    - by Shahbaz
Say I have a very simple java object that only has some getXXX and setXXX properties. This object is used only to handle values, basically a record or a type-safe (and performant) map. I often need to covert this object to key value pairs (either strings or type safe) or convert from key value pairs to this object. Other than reflection or manually writing code to do this conversion, what is the best way to achieve this? An example might be sending this object over jms, without using the ObjectMessage type (or converting an incoming message to the right kind of object).

  • TypeConverter for serialization

    - by Cat
Is it normal practice to use a TypeConverter for serialization? There is a class that I do not own that has a "lossy" TypeConverter. When converting to a string, it formats its floating point data with "G4", so that when this type is displayed in a PropertyGrid, it's easily readable. I would like to also use this TypeConverter to convert from a string, creating an instance of this class. Right now I am checking the CultureInfo passed to TypeConverter.ConvertTo and only using the pretty, lossy conversion if the CultureInfo is not InvariantCulture. I'd like to know if I'm going about this the wrong way.

  • Instantiating a System.Threading.Thread object in Jscript

    - by user297029
I'm trying to create a new System.Threading.Thread object using Jscript, but I can't get the constructor to work. If I just do the following, var thread = new Thread( threadFunc ); function threadFunc() { // do stuff } then I get error JS1184: More than one constructor matches this argument list. However, if I try to coerce threadFunc to System.Threading.ThreadStart via var thread = new Thread( ThreadStart(threadFunc) ) I get error JS1208: The specified conversion or coercion is not possible Anyone know how to do this? It seems like it should be trivial.

  • transaction log shipping sql server 2005 to 2008

    - by Andrew Jahn
I have a reporting setup with SSRS on our sql server 2005 database. Because sql server 2008 is not supported by the main program which populates our database we are stuck with 2005 on our prod database. Unfortunately when I run our weekly check reports the web interface constantly times out because the server cant do the conversion to PDF. I've read that sql server 2008's SSRS is ALOT better with memory management. I was wondering if I can do some kind transact log shipping subscription publication from 2005 to 2008? Am I chasing a dream here.

  • PHP Explode with an Unicode character as separator

    - by Young Roger
XPDFs pdftotext converts pdf to text and outputs it at command line level. If needed it inserts PageBreaks between the pages as specified in TextOutputDev.cc: eopLen = uMap->mapUnicode(0x0c, eop, sizeof(eop)); This Unicode symbol is encoding independent, -enc ASCII7 wouldn't change it. I'm currently willing to use PHP for converting and splitting the PDF file into several TXT pages for database storage. However, the following function does work, but takes twice as long as a conversion of the whole book in one time. for($i = 1; $i <= $pages[0]; $i++) $page[$i] = shell_exec('/usr/bin/pdftotext sample.pdf -f '.$i.' -l '.$i.' -'); How am I supposed to explode(0x0c, $wholePDF) with an Unicode character as separator? Currently, page[$i] doesn't seem to retrieve those weird Unicode PageBreak characters from the shell_exec(). I tried several headers for encoding (UTF-8 especially) but it didn't work out so far.

  • C++ debugging help for C# programmer

    - by ddm
I'm embarrassed to post this but it's been awhile since I worked in C++, been with C# for awhile. I'm converting old (not written by me) vs2003 and 05 C++ code to vs 08. In addition to lots of lumps during conversion, I want to add debug logging so I can monitor what is going on when I attach with windbg. I've searched the archives here and ms and I think it's using Debugger.Log(...) but not sure. I also remember years ago launching a debug monitor to catch the logging. So the call to some experts that have a better memory than I. What call(s) can I make (without the DEBUG compile directive - need to watch release code) to catch the logging in wind bag? I followed a couple of debugging links from SO posts but they were dead. Thanx - Old Man.

  • Overload assignment operator for assigning sql::ResultSet to struct tm

    - by Luke Mcneice
Are there exceptions for types which can't have thier assignment operator overloaded? Specifically, I'm wanting to overload the assignment operator of a struct tm (from time.h) so I can assign a sql::ResultSet to it. I already have the conversion logic: sscanf(sqlresult->getString("StoredAt").c_str(), "%d-%d-%d %d:%d:%d", &TempTimeStruct->tm_year, &TempTimeStruct->tm_mon, &TempTimeStruct->tm_mday, &TempTimeStruct->tm_hour, &TempTimeStruct->tm_min, &TempTimeStruct->tm_sec); I tried the overload with this: tm& tm::operator=(sql::ResultSet & results) { /*CODE*/ return *this; } However VS08 reports: error C2511: 'tm &tm::operator =(sql::ResultSet &)' : overloaded member function not found in 'tm'

  • Running lame from php

    - by gok
I am trying to run lame from a php script. I have tried these, but no luck, I don't get anything returned! Any ideas? system('lame', $returnarr); system('lame --help', $returnarr); exec('lame', $returnarr); passthru('lame', $returnarr); even this one returns nothing: exec('which lame', $returnarr); I am on OSX and final deployment will be on Linux. Do you have better suggestions for an automated wav-mp3 conversion? From php, should I execute a bash script that executes Lame?

  • AutoMapper and SecurityException in IIS

    - by Felipe
Hi everybody... I'm developing a asp.net mvc application with nhibernate and I would not like to expose my objects mappings with NHibernate, so I created DTO for each entity and I'm trying to convert my Domain objects to DTO and send it to View. So I have in my sollution: ClassLibrary with my Domain (for NHibernate) and DTO objetcs Class library to make a SessionFactory adn Factories in my Project Asp.Net MVC 2 Application So, I download AutoMapper to transform Domain objects in DTO and add a the code to do this in Application_Start of global.asax. When I run in VisualStudio (by pressing F5) it works fine and my dtos are into the view, So when I publish this in IIS, I get a security exception =( in first line of conversion: Mapper.CreateMap(); <--- this line throw exception Mapper.CreateMap(); System.Security.SecurityException: Failed request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.ReflectionPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'. What can I do to resolve this to work in IIS ? When I will publish it on web server, the error will get too :( Thanks Cheers

  • Need Simple way to access XML in VB.Net - Pain with Linq-to-Xml

    - by aiart
Dim myXDoc As XDocument = _ I want to access this in a simple way in VB.Net - Like: Dim Integer SizeXStr = CInt(MyZDoc.Cameras(1).Camera_Desc.@SizeX) ' where (1) is an index Why isn't this implemented in VB.Net? Better yet, type the values with a Schema and eliminate the conversion. Is this so hard? How do I access, in a simple way, data in XML - this would be VERY VERY useful! I have been using Query to try to get the values - when I use MsgBox() to display results, they display, but my main Windows Form is Trashed - changed colors, etc. The system has Bugs. Instead, I have to create an elaborate structure of arrays of objects and read the XML line-by-line and do the same for saving - this is the dark ages. Art

  • Create a polynomial object from a number using change-class

    - by charlieb
I have written a polynomial class along the lines described in SICP 2.5.3 (except using defclass). I would like to be able to seamlessly add and multiply polynomials and regular numbers but I can't make change-class accept a number. I tried to simplify the problem by changing class from an integer to a float: (change-class 4 'float) but that gave me the error: There is no applicable method for the generic function #<STANDARD-GENERIC-FUNCTION CHANGE-CLASS (7)> when called with arguments (4 #<BUILT-IN-CLASS FLOAT>). [Condition of type SIMPLE-ERROR] I get an error of the same form from (fyi): (change-class 4 'polynomial) I'm going to go ahead and implement a manual conversion but I would prefer to use the built-in clos facilities.

  • Encoding problem with preg_replace() and scandir()

    - by itarato
Hi, On OS-X (PHP5.2.11) I have a file: siësta.doc (and thousand other with Unicode filenames) and I want to convert the file names to a web-consumable format (a-zA-Z0-9.). If I hardcode the file name above I can do the right conversion: <?php $file = 'siësta.doc'; echo preg_replace("/[^a-zA-Z0-9.]/u", '_', $file); // Output: si_sta.doc ?> But if I read the file names with scandir, I've got strange conversions: <?php $files = scandir(DIRNAME); foreach ($files as $file) { echo preg_replace("/[^a-zA-Z0-9.]/u", '_', $file); // Output for the file above: sie_sta.doc } ?> I tried to detect the encoding, set the encoding, convert it with iconv functions. I tried the mb_ functions also. But it was just worse. What did I do wrong? Thanks in advance

  • Writing JSON with XSLT

    - by JP
Hi, I'm trying to write XSLT to transform a specific web page to JSON. The following code demonstrates how Ruby would do this conversion, but the XSLT doesn't generate valid JSON (there's one too many commas inside the array) - anyone know how to write XSLT to generate valid JSON? require 'rubygems' require 'nokogiri' require 'open-uri' doc = Nokogiri::HTML(open('http://bbc.co.uk/radio1/playlist')) xslt = Nokogiri::XSLT(DATA.read) puts out = xslt.transform(doc) # Now follows the XSLT __END__ <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <xsl:output method="text" encoding="UTF-8" media-type="text/plain"/> <xsl:template match="/"> [ <xsl:for-each select="//*[@id='playlist_a']//div[@class='artists_and_songs']//ul[@class='clearme']"> {'artist':'<xsl:value-of select="li[@class='artist']" />','track':'<xsl:value-of select="li[@class='song']" />'}, </xsl:for-each> ] </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet>

  • How can I change from docbook to restructuredText?

    - by Paul Biggar
I have a 30-ish page manual in docbook. However, working with docbook is so painful that I don't really update it. I want to switch to restructedText instead. I can't find any direct translator (the best I could find is ezComponents, but it fails on the docbook sgml). Maybe there is an indirect route through RTF or some other format, but I can't figure it out. Any ideas? PS The current conversion process is: docbook -> jade -> html docbook -> jade -> tex -> pdflatex -> pdf

  • How to store a numeric value which can have other statuses in a database?

    - by Jiho Han
I need to store a set of numbers in a database which are imported from a spreadsheet. Sometimes a number is just a number. But in other times, a value can be "missing", "N/A", or blank and these all represent different things. What would be a good approach to store these numbers in the database? Originally I only had to account for N/A. So I made it -1 as I imported them (this only works if the number can never be negative obviously). I could use other negative numbers for other statuses. However, that seems clunky to me. Should I store the numbers as string then apply conversion at use time? Should I create a matching table that stores different statuses of each value?

  • Java Charset problem on linux

Hi, problem: I have a string containing special characters which i convert to bytes and vice versa..the conversion works properly on windows but on linux the special character is not converted properly.the default charset on linux is UTF-8 as seen with Charset.defaultCharset.getdisplayName() however if i run on linux with option -Dfile.encoding=ISO-8859-1 it works properly.. how to make it work using the UTF-8 default charset and not setting the -D option in unix environment. edit: i use jdk1.6.13 edit:code snippet works with cs = "ISO-8859-1"; or cs="UTF-8"; on win but not in linux String x = "½"; System.out.println(x); byte[] ba = x.getBytes(Charset.forName(cs)); for (byte b : ba) { System.out.println(b); } String y = new String(ba, Charset.forName(cs)); System.out.println(y); ~regards daed

  • QPluginLoader with PyQt modules as plugins: possible?

    - by Thorfin
Hi! I have a C++ application that loads externals plugins thanks to QPluginloader. QPluginLoader provides access to a Qt plugin. A Qt plugin is stored in a shared library (a DLL). The plugins have to inherit from a pure virtual class ( and Q_DECLARE_INTERFACE ) and QObject. I would like to create plugins by using python and PyQt. Is this possible without too much work? For instance if I have to convert the modules to C++ with boost::python, this could be nonsense, as PyQt is already a conversion from C++ to Python... Thanks!

  • BigDecimal serialization in GWT

    - by Domchi
What is your preferred approach to serializing BigDecimal in GWT? Are there any clever workarounds, or do you simply use Double or String? Of all of the GWT pains this is so far the biggest; I'd hate to create two models, one for server and one for GWT, and transform data from one to the other. On the other hand, while I don't care much about using String instead of, say, javax.xml.datatype.Duration, I have to use BigDecimal on the server because of the calculations, which means either two models and conversion, or tons of tiny conversions to BigDecimal for every calculation.

  • How to launch the market intent in 'Give Feedback' mode on android.

    - by Paul Maidment
Hi There, I have just written a game for the Android market and would like to remind my customers to leave feeback on the market for the application (especially the demo version.) Is there any way to launch the market intent in a mode that will take the user to the feedback / comments section of the page? I already use this approach for linking my demo to the paid app... Intent goToMarket = null; goToMarket = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW,Uri.parse("market://details?id=com.paulmaidment.games.flagsoftheworld")); startActivity(goToMarket); Is there a best practice that any Android devs out there might know of? Additionally, is there any way to track referalls from my demo app so that I can try to calculate some kind of a conversion rate? (i.e. how effective the demo app is at generating sales.) Thanks, Paul
