  • Adding a Third Table to a Two-Table Join Query

    Hello, The query below works just fine. It pulls fields from two MySQL tables, "comment" and "login". It does this for rows where "username" in the table "login" equals the variable "$profile." It also pulls fields for rows where "loginid" in the table "comment" equals the "loginid" that is also being pulled from "login." I would like to pull data from a third table called "submission," which has the following fields: submissionid loginid title url displayurl datesubmitted I would like to pull fields from rows in "submission" where "loginid" equals the "loginid" that is already being pulled from the other two tables, "login" and "comment." How can I do this?   • Batch adding attribute to attribute sets

    I have a Magento installation with around 60 attribute sets. I need to add a new attribute to each of the attribute sets. There doesn't seem to anyway of doing this in the admin control panel. I am sure I can work it out by manually entering the correct fields into the database, but is there a way of doing this through the API or through the Import / Export profiles? Any suggestions would be gladly received.

  • Codeigniter Form Validation - how to unset form values after success?

    I realise this request goes against the example provided in the CI documentation (which advises a separate 'success' page view), but I would like to reutilise a given form view after a form has been successfully submitted - displaying a success message then displaying a blank form. I've tried a few ways unsuccessfully to clear the validation set values (unsetting $_POST, setting rules / fields to an empty array and rerunning validatio). I could redirect to the same page, but then I'd have to set a session variable to display a success message - which is a messy approach. Any ideas how to achieve the above?

    UPDATE statistics' SET money = money + '$money' WHERE member_id IN ((SELECT member_id FROM races WHERE l_id = '$mem_id'), $other_id) What's wrong with that? I want to retrieve all member_ids from races and also include to member_id $other_id. Without $other_id it works. By the way, it gives me "Subquery returns more than 1 row" error.

    I have a list of phone extensions that I want to print a friendly version of it. I have a print css for it to print appropriately onto paper, the extensions are located within an unordered list, which are floated to the left. <ul> <li>Larry Hughes <span class="ext">8291</span></li> <li>Chuck Davis <span class="ext">3141</span></li> <li>Kevin Skillis <span class="ext">5115</span></li> </ul> I float it left, and when it prints the second page, it leaves off the name part of the list (in Firefox, works fine in Google Chrome and IE), see here: http://cl.ly/de965aea63f66c13ba32 I am referring to this: http://www.alistapart.com/articles/goingtoprint/ - they mentioned something about applying a float:none; to the content part of the page. If I do that, how should I go about making the list show up in 4 columns? It is a dynamic list, pulled from a database. Any help is appreciated.

    I have an single array of Hierarchical categories. Index of the array is the category_id like:: [8846] => Array ( [category_id] => 8846 [title] => Tsting two [description] => Tsting two [subtype] => categories [type] => object [level] => 2 [parent_category] => 8841 [tags] => new [name] => Tsting two ) each value has its parent_category value, I have around 500 elements in the array, what is the best way to make it. Process i followed: krsort categories array, so that all the child categories are at the beginning, then function makeHierarchical() { foreach($this->categories as $guid => $category) { if($category['level'] != 1) $this->multilevel_categories[$category['parent_category']][$guid] = $category; } } but this is not working, it does it only for first level. Can someone point out me the error.

    Hi, *************EDIT********** i am using ODBC and found that can not read more than 4096 for a field Any suggestions *************EDIT************ i am reading an image from db $image=$row["image-contents"]; Now try to write the file to disk $image_name="test.jpg"; $file = fopen( "images/".$image_name, "w" ); fwrite( $file, $image); fclose( $file ); The problem is that the file created is only 4096 bytes and the image file is corrupt because $image is larger than 4096. I now that fwrite use blocks for write but i dont know how do it. Help plz!

  • Fitting Text into an Image

    Hello all, I have a function which takes in a font (ttf or otf file) and generates an image of text in different fonts. The problem I have is trying to work out how I can make the text fit in the image regardless of the font-size, type of font, and amount of text. I have tried to make the image rectangle variable so that it contains the text of different fonts without cutting a bit of the text since the image is not long or wide enough.   • How can I get a iterable resultset from the database using pdo, instead of a large array?

    I'm using PDO inside a database abstraction library function query. I'm using fetchAll(), which if you have a lot of results, can get memory intensive, so I want to provide an argument to toggle between a fetchAll associative array and a pdo result set that can be iterated over with foreach and requires less memory (somehow). I remember hearing about this, and I searched the PDO docs, but I couldn't find any useful way to do that. Does anyone know how to get an iterable resultset back from PDO instead of just a flat array? And am I right that using an iterable resultset will be easier on memory? I'm using Postgresql, if it matters in this case. . . .   • Setting ownership/permissions for symfony2 and other web projects

    I've been very confused as to how to set permissions and user/groups for my sites. It is particularly one of my weakest suits My curent problem is that I often find myself running into a situation where if i view a particular page, it won't have permissions to write to cache or logs. At this point I'll set the ownership towards apache. Then, in other cases, if i try to run internal scripts, for example, I can't write to these cache/log files because i set them for apache. Currently, my symfony2 files are all registered to me as a part of staff (Handonam:Staff). I've seen various people creating groups such as www-data, apache, etc, and using users such as theirselves (e.g. Handonam) or www as a part of those groups. So my question is: For symfony2 and other web projects, what's generally the best setup for user/group setup so that both apache and myself can interact with these files, while maintaining decent security?

    Hello! I'm curious if anyone could possibly help me, because I can't find anything exactly related to it anywhere, and it's driving me nuts. I'd like to have a dropdown list on a page, that will give the visitor the option to sort all entries by year. I have entries from i.e. 2001, 2005, 2009, 2010. The years should be displayed in the dropdown, so the visitor can easily just select all entries dated 2001 if they want. The year for each entry is located in the one database table I have. In other words, I simply want a "sort by" dropdown that you can see on pretty much any shopping site nowadays. But with set years. Thanks in advance for any replies!
