    I am currently experimenting with canvas drawing function in a uiwebview.Its a simple app that allows you to finger paint on the Iphone.Can someone point me in the rite direction on a problem I'm having.I need to be able to import pictures from the photos storage to the canvas within the uiwebview.Its built on Html,javascript and css.Would prefer to use objective C in xcode to acomplish this.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    What exactly is the point of adding a UIViewController in IB? There is no way to add code like you can if you create a viewController in Xcode? And if you can what is the advantage of doing it in IB. And isn't the whole point of a MVC to seperate code into "modular" parts so why would add a ViewController in IB

  • How to get a checkout-able revision info from subversion?

    I want to check a svn url and to get the latest revision, then checkout it, I don't want to use HEAD because I will compare the latest revision to others. so I use "svn info" to get the "Last Changed Rev" for the url like this: D:\Project>svn info svn://.../branches/.../path Path: ... URL: svn://.../branches/.../path Repository Root: svn://yt-file-srv/ Repository UUID: 9ed5ffd7-7585-a14e-96b2-4aab7121bb21 Revision: 2400 Node Kind: directory Last Changed Author: xxx Last Changed Rev: 2396 Last Changed Date: 2010-03-12 09:31:52 +0800 but, I found the 2396 revision is not checkout-able, because this path is in a branch copied from trunk, and the 2396 is the revision modified in the trunk. so when I use svn checkout -r 2396, I will get a workcopy for the path in the trunk, then I can not do checkin for the branch. D:\Project>svn checkout svn://.../branches/.../path -r 2396 workcopy ..... .....   • Missing symbol names when profiling IPhone application with Instruments.

    I am compiling an IPhone application via command line (so no XCode options involved) and I am unable to get my symbol names to show when profiling with Instruments. I have tried several flags such as -gdawrf-2 and -g without any success. I have also tried using dsymutils to generate a .dSYM file but i have no clue how I'm supposed to use it so that failed aswell. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

  • Default App Icon not appearing in iOS Simulator

    I have searched quite a lot for an answer to this problem. If I have a general application, HelloWorld, and create an interface and then go to test it, then click on the Home button, not even the default grey/white icon is there like it's supposed to be. Anyone have any ideas why? I've even tried specifying a custom icon in the Info.plist file, but still nothing... I've got the latest version of Xcode and the SDK as well. (3.25 - 4.2)

  • How to static analyze C++ and Objective-C++ code?

    The "Build and analyze" option doesn't seem to work for .cpp and .mm files. I tried "clang --analyze" on individual files without any standard #includes and it works well. However I'm not able to run it on my Xcode project. I couldn't figure out a way to make clang find the standard #includes like even UIKit.h. Any clues?

  • Is there a way to visualize records stored in an iPhone app via Core Data?

    I have an app which, for good reasons, can only be debugged on a device. I'm using Core Data for the first time, and I'd like to be able to easily inspect the records that are stored by the app on the device. I imagine that Core Data is by default backed by SQLite on the iPhone, so this question might be as simple as asking: "What's the easiest way to extract the SQLite database for an app installed by Xcode without jailbreaking it?" Any experience someone could lend regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

  • *iPhone* Unable to symbolicate in Object Allocations instrument

    Hi there, i run a C++ app from objective-c I can successfully symbolicate my function names using Shark profiler but not with the Object Allocations instrument.à In the detailed pane, i only see my C++ app name with the hexadecimal value for my C++ functions. I tried to do a "File/Re-Symbolicate Document", selecting my app folder containing both my app and my Dsym file but nothing change. Any clues?   • Trouble with SVN and Filename 'changes'.

    I am programming in Visual Studio 2010, using TortiseSVN and VisualSVN as my client to connect to SVN repositories. I am having a bit of a frequent problem though with the whole SVN thing in general. One thing that keeps cropping up is that if I make changes to files - namely filenames, or move them to new folders, etc, I end up getting all kinds of conflicts with the repository and it just causes all sorts of strange errors. I understand the importance of version control and check-in/check-out access like this, but what do most of you do to deal with this kind of thing? I mean, I've tried doing the whole 'Remove from Subversion', change my file, then 'Add to Subversion' thing, and it just doesn't seem to do the job very well. This is especially frustrating when working on web projects where filenames can change very frequently as a project evolves and becomes multifaceted. Are there any standard ways to deal with this kind of thing, or is it just one of the flaws of SVN in general?

  • checking the return code using python (MAC)

    I have written a script that checks if an SVN Repo is up and running, the result is based on the return value. import subprocess url = " validurl" def check_svn_status(): subprocess.call(['svn info'+url],shell=True) def get_status(): subprocess.call('echo $?',shell=True) def main(): check_svn_status() get_status() if __name__ == '__main__': main() The problem I'm facing is that if I change the url to something that does't exist I still get the return value as 0, but if I were to run this outside the script, i.e go to the terminal type svn info wrong url and then do a echo $? I get a return value of 1. But I can't re-create this in the python. Any guidelines ?

    I was working on a program today and hit this strange bug. I had a UIButton with an action assigned. The action was something like: -(void) someaction:(id) e { if ([e tag]==SOMETAG) { //dostuff } } What confuses me is that when I first wrote it, the if line was if (e.tag==SOMETAG) XCode refused to compile it, saying error: request for member 'tag' in 'e', which is of non-class type 'objc_object*' but I thought the two were equivalent. So under what circumstances are they not the same?

  • Will releasing an iPhone app makes it available for iPad by default?

    In my XCode's Targets summary screen, the "Devices" drop down is set to "iPhone" (other possible values are iPad and Universal) because I haven't fine tuned the app's UI for iPad. However, will people be able to download and run my app from the iPad in non-fullscreen? (e.g., with black border surrounding most of the screen) I want people to be able to search for it in app store, install it, and run it even though it is not full screen. Thanks a lot

    I have a class (MyClass) with a lot of methods. Consequently, the .m file has become quite difficult to read. I'm relatively new to Objective-C (having come from REALbasic) and I was wondering if it's possible to put some of the methods in MyClass into different files and then include them in the class. How would I go about this in Xcode?
