• ValidateInput Attribute Doesn't Seem To Work in ASP.NET MVC

  I'm trying to get around the "potentially dangerous Request.Form value" error and I'm having no luck. Yes, yes, I've read all the other StackOverflow related questions and none of them seem to get me closer to an answer. I am using [ValidateInput(false)] on all related controller actions...and I've checked many times. I'm using ValidateRequest='false' in all the related ASPX views. I am using ASP.NET MVC 2 Preview 1, but I don't think that's an issue since the error is being generated lower in the framework; Page.ProcessRequest to be exact. I can't see anything I'm doing wrong, I even set <page validateRequest='false'> in the web.config and that didn't solve it either. HELP!!!!!

• Jquery Ignore Event

  I'll just go straight to the point. Let's say we have this markup: <span href="">Text <a href="">Link</a></span> We have events bound to both elements. How do I make it such that when I click on the anchor tag, the event on the parent will not be triggered? I've tried using the Jquery method stopPropagation() but still no luck. Any thoughts? • How to use xml response as XMLObject outside of ajax callback function

  Hopefully I've just made a dumb oversight, but I can't figure out why the following doesn't work: $(function() { var xml; $.get( "somexml.xml", function(data){ xml = data; }, "xml"); alert(xml); }); If I put the alert inside of the callback function, I get back object XMLdocument but if I place it outside of the ajax call, I get undefined. Since my goal is to have a new DOM to parse, I don't want the entire handling of the XMLdocument to be within the callback function. I've tried defining the variable outside of the entire onready function, inside at the top (like above) and inside the callback function, all with no luck. According to Specifying the Data Type for Ajax Requests in the jquery documentation, this should be possible.

  I just need to change order of items in a (previously persisted) ordered collection... I tried simply passing the re-arranged collection to a setter: after committing a transaction the collection is gone. Then I tried to clear() the existing collection and addAll() afterwards: clear() makes persistent manager to mark all the elements as deleted. (But obviously I would like to be able to work with the collection items in the very transaction.) (The collection is not in a default fetch group, so I tried the above also with the named fetch group added into the fetch plan. No luck.) This must be the most stupid question, but I ran out of ideas and I'm stuck here two days already. I swear I googled. :(

• Record locking problem between linux and Windows

  I need to run a bunch of old DOS FoxPro / Clipper applications in linux under DOSEMU. The programs access their "databases" located on a network server (could be a Windows or Linux server) Actually, the programs ran fine, but I cannot manage to make the record locking work as supposed: I can run a program in two terminals (or the server and any terminal for instance) and lock the same record in both. Now, I'm using Tiny Core Linux as terminal and Windows XP as server, accesing the shared files via CIFS and the latest DOSEMU (1.4.0), but I tried with various combinations of server (Ubuntu 7 to 9, Damn Small Linux, XP) <- protocol (CIFS, samba, various versions of smbclient) <- client (same as server) with no luck I tried to configure the server part to work without oplocks in samba (after reading the entire O'Reilly Samba book locking chapter in http://oreilly.com/catalog/samba/chapter/book/ch05_05.html ) and in XP (\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters\UseOpportunisticLocking = 0) but the problem persist. • ASP.NET + GoDaddy Free Hosting?

  Has anyone successfully been able to deploy ASP.NET website to GoDaddy's free hosting? I am talking about free hosting that comes with a domain package from GoDaddy. The catch of the free hosting is having an annoying Google Ads banner in a frame on top of the page. I've searched Google, stackoverflow and GoDaddy forums but I can't find anywhere the solution to my problem. When I upload a ASP.NET website to GoDaddy, it gives me an error - something about TrustLevel. Someone told me that by default asp.net websites have Full Trust Level which GoDaddy doesn't allow. I've even tried changing Trust Level to Medium manually, but with no luck. What may be the problem?

• UITableViewCells loaded from NIB always nil

  I'm trying to create a simple form using a UITableViewController as documented in the Apple Developer Documentation here: http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/documentation/UserExperience/Conceptual/TableView_iPhone/TableViewCells/TableViewCells.html What I'm trying to do is located in the section entitled: "The Technique for Static Row Content" I've created a couple of UITableViewCells and added them to my nib, but when I try and access them to add them to the UITableView (in the cellForRowAtIndexPath method) they are always null. It's like they are not being properly loaded from the nib. I've double/triple/quadruple checked my code to make sure I'm doing it exactly as detailed in the docs, but no luck. Is there something obvious I'm missing here? Thanks

  Is there a way to move a sequential set of commits from one (local) branch to another? I have searched quite a bit and still haven't found a clear answer for what I want to do. For example, say I have this: master A---B---C \ feature-1 M---N---O---P---R---Q And I have decided that the last 3 commits would be better off like this: master A---B---C \ feature-1 M---N---O \ f1-crazy-idea P---R---Q I know I can do this, and it does work: $ git log --graph --pretty=oneline (copying down sha-1 ID's of P, R, Q) $ git checkout feature-1 $ git reset --hard HEAD^^^ $ git checkout -b f1-crazy-idea $ git cherry-pick <P sha1> $ git cherry-pick <R sha1> $ git cherry-pick <Q sha1> I was hoping that instead there would be a more concise way to do this, possibly with git rebase, although I haven't had much luck. • Windows 7: Loop through Taskbar items

  Hi, I'm trying to build a small utility for myself only to hide labels of running programs with windows visible in the taskbar where the label holds no information (for example "iTunes", "Microsoft SQL Server Mngmt Studio", "~cmd.exe") but keep windows like Windows Explorer and Visual Studio and MSN ungroupped, with labels (to know which folders you are currently listing, which projects are open, and who are you chatting with by name). I'm trying to loop through all windows in the taskbar on windows 7, but without any luck. I found some samples for XP's taskbar reorders, they no longer usable. I've checked the samples in WindowsAPICodePack for Windows 7 Taskbar manipulation, but it only lets me access my processes' windows.

• C# PropertyGrid drag drop

  I'm trying to implement drag/drop support to a propertygrid in C# using VS2005 (.NET 2.0). The propertygrid can handle the dragenter etc. events, but there doesn't seem to be a way to get the griditem under the pointer during a drag event. The best I've been able to get so far is to use the selectedgriditem property to retrieve a custom propertydescriptor and set the value, but this requires a grid item to already be selected before starting the drag/drop operation. Has anyone had any luck with implementing this? Thanks :-)

• charset problem?

  Hi all, I have a bugging problem. For a website I made there are search engine friendly URL's generated. The only problem is there are ß-chars in the url too. Chars like ö, ï, ä, ü etc. are placed correct. But with the ß-char there is a diamond-icon with a questionmark in it. I thought it had to do with the charset which is used but i've tried both UTF-8 and iso-8859-1. Both without luck. I need to have the correct character in the url for the readability of deeplinks. • How can I debug this web service http handler?

  Hello everyone, I am building a Httphandler following these instructions here It manipulates HTTP POST and HTTP GET. I have a client with two buttons two POST and GET. After i've tested and happy everythings working I move it from localhost to IIS. Now when I do this I get an exception in the POST handler code. How on earth can I debug this code line by line? I managed to do this awhile ago, I thought it was by attaching to process but I can't work it out. I can emulate GET just by typing address in browser, post im not sure about. I've tried telnetting and sending it from there but haven't had any luck.

• generic async loading method for page web scripts?

  The google analytics code went to an async load model some time back. I've noticed that a lot of the other scripts I use on many sites are causing slow load times - specifically the addthis script and the facebook like button. I'm noticing that the slow load times of these scripts is causing the google bot to calc my page loadtimes as being much slower than previously. I'd like to know if there is a standard/generic way of causing these scripts to load async as well, or perhaps a pointer to someone who has done the work for this already. Seems this would be a popular thing to do, but not much luck searching around.

  Hi, I am attempting to hide this checkbox, which is a check all checkbox in my table header, using jQuery but am not having much luck. The view source of the section I am trying to hide from the user is as follows: <th class="t12subheader" id="CHECK$01"><label for="x01" class="hideMe508">Check All</label><input type="checkbox" name="x02" value="1" onclick="checkAll(this)" /></th> I have tried both: $('#x01, label[for="x01"]').hide (); & $('#x01').hide (); to no avail. Any help using jQuery would be appreciated. Also, does it matter the positioning of hiding this chckbox? Thanks.

• NSTableView won't begin dragging rows if the mouseDown happens within the rect of an NSButtonCell.

  I currently have an odd case where I need to be able to reorder rows in an NSTableView, but the only column happens to be an NSButtonCell. I'm trying to see how I can override NSButtonCell's mouse tracking in order to get it to behave in a way so that the NSTableView will begin dragging the row, but am not having much luck. Additional info that might affect the behavior: With this NSTableView, I am not allowing any rows to be selected, but I have forced mouse tracking to always occur for all cells. This is so that the button can still be clicked even though its row can never be selected. Thanks!

• Fixing lots of broken references in a working asp.net mvc project

  The last time I worked on this project everything was fine. That was about 4 days ago. Now, when I open the project, all the references to .Net are not working, I cannot build my project any more. I have tried following the advice in posts here, but to no avail. Even simple things, like Request.cookies - Request is underlined in curlies, and I get 'Request is undefined' when I roll over it. That doesnt seem like I need to just remove and recreate the reference to System.Web.Mvc - which I have tried, and had no luck. Any ideas? Surely there are other issues that can cause this problem... Thank you.

• Flex chart ItemRollOver behavior

  Hi Guys, I'm trying to prevent a default chart item roll over highlight in a Spark column chart. If you look at any of the chart examples on this page , when you roll over any of the chart series items, they turn a darkened shade of their original colour. This is what I want to prevent. So far I have had no luck with using the itemRollOverColor property, as this only allows you to set it to one specific colour for the whole chart (my app has several different coloured series on the chart at once). Also, trying to leverage the itemRollOver event (with preventDefault() etc) hasn't worked either. Does anyone have any idea what I am missing here? Thanks for reading guys

  Is there a way to get the defered type of a class template parameter ? template <class TPtr> struct foo { typedef TPtr ptr_type; typedef ??? element_type; /* shall be the type of a deferred TPtr*/ }; so foo<const char*>::element_type results in const char, and foo<std::vector<int>::iterator_type>::element_type results in int. i am aware of that i can use the value_type typedef for c++ iterators (like std::vector<int>::iterator_type::value_type), but raw pointers havent got a value_type typedef, so i am out of luck there.

• Manually Writing the HTML in TWebBrowser

  I am using the strategy suggested here: http://cc.embarcadero.com/Item/23992 to get my HTML in the TWebBrowser, but I get a bunch of JavaScript errors when the page loads. If I click yes enough times I can see a page with no formatting and I'm guessing the page does nothing. My theory is that because the links in the HTML are relative, the browser can't load any of it. I have switch from passing the URL, 'about:blank' to the navigate function, to passing the servers home page - in the hopes that some internal mechanism will be able to generate full paths, but no luck. Any one successfully been able to manually write HTML to the TWebBrowser.

  I'm trying to create stillimages with PHP-FFMPEG; but suddenly after installing FFMPEG and FFMPEG-PHP from scratch on a brand new server, all images are created with a green and blueish tint. <?PHP $flvmov = new ffmpeg_movie("test.mp4"); $flvframe = $flvmov->getFrame(50); $flvgd = $flvframe->toGDImage(); imagepng($flvgd, "test.png", 0); imagedestroy($flvgd); ?> I've tried imagejpeg, and other video inputs without luck. Previously this worked perfectly. But now I'm stuck, and I've tried all revs between FFMPEG-PHP-0.5.1 - 0.6.1. Anyone that could think of what this could be?

• VIM comma is missing in insert mode

  Hi folks, I'm a VIM beginner, and I have a weird problem. I started using vim in a terminal emulator, but today I moved to gVim. Then I realized that I cannot write a comma in Insert mode! I tried :map ,, :imap , both said no mapping found. THen I tried :nomap , and :inomap , both without any luck. As writing the commands, I am able to write the comma, but not in insert mode. What can be the problem? Some details: I'm running a freshly installed ubuntu 9.04 system, with an english keyboard, but using a hungarian layout. I am able to write a comma in vim when writing into the "command line" of vim, after pressing : in command mode.
