  Hi I am using a navigation Controller on an iPhone app. I am able to pass data forward when I push a controller into the navigation stack but how do I pass data back when I pop the controller. What I am basically trying to achieve is the root navigation controller view displays a number of fields that can be edited. A user then clicks on one of the fields to be edited and a EditViewController is pushed onto the stack with the name of the field the user wants to edit. Now the users enters the new value of the field and presses save to pop the view controller. So how do I get the value from the editViewController back to the root navigation controller view?

And a Campaign has_many Contacts I envision being able to see a schedule for Today by going to domain/schedule/today What I'd like it to do would be to show all the Events (Email, Letter, Call) that have to happen today for each campaign. I tried the following, but have some challenges in putting it into a controller versus into a View. There are many emails in campaign.   Hi Guys I have a controller that makes a connection to a url to retrieve a csv file. I am able to send the file in the response using the following code, this works fine. def fileURL = "www.mysite.com/input.csv" def thisUrl = new URL(fileURL); def connection = thisUrl.openConnection(); def output = connection.content.text; response.setHeader "Content-disposition", "attachment; filename=${'output.csv'}" response.contentType = 'text/csv' response.outputStream << output response.outputStream.flush() However I don't think this method is inappropriate for a large file, as the whole file is loaded into the controllers memory. I want to be able to read the file chunk by chunk and write the file to the response chunk by chunk. Any ideas?

• MVC (model-view-controller) - can it be explained in simple terms?

  I need to explain to a not-very-technical manager the MVC (model-view-controller) concept and ran into trouble. The problem is that the explanation needs to be on a "your grandma will get it" level - e.g. even the fairly straightforward explanation offered on MVC Wiki page didn't work, at least with my commentary. Does anyone have a reference to a good MVC explanation in simple terms? It would ideally be done with non-techie metaphor examples (e.g. similar to "Decorator pattern is like glasses") - one reason I failed was that all MVC examples I could come up with were development related. I once saw a list of pattern explanations but to the best of my memory MVC was not on it. Thanks!

I have a property in MyController: public class MyController : Controller { public string SomeProperty {get;set;} } if I set this property in MyController's OnExecuting method, my HtmlHelper extension method works fine: public static string SomeExtension(this HtmlHelper htmlHelper) { StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(); string result = ""; var controller = htmlHelper.ViewContext.Controller as MyController; if (controller != null) { result = controller.SomeProperty; } return result; } it doesn't work if I set 'SomeProperty' in my controllers action method. I guess because I am doing 'as MyController' in the extension method? is there a way for it to work in both situations? I am using the value of SomeProperty to be outputted on my view pages.

  I have problem with navigation between ViewControllers: here is my storyboard: http://postimg.org/image/dar9pkuvl/ The navigation between controllers in green rectangle works fine, I add to controller number 1 controller number 2 (by addtosubview) and then controllers number 3,4,5 to UIScrollView in controller number 2 ( controller number 2 contain scrollview). Everything work fine but if I click Send buttn on controller 4 nothing happens (It is strange because I was added connection between button and controller in the same way like between controllers 7 and 8). I know it is little bit confusing described, but I hope that someone tell me where is problem. Thanks

• Microsoft Ergonomic 7000 keyboard + mouse lag

  I recently bought a new Microsoft Ergonomic 7000 keyboard. I started to use it with my Ubuntu 12.04 and it lags all the time. I try to be more specific: Even on a minor CPU usage the mouse lags. By minor I mean firefox loading a webpage, or opening an application like conky, gnome-terminal etc. When higher CPU usage occurs the keyboard is lagging too, but by this I mean it misses my hits, so what I type won't appear later. What I tried so far (and did not work)? Disable autosuspend (echo -1 to sys/bus/usb.../autosuspend) and at the same place set level to "on". I have tried several video drivers: Vesa, radeon, newest catalyst (and catalyst beta too) When my keyboard and/or mouse lags I tried an other USB keyboard which works perfectly and the same for the mouse. I tried the keyboard and mouse on a different computer with Linux (Ubuntu, Arch, OpenSuse) too, the same problem appears but not on Windows. I tried to replace the battery sets, and to change channel on the dongle. And also tried to use the dongle from other USB ports. On the same time I am able to use any other wireless mouse. I changed the XkbModel to "microsoft7000" but it did not solve anything. • Wifi not working after a few minutes

  I'm using a few MacBooks and iPads connected to a router via WiFi. The problem is that a few minutes after they connect via WiFi the connection stops working. This happens on all devices. I went into the router settings by connecting via cable and everything seems in order. Connecting a laptop via cable to the router I can use internet as normal, the problem is only with WiFi. What can be the problem here? • IPSec VPN's being dropped by router and will not re-establish

  We have 3 sites, with our two remote sites connection to head office via LAN-to-LAN VPN's. All 3 sites use DrayTek 2900's with firware version v3.3.1.1_RC2 (this is a release candidate that DrayTek suggested I try, but sadly it made no difference). The only way to re-establish the VPN's once they have been dropped is to restart the router. Head office is set to dial out to both sites, with both the 'Always on' and 'Enable PING to keep alive' (pinging a server in the remote offices) options ticked. However, at random intervals the VPN's drop, logging IKE_RELEASE VPN : Dial-out Profile Index = 7, Name = Shepton (for one connection, and '6' & 'Wincanton' for the other connection). I first tried swapping the router with one at another site, and then had all three replaced, but that failed to solve the problem. Is anyone aware of anything that could cause the VPN's to drop randomly like this? Thanks.

• Using the Juniper EX3300 Switch as a router?

  I have a Juniper EX3300 switch in a data center. And I have connected one of the uplink ports (ge-0/1/0) to my ISP's router. I want to configure it so that all the devices connected to ports in the same VLAN as ge-0/1/0 can access the Internet. I have done some research, and I haven't gotten anywhere really. I have configured the interface as follows: ge-0/1/0 { ether-options { no-auto-negotiation; link-mode full-duplex; speed { 1g; } } unit 0 { family inet { address xx.xx.xx.xx/32; } } } where xx.xx.xx.xx is the "Customer Router Port IP" assigned by my ISP. When I try to commit, I get the following error: Interface ge-0/1/0.0 not enabled for switching Can some one tell me what is the right way to configure it?

• MTU, DSL router and stalling TCP

  I am discovering stalling TCP connection problem. The problem arises when I try to scp stuff from remote system from my home network. My home network is connected to internet via PPPoE (ADSL+) and everything works perfectly once working from my home network. The ADSL router has MTU set to 1492 but with that setting the scp from remote system does not work - stalling! When I change the MTU on my router to 1500 the that scp works perfectly but internet accesses from my home network is very slow to most of the www sites - even local ones. Just wondering where the problem exists - my ISP blocking ICMP, etc? Thanks!

• Trouble with setting up Mac SSH with TP-LINK router

  I have a Mac running OS X 10.7.2, and a TP-Link TL-WR740N (whose control panel looks like this). Remote Login is on in the Mac's System Preferences, and port 22 is set to forward on the router. I can access my Mac as a web server using the external IP on port 80, which I have set up through the same port-forwarding mechanism provided by the router, but when I try to ssh server@external-ip, it just times out after a long while. (The same thing happens when I try vnc.) I can, however, ssh and vnc successfully into that computer while I'm on the same network when using its internal IP. Since ssh appears to work and port forwarding appears to work, I can't figure out what's causing the problem. Does anyone have any idea what might cause this?

• Cannot access a very specific site from my router

And sadly my email is hosted on my site (which I cant access either) When I try to access my website when connected to my Linksys E3000 router, these days it simply just doesn't go through. Trace complete. C:\Users\Kyle> SHAW Cable being my ISP. Figuring this was all something to do with some setting I made on the router, I reset the thing back to factory defaults. Nope. So I'm at a bit of a loss what to do here, as NO device (Computers, Laptops, Tablets, Phones, PS3/ 360, etc) can access my site or its features, so it's not just my computer either. But every other site is just fine. When I connect to my neighbors router, the site comes up just fine. And shes with SHAW as well. What should I do?!
