    The following statement to fill a list from a file : action = [] with open (os.getcwd() + "/files/" + "actions.txt") as temp:          action = list (temp) gives me the following error: (result, consumed) = self._buffer_decode (data, self.errors, end) UnicodeDecodeError: 'utf-8' codec can not decode byte 0xf1 in position 67: invalid continuation byte if I add errors = 'ignore': action = [] with open (os.getcwd () + "/ files /" + "actions.txt", errors = 'ignore') as temp:          action = list (temp) Is read the file but not the ñ and vowels accented á-é-í-ó-ú being that python 3 works, as I have understood, default to 'utf-8' I'm looking for a solution for two or more days, and I'm getting more confused. In advance thank you very much for any suggestions.

    The goal of this is to check if the character taken into account is a number or operand and then output it into a list which will be written out to a txt file. I'm wondering which process would be more efficient, whether to do it as I stated above (writing it to a list and then writing that list out into a file) or being writing out into a txt file right from the procedure. I'm new with scheme so I apologize if I am not using the correct terminology (define input '("3" "+" "4")) (define check (if (number? (car input)) (write this out to a list or directly to a file) (check the rest of file))) Another question I had in mind, how can I make it so that the check process is recursive? I know it's a lot of asking but I've getting a little frustrated with checking out the methods that I have found on other sites. I really appreciate the help!

    I have a file on a Windows 2003 NTFS file system. It is called C:\MyFolder\MyFile.txt. First grant a user read access to the file. Then I remove the user's read access to the parent folder. Now the user cannot use Windows Explorer to browse the folder and double click to open in Notepad. The user can go to Start (menu) Run and enter "C:\MyFolder\MyFile.txt" and the file will load in Notepad. Can someone point me to some MSDN documentation that explains why this is? I've tried all the google and bing queries I can think of. thanks much

  • writing terminal output to file

    On my machine, I have some software which takes commands in the terminal and returns a list of values. To run it, I have to type something like: pdv -t filename I am trying to run it as part of a python programme. When I run the following: os.system('pdv -t %s' % (epoch_name)) then I get the values that I desire returned to my terminal (where epoch_name is the variable name for the filename). But when I try to write the result to a file: os.system('pdv -t %s % "(epoch_name)" > 123.txt') the file 123.txt is produced but it is empty. I know that I am misplacing the " and/or ' characters, but I can't figure out where they should go. Any help would be gratefully received!

  • Nagios Creating lots of zombie process

    In my monitoring box, I have lots of zombie process created by nagios and they gets remove quickly also. I am using active checks to perform monitoring of my servers. I accumulated the defunct processes created using the following command: $ top -d 0.25 -b -n 20 > topout.txt This collected the output of top with 0.25s delay 20 times.   • SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise won't install on Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise

    I've been trying to install SQL Server on a new Windows Server 2008. I have tried everything but I haven't been able to narrow down the problem. When the installation fails I get " Exit code (Decimal): -2068643839". The problem with this is that according to Microsoft this is a generic error code. I follow their guide to look into the detail.txt inside C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log\ But I can't find something that specifies the exact error. Any suggestions ?   • IIS 7.5 on Windows Server 2008 R2 refusing to create PASSIVE MODE FTP connections

    I'm attempting to get an FTP client written in perl to transfer files from an IIS 7.5 FTP server using passive mode. I've configured the FTP server as per instructions and have also configured Windows Firewall to allow this type of traffic. I have validated that the firewall is behaviong correctly by checking to ensure there are no blocked packets in the logs. I have verified the that FTP control channel is being opened on Port 21. I believe the client is being told by IIS which port to connect on for passive mode and IIS is refusing to allow this connection.   • Graphical sandbox for pathfinding

    If you needed a clean and consistent sandbox for pathfinding what would you use? I want to experiment with different pathfinding algorithms by sending virtual units (robots) around obstacles on a geometric plane. But I don't need a feature overkill like a game engine or Flash might have, just an animated report and native collision detector. I prefer it to be scripted in python, but if there are java or C++ alternatives I would appreciate them as well.

I have used KiKS (in MATLAB for simulating Khepera robots), MobotSim (in Windows, simulates a point like robot using a BASIC editor) and Player Stage/Gazebo (with C/C++ on Ubuntu Linux). I know pandora.com talks about a panda ravaging it's way through the office, twitter's has the little birds floating around or something, sourceforge had one with some funny robots the other day. I'm sure I saw a blog once that had a bunch of them, but it's kinda hard to google "error pages". Community Wiki, of course :)

    Back when I was at school, I remember tinkering with a Mac game where you programmed little robots in a sort of pseudo-assembler language which could then battle each other. They could move themselves around the arena, look for opponents in different directions, and fire some sort of weapon. Pretty basic stuff, but I remember it quite fondly, even if I can't remember the name. Are there any good modern day equivalents?

    in my .htaccess i've got these lines: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond $1 !^(index\.php|images|robots\.txt) RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L] i tried to include js files with this line: <script type="text/javascript" src="system/application/media/js/jquery/jquery.js"></script> but it doesnt work since the rules dont let it pass. it works when i turn the rewrite engine off. how can i change the rules so it allows url with a /js, /css and /img? thanks
