  • embed tag for flash and w3c

    when validating a site using w3c validator it tells me the tag is not valid markup. So i take it out and it works on safari/chrome but not firefox(3.5.x) but validates fine. Is there something in the tag i must add in order for firefox to display flash.

    I have the following compiled query that I want to return a list of "groups" that don't have a "GroupID" that's contained in a filtered list: CompiledQuery.Compile(ConfigEntities contexty, List list) = from c in context.Groups where (!csList.Contains(c.GroupID)) select c).ToList() However I'm getting the following run-time error: The specified parameter 'categories' of type 'System.Collections.Generic.List`1[[System.Int32, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c261364e126]]' is not valid. Only scalar parameters (such as Int32, Decimal, and Guid) are supported. Any ideas?

    I get an "unrecognized HTTP method" when trying to do a REPORT request using httplib and gae. Is there a workaround available? An httplib patch for gae? Do you I have to find another host in order to do this natively?   • Remove extra junk from C preprocessor?

    I'm trying to use the C preprocessor on non-C code, and it works fine except for creating lines like this at the top: # 1 "test.java" # 1 "<built-in>" # 1 "<command-line>" # 1 "test.java" The problem is that these lines aren't valid in Java. Is there any way to get the preprocessor to not write this stuff? I'd prefer not to have to run this through something else to just remove the first 4 lines every time.

    Should I validate input parameters on all functions I create? Input isn't passed from a user, but from other routines as part of an automatic process. I use error handling. I'm not sure what more validating input could do for me. If the input isn't valid, that's pretty much the same thing as an error, isn't it?

    I lack understanding of some basic MVC concepts, despite all my searching. I created an MVC project in Visual Studio, which contains the partial view _LogOnPartial.shtml. I just want to access information within the view pertaining to the user, to put in a user dropdown menu. When I try to put this at the top of the partial view cshtml page I get the above error: @model MyProject_MVC.Models.UserRepository When I try this I also get an error: @Html.Partial("_LogOnPartial", MyProject_MVC.Models.UserRepository) 'MyProject_MVC.Models.UserRepository' is a 'type', which is not valid in the given context

  • Should a user authorize each time i need an access token?

    In the facebook authentication guide, i am suppose to: Get the user to authorize my application, by redirecting them to authorize uri. Get my access token from facebook by hitting the /outh/accesstoken uri. Lets just say, that for whatever reason, this token is no longer valid. Do i need to perform step #1, or can i hit the /outh/accesstoken uri again?

    I need to add a row to a MySQL database table but only if the row doesn't already exist. My database server just went down so I can't test this, but will this work as expected? INSERT INTO `blocks` (`block_file`,`settings_group`) VALUES ('announcements','announcement_settings') WHERE NOT EXISTS (SELECT `block_file`,`settings_group` FROM `blocks` WHERE `block_file`='announcements' AND `settings_group`='announcement_settings') It seems like sound logic.   • Run javascript function after Server-Side validation is complete.

    Ok, I've got a lightbox with a small form (2 fields) in it, inside an UpdatePanel, and I want to close this lightbox (must be done via javascript) when the 'Save' button is pressed. However, there is a need to have a server-side CustomValidator on the page, and I only want to close the lightbox if this returns as valid. Does anyone know a way to trigger javascript (or jQuery) code from a server-side validator?
