  • Facebook Application with PHP running losing session

    Iam trying to build an Facebook Application based on PHP. The Application is running under php on my own Webhost inside an Canvas as iFrame. I have included the newest Client Library for PHP from Facebook: facebook-php-sdk-94fcb13 To Authorize the user inside my application iam trying to use Facebook Connect, like the example shipped with the Client. Everything works fine the 1st Login, but when i hit the F5 Key to reload the page, the session is lost and i have to login again. When i call my application outside of the Facebook Canvas everything is fine. Iam not sure, but i think my Browser (Chrome/FireFox - Ubuntu) is not allowing to store an cookie inside an iFrame. Does someone knows an solution for this Problem?     I have IFrame load one of the menu item click in that page left side I have tree structure and top of the page menu Items.Center of the page loading with IFrame.Whenever session going to expire I am giving alert(session will expire soon). But this alert is coming for Iframe window (after some seconds complete) as well as parent page.That means two alerts are coming whenever session going to expire .That alert should come on parent page not in Iframe page.How to avoid this?

    Using a VM I installed Windows 2008 Server x64 and as the image below shows, added the IIS Role full image and assigned all role features of IIS full image But if I have an ASP.NET (aspx) page that does (C#) Session["test-session"] = "A"; and read in other page I always get nothing! NOTE: I do have an entire ASP.NET web application, the example above is to be succinct and explicit on what is the problem I'm facing. Can anyone know what do I have to do to the Server, so I can use the Session variables? All help is greatly appreciated, Thank you

    Hi, I am using cakephp1.2 . I have override the pages controller. While login from my application, Im setting the session and redirecting to pages controller, but there I could not able to get the session. If I redirect to some other controller, Im getting the session over there. I have a table with name "pages", and when the user clicks on the links (passing page name), Im taking data from that table and displaying using pages_controller. Can I not use "pages" as table name ? Or session won't work in pages_controller ?

  • Can Tomcat provide seperate (or HTTPS only) sessions for HTTPS requests?

    I have a web application which contains both secure (SSL) and non-secure pages. A user can login to the site and must appear logged-in in both the SSL and non-SSL areas. (NB. SSL isn't implemented via Tomcat, but via Apache HTTPD servers which sit in front of Tomcat - so Tomcat has no SSL configuration.) The logged-in state is currently maintained via a servlet session (using Tomcat's vanilla session management). The obvious issue with this approach is that the JSESSIONID cookie is transported over both HTTP and HTTPS connections, meaning that it's potentially possible to intercept it and hijack the session. Are there any solutions to this without rolling our own session management (i.e. does Tomcat cater for this situation)? I'm prepared to implement our own session management, but don't want to reinvent something that may already be supported.

  • Session variables not getting set but only in Internet Explorer and not on all machines

    Logging into a site I'm working on functions as expected on my local machine but fails on the remote server but ONLY in Internet Explorer. The kicker is that it works in IE locally, just not on the remote machine. What in the world could cause this? I have stepped through the code on the remote machine and can see the entered login values being checked in the database, they are found and then a login function is called. This sets two $_SESSION variables and redirects to the main admin page. However, in IE only (and not when run on local machine... this is key) the $_SESSION variables are not present by the time you get to the main admin page. var_dump($_SESSION) gives me what I expect on every browser when I am running this in my local environment and in every browser except IE 6, 7 and 8 when run on the remote server (where I get a null value as if nothing has been set for $_SESSION). This really has me stumped so any advice is appreciated. For an example... in IE, run locally, var_dump gives me: array 'Username' => string 'theusername' length=11 'UserID' => string 'somevalue' length=9 Run on the remote server (IE only... works fine in other browsers) var_dump gives me: array(0){} Code: $User = GetUser($Username, $Password); if ($User->UserID <> "") { // this works so we call Login()...     Hi all, Please help regarding the following issue. I have enabled the "Block popup" option in browser. We are doing a session validation using a background ajax call to check the session is active or not. If the session is not active for a desired interval a popup window will come for notification. Now comming to the problem . since the session notification popup is comming automatically without any client interaction, This popup is blocked by the browser. But if a client clicks anyother popup window in the form that popup window will not be blocked by the browser.

    Is a bad idea for any reason to leave accounts logged onto Windows remote desktop sessions? So instead of logging off, just closing the session so it locks. In this case, the limited number of remote desktop connections is not an issue. I am just wondering if anyone has seen sessions leak memory over time or maybe security issues with doing this, etc... I could see if programs were left open they might suck up and or leak memory, but has anyone seen this with Microsoft software such as Control Panels, Management Consoles, and Exchange System Administrator?

    Is there a way to save sessions in Chrome? I'm a longtime Firefox user, and am used to being able to save a session containing multiple tabs so I can go back to it at any time. I'm trying to switch over to Chrome, but without this ability it's not going to happen. I know that I can set the prefs to open the last-opened tabs at startup, but that's not really the same as true session management. I'm perfectly happy to install an extension to do this if one exists. (Not sure if this question belongs here or in superuser...)

    Hi i need to pass a long list of Ids from one page to another, i was thinking of using querystring but taking in consideration that the number of ids to be passed may reach 300 i think is not a good idea. an option from my understanding may be the use of session, this seems to me an optimal solution in my case but on the other hand I can certainly clear the session when the user performs a certain action and the list of ids is not longer needed, but if the user leaves the page without performing any action i want to clear the session, how can i do it? If multiple users are using the same functionality do i need the session's items to be confused or the session is for a single user? I am working in asp.net c# Thanks

    We are trying to use remote Powershell on our Exchange system: $rs = New-PSSession -ConnectionUri <uri> -ConfigurationName Microsoft.Exchange -Authentication Basic -Credential <username> -AllowRedirection Import-PSSession $rs After these commands, we can run Exchange cmdlets and all is well. However, we're unable to run any Quest Active Directory cmdlets. Yes, Quest is installed on the remote (as well as our local machines), and yes we are able to run those commands when running Powershell locally on the server. I tried -AllowClobber, but that didn't have an effect. Is there a way to get access to QAD?

In each web application web.config, i add <sessionState mode="SQLServer" allowCustomSqlDatabase="false" sqlConnectionString="data source=server;user id=user;password=password" cookieless="false" timeout="7200" /> I create a session , Session["Data"] = "test" in Web App A and go to Web App B in the same browser to print it Response.Write(Session["Data"]); It shows NOTHING. I can see there are data in table : ASPStateTempApplications and ASPStateTempSessions under ASPState Database. Also, i dont see any error in event log. Can anyone think anything i may do wrong?     I’ve just set up a new Linux box (OpenSuSE 12.3 on VmWare). Now I stated that my SSH shell sessions are disconnected exactly after 20 minutes, clearly with activity. (Putty: “Network error: Software caused connection abort”) I already set Putty to send keep alives every 64 sec. In sshd_config, I set ClientAliveInterval 50 ClientAliveCountMax 2 and did a deamon reload. Didn’t help. About two minutes after the link breakdown, ssh reports to /var/log/messages: … … sshd[…]: Timeout, client not responding. … … sshd[…]: pam_unix(sshd:session): session closed for user root I don’t encounter this behaviour when connecting to other virtual machines, so I guess the problem isn’t in the network. Any help is appreciated.

    I use an OSX Terminal session to start a VPN connection. The command that I execute at the prompt is: /etc/netlock/cvc -c :: This works as expected. I would like to save this to a script file that I can simply double-click to start. I created a file, 'vpn.command', added the command (list above), save it, and given execute permission: chmod +x vpn.command When I double-click the file, Terminal opens a BASH shell, executes the command, then exits. Upon closer inspection, the command is now '/etc/netlock/cvc -c ::; exit;' Why is the extra '; exit;' appended to my command? BTW, is there a way to execute another command, /etc/netlock/cvc -d, when the Terminal session is being closed so I can close the VPN automatically?

    I'm new to PHP sessions and I've come across the following error: Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output started at somefile:someline). As well as this one: Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent by (output started at somefile:someline). The session_start(); is the very first thing in all of my code. I'm not sure what the problem is. It gave me line numbers but all I do on those lines is start the session. Also - I have a portion of code whose POST action is another PHP page. How can I set a $_SESSION variable pertaining to this page within that action page?
