  • When will microsoft release IE9? [closed]

    I was one of those people early on to try their IE9 beta, and it was terribly buggy. It still does function horribly. IMO any windows release after 5(2k,nt,xp) absolutely sux the life out of my resources compared to RPM linux(opensuse), until at least service pack 2. MS is trying to push HTML5/CSS3 and they cannot pass the Acid 3 test. I am wondering when IE9 will become functional. I am a big supported of MS applications. I have a great amount of adoration for IIS7 because they have support for CGI/PHP. Is IE9 going to be released before 2012?

  • How to create instances of related models in Django

    I'm working on a CMSy app for which I've implemented a set of models which allow for creation of custom Template instances, made up of a number of Fields and tied to a specific Customer. The end-goal is that one or more templates with a set of custom fields can be defined through the Admin interface and associated to a customer, so that customer can then create content objects in the format prescribed by the template. I seem to have gotten this hooked up such that I can create any number of Template objects, but I'm struggling with how to create instances - actual content objects - in those templates. For example, I can define a template "Basic Page" for customer "Acme" which has the fields "Title" and "Body", but I haven't figured out how to create Basic Page instances where these fields can be filled in. Here are my (somewhat elided) models... class Customer(models.Model): ... class Field(models.Model): ... class Template(models.Model): label = models.CharField(max_length=255) clients = models.ManyToManyField(Customer, blank=True) fields = models.ManyToManyField(Field, blank=True) class ContentObject(models.Model): label = models.CharField(max_length=255) template = models.ForeignKey(Template) author = models.ForeignKey(User) customer = models.ForeignKey(Customer) mod_date = models.DateTimeField('Modified Date', editable=False) def __unicode__(self): return '%s (%s)' % (self.label, self.template) def save(self): self.mod_date = datetime.datetime.now() super(ContentObject, self).save() Thanks in advance for any advice!

    I have 2 tables Users and Artists. User: id name password city_id state_id country_id Artist: id user_id description I wish to create add and edit form(single form acts as add and edit). But on click of edit link, I wish to fill in the form fields from user as well as artist table. How do i do that?   • Django filter with two constraints on related model

    I have a django app with models as follows: A Question model An Answer model, with a ForeignKey back to the Question. (A question can have multiple answers.) A Flag model, with a ForeignKey to the Answer. (An answer can be flagged as inappropriate.) All of the above also have a user field, defining the user that created that object. I'm trying to get a list of all Questions with answers from the current user which have been flagged. I tried this: Question.objects.filter(answer__user=user).\ filter(answer__flag__isnull=True).distinct() … but I believe that will return a list of Questions with answers from the current user and with answers which have been flagged, but will not necessarily guarantee that it is the user's answer that has been flagged. Is there an easy way to do this? Basically, I want to make the answer part of the filter refer to the same answer on both of them. Please let me know if something is unclear.

However, the other open source product is licensed under MS-PL but I don't understand if that license is fully compatible with commercial software. So the question is, can I use MS-PL licensed OSS in a commercial/proprietary/for-sale application? Thanks.

  • Positioning decorated series of div tags on screen using offset, DOM JQUERY RELATED

    Hi, I am using JQuery to position a series of div tags which basically use a class inside of the tag which decorates the divs as bars. So the div is a green box based on its css specifications to the glass. I have a list of STARTING postions, a list of left coordiantes- for the starting points I wish to position my DIV say 556, 560, 600 these automatically are generated as left positions in a list I have a list of ENDING postions, a list of left coordiantes- for the ending points I wish to position my DIV say 570, 590, 610 these automatically are generated as left positions in a list now for each start and end position, the bar(green box) i want to be drawn with its appropriate width as follows. so say f is the offset or position of the start and ff the offset or position of the end : Below draws the green box based on only one start and end position LEFT. if (f.left != 0) { $("#test").html($("<div>d</div>")).css({ position: 'absolute', left: (f.left) + "px", top: (f.top + 35) + "px", width: (ff.left - f.left) + 25 + "px" }).addClass("option1"); } I am looking to loop through the list of positons in the list and draw multiple green boxs based on the positions on the screen. The above code draws just one green box from the last offset position.
