    I need to store data to represent this: Water + Fire = Steam Water + Earth = Mud Mud + Fire = Rock The goal is the following: I have draggable HTML divs, and when <div id="Fire"> and <div id="Mud"> overlap, I add <div id="Rock"> to the screen. Ever played Alchemy on iPhone or Android? Same stuff Right now, the way I'm doing this is a JS object : var stuff = { 'Steam' : { needs: [ 'Water', 'Fire'] }, 'Mud' : { needs: [ 'Water', 'Earth'] }, 'Rock' : { needs: [ 'Mud', 'Fire'] }, // etc... }; and every time a div overlaps with another one, I traverse the object keys and check the 'needs' array. I can deal with that structure but I was wondering if I could do any better? Edit: I should add that I also need to store a few other things, like a short description or an icon name. So typicall I have Steam: { needs: [ array ], desc: "short desc", icon:"steam.png"},

    Let's say I have a window-less application which has only an icon on the Taskbar (Windows, Mac OS X & Linux). I want it to capture some key & key combinations, let's say Right Control + Right Shift. Upon keying in correct, combination, it will do something, say take screenshot. I can do window-less app, icon on the Taskbar and screen capture but I don't know how to monitor keyboard globally for key combinations. Please kindly advise. Any help or hint is greatly appreciated!     I'm running my unit tests on a piece of code that does the following in the test: Assert.IsNotNull(target.Icon); Inside the getter for the Icon property, I'm doing this: System.Windows.Controls.Image img = new System.Windows.Controls.Image(); That's throwing this exception: System.InvalidOperationException : The calling thread must be STA, because many UI components require this. I understand what that means, and I understand that I need to use the Dispatcher, but I'm a bit confused about how or why... this is a property of my ViewModel and I don't get any of these exceptions when running the application. Other info: this only started failing when I upgraded to .NET 4.

    My question is quite simple : To use a custom menu for the apps icon on the dock, - (NSMenu*) applicationDockMenu: (id) sender; of the NSApplicationDelegate has to return the menu that the dock will display. Using setImage on a NSMenuItem, you can normaly add icons to the menu. They show up on the normal menu, but not on in contextual menu of the app's dock icon. Then how did Apple manage QuickTime, XCode, Preview to show icons in the list of recent opened files accessible in their dock contextual menu ? Thx.

    I hope to create a single app that supports both the iPhone and the iPad. The app works in the simulator for both devices as desired. Now I'm trying to build and deploy it. I set the "Icon File" in the plist to the 57x57 .png image and when I build and try to submit the app ItunesConnect complains about needing a 72x72 .png image for the iPad. If I specify the "Icon File" to the 72x72 .png ItunesConnect complains about needing a 57x57 image for the iPhone. How do I specify both icons in a single plist?

    There's a button in Flash which looks something like a jQuery SplitButton. The Flash button consists of two parts, the text and the icon. [text portion] [v] I have used it to display string search operators for the user: equals, starts with, ends with, contains. In Flash, when the icon is clicked, the text-area drops down a list of choices; it would look like this: [ ] [v] equals starts with ends with contains And when the user makes a choice from the list, the choice is displayed in the text area of the button and the list rolls up. [ starts with ] [v] I'm trying to convert my Flash app and am hoping to come up with a counterpart to this functionality. For space considerations on the form, a radio-button-group would be less than ideal. That's the major virtue of this Flash button -- it's very economical in its use of screen real-estate.   • Windows 7 application issue - only appears in taskbar

    I have an issue where a program that runs fine under windows xp has stopped working with windows 7. The application appears to start fine then disappears with only the taskbar icon remaining. If you hover over the taskbar icon you can see the application and it kind of looks correct but selecting it does nothing. I cannot seem to get the application to actually appear. Has anyone experienced anything like this and is aware of any possible solutions? Recent builds have worked with windows 7 in the past and I don't believe any significant changes were made before this issue arrived. Thanks

  • Core i7 on linux loses its multithreading capability after suspend

    On my debian-linux system, with a core i7 920 , each time I resume after the command "pm-suspend" (suspend to RAM), mutlithreading capabilities almost disappear. More specifically, two distinct programs can use 2 distinct cores at full rate, but a single program is limited to only one core (for one instance of a multithreaded program as well as multiple instances of a monothreaded program, e.g. "make -j 4" for gcc). So I end up rebooting the system. Any help appreciated!

    My Dell XPSM1210 has developed these weird lines right in the middle of the screen. When I connect an external monitor the lines disappear and the display is fine. I would like to know if this is a problem with the screen panel and if it needs replacement is there a place where I could buy one.     Everytime I run apt-get install or update on my server I get the following error: (May not be exactly this because I am translating from portuguese) An error was found when processing: netatalk E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) I am not trying to install that package. This error appeared when I tried to install that package, which failed to install, and it won't disappear. This doesn't prevent me from installing other packages. It installs them, just gives this error at the end.
