• Newsletter sent with drupal goes to Spam Folder [closed]

  Possible Duplicate: How could I prevent my mail from being recognized as spam? • Setting Gmail as mail server

  I’m in a slightly weird situation right now, and I don’t have sufficient knowledge to sort this myself without truly understand what I’m doing. Yesterday, I’ve registered a domain (.com) and ordered a VPS, attached to that domain. Chances are I may receive mail on my .com address to confirm the domain. Unfortunately, that domain is nothing, but an empty domain. Currently, there’s no mailserver that fetches my mail. Because I don’t have a mailserver available, I (temporarily) want to use Gmail. I prefer to add it to my existing, personal address, but I’m okay with creating a new account as well. I just want to read possible incoming mails. I’ve tried to set MX records to What do I need to do to get mail to a Gmail address? PS. I’m aware of Google, NSA, etc. PPS. I just want to receive mail. I don’t care if I can’t send via my domain. PPS. Detailed steps would be greatly appreciated, I’m a noob.

• How do I allow e-mail to be relayed through this MTA?

How can I allow a specific domain to be whitelisted and allowed through the MTA? • Why is Claws Mail starting in offline mode?

  I am sorry if this is not the best place to ask this, but hopefully someone might be able to help. After I upgraded to Ubuntu 11.10 from 11.04, Claws Mail 3.7.10 began starting in offline mode. It continues to do so upon every startup. I have searched and searched but cannot find any option that might affect this. Am I overlooking the option? Is this a bug with the current versions of Claws Mail and Ubuntu? Or is there some other way to fix this? Thank you.

  I have the project for work that requires me to send e-mails to people using our work mail server. The server doesn't require authentication. Part of my project is using a Java-Helper I'm developing on GitHub. I don't know if I completely understand how it all works, but I'm guessing it would be a bad idea to have the server information available on GitHub for the world to see. Is this correct? After thought: I'm not going to put it in the Java-Helper because that wouldn't be helpful for anyone but me. but I'm still curious to know the answer to this question :) Thanks!

  Emails from my domain (hosted at 1and1, and using Google Apps Premier edition) have sporadically been going to recipients' spam folders lately. I did some research, tested, and found out that I do not have an SPF record for my domain. According to this Google Support page, I need to create one. Following the steps on that page is easy, until I get to #3: Create a TXT record containing this text: v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all I see no way to create a "TXT record". • Common practice in handling bounce message

  At now I mainly create a mail account separately (with different domain name [email protected]) and i add this mail as one return path. So the bounce message will only go to that mailbox and i parse the mail message one by one to check the failure receipent and the error code, then i convert the error code to the actual error message. Finally, the error message and the fail receipent's mail are post to my system and let my system user check the bounce information. Is it a common practice? Since i am worry about the mail other from bounce message have sent to my mail box, that would be a disaster if i parse them without filter them out, but how can i filter out between bounce message and normal mail? I thought a standard 'sales, 'support' might work but it might look a little samey.   Hi, I have been using Evolution for a quite long and it has downloaded around 1.6GBs of mails from gmail. I want to try thunderbird but I dont want to re download everything again. Is that possible to have both clients sharing same data? I'll make sure I don't use both at the same time if that matters. I'll move to thunderbird fully if I'm happy with it. Problems I face with evolution is that I have to have the GUI running always if I want to get instant alerts and send mail immediately. Also it loads the messages slow and even after I move to the next mail, it slowly downloads all the linked images before moving on.

• SMTP server to deliver mail to Rails app, how?

  all, this is my first question and I hope I chose the right place to post it. Here's what I need help with: I've been looking for this all day and I'm having a hard time finding a SMTP mail server that would fit the following criteria: lightweight, does one thing and does it good is able to route and deliver local mail to a Rails application The second point could be accomplished in any number of ways. I'm running a VPS, so I have full freedom in how to implement this. It could, for example, put messages straight in the db, pipe them to a helper program that would then process them accordingly or also save messages in a mbox file and run a script after every received message. I'm building a small site so the traffic is not going to be a problem. If there are alternative ways to deliver messages to a Rails app, I'd gladly hear about them. Thank you. EDIT: After long searching, I think I've found what I was looking for. Exim is a mail server that can deliver local mail to pipes. Also, Rails 3 and ActionMailer can make it really easy to process the incoming mail.   I just installed 12.04 and when clicking mailto: links Thunderbird opens. I want Gmail to open in the browser that the mailto: link is clicked. So if I am in Firefox and click a mailto: link a new FF tab opens with Gmailloaded. And if I am in Chrome and click a mailto: link then a new Chrome tab opens up with Gmail loaded. Is there a way to do this via some script? Or would I need to set this in some system settings?

The output of an SPF checking tool (http://www.kitterman.com/getspf2.py) says SPF records are primarily published in DNS as TXT records. The TXT records found for your domain are: i=182&m=bizmail-mx2-p9 SPF records should also be published in DNS as type SPF records. No type SPF records found. Checking to see if there is a valid SPF record. No valid SPF record found of either type TXT or type SPF. Where do I get access to these values? Can somebody speculate, where can I find an interface, or a configuration file to fill in the missing fields?

I was wondering about the PC hardware's specifications that I need to have so that it can work just fine? (It will be wireless) Is there any tutorial showing how it could be done?   There are more than 10 categories in my site, users can register more than one category. My php script prepare contents of each category, according to user preference my script merge those contents for each user. so every user can get what category they want. Problem is I want to send 340+ mails per hour and dreamhost dont allow. What do you suggest? I think to a service like mailchimp but I couldnt find that scenario, do they support category & content etc. Can I use smtp in dreamhost?

• Moving domain currently on Google Apps to my own machines

  I own a domain which currently uses Google Apps (it was free back then). Due to recent events I have decided I want to move everything right where I can control the data, which basically means I have the idea of either using a dyndns solution and have at home my own mail server or, better, use an hosted machine to retrieve the mail and the move it via mua to a local machine. My problem is that I know basically next to nothing about DNS and stuff, while I have installed mail servers before. :) [I simply never had the need to work with DNS...] I'd really appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction: what do I need to do to: terminate the Google Apps management of the domain setup dns entries to that mail goes to the new server instead of Google Apps Additionally: if I decide to go the "hosted route" and I put up a machine via a supercheap hosting seller (say, the cheapest OVH one is a few euros a month), how can I tell the world that that machine is the mail server? Of course I would be wise to do a full backup of the mail on Google Apps, and that's easy enough to do by imap (right?).

  I'm having a few issues with my dedicated Windows server that has a Plesk panel: 1.) I can't send e-mail via PHP's mail() function, it always returns the following error: SMTP server response: 550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable or not local Which setting should I alter in order to enable sending mail? 2.) The exec() and passthru() PHP functions don't work; their outputs are blank even when I try to run simple commands such as dir. Is there an option that I can toggle in the control panel to enable this functionality?

• Does it matter that the TTL is higher than I've been told?

  Ok, so the title isn't very descriptive, I know. Basically, I'm trying to configure Outlook.com to use my custom domain! I've followed the steps and made the account etc. and now I have the DNS settings to configure from Windows Live. I added the MX Entries and everything last night but Windows Live is still saying I need to prove my ownership of the domain. The only thing I can think of that I had to use a differrent TTL to the one provided because my web hoster will only allow a minimum of four hours, whereas Windows Live told me to configure the TTL as one hour. Would that stop anything? By the way, my web hoster is JustHost (Shared Hosting)

  I have a massive list of users who registered for accounts and opted into a mailing list on my web site and I am interested in sending out a weekly newsletter. How should I go about doing this. I tried sending it out through my host server, but I received a notice stating that if I did it again they would kick me off the server. Are there any good companies that are designed for this type of thing? I need to find a company that will support this and show me some sort of report about how many emails get opened, deleted, opened then deleted, etc. Any recommendations?
