• Reverse proxy a directory through IIS 6 with HTTPS

  I have an asp.net based website running on IIS 6 that needs to incorporate a java application running on the same server on a different port. The requests will be coming in via https and I need to invisibly (preserving the https session) proxy domain.com/ over to domain.com:8080/. Does IIS have a built-in mechanism for doing this? If not, are there any reliable free/open source ISAPI extensions that allow it? Thanks in advance

  Hi all. I was wondering when connecting to a git repository, does the git+ssh protocol use the same port number as just using the git protocol. For example: git://example.com/git/helloworld git+ssh://[email protected]/git/helloworld I am trying to push to a remote repository that has port forwarding setup on only the git protocol port number (9418) using EGit.   I've looked at the routing on StackOverflow and I've got a very noobie question, but something I'd like clarification none the less. I'm looking specifically at the Users controller http://stackoverflow.com/Users http://stackoverflow.com/Users/Login http://stackoverflow.com/Users/124069/rockinthesixstring What I'm noticing is that there is a "Users" controller probably with a default "Index" action, and a "Login" action. The problem I am facing is that the login action can be ignored and a "UrlParameter.Optional [ID]" can also be used. How exactly does this look in the RegisterRoutes collection? Or am I missing something totally obvious? • How can I setup a svn subdomain so I can checkin/out without using svn+ssh?

  I have a svn repository on my hosting account at ~/repository/. At the moment I have to create ssh keys to my server for users to checkin/out from the repository using a command like "svn+ssh://domain.com/project1/trunk". This is fine when there were 2 of us using the repository but now I have other people that might be doing work on the server that I cannot fully trust, hence I cannot give them ssh keys as then they will have access to my entire server. I would like to setup access to my svn repository via a subdomain e.g. svn.domain.com, so that users can checkin/out from this location using a command like: "svn co http://svn.domain.com/project1/trunk" - without using ssh. Can this be done and how? This should also help me solve my other issue of managing which users have access to which svn projects. Thanks for any help in advance!

• [C++] Wrong EOF when unzipping binary file

  Hello there, I tried to unzip a binary file to a membuf from a zip archive using Lucian Wischik's Zip Utils: http://www.wischik.com/lu/programmer/zip_utils.html http://www.codeproject.com/KB/files/zip_utils.aspx FindZipItem(hz, filename.c_str(), true, &j, &ze); char *content = new char[ze.unc_size]; UnzipItem(hz, j, content, ze.unc_size); delete[] content; But it didn't unzip the file correctly. It stopped at the first 0x00 of the file. For example when I unzip an MP3 file, it will only unzip the first 4 bytes: 0x49443303 (ID3\0) because the 5th to 8th byte is 0x00000000. I also tried to capture the ZR_RESULT, and it always return ZR_OK (which means completed without errors). • How do I sort feeds returned from Google Reader?

  When I query Google Reader for the list of subscriptions for a user, it seems to be returned in a fixed order, no matter what the order is as shown at google.com/reader. (see http://www.google.com/reader/api/0/subscription/list for the list I'm talking about) Each subscription returns a 'sortid', which Google Reader uses when the user rearranges subscriptions, by sending back a concatenation of all sortids in the new order after rearranging is finished. However, that sortid never changes. So my question is this: How do I actually get the order the subscriptions are supposed to be in? I've been using http://code.google.com/p/pyrfeed/wiki/GoogleReaderAPI as a reference, but it is lacking in this department, and I haven't found anything anywhere else either.

  I'm running into problems trying to pass absolute URIs as parameters with clean URLs enabled. I've got hook_menu() set up like this: function mymodule_menu() { return array( 'page/%' = array( 'title' = 'DBpedia Display Test', 'page callback' = 'mymodule_dbpedia_display', 'page arguments' = array(1), ), ); } and in the page callback: function mymodule_dbpedia_display($uri) { // Make an HTTP request for this URI // and then render some things return $output; } What I'm hoping to do is somehow pass full URIs (e.g. "http://dbpedia.org/resource/Coffee") to my page callback. I've tried a few things and nothing's worked so far... http://mysite.com/page/http%3A%2F%2Fdbpedia.org%2Fresource%2FCoffee Completely breaks Drupal's rewriting http://mysite.com/page/?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fdbpedia.org%2Fresource%2FCoffee Gives a 404 http://mysite.com/page/http://dbpedia.org/resource/Coffee Returns just "http:", which makes sense I could probably use $_GET to pull out the whole query string, but I guess I'm hoping for a more 'Drupal' solution. Any suggestions?

• Is it possible to open server ports on TUN devices?

  If I make a VPN connection to a server (say myvpn.com; assume this server is not behind any router/firewall) via a TUN device and open a port (say 5555), will someone else be able to connect to me via myvpn.com:5555? If not, is there a tunneling software that does exactly this in a transparent manner? i.e. run any TCP/UDP-based server instance behind a router without NAT using another remote server.

  I'm trying to handle Clean URIs in a Classic ASP application. In PHP, I was able to use URIs like http://example.com/index.php/foo/bar/baz and have /foo/bar/baz available in the PATH_INFO environment variable. (I usually add a rewrite rule so I do not need the index.php segment) However, I don't seem to be able to mimic this in Classic ASP. If I try http://example.com/index.asp/foo/bar/baz, I get a 404 error. Is there a way to add a path after the index.asp segment and get the PHP like behaviour in ASP? Note: I'm currently using the workaround of rewriting URLs of the form: http://example.com/foo/bar/baz/ to index.asp?path=/foo/bar/baz since I can't seem to get index.asp/foo/bar/baz to work.

I have a client from whom I have developed a PHP based Facebook project, who is hosting their site on IIS with ASP and no access to PHP, so they have created a sub domain to point to my server to host the site. I have an SSL on www.mydomain.com, but their sub domain does not have SSL (app.theirdomain.com). Would redirection from their side be possible to SSL on my side so that the FB app works?

• SEO URL building - simple or hierarchy

  I run an online shop and I wonder what would be more SEO-friendly URL for a product page: a) domain.com/category-name/product-name OR b) domain.com/product-name I already have URL-s for product category pages with format domain.com/category-name. On one hand I heard (but cannot find proof for) that Google like tree hierarchies in URL (vote for "a"). On the other hand though longer URL could lead to smaller kewyord density, also "product_name" comes as the last URL part so probably the least important (vote for "b"). Maybe both options are equally SEO-effective? PS. I know about canonical URL's but this is not the case, I don't want/need both URL's formats, just want to choose the best.

• Is it possible to apply a Theme to Google Chrome when it's in "Application Mode"?

  I've applied the "brushed" theme (https://tools.google.com/chrome/intl/en/themes/theme%5Fbrushed.html) to my main google chrome browser windows without any problem. However none of the "application mode" shortcuts I created pick up this theme. For example, running chrome as follows does not pick up the "brushed" theme: chrome.exe --app=gmail.com I want to be able to apply themes to google chrome in application mode.

• Apache proxy to two local services

However I now also have another service I want to use a proxy pass with when a certain directory is accessed. So servername.com/ goes to one and servername.com/specialdir goes to the other. I currently have a virtualhost handling the former. How would I go about adding in the latter?

  This is happening to me since last 2 days. Earlier, successful login redirected to my app and I was able to proceed. Now I get this error page.   I have the following XML that is provided to me and I cannot change it: <Parent> <Settings Version="1234" xmlns="urn:schemas-stuff-com"/> </Parent> I am trying to retrieve the "Version" attribute value using XPath. It appears since the xmlns is defined without an alias it automatically assigns that xmlns to the Settings node. When I read this XML into an XMLDocument and view the namespaceURI value for the Settings node it is set to "urn:schemas-stuff-com". To make everything worse, I just started using Amazon's Elastic Load Balancer, so I added the certificate to the ELB and now SSL encryption is happening three times. That's gotta be horrible for performance. What is the sane way to handle this? Should I be forwarding https on the ELB - http on nginx - http on apache? Secondly, there is so much duplication above. Is the best method to not repeat myself to put all of the static asset handling in an include file and just include it in the server?
