  • Sub reports find the sub total and grand total of each sub report in the main report

    i want to find the grand total from sub report subtotal. i have three subreports. 1. itemreport 2.laborreport 3. machine report. i have find total of that reports using shared variable. like using formula: shared numbervar totalitem=sum({storedprocedrename.columnname}) i have done dis in all the sbreports. now i m want the grand total of all these. i have written the formula in main report is: shared numbervar totalitem; // same variable used in subreport item shared numbervar labtotal; // same variable sed in subreport labor shared numbervar machinetotal; // same variable used in subreport machine numbervar total; total=totalitem+labtotal+machinetotal; total but it is not giving correct result.. it is not giving result in correct format plz tell me code of main report in detail.. thanks

    I have a solution in Visual studio containing a winform project(WinProj) and a deployment project for WinProj. I added to the deployment project the primary output from WinProj. Does it be compiled in Debug or Release mode? I am asking because in the WinProj code I have conditional precompiler statements #if DEBUG throw; #endif will or not be considered this code in the setup project?

So, I came up with this query. UPDATE Group SET Score = Score+5 FROM Contestant, Group WHERE Contestant.Winner = Group.Name Now, I want also to give additional score of 5 to the same Union as Peter which is 77. How can I integrate it as one query to my existing query?

TableA has a clustered primary key ID1, ID2 & ID3 and TableB has p.k. ID1 I need to create a table that has the missing records in TableA based on TableB The select query I am trying to create should give the following output C1 P1 S4 To do this, I have the following SQL query SELECT DISTINCT TableA.ID1, TableA.ID2, TableB.ID1 FROM TableA a, TableB b WHERE TableB.ID1 NOT IN ( SELECT DISTINCT [ID3] FROM TableA aa WHERE a.ID1 == aa.ID1 AND a.ID2 == aa.ID2 ) Though this query works, it performs poorly and my final TableA may have upto 1M records. is there a way to rewrite this more efficiently. I am passing the id as parameter: I am having problem with the parent. How do I get that? I can always say when ID is 1 then parent is Null but when ID is 2 then parent is name of ID 1 similarly when ID is 3 then parent is name of ID2. How do I get that? Can anyone help me with this:

    I saw an interesting post sometime back but with no solution. Trying luck here: There is a table which contain 10 names (U1, U2, U3..and so on). I have to choose 5 names everyday, and display one as the Editor and 4 as Contributors While selecting the random names, I have to also consider that if one user is selected as Editor, he cannot become editor again till everyone got their chance. The conflict occurred in database "dev_bo", table "dbo.Sup_Item_Cat". I tried to put the value which already exists in the dbo.Sup_Item_Cat to the column corresponding to the sup_item.. but no joy :-(

    Hi, I'm getting this error when trying to restore an SSAS database from a backup: The ddl2:MemberKeysUnique element at line 63, column 4862 (namespace http://schemas.microsoft.com/analysisservices/2003/engine/2) cannot appear under Load/ObjectDefinition/Dimension/Hierarchies/Hierarchy. Google hasn't turned up any helpful solutions. (a lot of people found that installing SP2 made the error go away but this has always previously worked in our environment) I don't really understand what the error means. Can somebody interpret or suggest a fix? Thanks, Phil

    Hi. The idea was to create a message box that stores my user name, message, and post datetime into the database as messages are sent. Soon came to realise, what if the user changed his name? So I decided to use the user id (icn) to identify the message poster instead. However, my chunk of codes keep giving me the same error. Says that there are no rows in the dataset ds2.     i have a parent report and it contains a two sub report. * subreport: item which get all fields from store procedure named spGetReportItem. like ItemName ItemQuantity TotalItemCost ab 4 45 dd 6 98 *subreport: Labour which get all fields from store procedure named spGetReportLabour. like labourName labourQuantity TotalLabourCost ab 44 455 dd 63 986 i want to find the total of totalitemcost and total of totallabourcost and then want grandtotal of totalitemcost and totallabourcost. i have seen many examples on internet in which shared variable is used in the formula bt the problem is that they have used the table but i m fetching data from stored procedure. so how can i access the stored procedure fields for calculation. like i have seen that many have used: shared numbervar total:=sum({tablename.ColumnName}); but i have used stored procedure instead of table so how could i find total of field that resultset returns from stored procedure.. plz give me answer as soon as possible.. i need it urgently. thanks..
